Residential Inn

It was a little bit weird to be spending all this time indoors, but it was chilly out and even Quirkless Tsu was still of the mindset that it was better to be warm than not. She wandered around the place, heading down to the breakfast area early in the morning, eating and drinking what was on offer. Her familiar, the Kappa, was nowhere to be seen during all this, so she's mostly sitting alone unless someone would like to join her.

Other teenagers could possibly expect her to meander over and sit with them though, if they didn't object.

"Mind company?"

Around Camelot

Later in the day, Tsuyu bundled up in as warm an outfit as she could manage and meandered out into the city itself. She was entranced by the curious combination of nature and architecture, her wide eyes going wider as she followed a stream right up to the wall of a house. She paused briefly before skirting the edge, just to see if it continued onto the other side...

"...Wow, it really does? This place is extraordinary!" she says somewhat loudly. From down in the water, something burbles a reply, and up pops her familiar, chewing casually on a cucumber.

"Now there you are. I was wondering when you'd turn up!" Tsu says to the kappa, who clambers out and begins to shake himself to clear off some of the water. Which may or may not spray a passerby!

Training Grounds

Never one for idling about, Tsuyu did eventually make her way to the magical training grounds to start getting a handle on her abilities. She wasn't thrilled with the loss of her quirk, but she figured that she'd need to make do, even if she didn't like it.

So, she sought out a training partner, walking up to anyone else that looked a little new, or a little less than confident at least.

"...Want to get some practice in together?" she asks, smiling gently.

A Quest! (Possibly leading to A Tall Order?)

Also being a generally helpful person, Tsuyu thought to check out the QuestBoard app to see what kinds of tasks were available. Sitting atop her familiar's shell outside the inn, knees drawn up to her chest, she lounged there, pouring over the assortment of odd jobs. As she sat there, she couldn't help but break out in a little laugh.

"Now that sounds silly!" she says, presumably to her Kappa partner, but maybe that just looks like a green rock and you feel like chatting?

No, no. They're basically supernatural powers. People are born with them.

At home, I have sticky fingers and a stretchy tongue, like a frog. But some people can fly, or talk to animals, and all sorts of other things.

[ alisaie's eyebrows fly right up to her hairline in surprise. ]

A stretchy tongue? And you were.. born this way?

Yes. My Quirk is that I'm like a frog? Before it was taken away by this place, I could do anything a frog could do.

[Including all the weird and gross stuff. Her anatomy is very different now.]

Like breathe underwater? Did you have sticky toes?

No, and yes. Frogs don't breathe underwater, they're amphibians. They need air, but they can get it by absorbing oxygen in the water from their skin.

What about the sticky toes?

Yes. [She waggles her fingers. Fingers that are just a bit too big to be normal.]

But they don't stick now.

[ she would have thought that such traits would have been biological, rather than magical in nature, but it seems they have been lost nonetheless. alisaie clears her throat. ]

Ah, my apologies, I hadn't meant to pry so much. 'Tis not every day that you meet a frog person.

It's alright! I don't mind. I like talking about quirks.

[She chuckles.]

Oh I don't know, these quirks seem a lot more interesting to me. Magicks are commonplace.

[ but what she's talking about is entirely different! not that there aren't people with interesting talents where she comes from, but definitely not ones like this. ]

I guess it's the opposite for me. Magic is new and exciting.

[She smiles, bright, cheerful.]

And yes, he is. He's one of my classmates. There's a bunch of students from my school here, actually.

Sure, yes. But I'm more interested in getting to know people from other universes too.

What's your world like? With magic and stuff, it must be amazing.

Oh, I'm sure it only seems that way because it's different, hm?

[ after all, to her, those quirks seem pretty great. not that she doesn't love magic, she couldn't live without it, but it is no more interesting to her than, you know, carriages, or swordplay, or anything else. ]

But it certainly has its fair share of problems. I do.. love it, though.

[ and she misses it, too. ]

Well, I do still love my own world's grass.. I had only just returned..

[ she says, sounding very tired. alisaie had been quite homesick before finally returning to mor dhona, and now she's here.. it's a little bit frustrating!! she sighs. ]

But aye, I suppose you are right, it is quite amazing.

[ but not because of the magic, just because she loves it. ]

You've traveled to other worlds before?

[Because that's a thing the frog is going to fixate on!]

[ alisaie cannot blame her, not long ago she would have been just as interested.. ]

Only once, but yes. It was a reflection of my own world, in a sense, and traveling between them was.. not easy, but it was a worthwhile experience.

A reflection? Like...a shadow world?

[She's definitely seen that in a manga.]

Shadow world? No, it was quite normal, really. Very similar to what I was used to, but time moved differently, things were called by different names, society made different choices.. things like that.

[ not quite like the upside down.. ]

Oh, that's kind of what I mean. Like...a reflection of your world. Only a shadow of itself.

[She has a very active imagination, okay?]

Oh, I had assumed that by shadow you meant.. weaker, somehow. But yes, it was very similar to my home world in many ways, different in others. Like enough to feel familiar, at least. Not like this place.

[ some things are similar, but most things.. not so much. ]

That's pretty cool though. I mean, was any of it better? Or was it worse?

I suppose that depends on what you mean by better.. it was certainly in quite a lot of trouble, but it was a beautiful place. I met many lovely people there.

[ which hits her heart with a painful pang; unless they happen to show up here, they are faces she will never see again. alas. ]
