[Open] Hit the Ground Running

[I. The Red Spring - Training Grounds]

[His world had magic so figuring it out wasn't difficult, but the application was different and limited. Or maybe he was out of practice? Quickly figuring out it had nothing to do with elemental or healing, it seemed physical again. Honestly, fine with him.]

[At the training grounds, he had one ability down already: speeding up. If he knew what else could be done with it, he would probably try it out, but instead, others might see him running the obstacle course, taking a break after completing it, and then repeating, steadily increasing his speed. However, he's still new, and it's evident he's exhausting himself at some point. His familiar - a moogle - tugged his tail to stop him with a 'kupo!', but he stood up, waved it off, and took to the course again.]

[II. It Figures... Flood/Blackout]

[Only coming to the CameCon out of curiosity, he's only semi-surprised when the flood began? Like, it happened at the hot springs and spoiled that so why not spoil another event?]

[Helping people who wanted out of the water was all fine and dandy if ridiculous. The water wouldn't damage everything they bought that bad; living was more important than losing that apparent limited edition pillow. And then, of course the lights had to go out.]

... Alright, unless anyone's got a candle on them or the right magic, I'm gonna need some dry table cloth and a chair leg!

[He'd find it himself, but rattling tables and chairs with his magic might not help keep panic down.]


[III. Keep Your Vines to Yourself]

[Zidane's really in this forest due to the reports of missing people since he'd rather not be here. It reminded him plenty of another stint in a forest that he'd rather not repeat, and not without the medicine to counteract things going south.]

[Fortunately, the vines were friendly - unfortunately, too friendly.]

[Not that he doesn't manage to slink his way from plenty attempts to grab him, but he knew he lost some fur. Of course, he's lucky; other people that came into the woods? Maybe not so much and he's listening out for anyone who might find themselves in a predicament.]


[IV. Selfies with Selkies]

So... you wanna try talking to him, or should I go?

[Holding his basket in his tail, Zidane raised his arms behind his head and tilted his head. He's not human, but who between the two of them would be better? The Selkie looked like a cool enough guy, but Zidane's also not here to listen to another guy attempt to flirt should his companion be a woman.]

[The Cereus de Anima was kind of a pressing matter they should deal with sooner rather than later.]


[V. Wildcard]

[OOC: Putting this option here as a more general exploration of Camelot without making a sixth prompt so he can be encountered in various locations about the City. This could be a problem... should we turn back? Try to find another torch?

[She's putting it to him. She can keep flying for a little while longer -- but that means she's safe for a few minutes, at least until her magic runs out.]

We can make another. I don't think we should risk heading out yet.

[Heading out while being uncertain if the building was cleared didn't sit right with him.]

Yeah. I don't want to leave anyone behind.

[Adelle flies up -- this time, she comes down with a King Arthur T-shirt, of all things. She floats back down, hovering over Zidane.]

Does that chair leg still work? Not too wet?

[Considering where they are, one King Arthur t-shirt being burned shouldn’t matter as much.]

[He nods.]

It’s still pretty dry. What about the shirt though? Not damp is it?

No, it was high up. Maybe a little around the right sleeve, but... the rest seems okay?

Yeah, it’ll be fine then. I’ll just wrap that part inside and it can keep the leg from heating up.

[Adelle hands it over to him, carefully.]

Good plan.

[tantailizing]

[Accepting the shirt, Zidane takes a moment to dowse the initial torch at the end so he can remove the old shirt. It takes a moment in the dark, but soon, the new torch is lit.]

Okay, let's head on.

[everydayeveryway]

[There's a little sigh of relief when the light comes back. Adelle worried, for a second, when they were in the dark. She bobs her head, floating up.

And then starts ahead.]

Yes! If there's anyone else, we'll get them out.

[tantailizing]

[Zidane will resume walking, unhindered by the rising water. He's determined, that's all, and they almost have the rest of the hall cover. No time to waste; who knew when outside rescue would finally get there.]

[Onward and onward they go!

Eventually, they spot another group of people -- a trio, that's managed to climb atop a booth, because the water's gotten pretty high. Adelle makes a face and settles in near Zidane.]

...it looks like they'll need help. Maybe we can get a rope or something, to get them past the deeper part there?

[tantailizing]

[Zidane stares at the group. Does nobody know how to swim, or is this a merchandise issue again? But it could be a problem with the dark... please, let it be that.]

Yeah, let's do that. I'm pretty sure I saw some being used for display.

[everydayeveryway]

[Adelle wonders, herself. She hopes it's not something stupid.

She flies up and grabs the rope that Zidane mentioned. Then she lands, handing him one end of the rope.]

I'll fly over. And then hold the rope while they move over.

[tantailizing]

[Taking the end in one hand, he'll bind it around his other arm, still keeping hold of the end once he's done.]

Got it.

[And if he can use his magic right... he should be able to stop himself from being pulled.]

[everydayeveryway]

[Adelle flies over. She has the rope in hand -- and she stops for a bit to talk to the people. It's dim and hard to make them out, but there's a surprised jerk of her head.

Then she calls back:] It's a mom and her kids! One of them was too little for the flood. I'm going to carry her across after, okay?

The others are about to cross!

[tantailizing]

[Well, okay, he's a lot less irritated by that. Little kids being unable to swim was fairly typical, and in the dark, it's worse. He keeps his grip on the rope tight.]

I'm ready when they are!

[everydayeveryway]

All right! Here they go!

[Adelle waves them forward. The mom and the older one cross -- it's slow going, but with Zidane and Adelle holding the rope, they get across in time. There's definitely rising water now, though.

Both of them are exhausted, but thanking Zidane. Adelle's got the other girl on her shoulders.

She calls out:] I'll drop the rope and fly across, if you're ready!

[tantailizing]

Hey, don't worry. We'll have you all out in a second.

[They're tired, but he can handle carrying them out if that needs to happen. Looking back over at Adelle's call, he'll call back.]

Yeah! [Meanwhile, he might keep the rope. Wouldn't be useful for much, but point was, some use could be made.]

[everydayeveryway]

[Adelle flies over. She gets the whole way... but lands a little roughly, and with a splash. She hands the little girl over to her mom, with some serious 'thank yous' being shared.

Adelle smiles at them, then looks at Zidane.]

I don't think I can fly much more. We should get them back, I think.

[tantailizing]

Take it easy then. We'll be at the exit soon.

[And looking at the family.]

Stay close.

[The torch is bright, but the water's high. Let's not lose anyone right now.]

I will. I think we did good, hm?

[Adelle motions them forward. She stays to the back of the ground -- Zidane at the front, her ready to help any stragglers. She keeps moving; she looks tired, but they're not far from the exit!]

Think so... I hope it's enough.

[Just a casual stroll to the exit in rising water. No big deal at all... back-up should arrive to help them though. And maybe it would be there once they got out again.]

I think so...

[Once they're at the exit, she ushers the mom and her kids through. Then she steps through herself. She's pretty soaked, now; dripping, even. She'll need to go dry off soon.]

We got a lot of people out, and we made our way through most of it. At this point, we'd be endangering someone to get them, with the water getting higher, my magic getting lower, and a refill on the torch being even more unlikely.

Maybe...

[Even if that's the logical, Zidane still looks back into the building, considering returning inside. He's really considering it... but as he was hoping, it looked like backup arrived. They'll taking the mom and her kids away to get them dried and situated, and others will take care of the flooding.]

Hey... don't push yourself too much, okay? It's good to help... but too much, and someone might have to rescue you. I think the new people have this.

[She smiles a bit.]
