a. Helping the baby mossatees

( When she had heard that there were animals that needed help, Tohru hadn't hesitated to try to step in to lend a hand. Especially when it was something that she could do. While it's true that helping them was something that could supposedly help her, that... wasn't exactly the reason she was doing this.

She gently guides them forward, giving them a little push to help roll them forward towards the water. Her smile is bright, hopeful as she speaks to them in encouragement. )

There you go! Please, take care. Your parents are waiting for you.

( They can't really understand her. She knows that. But... she's cheering them on, anyways. She can't help but hope that they understand her feelings regardless. )

b. summer fever!

( As someone with healing magic, Tohru steps in to try to help those in need. She's moving to and from room, trying her best to provide whatever comfort she can to those who aren't feeling well. But, that isn't all she's doing.

She got a handful of teddy bears that she's brought in for the patients she does see. Each one is unique – designed differently with another color. Unfortunately, she runs out faster than she'd like, and she can't help but feel a little guilty when she does. )

… I'm so sorry. ( She offers quietly to the next patient. ) I ran out of gifts today. But, I promise that I'll bring something really special for you tomorrow.

c. training

( With how much she's been using her magic lately, she wants to try to get stronger. After all, her magic is still fairly weak. She wants to be prepared, just in case more people aren't feeling well, or... if there ends up being more fighting.

So, she's crouched down next to a nearby flower, a small ragdoll sitting on her shoulder in silence. It seems to be gently encouraging her – even if it's doing so without words.

The flower is slightly wilted – but, it isn't close to death, either.

She places her hands over the flower, brows furrowed as she focuses her magic on it. A warm light surrounds it, and slowly, but surely – the plant seems to become healthy again.

Her face lights up then, clasping her hands together. )

There! You seem to be alright now! I'm so glad...

[Izuku is around helping out with the rescue efforts as well but his day isn't quite going as smoothly as hers is. While she's gently cheering them on Izuku might have one of the mossatees trying to chew on his hand. Great!]

W-wh-wait! Please let go! You're supposed to get back to the water, not chew on my hand... Please! I'm trying to help!

[He usually has more tact than this. But he is trying to very gently pull his hand out of the mossatee's mouth while trying not to hurt it! Come on!!]

( The sound of Izuku yelling is more than enough to get Tohru's attention. She quickly turns towards his direction, and her legs move before she really realizes it, making her way to him. )

O-Oh, no! Are you alright?! Please, let me help!

( She crouches down then, her hands moving to gently circle around the mossatees and tug them forward - all without trying to scare them into biting even harder... Hopefully this is enough to get them to stop. )

Ahh--?!

[Izuku jolts forward! Honestly, he's trying really hard to keep calm because don't animals sense that sort of thing if someone is panicked or anxious?! But it's hard for him and he's halfway to panicking because what if he hurts it and he loses a hand!?

It's a huge relief to have a hand with this. But the mossatee seems to only gum at Izuku's hand even more and only leans against the poor girl without letting go. It makes a squeaky noise and starts to drool all over Izuku's hand and up to his wrist. Gross...]

I'm- I'm okay! He just won't let go... I really don't want to be a snack...!

[But what do they do!?]

( She didn't expect it to latch onto him more! It's her turn to panic, and she flails a bit. She doesn't want to pull more -- what if she hurts it? But, what if it hurts him?! )

Ahh! U-Uhm, okay -- w-what should we do? ( Wait! She thinks she has an idea! ) Oh-- I know! Food! Is there a kind of food it likes...? We could distract it with that!

[ Though the child does seem to understand, they are a bit saddened by not receiving a teddy bear like the other children. But, having seen the exchange when he arrived, Fenton enters the room with a teddy bear of his own. ]

Here, how about this one? He's not as colorful as his friends, but he still needs a good friend to go home with.

[ Even the plain teddy bear is enough to brighten the child's mood, and as they accept the toy with a smile. ]

( For a moment, Tohru watches as Fenton gives the bear to the child. Tohru couldn't help but but feel incredibly guilty. The last thing that she wants to do is disappoint anyone.

When she watches how the child smiles, her own expression softens, a gentle smile on her face. When Fenton says his good byes, Tohru starts to speak. )

... Thank you so much. You made them so happy just now.

I'm glad I could help! It looks like you've been doing a lot of great work on your own, though! Did you make those teddy bears yourself?

[ He'd seen the colorful and decorated ones that the children had, but he didn't remember seeing any bears like that in the supplies that were being passed out. ]

Yes, I did. I was hoping that it would help the children here feel a little less lonely.

( Because... she knows how easy it is to feel that way when you're sick. )

But, I think they're happy having someone so friendly helping them, too.

We can pick up more on the way home after this if you want. Just don't go overdoing it and making yourself exhausted or sick or anything.

[Because yes. Kyo is trying to keep an eye on her as she goes around helping everyone else. Trying to ensure she will take breaks and eat and all and trying to ensure she doesn't overdo it the way she did back home that one time and getting sick. It isn't like he has much if anything else to do around here as he's still new and figuring this place out. So for now, while he adjusts, with hearing about people getting sick and how Tohru of course wants to help. Well. He's trying to look out for her too. Mostly usually waiting for her and trying not to actually hover and all in getting in the way.]

( She offers a warm smile. )

Thank you, but... I'm alright. I'm happy to do all of this for everyone. And, the children here look happy to receive these gifts, too.

( She was a little surprised that Kyo wanted to come with her, but she's happy to have company with her. Besides, she knows how it is to feel sick. You... can't really help but want company with you. )

I'm glad you came with me today, Kyo.

Course they're happy. You're helping heal them from being sick and giving them toys.

[It's partly that he's still adjusting to this place and initially following her around a bit to get his bearings but also that he just wants to be sure she's alright in all this too. That she doesn't herself get sick or something with all this. That she doesn't push herself too much. That none of these kids are like Hiro that might say or do something to upset her.

Not. That he's sure on actually trying to articulate his reasons, but if she's happy he's there too, it's fine.

When you're younger... All you really want is company when you're sick. So, I know that they're happy to see you too, Kyo.

( Though, that's not entirely untrue when you're older, too. Some things never really change.

Still, it's not just that. She's always happy to have Kyo's company. Things... always feel brighter - more peaceful when he's nearby. How could she not want him with her? )

[Shen Qingqiu has been spending a lot of his own time working on his magic as well, though at the moment he's just approaching out of curiosity, standing just distant enough to be considered polite as he leans slightly over the girl and her flower.]

( Tohru looks over her shoulder then, only for her eyes to meet with Shen's. Wow... what a beautiful person...

She can't help but feel a bit shy for a moment, face reddening just a bit. )

Oh, you saw that?

[ Tohru may notice that as she heals the flower, a small girl with a horn on her forehead is watching her with wide eyes. Was that healing magic? Did she just heal that flower? There was a very pretty light and then the flower looked all better...

Still, being the nervous little girl that she is, she's... mostly just standing and staring at Tohru in awe. So Healing Magic can do that, huh? ]

( When Tohru looks up, she finds a young-looking girl watching her. Brown-colored eyes blink a bit before she smiles gently.

She hasn't seen Eri before, but - she's so cute! She only hopes that she isn't here alone. )

Good afternoon! Did you come here to see the flowers?

Ah...

[ Realizing that she was staring, Eri retreats a bit, clearly very shy... and the fact that she's realized that she was just staring making it that much more apparent. Still, she looks nice... and she did just heal that flower, right? ]

M-Mm... yeah, I did... [ A pause. Give her a moment, she's trying to work up the courage to ask. ] U-Um! Did you heal that flower?

[Makoto just happens happens to be walking by on her way to do some training herself (even being here four months, she still needs to work on her magical stamina and her use of non-lightning elements, especially if she keeps getting into more combat quests) when she spots the girl crouched down and imbuing the little flower with magic. That gets a smile on her face, and she listens to the impulse to walk over and wave.]

Nice work! You've got green magic too?

( As Makoto approaches Tohru, she turns to look at her. While she's a bit flustered that she saw that, she can't help but be more excited to meet someone new. )

Oh, hello!

This is healing magic. I really want to be able to do more here, so... I wanted to try my hand at something like this.

I'm just glad it worked. The flower looks happier now, too!

Oh awesome! [She bends down a little to get a closer look at the flower; what kind is it?] I know a few people with healing magic, I didn't know it could work on plants too. That's pretty cool!

[Meanwhile, Ken had been running around the training grounds with his dog. Lately, he's been trying to pick up his stamina after spending the past month slacking off. However, before he could continue forward, that's when he saw a girl nearby. At first, he wondered if he should say anything but decided against it.

Although, he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow or two at the magic she just performed.]

Is that green magic? I never seen it being used up close before!

Oh, good afternoon! I'm sorry I didn't greet you before.

( She had been so focused on her magic, she didn't know she had company! )

This is healing magic. Can green magic heal plants, too?

[In response, Ken gave a nervous chuckle.]

No, it's okay, I just got here! But I don't have green magic, I never seen someone heal plants before but it is interesting to see it up close!

[He said before looking at the plants.]
