Backstage

Backstage was a busy place during the whole concert. There were people getting ready, people helping people get ready and even just friends visiting them to wish them good luck (or to break a leg) or just help relieve some of the stage fright. Each artist or group had access to a room of their own if they needed some alone time. All they had to do was put up a sign that the room was in use.

On the stage

The theater stage was decorated with appropriate Valentine's Day decorations - roses, hearts and other simple, but meaningful things. The curtain would come down whenever someone needed time to prepare the stage to look different and there were several talented musicians helping out to bring live music to the stage.

As they say, they stage is for the performers to take as their own, one or several at a time.

In the audience

The audience has seatings for those who desire it, but there is also a space for anyone to stand and dance. There's plenty of space even if there is a section of the audience sectioned off for a... pool? Why was there a pool in the theater? Well, it certainly wasn't for just anyone to casually swim in but instead it was reserved for a special guest making an appearance at the concert.

The Lady of the Lake had been invited by Ren to watch the concert. To be fair, he had also invited King Arthur, Merlin and the Lady Morganna, but only the Lady of the Lake had accepted the invitation (although looking at Merlin's instagram afterwards may prove different, as he was there but just under a disguise).

Snacks and beverages are also being served at the theater lobby. Of course, since it was Valentine's Day, there was plenty of chocolate to go around.


After-party

While the after-party was mostly aimed at performers to celebrate a successful concert, no one was turned away from it. Anyone wanting to visit the party to congratulate on the success or to just chat with the performers was definitely welcome to.

The party was hosted at the theater too, since why not use the space you needed to clean up the next day anyway. Anyone was also welcome to join the clean up process the next day as well, but Ren certainly wouldn't force anyone to help out.

Aurora gave a small nod and took a deep breath, trying to gather her courage.

"Yes. To be honest, it's my first time performing in front of PEOPLE, at the very least, on purpose." She sang for her aunts, but they were fairies. She sang for her animal friends. She sang and summoned her peasant boy. That was it. One human in sixteen years.

"I don't suppose you have some advice?"

"Me?" He gives an awkward laugh, rubbing the back of his head. "I'm not really a performer, I'm just helping out."

But he'd feel bad if he just walked away and left her feeling nervous. He'll have to think of something?

"I mean... I think the most important thing is that you're having a really good time? Or a really bad time, I guess, depending on what kind of music you play," he chuckles encouragingly. "If you're having a good time, your audience will too."

[beautyrest]

"That is very kind of you, all the same. Especially with everything going on, all the help is needed, wherever and whatever it may be," she smiled.

"A bad time? I don't think I could ever have a bad time while singing. Singing brings me a kind of peace and happiness that nothing else in this world can. Even if I sing out in sorrow, I cannot stay that way by the end. So, I shall take comfort in your statement, though. I was not aware the audience would be so affected by my own mood."

"Sometimes music about having a bad time can be..." He's not the most eloquent dude around, he's really trying to think of how to say it without making himself sound like an idiot. "A relief! It lets you get some energy off your chest without personally having to go through something hard."

He laughs at his own description a little bit. He'd tried, but it still wasn't great.

"I'm glad it makes you happy though. That's really what I prefer when I do karaoke. You just have to do your best to share that with your audience! They all probably came to feel all your happiness alongside you."

[beautyrest]

"I will certainly try my best to convey it, thank you. I really hope I am well suited to such a task. Raising the spirits of others is... truly a miraculous gift, I think."

As he continued, Aurora tilted her head.

"Karaoke? I am afraid I have not heard this word before. What does it mean? Is it a type of song?"

[victorytune]

"Oh right! Karaoke is really popular in Japan, where I'm from."

He assumes that the Japanese word was just confusing, not that she's a fantasy Princess and of course she wouldn't know. He's very generous and oblivious like that.

"It's when you and a bunch of friends get together to take turns signing different songs together! There's usually a monitor screen with the lyrics on it and then just the instrumental stuff will play so you can have your own performance!"

He really likes karaoke and relays this with enthusiasm, hands gesturing very physically.

"It's a great way to bond with your friends, because the point isn't about how well you're singing but that you're there having fun regardless. Usually there's, uh, some or a lot of drinking involved."

[beautyrest]

"Well, that does sound like fun, I love singing with my friends!" In that, she sings, and they listen or dance alongside her. Her animal friends aren't all that able to join in in a traditional fashion.

Though, she hadn't minded when that peasant boy had sung with her either...

But no, she had to push him form her thoughts, she was never going to see him again.

"I'm afraid I don't know any modern songs though, and I am not so sure such a place exists here. Still, it is a lovely thought."

[victorytune]

"I bet anyone here would teach you their songs," Ichiban suggests, his arms spreading eagerly to encompass everyone who put in their time to this concert.

"If they can put together this, they can definitely put together a karaoke bar somewhere."

If not... well, he'll probably miss doing karaoke with friends enough that he could take it on as a project. Someone with way more experience than him would be a better choice though.

[beautyrest]

"It does sound fun. Perhaps you could! You seem very knowledgable on them, I am sure you know what each one needs."

[victorytune]

"I don't know about that," he laughs, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "I'm usually just a patron, somebody else is running the bar."

[beautyrest]

"Often a patron has a keen enough eye, especially when something does and doesn't work."

[victorytune]

"Heheh, I guess you're right! Well, I do know nobody can really do the whole thing by themselves. I guess I'll ask around a little and see what crops up."

If he has to spearhead the campaign of 'bring karaoke to Avalon' himself, he'll do it.

[beautyrest]

"Well, if I can assist in some way, please let me know, though I do not know how much help I would be as I have never experienced it."

[victorytune]

"We'll need guests for sure!"

He does a short little bow to say thanks for the offer.

"I'll look forward to it, Miss... Uh. Oh sorry, I just talked your ear off and didn't even introduce myself. I'm Ichiban! Ichiban Kasuga."

He bows again, a little dip of his head.

[beautyrest]

"Aurora, a pleasure to meet you, Ichiban," she offered a curtsy in return to his bow.

"And I will be sure to pay patronage once it is up and running."
