[open] summer's turn is nigh
🧙 WHO: Robyn and YOU!
⚔️️ WHAT: Various prompts, including quests (mostly animal-related ones).
🕒 WHEN: Throughout the month of August
🗺️ WHERE: Around Camelot, in or around Broceliande
⚠️ WARNINGS: None; will add warnings if anything comes up.
A. Don't Treep, Man

[After the undead incident last month, Robyn resolves to help out with repairing the damage caused in the farmland. As such, she's been tasked with rounding up stray sheep and herding them back to their owner's farm. Robyn's never done shepherding before, but she's watched shepherds at work plenty of times and she has her animal magic to help. If you're in the farmland at all, you may see her at the back of a flock of sheep with a look of concentration on her face; she's using her magic to make sure the sheep go where they're supposed to without any of them breaking away from the group. When one of them starts to stray, she uses the shepherd's crook she borrowed to gently nudge it back into place.]
Stay with your friends, alright? We don't want you or anyone else gettin' lost again.
B. Invasive Species

[Robyn already spends a lot of time in the forest of Broceliande, and she was taught how to be a hunter, so this quest should be fitting for her. However, she's trying to focus more on getting the woodland creatures away from the lake and back into the woods, not wanting to disrupt the Carcinuses too much.
Unfortunately, she inevitably finds herself face to face with one, its scorpion tail pointed at her and snapping its claws menacingly. Robyn is firmly standing her ground, with her wolf familiar Rowena at the ready to defend her if need be, but her voice is still clearly nervous.]
Please...go back to the lake. I don't want to hurt you, but you should go home. You can't keep attackin' the animals.
[The Carcinus snaps its claws again, and all Robyn can hear with her animal magic is its overwhelming want for food, with no other logic behind it.]
Please, just go back...! [Robyn points her crossbow at the Carcinus. She's reluctant to kill an animal without the purpose of eating it, but if she has no choice...]
C. I'm Running with the Wolves Tonight

[Despite having to deal with problems on Broceliande, that doesn't stop Robyn from going there most days or nights in her wolf form, simply to enjoy herself. She'll never get over having her sense heightened and being able to run and jump much faster and higher than she could as a human.
On the off chance that you're in Broceliande at night, you may hear the sound of howling. Following the sound will lead you to two wolves calling out to any other wolves that might be in the area; one is golden and covered with markings, likely someone's familiar, while the other one is small and slender.]
D. Wildcard
[Feel free to hit up this post with any other scenarios!]

... A big hand suddenly grabs it, pulling it back. Those claw is tight around his hand, but Asterios doesn't seem to mind, despite the incredible pain he must be feeling. ]
... No. She is... not food.

Er...y-your hand...
no subject
Not food. I have food.
[ He shuffles around, grabbing a bag from his belt - it's not much, but it's got bits of meat from the market, hopefully enough to temporarily satisfy the guy. He glances over at Robyn. ]
... You. Hurt?
no subject
[She's a little afraid of those scorpion stingers, since there's no telling what might happen if those things stung her. Still, she forgets about that when she notices the blood on Asterios' hand.]
But you're bleedin'...I can fix it for you, I've got healin' magic.

C. I'm Running with the Wolves Tonight
The intention of the dead who lingered in the forests like wisps that took shapes within the shadows beneath her feet. Did not know why the wolf howl'd. They were curious and perhaps annoyed of the howling all the same. It took some time, but Robyn would notice that there were no howling returned. No birds speaking. No sounds within the forest that stirred, aside from her entrance to meet her. They were scared of the woman, and the aura she brings.
A slow walk, potentially looking as if she were a haunting menacing woman. In the dark of the night. Her voice is gentle and lowly, speaking to the wolf howling.]
... Why do you sing...? Why do you call....? The forest.... It is asking...
no subject
no subject
...Are you lost... Little one...? Ichi... Can show you the way....
[To where? Only one could imagine... Not that she could bring her to where the wolves were, as any animals around her would flee in fear.]
no subject
[Of course, Robyn says that, but most people who don't have animal magic will probably just hear a nervous whine coming from her.]
Who are you?
(no subject)

B
Once the crustacean's attention is diverted the Cat himself appears next to the girl, opposite the wolf. It's probably a familiar, but there's no need to take a risk. ]
no subject
Where'd you come from...? [Of course, she says that more to herself than the Cat, since she doesn't expect him to respond.]

no subject
[Robyn doesn't think much of talking to him anyway. She's already pretty used to talking her hunting falcon Merlyn, though her gaining animal magic has made her conversations with him less one-sided.
When she sees another Carcinus approaching, this time she's quicker to react, firing an arrow to land in front of it so it's startled away. She'd rather they not get any closer.]

[Well, maybe a little more than curiosity. No sooner does he find the two wolves, and recognize one as what must surely be a familiar, he claps his hands together in delight.]
You're an animal mage doing the werewolf thing, aren't you? You totally have to be!
[As much as he likes his own magic, he has to admit that turning into a wolf would've been really, really neat. If nothing else, it'd help him understand his twin sister better...]

[Which goes a long way towards explaining why he immediately jumped to the conclusion he did. It's absolutely familiar territory to him.]
no subject
I don't know what that is, but I'm a Wolfwalker, not a werewolf.
[Even if her abilities are different here, she hasn't stopped considering herself one.]

He seemed to appear from nowhere, and keeps himself out of the way of the snapping claws and lashing, poisonous tail while still using the significant weight of the weapon to pin the creature down.]
Are you all right? [This question goes to Robyn, with Thanatos seeming completely unfazed by the scorpion's struggles.]
no subject
[It's certainly hard not to notice that scythe, especially when it's flattening the Carcinus to the ground like that. It's probably a good thing Thanatos isn't wearing his usual clothes, since where she's from, there's one thing scythes tend to be associated with other than farming.]
Y-yes, I'm fine. Thank you. [At this point, Robyn is clearly trying not to look at the Carcinus and how much it's squirming.]
no subject
I have no desire to kill it unnecessarily. [Thanatos slants a glance down at the squirming Carcinus.]
But I can remove it, if you can't persuade it to leave.

B for Invasive Species
(Just as the Carcinus tries to have its claws on Robyn, another voice pierces through the air and the creature soon finds it being sent flying by an invisible force towards a tree, knocking it out temporarily.
Soon enough, Harry arrives to the scene, taking a brief moment to catch his breath as Hedwig flies onto a nearby tree branch. Rose squeaks in concern while hanging onto Harry’s left shoulder.)
Hey Robyn, are you alright?
no subject
[Robyn's voice is still a little shaky. Honestly, it's not so much the Carcinuses' claws she's afraid of, but their stingers. Who knows what might happen if she got stung by one of those things.]
I wanted to try talkin' to them so they could go back to the lake...but all they want is food.
no subject
(Granted, he was hoping to figure out a way to sort this matter at hand, but he wasn’t expecting them to be this super hungry either. But the question: how can they get those creatures back to the lake they came without causing so much destruction.)
Hey, maybe we can team up and distract the Carcinus back to the lake. Maybe I can try to do something with kinetic magic to, well, make sure that no more animals would be Carcinus lunch.

C!
And beyond that, ever since he somehow acquired these new ears, he's been eager to get out and listen to all the new sounds he couldn't hear before. Not that he's been able to identify very many of them, given that no one he's asked could hear them...but they're still interesting!
So he does hear the howling, and there's something weirdly compelling about it. Like he's supposed to follow it. Maybe even like he's supposed to join in? That's odd...
He dashes through the forest toward the sound, dodging inconveniently placed branches and apologizing to an owl or two that he startles with his passage, until he comes upon the two wolves. Robyn will see that he looks a little different than usual...in particular, a little more canine than usual. Less like a wolf, really, and more like...a dog, with tall furry red ears that are standing up in interest and a fluffy red tail that's very clearly wagging, currently.]
Oh! Hello, there, wolves. I don't suppose you'd mind a bit of company? Not the edible kind, though...
no subject
Zagreus? [She says that, though to most people without animal magic her words will just sound like barking. Anyone who's met Robyn in person might find this wolf's blue eyes are familiar, though.]
So you got animal ears, too?
no subject
And thus did Prince Zagreus receive precisely the response anyone else would have expected, had they also spoken to a wild animal in the forest.
What, I can't talk to animals, now? I talk to Cerberus all the time! Besides, I'm part wolf now, right? Sort of.
