Second: Quest Calling (Feb Catchall)

1) A Little Conversation



Mukuro had been trying to get a handle on suddenly having magic. Despite the seemingly supernatural levels of abilities the Ultimates at her school had, it was nothing compared to real magic. And, if she was to be honest with herself, she had literally no idea how to start learning. It wasn't like learning how to use a weapon at all!

But she wasn't about to give up!

Most mornings, she could be found around and about Brocéliande forest trying to...awkwardly strike up conversation with the local wildlife whilst her huge Hellhound found a shady spot nearby to nap.

"So, like...do you like carrots or whatever?"

To say the least, from the look the rabbit gave her before it raced off, it did not approve of the question.




2) The Libryrinth 🗡️



The rumours about the Library and whatever lay within certainly intrigued her. It sounded like a paranoid person had been jumping to conclusions from the original post, but then she noticed one of the weird symbols when she'd pulled out a book on animal care.

"...Maybe there is some truth in those rumours."

Well, it was late afternoon by now. Stealth and infiltration weren't out of her scope - even if doing so wearing Junko's obnoxious fashion was a task in itself - so maybe she should look into this one, after all.




3) A Tall Order 🛡️



"Ergh, seriously, do these things have to be so patronising?"

Initially, Mukuro was trying to work out a way to manage one of those sedan chairs all by herself... however, this was definitely not going according to plan. The elves were, to say the least, taking no time in pointing out that she was a disappointment and that this wasn't going anywhere fast.

"Oh shut up, I'm doing you guys a favour already!"

...Okay, yeah you're definitely cheating. You using magic to make your footsteps silent like that?

[She's just following him, looking around at the different books. There had to be something else here, right?]

Ergh, I swear if this is all some prank...

I do not have magic that's capable of silencing sound. [That is not a lie.] I had training.

[Unless she counts years of training as cheating, then yes, he does cheat. He pulls out a book, something about plants or whatever, and finds the odd symbol.]

I found one... [That makes it two]

Well yeah so did I but I still can't make my footsteps totally quiet! And I'm not made of metal!

[Huff. She's impressed and a little jealous of his talents, really.]

Huh? Another one... I wonder how many there are here.

[She can't see it but he's smirking under the faceplate at her apparent jealousy of his talent.]

Unsure. But finding more of these should lead us somewhere. [Hopefully] I recall that it said to also get up on the shelves while following these symbols.

[He wonders if this is reinforced like the carriage was to hold up his weight. Otherwise, he might have a bit of trouble himself climbing up here. Mukuro could, though, and he turns to the sad girl.]

You said you were trained earlier. Infiltration and stealth?

Yeah I remember that...and to stop the librarian seeing us in the process. It's gonna be hard to see the symbols from on top of the shelves themselves though, right?

[Just eyeing the shelves. She'd probably have to use one of the shelves by the wall to climb up, those would be able to handle her weight a little better.]

Huh- yeah, I- I... uh. Well a model has to be refined and delicate, right? So I took some training in how to move right! It just so happens it works surprisingly well for stuff like this, too!

[Soundwave just stares at her for a beat. She is so obvious, it is incredible, really.

But he'll reserve all teasing for later. One thing for certain is that she had trained for stealth, regardless of what her actual reasons are, and that is important for this particular quest.]

Hm. The library will soon close... [Might not be the best idea to climb up the shelves until people are out and the lights are closed. But she does bring up a point about seeing the symbols from up top] Unless they are also symbols printed on top, you could follow me from on top of the shelves while I search for the symbols down here...?

It did also say that the shelves are arranged in a peculiar pattern.

[Mukuro was bad at this whole pretending not to be a trained soldier thing.

For the time being though, he didn't ask any more questions - that meant he'd bought her excuse, right??]

Yeah, I'm thinking if I climb up there and you guide me from down here, that'll be a good way to start us up. I'll see if I can spot anything weird about how the shelves are arranged too.

Meantime we just have to hide somewhere until the library closes, right?

[Yeah, sure, he bought her excuse. Sooner or later, he's going to confront her about it, but until then he'll just focus on their tasks. He gives her a nod.]

That's right. Let us look for a hiding spot. [Hopefully somewhere he could be out of sight.]

[Hiding a giant robot would be harder than just hiding herself - and she didn't even know this was small for him! Still, for now she'll take a look around.]

...Think there might be a room near the back where they process books that have been returned or something?

[Maybe, if he stayed silent in some dark corner or something, and his visor turned off, at least there might be a good chance that the librarian might miss him. It's no use pondering about it, but things could be easier for him if he just has access to his holoavatar.]

Let's try our luck there, I suppose...

[She took some books off the shelves and carried them with her as she went to look around, hoping that would make it look like she was just your average visitor.

Soon enough, they came upon the small storage room, and she took a look inside.]
