Residential Inn

It was a little bit weird to be spending all this time indoors, but it was chilly out and even Quirkless Tsu was still of the mindset that it was better to be warm than not. She wandered around the place, heading down to the breakfast area early in the morning, eating and drinking what was on offer. Her familiar, the Kappa, was nowhere to be seen during all this, so she's mostly sitting alone unless someone would like to join her.

Other teenagers could possibly expect her to meander over and sit with them though, if they didn't object.

"Mind company?"

Around Camelot

Later in the day, Tsuyu bundled up in as warm an outfit as she could manage and meandered out into the city itself. She was entranced by the curious combination of nature and architecture, her wide eyes going wider as she followed a stream right up to the wall of a house. She paused briefly before skirting the edge, just to see if it continued onto the other side...

"...Wow, it really does? This place is extraordinary!" she says somewhat loudly. From down in the water, something burbles a reply, and up pops her familiar, chewing casually on a cucumber.

"Now there you are. I was wondering when you'd turn up!" Tsu says to the kappa, who clambers out and begins to shake himself to clear off some of the water. Which may or may not spray a passerby!

Training Grounds

Never one for idling about, Tsuyu did eventually make her way to the magical training grounds to start getting a handle on her abilities. She wasn't thrilled with the loss of her quirk, but she figured that she'd need to make do, even if she didn't like it.

So, she sought out a training partner, walking up to anyone else that looked a little new, or a little less than confident at least.

"...Want to get some practice in together?" she asks, smiling gently.

A Quest! (Possibly leading to A Tall Order?)

Also being a generally helpful person, Tsuyu thought to check out the QuestBoard app to see what kinds of tasks were available. Sitting atop her familiar's shell outside the inn, knees drawn up to her chest, she lounged there, pouring over the assortment of odd jobs. As she sat there, she couldn't help but break out in a little laugh.

"Now that sounds silly!" she says, presumably to her Kappa partner, but maybe that just looks like a green rock and you feel like chatting?

[Their familiars could totally help. She looks down beneath her at the moss-green kappa she's sitting on.]

[She hasn't named it yet.

It rumbles a bit, but seems to be agreeable.]

[Oh!! Ochako jolts a little bit, having not really caught on that the mossy stone her friend was sitting on was actually her familiar. Ochako giggles after the initial shock, crouching a bit to get a better look at it. After all, Kappa are just fairytales and folklore back home.]

Eeh...so this is your familiar, Tsu-chan? Ehehe, it's pretty cool!! Thank you for your help. [And of course she's going to bow her head a bit - always got to be polite, especially to Yokai!]

[It dips it's head too. but only a bit. Tsu's been teaching it to not dip too far and spill the bowl on top of his head. That's not good for him.]

He is, yes. He seems mostly pretty nice. But, you know, a little mischievous like all kappa.

[They're naughty creatures. But she'll train him yet.]

I have some cucumber, if you want to give him a piece. He'll like you more after.

[Oh no, it's actually kinda cute!! In a totally weird, sort of creepy kind of way. Ochako definitely never thought she'd see a kappa for real in her lifetime - maybe someone close to it, with a quirk that mimicked it...but never a real one. She kinda want to touch it, but would prefer to keep all her fingers...]

Oh! If you do, Tsu-chan, I'd love to!! I'm sorry my wolfy isn't here, otherwise I'd let you pet her... Ehehe, she's really big and fluffy, and she seems to like being pet a lot! I'm sure she'd adore you - she seems to know who my friends are, and she's already been really friendly with Deku-kun and Bakugou-kun!

[She gave them many slobbery kisses, that is.]

[Tsuyu starts rooting through her little frog-shaped pack, until she finds what she's looking for. With a triumphant smile she pulls out a little baggie and tosses it to Ochako. It's full of sliced cucumbers, and the kappa's eyes follow it hungrily.]

Well, you can show me your wolf later. I'd love to meet her. But for now, why don't you feed kappa-chan.

[Ah...froggy backpack...c-cute! Giggling, Ochako nearly fumbles the bag since she was momentarily distracted, but manages to catch it and open it up.]

Alright, just watch my fingers, please, Kappa-chan. [Should she just hold them out? Ochako's not really sure how to go about this...she never in her life thought she'd be feeding a genuine kappa before. Maybe sort of like how she feeds the deer in Nara? Just hold them out in your palm?] Here you go!

Mmh, this is making me wonder if I should pack snacks for my wolfy sometimes, too... [Would it like dog biscuits? P-Probably not, though carrying raw meat is probably not a great idea, either. Gross.]

[Kappa-kun is careful. He's not mean, after all. He reaches out and just plucks it from Ochako's fingers with surprising delicacy, and then scarfs it down in two quick, crunchy bites.

Tsu giggles, though.]

Maybe? Get him some beef jerky. He'd probably like that.

[Ochako giggles, smiling at the care he takes to avoid being naughty. She's not sure if that's just his personality in general, or if Tsuyu already began teaching him some manners, but Ochako has to will herself not to give his shell a pleased little pat.]

Mm, I actually think my wolfy is a girl, but, um...I-I never actually...ch-checked. Um.[IT SEEMS TERRIBLY RUDE TO DO.] But beef jerky sounds like a good idea - I was just concerned if there were spices in it that were unsafe for do--ehh...wolves? I guess just dried meat would be fine...

A-Anyway, it usually comes when I call it. Sometimes...I-I never know what to call, since it doesn't respond to any names I've tried to give it. So I've just been calling her 'wolfy'. It's kind of boring. [She wanted to call it Mochi. :(]

[Kappa are generally pretty well mannered. When they aren't hungry, and seeking to make trouble.

Tsu makes a bit of a face about the whole 'girl or boy' wolf thing because she doesn't know how to say anything about it without feeling weird (because she doesn't want to think about wolf dingleberries okay!) and...]

I haven't named kappa-kun yet, either. But I think, if he's okay with it, I'm going to call him Keropi.

[The Kappa looks up, snorts once, and seems to smile. If a creature with a bill can be said to smile.]

[Mood as hell, Tsuyu...which is why Ochako laments the fact her familiar isn't the talkative sort. It's intelligent, and clearly sentient, so...it sure as hell makes these sorts of things way more awkward. B-But that's a topic for another time. She will cling on to that subject change because it's much better and actually way more pleasant.]

Uwaah, that's such a cute name!! Keropi-chan - I like it! Though, ehehe, it's not really up to me, is it? [Ochako grins down at the kappa pleasantly before straightening up and stretching a little bit.] Anyway, Tsu-chan, do you know where we go to, um...I guess start that mission? Eh--...I mean, quest? If it's like a video game, there'd be a guild or something right? Or, um...since it's on the phone app, do we just check it off?

[Man, this is all so new and bizarre. Would it register maybe their network ID? Probably. Technology is weird.]

[Tsuyu is far happier to talk about anything but wolf junk, too. And so, she straightens up and looks down at her phone.]

I guess there's directions? It says in the app to just go to this place, and I think...

[She presses a button, and a little arrow appears.]

...yes, it gives directions. Do you want to go now?

[Ochako oohs and aahs a bit - the smartphone is still a bit of a learning curve for her - what with Ochako never being able to afford anything more than her outdated, pink flip-phone. It served its purpose, certainly, but this is way more high-tech. She'll catch on fast, she's of the age group to do so, but it's still pretty cool at first glimpse.]

Oooh, cool!! Yeah, if you're ready to go, Tsu-chan, we can head out! Should we pack anything at all? I'm not sure what sorts of things we may need...

[It seems like a pretty simple, straightforward job. Maybe some waters, in case they get tired? This is a very physical endeavor, so they might get tired, and dehydrated...]

[She will. Tsu has faith, and Ochako can always ask for help.]

Well, I think we need water, towels, and food? Just in case.

[Seems like the logical things.]

Maybe a first aid kit? The hotel should have some extras.

Mhm, I was thinking the same. I can get towels, and pack up some sandwiches real quick, before we head out!! It shouldn't take long at all.

[Since she also stays at the inn, for now. Ochako's not sure what she's going to do about permanent living - the inn room fits her needs pretty well for the time being, but she does sort of...miss being all together with her friends and classmates. It's been really nice to just have them all under one roof, and Ochako misses that. She never realized how lonely it can be all by herself...]

Ah, a first aid kit would definitely be useful!! Just in case.

[Tsu nods, cracking her fingers and sliding off her familiar. She's kind of glad having them all close too. The single room is nice, and she doesn't need much space. Though having a frog house might be nice, and a pond...]

Let's get supplies and meet back here in ten minutes? Then we can be off.

[Indeed, the inn definitely serves its purpose of keeping the crew within arm's reach of one another, while also not being too crowded in terms of space. It's just right for what Ochako needs, which isn't much. She grew up without having an overabundance of things, given her financial situation growing up, but...she's still happy.]

Right!! See you then!

[And off the two go to prepare. It really doesn't take long at all - shoving some of her bathroom towels into a bag, and being allowed to use the kitchens real quick to prep some sandwiches and get some waters was no biggie at all. Ochako is out and going to meet back with Tsuyu in no time at all.]

[Tsu hops off and meanders into the inn, coming back several moments later with a stash of medical supplies, water bottles, and other necessities. Backpack full, she steps out and finds kappa-kun all ready to go, his own little backpack adjusted to fit his shell.

What's in it? Cucumbers of course.]

Ochako giggles at the sight of the kappa with their own backpack, looking around to see if her familiar is anywhere around. Sadly, not yet...though Ochako knows that if she really needs the dire wolf to appear, all she really has to do is call for it. It may be absent a bit more than other familiars (p-probably due to its size), but it's very loyal. Ochako shoulders her bag and grins at the pair.]

Yeah, let's go!! This should be a lot of fun!! [Also getting paid, too. That's another thing Ochako's looking forward to - she needs a decent flow of cash.]

[Tsu nods, and starts off in the direction the GPS is pointing them, mostly following a river road...]

So what do you think of Camelot so far? It isn't what I expected.

[And Ochako follows along, thinking about the question a moment before sort of looking over her shoulder to give Camelot one last, appraising look before glancing forward again.]

Mmh...I think I feel the same as you, Tsu-chan. I thought it'd be bigger, for one thing. A little more busy...sort of like Shibuya station. Just a bunch of people all in one place. A-And maybe a bit more, um...magical? It just feels like a big city, with a mix of old and new age things. It's weird.

...I guess I can't complain about the food though - it's pretty good, but I do miss some of the comfort foods of home, too, you know? What about you?

No, I understand.

[She misses a lot of things. Like easy access to flies with her tongue. And also beondegi, and stuff that she knows Ochako wouldn't like. But at the same time...]

I think Camelot is really cool? But it's really strange too. I saw a house with a stream running through it. It was odd.

[Ochako most definitely would not like anything like that, and probably would turn green at the mere mention... If there's one way to kill her ravenous appetite, it's probably to mention edible insects. S-Sorry, friendo, she loves and respects you and your froggy ways, but...man. Cannot do it on the bug thing. She truly felt for Mic-sensei when he was, uh...put into that nightmare scenario by Jirou and Kouda, okokok. It made her skin crawl just watching on the monitors.]

Eeh, a stream running through the house?! That's so weird... [But cool indeed.] Mm, I hope I can learn my magic soon, so I can figure out how to move water and stuff like that... Oh!! Speaking of, what sort of magic did you get, Tsu-chan?

Oh! I got light magic.

[Which is pretty fitting. She thinks, anyway. Because she tries to be sweet to everyone.

And for explanation, and to show off, she holds up a hand and waggles her fingers, making sparks shower off of it.]

[Ochako leans in and her eyes widen with a soft gasp. Oh, that is so cool!! It's so different from her friend's usual quirk that Ochako is just delighted to see it.]

Uwaah, that's so pretty!! Like a sparkler! I was told I got elemental magic, but I haven't been able to figure out how to trigger it yet. It's, ah...i-it's a lot harder than I thought it'd be. [For a girl who love fantasy genre and magical girl anime/manga...Ochako has tried just about everything - to no avail.] But I heard this type of magic is pretty strong, so I'm excited to get to learn it.

Have you learned anything more than just that? [It's easy for Ochako to ask Tsuyu about her magic - it both passes the time of their walk, and sort of keeps Ochako entertained as well. It's not like she has anything to show for her efforts to unlock her magic, after all... B-Besides, she's always happy to see how cool and awesome her friends are.]

I didn't know you were having trouble with it. I just...studied some books in the library and did a little practice and it just sort of came.

[It's all very basic, of course, But she's managing!]

Um...what else can I do though? I can make little barriers? Like a shield, but they aren't big, or very solid for very long. I'm going to try and make a laser beam happen, though. I've been working on that.
