[Open] Hit the Ground Running
🧙 WHO: Zidane and anyone who wants in!
⚔️️ WHAT: New arrival and open log for the month!
🕒 WHEN: Whenever arrivals get dropped in and forward
🗺️ WHERE: Red Spring, CameCon, Brocéliande and beyooond
⚠️ WARNINGS: Nooo? ... No... will update if needed.
[I. The Red Spring - Training Grounds]
[His world had magic so figuring it out wasn't difficult, but the application was different and limited. Or maybe he was out of practice? Quickly figuring out it had nothing to do with elemental or healing, it seemed physical again. Honestly, fine with him.]
[At the training grounds, he had one ability down already: speeding up. If he knew what else could be done with it, he would probably try it out, but instead, others might see him running the obstacle course, taking a break after completing it, and then repeating, steadily increasing his speed. However, he's still new, and it's evident he's exhausting himself at some point. His familiar - a moogle - tugged his tail to stop him with a 'kupo!', but he stood up, waved it off, and took to the course again.]
[Maybe intervene?]
[II. It Figures... Flood/Blackout]
[Only coming to the CameCon out of curiosity, he's only semi-surprised when the flood began? Like, it happened at the hot springs and spoiled that so why not spoil another event?]
[Helping people who wanted out of the water was all fine and dandy if ridiculous. The water wouldn't damage everything they bought that bad; living was more important than losing that apparent limited edition pillow. And then, of course the lights had to go out.]
... Alright, unless anyone's got a candle on them or the right magic, I'm gonna need some dry table cloth and a chair leg!
[He'd find it himself, but rattling tables and chairs with his magic might not help keep panic down.]
[III. Keep Your Vines to Yourself]
[Zidane's really in this forest due to the reports of missing people since he'd rather not be here. It reminded him plenty of another stint in a forest that he'd rather not repeat, and not without the medicine to counteract things going south.]
[Fortunately, the vines were friendly - unfortunately, too friendly.]
[Not that he doesn't manage to slink his way from plenty attempts to grab him, but he knew he lost some fur. Of course, he's lucky; other people that came into the woods? Maybe not so much and he's listening out for anyone who might find themselves in a predicament.]
[IV. Selfies with Selkies]
So... you wanna try talking to him, or should I go?
[Holding his basket in his tail, Zidane raised his arms behind his head and tilted his head. He's not human, but who between the two of them would be better? The Selkie looked like a cool enough guy, but Zidane's also not here to listen to another guy attempt to flirt should his companion be a woman.]
[The Cereus de Anima was kind of a pressing matter they should deal with sooner rather than later.]
[V. Wildcard]
[OOC: Putting this option here as a more general exploration of Camelot without making a sixth prompt so he can be encountered in various locations about the City. Look, he's very good at getting into places and curious enough right now. If you wanna plot in more details, hit me up at plurk:
demidemonLove. Also, if you'd rather some prompts on his TDM, that's still available here and open to being carried over!]

Selfies with Selkies!
[But going alone was a bad idea. So Darin figured that teaming up with someone would lessen the chance of something catastrophic happening.]
[But it's never that easy, is it?]
[Fortunately, Darin was becoming familiar with the land of Avalon, so the trip was more like retreading old ground.]
[Though upon seeing the Selkie...Darin wasn't exactly thrilled or impressed. Either way, they had to make the delivery.]
...He doesn't seem too thrilled about visitors.
[He pulls a gold coin out of his pocket.]
Flip you for it?
no subject
[Shaking his head, he lowers his arms. Eh, the Selkie's a resident so he probably can't travel too far himself because of the mess... Too bad, but he might cause problems if he could.]
[Glancing Darin's way, he nods.]
Sounds good. We'll switch if it's not working out.
no subject
[Whether he's joking or not...it's hard to tell. But regardless, he holds the coin up to show it's not a trick coin or anything.]
Call it in the air! Heads or tails!

Artemisia! Why did you abandon me in my hour of greatest need?! I thought you were my dear companion!
[... This rather dramatic declaration is given while he hasn't noticed Zidane just yet.]
no subject
[A fox in the forest? Not weird, but a white fox coming directly to him and yipping like it wants his attention? Yup, there's something more going on so he follows after it.]
[The dramatics almost have him a little suspect, but the victim of the vines this time is definitely not anyone he knows. He chuckles.]
You mean by finding help? Yeah, sounds like it.

Can you help me? I've been trapped here for quite some time...

Training Grounds...
At least until she suspected it had actually very little to do with actual magic and was likely more... endurance training? An equally useful trait, admittedly. She lost count of how many times he went through rather early on and it wasn't until his familiar began attempting to stop him that she thought perhaps the moogle was right.
All things in moderation.
Poised where she had been leaning on one of the training ground's many obstacles, she eventually removed herself to approach, careful not to actually get in Zidane's way. And when she felt like she was in a good enough position to do so, she cleared her throat.]
You know, I think they're trying to get your attention. [His moogle. She meant his moogle.]
no subject
[First thought, oh damn! Pretty girl. Second thought, oh damn, still on an obstacle course. He barely avoided crashing into the hurdles ahead of him and almost swerved straight into a log, turning away towards a free pole at the bars.]
[Hooking his tail, he went around several times until he managed to finally slow down, stumbling away as he released. Oof, that was lame, but at least he can finally get his feet planted.]
no subject
What a handful.]
Are you all right? I didn't mean to catch you by surprise.

I
But from her perch on his bag, his pixie familiar watches the moogle trying to stop Zidane for a moment, before getting Fenton's attention. He pauses, though yelps a bit when he loses concentration and drops a sphere of water he'd been holding. ]
What is it?
[ She gestures wildly with her arms, confusing Fenton for a moment before he looks around and catches Zidane just in time to see him shrugging off his familiar and starting the obstacle course once again. He observes for a moment, until he catches the familiar signs of fatigue. ]
A-Ah...uh, excuse me?
no subject
Hey! [He waves a hand to make his familiar stop for a bit... hopefully enough time to talk to the bird guy.]
Yeah? I didn't cut you off, did I? [He rubs the back of his head. He thinks he stayed on course...]

Wildcard - If this isn't okay, let me know!
Hm? What is it, Koromaru?
[He said before he started running up to one of the nearby rabbit. Whatever was going on, it sure seemed like it was quite the conversation as Ken just looked back at the rabbit and then back at his dog.
If Zidane could hear carefully, it was mostly about which animal could be faster.]
This works!
[Huh... Well, he's encountered friendly monsters before so maybe it's not too far thinking some animals might talk. Unless they're familiars?]
Why not have a race?
no subject
That's what they're suggesting but they need to explain the rules first. It is a little difficult to run in the rain.
[Although, that didn't top the two animals from getting into a slightly heated argument!]

iii doing it for the vines
But he somehow got turned around! So turned around that he walked right into one of those friendly yet very pesky vine traps.]
Eyahh!?!
[It wraps right around his ankle and pulls Izuku right off his feet! He's dragged across the ground and then right up into the air where he's now hanging upside down! Help??]
Hello-?! Ah- Haaa... This is the worst...
[If he can just twist up and grab his dagger from his boot maybe he can get himself down maybe... but maybe he needs a hand.]
always ends well, right?
[Slipping past a few more vines, he ducks into a tree himself to tangle them up in the branches... only to drop down next to the other guy that got caught up by them, tail coiled tight around a free branch.]
Hey, how's it hanging?

However even he cannot overlook someone, you know, pushing themselves to the point of exhaustion. The thing is, Xiao probably doesn't have the people skills to really address the subject? ]
Pushing yourself to the point where you are likely to collapse where you stand is pointless.
no subject
I think it's fine testing my limit around people. Better than doing it alone, right?
[His puffed-up familiar moogle plops down on his head with a 'Kupo...'. Sounds like it doesn't approve of his methods either.]

[Lightning can't help the smile that passes over her lips at his assurance. One ship would be enough, and they can probably net something more than the prize for just getting the captain if they can't manage all three ships. That's not to say she doesn't think they can, but they gotta start small first.
She takes another cursory glance around the bar to make sure no one's looking at them.]
Looks like they're all busy enough that we can sneak out.
[Yep, there they go, starting another drinking competition despite some of them not being able to stay upright.
Lightning slides out of her seat.]
Let's go.
no subject
[With a nod, he glances over at the guys getting ready for their drinking competition and slips off his seat shortly after. Even if he gets caught, he's got a few old excuses ready - might stick to a classic even if it might divert his course.]
Right behind you.

I think I saw some clothes up higher if the tablecloth doesn't work.

I
Irhya has taken to people-watching at the training grounds, both those who do and don't know what they're doing with a weapon (or magic). It's easy to tell who's had experience... and this guy has apparently got the market on agility cornered, if naught else. He moves not unlike a ninja, she thinks as she watches him plow through the course again and again.
But he starts to fumble at some point, grinding so hard that he begins to wear himself out, and it shows. As he slows to a stop -- or at least she hopes he's slowing down -- she holds her blade out in front of him, barring his path. Assuming he doesn't just jump right over it.]
Take a water break, will you? Just watching you is tiring me out.
no subject
Woah!
[Geez, his tail waves a bit, but he looks at the one wielding it. Oh, she must've been the one staring at him.]
So you've been running through my mind...? Hehe. But seriously, how long have you been watching?
