Backstage

Backstage was a busy place during the whole concert. There were people getting ready, people helping people get ready and even just friends visiting them to wish them good luck (or to break a leg) or just help relieve some of the stage fright. Each artist or group had access to a room of their own if they needed some alone time. All they had to do was put up a sign that the room was in use.

On the stage

The theater stage was decorated with appropriate Valentine's Day decorations - roses, hearts and other simple, but meaningful things. The curtain would come down whenever someone needed time to prepare the stage to look different and there were several talented musicians helping out to bring live music to the stage.

As they say, they stage is for the performers to take as their own, one or several at a time.

In the audience

The audience has seatings for those who desire it, but there is also a space for anyone to stand and dance. There's plenty of space even if there is a section of the audience sectioned off for a... pool? Why was there a pool in the theater? Well, it certainly wasn't for just anyone to casually swim in but instead it was reserved for a special guest making an appearance at the concert.

The Lady of the Lake had been invited by Ren to watch the concert. To be fair, he had also invited King Arthur, Merlin and the Lady Morganna, but only the Lady of the Lake had accepted the invitation (although looking at Merlin's instagram afterwards may prove different, as he was there but just under a disguise).

Snacks and beverages are also being served at the theater lobby. Of course, since it was Valentine's Day, there was plenty of chocolate to go around.


After-party

While the after-party was mostly aimed at performers to celebrate a successful concert, no one was turned away from it. Anyone wanting to visit the party to congratulate on the success or to just chat with the performers was definitely welcome to.

The party was hosted at the theater too, since why not use the space you needed to clean up the next day anyway. Anyone was also welcome to join the clean up process the next day as well, but Ren certainly wouldn't force anyone to help out.

STELLA

Stella will be performing one song from her world back home! For the performance, she's whipped together an outfit and notably, she'll be introducing herself as Prism Pink when she's on the stage.

The song is called Dreamin' Chu-Chu (lyrics can be found here) and the choreography is cute, and energetic and bouncy and the performance itself is pretty high quality, with all sorts of sparkly embellishments and fancy effects added with her light magic.

CROW

Crow will be performing two songs. The first one goes with the theme of love and the second song is meant to be empowering. For the concert, he has on a different outfit than usual since it's a special occasion.

During Crow's performance, his familiar flies above the audience showering them with crimson feathers. The stage is dark, except for the spotlight on Crow and his support as he sings. The performance feels very intimate since the audience's gaze focuses only on him while on stage. People will certainly be entertained by his soulful vocals and his spirited guitar solos with flaming hands?!

NYUU

Nyuu will be singing opera! The song is in German and is called Mein Herr Marquis. Lyrics and translation into English can be found here. It's meant to be a fun, humorous song for Valentine's Day. Her outfit is a purple dress with matching purple earrings that are not over-the-top fancy since she's still only been here for a month (and most of the one million gold from Morganna is going into moving her and Lucy out of the hotel).

The stage will be lit with a backdrop of a formal garden with a fountain. Thanks to her animal magic, Nyuu's asked some nice birds to come and sing along with her during the parts with laughter and when she's holding a note (Disclaimer: I'm not familiar with singing terminology.). They'll be perched on the branch of a tree stage prop.

Aurora

Aurora is just singing one song. She is not a performer by nature but she is very naturally graceful so when she does dance on stage, she is pretty to watch.

Her animal friends, while summoned, do not partake in the song. The setting is that of a forest with a castle off in the distance of the background.

Maribelle

Maribelle will be performing a solo violin song - but only after she goes into detailed (read: SO LONG) length about its origins and history.

Thankfully once she shuts up, it is a beautiful piece that brings to mind the softness of young love, at times the ache of being away from the one you care for, and ultimately finishes with the tenderness of growing old together.

Once she is finished, she takes a bow, and her familiar - a brilliantly white bird - flies off into the audience, dropping off a few feathers in a small but pretty twirling dance before returning to her shoulder.

Ren

Ren has two songs of his own: Sekai no Hate Made Believe Heart and Orange Rhapsody.

He will also have agreed to sing a duet with anyone who wanted to take time to prepare for it. Also, his saxophone skills could also be borrowed.

GIVEN

They perform two songs- "Yoru ga Akeru" (The Dawn will come) and "Hetakuso" ("I suck/I'm bad [at this]").

The first song is performed under all different shades of light blue and orange/yellow lights as if imitating the 'Dawn'. The second song has more of a cheerful tone with all of the colorful lights being used, with reds, yellows, and greens more predominant, to accompany the cheerful tune.

KITSUNO

Kitsuno will perform a fusion dance, clad in what will her flowing red robes— the music may start off slow, but as she continues to dance, it'll change to different songs that are faster and enthusiastic. It'll be quite a sight with her using hand fans in creative display, and using sleight of hand to make "transformations" happen with her fans- turning them into a parasol, scarves, flowers and the like.

( Her dancing will go from traditional to something like in these music/ dance videos ) and be quite a spectacle, with it ending with her phoenix familiar and guardian familiar fox from home to join in at the end in a sparkling, floral finish! )

Ren Jinguji | Uta no Prince-sama

Backstage

Ren was mostly his cool self on the backstage. He was rarely nervous before a performance and he had a good feeling about this one. Especially since he had zero health issues, thanks to a thoughtful gift from Lady Morganna, after he sent her an invite.

Most he did to prepare himself was to hum any of the songs he was going to perform to himself or go through the performance with anyone he would be sharing the stage with. Otherwise, he was either checking up on others or relaxing while he waited for his turn.


On the stage
(A speech)

It was the second time Ren was about to perform a song, but instead of starting right away, he took a moment to make a speech.

"How are you enjoying the concert so far?" he asked, smiling at the positive response. "I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in making this concert happen. Without you, this wouldn't have come true. I'm happy to be able to find so many people here who share the passion for music, dance or acting or doing make up and hair, or helping out with clothes. You have all been a great help and I hope we can make more events like this happen in the future as well."

Then he smiles more brightly. "Of course, none of this would be possible without you in the audience. Thank you for coming to watch our concert and supporting us through it. Let's make the rest of the concert even more awesome than it already has been!"

After his speech he begins to sing his next song before leaving the stage and returning to backstage.

After-party

Of course, Ren is there for the after-party. At least until he will likely be kidnapped for birthday celebrations. He seems happy and satisfied with the concert and eagerly chats with whoever wants to talk with him and approaches others to ask them about their feelings of today.

Ignore the fact that Camus just walked into Ren's area like he owned the place, his puffin familiar sitting on his shoulder. He'd just arrived, so he had no plan to join in and steal anyone's performance time. This time, and this time only, he would watch from the sidelines.

[ Weiss isn't a performer, but she is quick and nimble and has managed to sneak backstage. So here she is, knocking on the open door to Ren's room. ]

I haven't really been in a place like this in a while... Must be nice.

Maribelle clears her throat quietly before daring to approach Ren.

"Pardon me, I do hope I'm not interrupting anything?"

[Somehow through the grapevine Crow heard it was Ren's birthday. He wonders why he didn't say anything. Crow doesn't have a gift to give him, but he still appreciates his help a few days prior.

He'll make it up to him later! Still, he approaches the idol to congratulate him on putting on a great show.]

You were great! I didn't know you had such a sultry voice!

[He smirks as he lightly punches at his shoulder.]

And why didn't you tell anyone?! Happy Birthday!! Thank you for putting this altogether too!

After-party

There was no chance Takao would miss a chance to see Ren perform or miss his friend's birthday so of course, he is there through the whole performance. Once it is over he slips backstage to find the performer and make their way to the after-party.

He has to let his friend have a little bit of time to revel in praise for his performance before he steals him to finish celebrating his birthday properly.

As soon as he sees the strawberry blond Takao is wrapping his arms and hugging him tightly.

"Happy Birthday! You were amazing." He drops back to the flats of his feet with a huge smile on his face.

Lady of the Lake

[ The Lady of the Lake cannot set foot on land, but she can certainly travel by water, so she greatly appreciates the pool being set up for her. As always, she's wearing clothing despite being in the water, and after talking to Archimedes for a while (and nagged him to come with, but you know how he is- all horses, all the time), got him to at least get her a coral pink dress. It's picked out by a man who doesn't have much in the way of fashion standards, but it's covered in water anyway, so it's not like anyone's getting a great view of it. No shoes because what would the point even be.

It's nice to take a break before there's enough magic stored up to bring in a big batch of new arrivals again, and she can be found at the edge of the pool, facing the stage more often than not, her arms folded over the edge.

Anyone is welcome to talk to her- she definitely seems like she's more relaxed and more approachable than she is at the start of the month. ]

[ Several dozen strangers plopping into your home all at once is a valid excuse for being stressed and unapproachable, really. But the Lady is somebody Karma had been hoping to talk to, having left the bay as soon as possible and hadn't looked back, so surprised as he was at finding himself in the water and a glass bottle being pressed to his lips that he didn't register the potion as help. Whether or not the Lady remembers, Karma had spat the potion out instead of swallowing, had bit his tongue instead to keep the shock from settling in, and had escaped the water nearly frostbitten.

Here, he's bundled up nice and warm, with a cup of hot chocolate held in both hands, crouching down next to the pool. ]

Hey, it's you from before. Never got the chance to say thanks!

[Oh, hey! Darin recognizes her! She's the person in the Lake he keeps fishing people out of! At least she's nice enough to give everyone Everwarm potions. He approaches, a little surly about how he and so many others keep making entrances into Avalon when he notices she's in a pool.]

[His two braincells seem to briefly connect and suddenly he realizes why he hasn't seen her anywhere but when he made splashdown. Well, that takes away a little of his bluster.]

[Regardless, he's going to clear his throat and make a proper introduction.]

Hey there. My name's Darin Altway, Master Blacksmith. I've been by the bay where everyone seems to drop in from several times and I haven't seen you. I wanted to thank you for helping me out when I first arrived.

[Hijikata (who also comes in 3D, which his mun totally forgot during King Arthur's AMA last month... oops) was initially surprised to see the pool. Just how flashy is this concert?! But when the Lady of the Lake is announced as a special guest it all makes sense. During a break between performances he crouches by the poolside, probably coming across more like concert security than a happy attendee with his business-like attitude.]

Can I get you a drink or snack? Or are you being catered to already?

[Surely the organisers wouldn't neglect her, but better be safe than sorry! He feels that as an off-worder he owes her at least some courtesy, given her monthly efforts to save them all from drowning.]

[ It's finally time. It really hasn't been that long since the announcement of the concert, but Stella feels like she's been waiting forever. She's been counting down the days and working her butt off to reherse and basically doing everything she can think of to make sure she makes a good first impression as a performer. Sure, she's talked a lot about singing and dancing since she got here, but this is the first time anyone's going to see her up on stage. She has to make sure she gets it right.

She's already changed into her outfit for the performance, and though she's jittery and full of nervous energy, she isn't doing any last minute rehearsing – she knows that'll just wear her out before she gets on stage and she wants to be ready and raring to go.

So instead, she's just floating around between the other performers backstage, trying to work off her pre-show jitters by getting involved in everyone else's prep. ]

Oh, hey! D'you need a hand? I'm free for a bit before my song!

[ Or, if you're looking a little nervous, she might sidle up to you with a big, sympathetic smile. ]

Feeling kinda worked up about it? Don't worry! I know you're gonna kill it out there!

performance & immediately post-performance

[ If you thought Stella was high-energy before... you ain't seen nothing yet. She comes rushing out onto the stage with a big smile on her face, literally twinkling and sparkling thanks to her light magic. When she gets to the center of the stage, she punches the air, and starts her introduction. ]

Helloooooooooo, Avalon! ❤ [ Then she gives a playful double take, like she's just now seeing the crowd for the first time. ] Whoa, there's so many of you out here today! Thanks so, so much for coming out to see us!

I'm Prism Pink and today's my first time up on stage since I arrived but I couldn't be more pumped up to be performing for you guys! Let's hype it up and have an awesome time! ★

[ And with that, Stella launches into her performance. A bunch of you will definitely have seen snippets of this before if you've caught her rehearsing, but something about being on stage seems to have flipped on a switch in her brain and she's brighter and sharper and even more on point than she was during her practice runs. There's no other words for it but in her element.

When she finally wraps up her song, Stella only stays on stage long enough to take in the cheers and applause from the crowd and give them a huge burst of sparkles in return. ]

Aaahh, thanks so much, you guys! It's been a blast! ❤ Happy Valentine's Day!

[ And off she goes, to let the next act move onto the stage. She's still all aflutter from the rush of being onstage, but the instant she's far enough backstage to find a seat, she all but collapses into it. ]

Oh my Goodddd, that was so scary! Holy crap, how do people perform solo all the time?! My heart's gonna pop right out of my chest!

[ But she sounds delighted. Hyped up, as she'd put it out there on stage. ]

[ You'd think that Stella would be absolutely everywhere at this party, but letting out all of that excited energy with her performance seems to have brought her back down to just under her normal energy levels – she's even a little exhausted! She spends the first chunk of the party just hovering at the snack table and refueling, glugging water and scarfing snacks like she's never been fed or watered before. If she's approached or spots someone on the way to get some food, she'll give a big grin, with a flash of her usual sunny energy. ]

Thank God there's so much to eat, huh? I was so worked up about the show I could barely eat a thing all morning. I'm starved!

[ Once she's had a chance to percolate a bit and restore some HP, she goes out of her way to track down some of her fellow performers and pops up with sparkling eyes to give them their dues. ]

You absolutely nailed it out there! Seriously, you rocked! Even from backstage, it was so, so awesome to watch!

[ Or of course, if you want to approach Stella to talk about her performance or just ask what the heck that 'Prism Pink' business was about, she's more than open to anybody who wants to come and chat. ]

[ Ichiban is pretty starstruck to be allowed into this after party. He's never gotten to hang out with this kind of crowd before back home! He's having a great time getting impromptu tutorials on some of the dances from the performers themselves?! And yeah, probably eating some of the snacks. He sticks out in the room. His hair is a mess from a perm that went wrong once upon a time, he's big, he's buff, his suit is ugly. But the genuine smile and enthusiasm on his face is infectious. ]

Hey! [ He greets her with an eager wave. ] You were Pink prism! I liked your dance.

Crow | Show By Rock!!

Backstage!!
[Crow is preparing for his turn, and he can feel the pre-show jitters starting to affect him. It's not like this is his first show. He has experience being in front of large audiences and has many performances under his belt. Though, this is the first time he's doing it alone. His bandmates aren't here to help pump him up.

He tries to distract himself by watching the other performances, but he only becomes even more aware that his time's coming. He taps his foot nervously against the floor, red eyes in a daze as he runs over all of the possible ways he could screw this up. He starts feeling nauseous as his stomach churns in anticipation. This has to stop!

He snaps out it and turns to the person closest to him.]

Hey, do me a favor? Hit me!

[It's a weird request, but it's the only way he can get rid of these detrimental thoughts. Rom always did this ritual before any of their shows, and it always helped Crow get over his anxiety. Perhaps that's what he needs now? Just a good smack!]

Don't be shy! Just give me all you got!

On The stage

[Crow's time had finally come. Once he steps onto the stage his confidence skyrockets, and he steps into his role of performers like slipping on a glove. The lights on the stage are off, so the audience doesn't see him standing in front of them until a red spotlight shines down on him. He begins not with a song, but an introduction:]

♫ A miracle born in a wavering moment, clad in crimson scarlet~ Crow has arrived!♫

[On cue, Onyx, Crow's familiar takes flight to sprinkle crimson feathers over the audience as he continues his monologue.]

Listen, all you cattle! My scarlet hymns will send you all to Elysium!

[ Crow will finally start singing. Maybe, the audience will stick around if they aren't offended by being called cattle.]

After-party

[Now that the concert is over, Crow can finally relax. It was satisfying to sing again, even if he's doing it without his bandmates. Crow will be mingling with the other performers, still energized by the adrenaline rush of the stage. He's not going to drink any alcohol since his throat is still kind of sore from his laryngitis, but that's not going to stop him from talking.]

I was pretty impressed by your performance! We should totally collaborate!

[Even if you didn't perform, the redhead is happy to chat you up as well. He wants to know how he did! Great, right?!]

That was awesome, wasn't it? I hope you enjoyed yourself and don't be afraid to ask for my autograph, it's gonna be in high demand!

Clean-up Crew

[ Thanks to life on the farm, Crow is an early riser. So he's back at the theater bright and early to help clean up. He's grateful to have a place to sing, so he wants to express that gratitude by making sure the space they used is clean.]

A: Backstage

Aurora pressed her hands to her lips, worried, in many ways about doing this. She had never performed before.

She wasn't sure if this song would do, what with the much more modern songs being played on stage before her. But... this was a Valentine's Day concert and... it WAS a love song.

Her owl nuzzled her cheek. Trying to reassure her but she takes a step back, rethinking this when she runs into someone.

"Oh! My apologies, I didn't- I'm sorry, I'm just so terribly nervous."

B: On Stage

She didn't really know what other song to sing or what other way to sing it. Everyone's was so much more upbeat than hers.

Aurora listened and began to sing closing her eyes as she waltzed and flitted across the stage. It was much softer and gentler than the other songs but it was no less sincere. She knew it was a special occasion so Aurora was wearing her gown that her aunts had made her.

C: After-Party

When the concert is all over, Aurora doesn't entirely know what to make of it, what to make of her performance or what others thought of it. She just knows that it's over and done with and while a very nice, new experience, she would rather never get up on stage again if she can help it.

For the moment she is keeping to herself, feeling a bit of a fool when she goes to get something to drink.

"I think, perhaps, we should go," she whispers to her owl. Her hand bumps into someone else's as she reaches for a bottle of water. "Oh, I- please, take it."

"Aurora!" Mickey doesn't mind being bumped into - with his height, it kinda happens all the time - but this time he's rather glad. "I've been lookin' all over for you! You were wonderful up there!"

Backstage

[Goodness, this is only the second time that Nyuu's ever performed on the stage of an actual theater with the focus on her. Sure, her and Lucy have joined Camelot's opera troupe, but they've only had background roles so far where people probably didn't pay much attention to them. Some of her opera colleagues might even be in the audience! It's nerve-racking yet exciting. To work off some of her nervous energy, she's just pacing back and forth in her room, only pausing when she hears a knock.]

Come in!

On Stage

[After taking a deep breath, Nyuu walks on stage, lighting reflecting off her purple earrings. The two small birds she's recruited flutter past her and settle on the tree stage prop. They twitter some encouraging words to her. Nyuu smiles at them before turning that smile to the audience (oh my, is that the Lady of the Lake???). She doesn't have a preamble to say, so the music intro begins and she sings at the right moment. The birds sing with her during the laughter and parts when she holds a note, or makes it fluctuate on purpose.

When she hears the applause, Nyuu's smile only widens and she gives an elegant bow.]

T-Thank you very much!

After-party

[Nyuu is not alone at the after-party. She's feeding her two bird friends some seeds from her hand.]

Thank you very much for your hard work. You were both great! I'll be sure to get a bird feeder once I move out of the hotel.

[ Mickey runs, opens his mouth - hesitates, trying to make sure which one this is, then nods to himself in confirmation - then calls for his friend. ]

[ Maribelle is... surprisingly nervous. It's not like she's never performed before, but this is a larger audience than she's used to - plus, look at how everyone is dressed! She didn't think they were supposed to be wearing gaudy (okay, fine, some of you look great) outfits and making a gigantic show.

It makes her upcoming violin solo seem... dull. The white bird on her shoulder, her familiar, tries to comfort her with a pat of its wing. ]

Hmmm... maybe this was a bad idea...

After-Party

[ The applause after her performance certainly helped her nerves! She's proud as a peacock, strutting here and there as she takes in the party treats.]

I'd almost forgotten what a proper violin felt like under my fingers! Of course, it was clear no one would have ever guessed that... this has turned out to be a most delightful evening.

[Crow doesn't really know much about other instruments besides the guitar, but he thought Maribelle's performance was beautiful. He walks over to the blonde to applaud her musical skills.]

That was great! I was really moved by your playing. Although...

[And here's where he messes up his compliment.]

...that monologue in the beginning nearly put me to sleep! Maybe you should shorten it next time.

For You, From the Stage

[It takes several moments for the stage to be set up properly for a band to perform. There's a microphone stand in the middle of the stage, the drums just behind it, with the blond drummer connecting the cables properly and then taking a seat. Kaji is twirling one of the drumsticks between his fingers as he waits for everyone else to get ready.

Their bassist, Haruki, was done as well, tuning his own guitar and occasionally chatting with Kaji, and then walking briefly up to the microphone to introduce the band as "Given".
Uenoyama finished tuning his own guitar, and turns on the amplifiers, giving their vocalist, a nod. They all take their places- Haruki to the right, Uenoyama to the left, drums slightly in the back.

Then, stepping forward to the mic and making a long, drawn-out pause, a prelude to their most recent song from CAC competition, resonating across the crowd, Mafuyu starts singing-]

Nemurenakute mo yoru wa akeru (Even if I can't sleep, a new day will dawn)
sore wo boku wa nagameteiru (As I gaze out into it)

[-and after the first two acapella lines, the band follows matching the rhythm and Mafuyu's voice, syncing up great, despite the lack of performances since they've arrived here. They probably sound even better than when they performed at the competition.

They close the performance with "song still getting polished but good for performance". If anyone has a keen eye, they might notice the guitarist getting tips of his ears red. The song starts off with very cheerful riffs of the guitar, drums, and bass, making quite an ear-wormy tune. And Mafuyu makes it even better-]

[After they are done with their songs, all members of the band come to the edge of the stage to bow and wave, Haruki thanking everyone for coming and listening to their songs. And with that, they leave to the backstage.]

Uenoyama (Given) - mingle

1. Backstage

[With the guitar slung over his shoulders, he's practicing several riffs from the songs that they will play. He doesn't look nervous at all; people that do know him can tell that he's excited about this from the way his fingers are expertly strumming, warming up before the big show.
But, he can't see any of his bandmates yet. They aren't late, are they!? Uenoyama pauses in his practice to look up and around the place, spotting a lot of performers.]

Hey, [he stops one passing by] have you seen my bandmates? [Maybe Uenoyama's the one that's lost here. It happened before!]

2. After-party

[Partying isn't Uenoyama's forte. He's not anti-social by any means, but he's also not... good at this either. He usually spends time after big show with Mafuyu, talking about what they did good or wrong and just being, well, them. It's also usually always late so they don't have to worry about things.

But there's a bustle of people around here, the buttoned-up shirt is suffocating him (it didn't on stage?) and the newest piercing he got, the earring, is itching for him to get it off (it didn't itch before!). He picks up one of the red cups and downs whatever it is in it, then makes a face.]

Was that... [Yes, it probably was. Whoops.
