Let’s make this day the best in the world | Valentine's Day Concert

🧙 WHO: Anyone and everyone
⚔️️ WHAT: Valentine's Day Concert
🕒 WHEN: February 14th
🗺️ WHERE: At the theater in Camelot
⚠️ WARNINGS: None that I can think of, will edit if needed.

Backstage

Backstage was a busy place during the whole concert. There were people getting ready, people helping people get ready and even just friends visiting them to wish them good luck (or to break a leg) or just help relieve some of the stage fright. Each artist or group had access to a room of their own if they needed some alone time. All they had to do was put up a sign that the room was in use.

On the stage

The theater stage was decorated with appropriate Valentine's Day decorations - roses, hearts and other simple, but meaningful things. The curtain would come down whenever someone needed time to prepare the stage to look different and there were several talented musicians helping out to bring live music to the stage.

As they say, they stage is for the performers to take as their own, one or several at a time.

In the audience

The audience has seatings for those who desire it, but there is also a space for anyone to stand and dance. There's plenty of space even if there is a section of the audience sectioned off for a... pool? Why was there a pool in the theater? Well, it certainly wasn't for just anyone to casually swim in but instead it was reserved for a special guest making an appearance at the concert.

The Lady of the Lake had been invited by Ren to watch the concert. To be fair, he had also invited King Arthur, Merlin and the Lady Morganna, but only the Lady of the Lake had accepted the invitation (although looking at Merlin's instagram afterwards may prove different, as he was there but just under a disguise).

Snacks and beverages are also being served at the theater lobby. Of course, since it was Valentine's Day, there was plenty of chocolate to go around.

After-party

While the after-party was mostly aimed at performers to celebrate a successful concert, no one was turned away from it. Anyone wanting to visit the party to congratulate on the success or to just chat with the performers was definitely welcome to.

The party was hosted at the theater too, since why not use the space you needed to clean up the next day anyway. Anyone was also welcome to join the clean up process the next day as well, but Ren certainly wouldn't force anyone to help out.

Haruki-san, are you used to parties like this?

[Mafuyu's body language alone is probably enough to convey that he's highly out of his element. If this weren't rooted in music, he probably wouldn't wind up talking to anyone on his own...]

Thanks. We can share.

[Until Haruki goes to get his own food, anyway. It would be rude to snack on this without offering to share, especially when it was brought to him in the first place! Don't mind him taking a cracker off of the plate for himself.]

All of them. [Without missing a beat.] But... I like the ones where you can feel what the music is trying to convey the most.

Yeah I've been to a few of them. They aren't bad sometimes there's a lot of people there, though it depends on what day the party happens. [Weekends tended to have more people, though that was his experience whenever he went to parties with Take-chan. Seeing Mafuyu's body language may have been another reason why Haruki quickly visited him. He knew these type of parties were better with someone you knew.]

Sure, if you don't mind. [Haruki would do it again! He doesn't mind! He would turn down Mafuyu though that would be rude.]

I really liked those too. There are so many people here with talent I want to see them perform again. [He may have been pumped since their concert.]

Mmn...

[Is this what college parties are like? Mafuyu's been to small gatherings, of course, but nothing he could really compare to this. Crowded places aren't really his forte, but being here celebrating music is a lot different than, say, being crammed into one of Tokyo's morning trains or caught in a swath of people in Shibuya.]

I've never seen people sing without instruments. [Not live on stage, anyway. Mafuyu's listened to a lot of music since joining the band, but in spite of seeing performances at the live house, he hasn't actually had the opportunity to see any solo performers.] Haruki-san. You like idols, don't you? And pop music.

Sometimes the parties can be small too like four people you know. It really depends on who's throwing it. [Sometimes Haruki was busy when a big party was going on or he ended up going with Take-chan. Well, alcohol could be found with some of the older students on campus, though he would mention if Mafuyu had any other questions about it.]

I've managed to see a few. Since I've been watching bands play I'll forget that they don't have to set up any instruments before going on stage.

[He was lucky enough to know a few people who would take him to those concerts. Haruki reached for something else on the plate while he listened to Mafuyu. He looked up and nodded at the question.]

I do. I have a couple of artists I listen to back home. I know it's one of those popular catchy songs that you'll see on commercials, but there have been some great songs on their albums. Why? Are you interested in listening to some?

[Mafuyu certainly knows about idols and pop artists. They're always on TV and their music plays in all of the convenience stores and shopping malls. And while Mafuyu has checked out a few of them online, he's found that he likes CDs better, so he's mostly enjoyed listening to the things he's borrowed from Kaji and Uenoyama.]

If you have any recommendations, I want to hear them.

[He pauses to take a sip of juice, considering the options.]

If their music is here... or on your phone.

Sure, I have some songs you might like. Let me go look them up.

[He liked to listen to them back at work that he made about two playlists. He wondered if he could pull it up in this new world. Haruki pulled out his phone and looked through it before he found his playlists then handed his phone over to Mafuyu.]

I know there's a lot of artists on there, but their music is really good. I have two playlists in case there's something on the other one you might like. Let me know if you want to listen to more. I have another group when I started college in my library somewhere. I like listening to them when I have some down time too. I'd love to know your opinion on them.

Now?

[Hmm... Scrolling down, he recognizes some of these artists, but only by name. In usual Mafuyu fashion, he takes a while to look it over, carefully looking at each song.]

Can I borrow it later? I'll give it back.

[That's what the word borrow means.]

If you like their music, I want to hear it.

[Haruki took a few pieces of food from the plate while Mafuyu looked at the choices. He may have gotten a little excited about showing off his music choices.]

Sure thing, you can return it when you're ready.

[It's not like he needed his phone for work like back home. Well, that made him feel nice.]

Thanks Mafuyu, I'm sure you'll find a couple of artists you'll like on there. What do you like to listen to back home?

I've gotten through almost everything Kaji-san lent me. And I listen to Uenoyama-kun's recommendations.

[That shouldn't come as any sort of surprise, but Haruki can probably infer that the selection is everything from metal to classical to UK rock... and pop is where it's lacking the most.]

I just... want to learn. About everything I can. But it's different here.
