Residential Inn


It was a little bit weird to be spending all this time indoors, but it was chilly out and even Quirkless Tsu was still of the mindset that it was better to be warm than not. She wandered around the place, heading down to the breakfast area early in the morning, eating and drinking what was on offer. Her familiar, the Kappa, was nowhere to be seen during all this, so she's mostly sitting alone unless someone would like to join her.

Other teenagers could possibly expect her to meander over and sit with them though, if they didn't object.

"Mind company?"


Around Camelot

Later in the day, Tsuyu bundled up in as warm an outfit as she could manage and meandered out into the city itself. She was entranced by the curious combination of nature and architecture, her wide eyes going wider as she followed a stream right up to the wall of a house. She paused briefly before skirting the edge, just to see if it continued onto the other side...

"...Wow, it really does? This place is extraordinary!" she says somewhat loudly. From down in the water, something burbles a reply, and up pops her familiar, chewing casually on a cucumber.

"Now there you are. I was wondering when you'd turn up!" Tsu says to the kappa, who clambers out and begins to shake himself to clear off some of the water. Which may or may not spray a passerby!


Training Grounds

Never one for idling about, Tsuyu did eventually make her way to the magical training grounds to start getting a handle on her abilities. She wasn't thrilled with the loss of her quirk, but she figured that she'd need to make do, even if she didn't like it.

So, she sought out a training partner, walking up to anyone else that looked a little new, or a little less than confident at least.

"...Want to get some practice in together?" she asks, smiling gently.


A Quest! (Possibly leading to A Tall Order?)


Also being a generally helpful person, Tsuyu thought to check out the QuestBoard app to see what kinds of tasks were available. Sitting atop her familiar's shell outside the inn, knees drawn up to her chest, she lounged there, pouring over the assortment of odd jobs. As she sat there, she couldn't help but break out in a little laugh.

"Now that sounds silly!" she says, presumably to her Kappa partner, but maybe that just looks like a green rock and you feel like chatting?

[Like good hero students they don't sit around long before they jump right into their studies. Learning magic would be a challenge for all of them but the fundamentals are the same as evolving and mastering a quirk, he thinks.

Izuku already has a notebook in his lap as he's scribbling little notes...]

Eh? [Looking up!] Tsu-chan! It's good to see you've started on your magic too. Yeah, I'd like to get some practice done.

[At least he does close his notebook to stand up.]

Yes, of course I have, Midoriya-chan.

[How could she not have? She's not going to say she's useless without her quirk, but she certainly feels like she does.

It is also only prudent to get in as much training as possible before a possible conflict. That's probably the most important thing that their teachers grilled into them.]

What have you been given?

[He digs around in his pocket and produces a small cloth bag. He opens it open and inside are some pieces of white chalk and what appears to be some dried twigs and leaves.]

Alchemy magic, I think I got a few things to start off with the basics.

[The give and take of alchemy magic. It's going to take a while for him to memorize everything.]

Have you tried anything with your light magic, yet?

Alchemy...huh.

[Well she knows the origin of the word. Lead to gold and all that, European mysticism...]

And yeah, I have. I've tried bending light, and making it. I was going to try hardening it next.

What about you? What have you transformed, Midoriya-chan?

training grounds

[ Confidence is something that Karma exudes, but there is little doubt that he's new to all of this, standing off to the side of the training grounds and watching instead of participating. With concentration to rival even Midoriya's, he studies the way others draw out and utilize their magic, no notebook open in his hand but clear with the way his lips move silently that he's taking notes in his mind.

There's the briefest of glances towards Tsuyu when she approaches, enough to register her presense so he isn't startled by her, but there is some surprise at the question nonetheless. ]

Hmm... Yeah, I think I've got enough to work with now! What can you do?

[frogiveness]

Light Magic.

[Her answer is immediate and without much inflection, as is her way. She smiles warmly though, glad to find someone else that isn't a veteran at this. And also, someone that's not a classmate, who might have certain expectations of her, or assail her with platitudes about getting her Quirk back at some point.]

I can make Light and bend it a bit. What about you?

Like a mirage, huh?

[ That's about the extent of what he's seen light magic be able to do in a combat sense, tricking the other person into hitting off target or missing altogether. Pesky, but he can think of ways around that if he's forced to go up against somebody with that power. ]

Pretty cool! For me, I can see into the past of something I touch. Not useful at all! You don't need magic to figure out an arrow was strung by the bow a second before striking your heart, you know?

[ On the surface, useless. But he can and will find uses for this sort of magic, seeing as he has confidence in his abilities to fight without it. ]

Residential Inn

(OOC: I have begun my MHA watching and finished the first season so far, so please no spoilers, but I have to say, Asui certainly kicked ass at the end of said season!)

No, not at all.

[Despite being taller than some adults, Gaius does qualify still as a teenager. He's been drinking a coffee and chewing on a muffin as part of a small breakfast. His familiar -- a tiny blue green hummingbird with two long purple tail feathers -- is sitting on his shoulder.]

I know I should have gotten more sleep, but I'm used to getting up really early in the morning.

[If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it's a teenager as far as she's concerned.

With approval given, she settles down across from him, nodding politely to the hummingbird before facing him.]

Same here. I don't like just lounging around. there's too much to do. Getting adjusted to a whole new world and learning a new town is a little exciting, too.

That's for sure. I guess before trying to understand everything about the world, I should figure out where I can live and make a base of sorts.

[You can't go to military school and not pick up a few habits along the way.]

But you're right, exploring is also important.

[Tsuyu's not the only one interested in doing her part to be helpful! It's practically in grained, after all, doing things for people that need help...even if it's something relatively mundane, or even kind of silly. They're heroes, and despite this strange, new world, and even the lack of their quirks...Ochako still has ambitions to remain becoming a hero - or at least someone who can help people, and save them when they're really in danger.

Making herself pretty known as she heads over, Ochako hums as she slides next to her best froggy friend and looks over her shoulder a bit, head tilted to one side.]

What're you looking a--oh!! Those are those request things from people and creature here, right? Ehehe, I was looking them over this morning too. [During breakfast, but it seems to have been updated a bit now that it's later in the day.] We should do one of them together, Tsu-chan!! It'll be like hero work!

[It's been grilled into them, certainly. Having a teacher lineup like All Might and Eraserhead certainly hadn't made them the kinds of students that would lay about idle. Not when their whole universe was frozen solid. They had to fix this place so they could fix home, right? that was how it worked!

Tsuyu looks down at the little app, one finger half-pressed against one of the requests.]

We should. I like the look of a couple of these. What do you think, Ochako-chan?

[Indeed, and even just helping people--er...creatures? Ochako's still coming to terms with magic being magic and different beings being different not because of a form altering quirk or anything. It's a bit of a culture shock, for sure. Regardless, she's still eager and ready to help anyone, as best as she can.]

Mm, I'm not too picky, but it's going to be weird not having my quirk for some of these...since I still haven't figured out how to work my magic. [She points to the one with the elves, giggling a bit.] Ehehe, this one would be so easy if I still had Zero Gravity!

Being in a place named Avalon wasn't the most comfortable experience for Barbara. That was one reason she spent as much time in town as she did, to assure herself that the unfortunate name of the place was a cosmic coincidence and not some kind of dark sinister magic.

Certainly it was hard to feel threatened by a girl following the course of a stream up to a house out of nothing but curiosity--but the creature that popped out alerted Barbara that this wasn't a citizen. She approached, curious. "You, outlander?"

[frogiveness]

Tsuyu looks back at the speaker, finger tapping her lips thoughtfully. Outlander? Well, that was probably a good word for what she was. Did they have a specific designation? She wasn't sure...

"Yes. Are you?"

That seemed like the thing to ask.

Barbara nodded. That was all that needed to be said, then. She didn't know how much she trusted her fellow outlanders (or the native Avalonians, for that matter), but she was at least trying to be more open-minded about other humans.

"Why you follow stream? Fish in stream?" lunch is always a concern, obviously

[Chris has figured she can't avoid her new powers forever, and she's come out with her bow in order to see what she can do. If she can find a way to combine her archery with her new powers, that'd be swell.

Of course, before she can get started, she's approached by someone...]

Eh? You mean train together...? Just out of the blue?

[frogiveness]

[Tsuyu smiles brightly.]

Ribbit Why not? It seems like a good way to get used to how they do things here, and we should be working together.

[Long, large fingers tap her chest, and she bobs her head.]

I'm Tsuyu. What's your name?

I guess you have a point. [Chris is far past the point where she has to learn lessons about teamwork, after all.]

Well, Tsuyu looks apologetic. The kappa absolutely does not. It's beaky face quirks in a mischievous grin, even.

"I take it this... thing is your familiar?"

[ alisaie generally never expects to be approached, she's kind of got resting bitch.. everything, and she's quite distracted by the book she has cracked open on the table beside her plate, so she doesn't notice her new friend's approach until she's already sitting down. her familiar, a blue and scarlet plumed phoenix, sits contentedly on the back of the chair beside her, peering at her plate. ]

[ oops, her mouth is full of muffin, her cheeks chipmunk puffed. quickly, she swallows. ]

Ah - sorry, no, no I suppose I don't mind at all.

[Tsuyu is rarely put off by much of anything. Resting Bitch Anything just doesn't matter to her after spending a school year in the same class as Bakugou. So, settling down with a stranger and her familiar seemed absolutely natural.]

Thank you. I don't really like the idea of sitting alone.

[Blunt as always, but still polite in her own way, Tsu dips her head.]

My name is Tsuyu. Thank you.

[ thankfully alisaie's resting bitch everything doesn't apply to normal conversation, she's quite friendly with strangers, provided they don't give her any reason not to be, and this girl certainly seems nice enough. ]

[ and she's quite used to sitting alone - or, well, at least she used to be, at one time. when did she become so social..? gods, life in sharlayan seems like a lifetime ago. anyway. ]

I take it you're new here, too?
