Second: Quest Calling (Feb Catchall)
🧙 WHO: Mukuro Ikusaba and OPEN
⚔️️ WHAT: Doing some quests, being socially awkward with the local wildlife
🕒 WHEN: Throughout February
🗺️ WHERE: Various
⚠️ WARNINGS: Violence in the quests probably (will update as needed)
1) A Little Conversation
Mukuro had been trying to get a handle on suddenly having magic. Despite the seemingly supernatural levels of abilities the Ultimates at her school had, it was nothing compared to real magic. And, if she was to be honest with herself, she had literally no idea how to start learning. It wasn't like learning how to use a weapon at all!
But she wasn't about to give up!
Most mornings, she could be found around and about Brocéliande forest trying to...awkwardly strike up conversation with the local wildlife whilst her huge Hellhound found a shady spot nearby to nap.
"So, like...do you like carrots or whatever?"
To say the least, from the look the rabbit gave her before it raced off, it did not approve of the question.
2) The Libryrinth 🗡️
The rumours about the Library and whatever lay within certainly intrigued her. It sounded like a paranoid person had been jumping to conclusions from the original post, but then she noticed one of the weird symbols when she'd pulled out a book on animal care.
"...Maybe there is some truth in those rumours."
Well, it was late afternoon by now. Stealth and infiltration weren't out of her scope - even if doing so wearing Junko's obnoxious fashion was a task in itself - so maybe she should look into this one, after all.
3) A Tall Order 🛡️
"Ergh, seriously, do these things have to be so patronising?"
Initially, Mukuro was trying to work out a way to manage one of those sedan chairs all by herself... however, this was definitely not going according to plan. The elves were, to say the least, taking no time in pointing out that she was a disappointment and that this wasn't going anywhere fast.
"Oh shut up, I'm doing you guys a favour already!"
4) Wildcard!
[ooc: As always, feel free to PM me or ping me on Discord @ ArchangelAmy#4540 if there's something special you'd like to do with her!]

a tall order
And then, there's one sedan chair that's not moving at all. Akira approaches it from behind and lifts it before replying to a familiar voice. ]
I guess it runs in their blood or something.
[ He's pretty sure that he's heard an elf mumble inside that they're not paying them for talking. That makes him think about the actual reward. ]
You okay there?
no subject
[She was a bit surprised as the back of the chair lifted up - with her at the front, that definitely made carrying it a lot easier.
Almost like it was designed for two people, who would have thought?]
Yeah...thanks. Carrying it myself really wasn't working.
[That was a familiar voice.]
no subject
[ Akira should know better than to tease these elves, yet he can't help himself. ]
The jobs are getting weirder and weirder every month. At least we don't have to get on all fours and carry them on our backs.
[ This month, at least. ]
no subject
Ergh, don't give them ideas, they're gonna insist we do that next at this rate.
Gonna start walking now, 'kay?
[She's going to start making her way down to the beach, trying to ignore the grumbling that they weren't being lifted as high as some of the others.]
Seriously, I'm already wearing heels, what else do you want me to do??
no subject
[ It would be really unwise to give ideas to these little jerks, she's absolutely right. ]
Hey, how about this.
[ While Akira can't tell her the details of the plan, he starts shaking the sedan chair, almost making one of the elves fall out. ]

One might not think a large mech with glowing red visor would probably be great in a stealth and infiltration mission. But when it's a light-footed Cybertronian with years of experience as a spy, it's certainly possible. One benefit of not being 30foot tall anymore is that his steps don't let out a slight tremor on the ground and his footsteps are much more quieter. Which certainly helps a lot when he no longer has access to his holoavatar.]
... Junko? Did you find something interesting?
[Hopefully hearing his voice so close from behind doesn't surprise her too much, because he practically walks up to her with near-silent footsteps.]
no subject
That's...I have no idea how you snuck up on me like that.
[She was definitely impressed!]
But, yeah, look- there's some weird symbol hidden under where this book was.
no subject
[Obviously, he said, not really explaining anything at all. But anyways, he tilts his head to look at the symbol she found.]
Hm, the notice said there are more of this hidden symbol he found. Perhaps if we find more- a pattern, maybe -they may be truth in what was written on the noticeboard... Although this may just be an elaborate joke or whoever is making up their own stories about the symbols. [He will remain skeptical, despite Mukuro's find.]
no subject
[She, too, wasn't entirely convinced of this just yet.]
So like, guess we should look around see if there's any more of them right?
no subject
[And so, he'll move on ahead before her, peering into the shelves and pulling out books to look for that exact symbol she found. Notably, if she pays attention at all to this, his footsteps don't produce a sound at all.
Will this end up being a huge waste of time, or will this actually lead to something...]

[ Karma lets his voice carry across the aisle to announce his presence, a thick book in his hand that he rests on his shoulder, the spine angled in such a way that Mukuro can see the symbol catching the light on the fabric.
It's a book about rocks, not really anything a person would find by chance or interest, suggesting that it was searched for intentionally. ]
Is that the first one you found?
no subject
[Mukuro sighed, turning to face the stranger and showing him her own book.]
Yeah, this is the first one. Why, how many more of these things have you found?
no subject
[ Not rocks, really, but he takes a look at the book he's handed, studying the cover first, the symbol hidden on it, taking a step back to note where it was found. ]
Three or four, so far. Symbols like these, hidden messages... they're meant to be found. Once we've found them all, it should be easy to find out what they all mean.
no subject
[She hoped it wasn't a prank, but really couldn't tell at this point.]
So, like, you been able to put anything together yet? Or does it all look random so far?
no subject
[ Whether or not she means to check the book out, he places it back in its empty slot in the shelf, although upside down so he can tell at a glance it's one he's already looked at, even from a distance. Better put his own book back too, so it doesn't mess anything up. ]
Too bad the rest of the books are in the far end of the library I'm not allowed into! Think you can put the librarian in a headlock or something for an hour so I can take a look undisturbed?
[ Seems like less trouble than sneaking in after hours... but direct contact with the librarian would just raise suspicion, so that's not ideal. ]

He isn't ruling out the possibility that this ends up being a wild goose chase. He almost hopes it will be because the less excitement in his life, the better.
"The notice did not mention what they wanted us to do if we discovered aught, did it?" he asks a few moments after, frowning.
no subject
For now, she put the book back on the shelf. "Nah, all it said was get up on the shelves, follow the symbols or whatever without getting caught."
no subject
People are already trickling out. If they wish to find a place to hide, it may be best to pick one now and get ready.
no subject
But yes, it did look like people were starting to file out. They didn't have too long if they wanted to avoid being spotted.
"...You wanna see if we can find somewhere to set up base until it quietens down a bit?"
no subject
Looking about, he points at a pair of armchairs tucked away between two shelves, near a window. "Let us meet there."

Are they giving you trouble?
[He really just stepped up and addressed only Mukuro. Talk about making a bad first impression! If the elves were offended at her struggles already there are audibly now gasps at this rude man acting like they're just some annoying neighbourhood brats.]
no subject
[Hopefully he wouldn't notice that slip up.
And now the elves were complaining even more that their person was daring to take the time to talk to this rude man, rather than getting on with her job.]
Also, for the record, like, never should have worn high-heels for this sort of job. They keep sinking into the mud like nothing else.
no subject
Shut it!!
[He unceremoniously grabs two chairs, wedging each under his arm. This definitely isn't how they're meant to be carried, and the elves are loud about how much they're hating it.]
Where to?
[But they don't want to be taken anywhere like this by him and Mukuro (yep, she's getting lumped in with him now, despite her best efforts). They insist that they either do it properly or bring them more suitable off-worlders.]
no subject
[She's looking a bit stunned, but was trying to stop herself from laughing all the same.
Seeing the way he was treating them, Mukuro's familiar wandered over to try and help. Fenrir couldn't carry a Sedan chair properly, but she could definitely pick them up in her jaws by the scruff of their necks and carry them that way right??
Helping!
The elves were definitely not happy with any of these people!]
Haha, Fenrir, no!
no subject
Stop!! Set us down!! And then leave! We don't want you brutes!! We want respectful help!
Oh yeah?! Then wait until some Ms come along! We are leaving!
["Ms" would be masochists (sorry, his Gintama jargon is coming through again). He grabs Mukuro's wrist, ready to drag her off, but not before getting one more thing off his chest, addressing the elves but pointing out Mukuro.]
Respect needs to be earned! Next time try not to criticise the crap out of someone who's genuinely trying to help you!
[Gasps of shock and offence follow, then everyone breaks into angry tirades. Wow, looks like he really trashed this opportunity for Mukuro... isn't he such a good quest partner?]
