Let’s make this day the best in the world | Valentine's Day Concert

Backstage

Backstage was a busy place during the whole concert. There were people getting ready, people helping people get ready and even just friends visiting them to wish them good luck (or to break a leg) or just help relieve some of the stage fright. Each artist or group had access to a room of their own if they needed some alone time. All they had to do was put up a sign that the room was in use.

On the stage

The theater stage was decorated with appropriate Valentine's Day decorations - roses, hearts and other simple, but meaningful things. The curtain would come down whenever someone needed time to prepare the stage to look different and there were several talented musicians helping out to bring live music to the stage.

As they say, they stage is for the performers to take as their own, one or several at a time.

In the audience

The audience has seatings for those who desire it, but there is also a space for anyone to stand and dance. There's plenty of space even if there is a section of the audience sectioned off for a... pool? Why was there a pool in the theater? Well, it certainly wasn't for just anyone to casually swim in but instead it was reserved for a special guest making an appearance at the concert.

The Lady of the Lake had been invited by Ren to watch the concert. To be fair, he had also invited King Arthur, Merlin and the Lady Morganna, but only the Lady of the Lake had accepted the invitation (although looking at Merlin's instagram afterwards may prove different, as he was there but just under a disguise).

Snacks and beverages are also being served at the theater lobby. Of course, since it was Valentine's Day, there was plenty of chocolate to go around.

After-party

While the after-party was mostly aimed at performers to celebrate a successful concert, no one was turned away from it. Anyone wanting to visit the party to congratulate on the success or to just chat with the performers was definitely welcome to.

The party was hosted at the theater too, since why not use the space you needed to clean up the next day anyway. Anyone was also welcome to join the clean up process the next day as well, but Ren certainly wouldn't force anyone to help out.

The first is: when hypnotizing someone, if they are aware you're compelling them, they can fulfill the order by any means that fits the word of the hypnosis even if they can't resist it. Say exactly what you want and even someone more experienced could have trouble.

[ Is it obvious she likes him yet? Despite that he's trying to push her buttons, she's actually the playful sort. Telling him this sounds like fun. ]

[ Helpful, too, to be aware that he must be very careful to be precise with his words, and only only when he's making fun. ]

And more helpful than I expected! In fact, why don'tcha tell me three more useful tips about how to use my magic?

[ She laughs. What a brat he is. She's gonna hold him under the water if he tries it again. She holds up her fingers. ]

You cannot make someone do something they're against deep down in their core. [ two ] You can't change someone's entire dreamscape when you dreamwalk, but with some practice, you can create items with your thoughts within the dream. [ And three: ] You can't make other people think things, but you can change the voice you're thinking in your own head, so if you can imagine yourself talking in another voice, you can sometimes trick people into thinking your thoughts are theirs.

[ She puts her hands back in the water and shakes her head at him. ]

Now that you've done that, if you try again, I'll have to pull you into this pool and pull you right through to the White Cliffs and you can walk home. And I'm not giving you the treasure map I was going to send to your bathroom sink as my second tip.

[ Oh, that is very fun... For however much he laments his magic not being volatile enough in combat, he really has no need for anything more than his fists and his wits when going up against an opponent, human or monster. But a magic that lets him persuade and get into people's heads is a magic that exudes power and control— and best of all, staves off boredom. Because there's nothing worse than a boring existence.

The Lady is anything but boring, and Karma can't help but feel like he's playing right into the palm of her hands. Who can blame him? Tips he hasn't gotten out of anybody else or all the books he's able to find on the subject, and the tantalizing promise of a treasure map...

Goddamn he wants that treasure map. He feels like such a middle schooler, but!! ]

Heh... No magic from me, for now, then! [ With the "for now" sort of slid in there just in case, since she's such a stickler for precise wording ] What if I just ask for that treasure map, pretty please?

I did say you were greedy.

[ She's just teasing him, of course. Well, the treasure map really does exist, but she's not inclined to give it to him now. ]

Let's see.. you're cogni so.. how about you hypnotize a different otherworlder to send me a different snack from Camelot for 7 days in a row. They all have to be edible, tasty, in tact, and safe to eat. Nothing that is not in a standard recipe for those snacks. No tricks. You cannot ask their permission first. If I get all 7 because your hypnotism is strong enough it hasn't been broken 7 days in a row at a distance, I'll give it to you.

[ She'll definitely tell each of the people who show up that it was Karma's fault and he can deal with the probably very annoyed people, but she really does have a treasure map. But he seems like the type who would find this fun, anyway. If he's gonna play with her, she's gonna play with him. ]

Haha! Who's the greedy one here?

[ Wow! look at her requesting an entourage of food in exchange for a treasure map. It's fair, though, thinking through the criteria she lays out, and the incentive to practice his magic is clear as well— it would be a waste of his time and energy to start hypnotizing people right away without a strong grasp of his magic, and would only net the Lady intermittent free snacks in the meantime. It's like something Koro-sensei would come up with, he thinks to himself, where in focusing on the end goal, you inadvertently grow in all other aspects of your life in the process. ]

You got yourself a deal.

[ Spoilers: he plans to have people send her spicy snacks. They will be edible, tasty, in tact, and safe to eat. Just very very spicy, because she never specified who has to think they're tasty (': Karma thinks they're tasty. It counts. ]

All I'm asking for is snacks and a little fun, you get treasure!

[ She can't even use the treasure map since she can't leave the water, though.

She doesn't usually get a lot of spices in the lake, so she's gonna definitely have a time with that. ]

I look forward to it. Once you're sure the last one's delivered, fill your bath with water and I'll send you the map.

[ What she needs to do is get a list of everybody who did the elf parade quest, because those are the people who would hoist a plastic kiddie pool onto their shoulders and have her join on a treasure hunting adventure. ]

Sure, sure~ Better keep that map at the ready, and don't give it to anybody else! I won't keep you waiting long.

[ He's never done anything magic before in his life. But who cares! Where he lacks talent, Karma's always been a hard worker, and more than makes up for things in that way. ]

It's not going anywhere. You should though. Don't tell me you're planning on spending this whole concert with someone like me?

[ He should go have fun with the concert! ]

I could. You have one of the best seats in the house, and concerts by design can be heard anywhere in the room.

[ Honestly, he came here for the snacks and general curiosity, not with any real interest or knowledge of who is all performing. He got to talk to The Lady! That more than makes up for the time spent being here. ]

They should've told you people to wear a bathing suit, you could hop in.

[ It's still super cold out, so that's probably not the best idea for people who don't live in a lake 24/7. ]

[ Bathing suits at a Valentines concert... There are probably party planners out here that could make it work. ]

Hey, do you have to be submerged in water, or can any amount do?

[ He points up to the ceiling where there are maybe fire sprinklers. There should be! or there would be OSHA violations all around. ]

I can stand around in a deep puddle, but the sprinklers aren't going to work any more than the moisture in the air does. Very creative, though.

[ But they probably shouldn't ruin the concert for everyone else. ]

[ If the sprinklers are left on for long enough, they could create a deep puddle... but never mind ruining the concert, the food and drink would get ruined this way and that's no good. ]

Aw, too bad. At least it's been pretty rainy lately, so there's deep puddles everywhere for you to get around it. Come out and play sometimes, when you're not saving hapless strangers dropping out of the sky!

I'll think about it if I get bored. Too bad you'd drown, there's a lot of treasure under the water.

[ Well, that's because when stuff gets lost to the sea, sometimes it ends up getting sucked into magic realms... You know the deal, Bermuda Triangle, etc etc ]

[ ...Damn, why couldn't he get elemental magic instead, that would've made underwater breathing a cinch. Instead, he's got to make friends to co-op with /: ]

You can't do anything about the drowning, Miss "I can control water on a whim"?

[ Miss all-powerful Lady of the Lake!!! ]

I know how to make a potion that can do it, but I'm not going to do everything for you.

[ Get off your ass and figure something out yourself, Karma. :) ]

[ What's the point if she can do it!! Karma sticks his tongue out at her. ]

Right. Oh, and dresses that flow well in water never hurt.

[ If it gets all stiff and she can't wear it then it's useless, but flowy stuff she can move her legs in is fine, and it gives her that weird magic look.

To be honest, if humans weren't such prudes about nudity and she didn't have to talk about it every time she met one, she wouldn't even bother because clothes are kind of a hassle underwater all the time, but it is what it is. ]

I'll give you one Potion of Underwater Breathing for each dress I like. They last about an hour.

[ Just go nude, everybody else can close their eyes if it bothers them. ]

You're really hell bent on getting me to work with others, huh? [ He's a 14 year old boy! what does he know about nice flowy dresses ]

You got yourself a deal. Am I just dumping those into the lake when I get them?

That's your own problem if you don't have a fashion sense.

[ If he could pick them out on his own, she wouldn't complain! It's still funny though- she might ask him about it later. ]

Toss them right in. I'll come get them.

[ Boooo. At least he has a couple people in mind to ask about dresses, and he will pick out out himself too, only because I'm a sucker for pretty dresses and like looking up pictures. ]

Haha, who needs your true name when I can just summon you with dresses? But alright! I think I got enough on my plate now. Coming to this concert really was worth it, in the end!

[ Yeah, but she can just show up under the water and snatch them if she's not in the mood, so she likes this better. Though she does like Karma, so he's probably got a better chance that most at getting her to stick around. ]

Because you've got the best friend in all of Avalon now, hm?

[ She's just teasing, of course. From there, she props her arms up on the side of the pool and rests her head to watch the concert. ]
