a. Helping the baby mossatees

( When she had heard that there were animals that needed help, Tohru hadn't hesitated to try to step in to lend a hand. Especially when it was something that she could do. While it's true that helping them was something that could supposedly help her, that... wasn't exactly the reason she was doing this.

She gently guides them forward, giving them a little push to help roll them forward towards the water. Her smile is bright, hopeful as she speaks to them in encouragement. )

There you go! Please, take care. Your parents are waiting for you.

( They can't really understand her. She knows that. But... she's cheering them on, anyways. She can't help but hope that they understand her feelings regardless. )

b. summer fever!

( As someone with healing magic, Tohru steps in to try to help those in need. She's moving to and from room, trying her best to provide whatever comfort she can to those who aren't feeling well. But, that isn't all she's doing.

She got a handful of teddy bears that she's brought in for the patients she does see. Each one is unique – designed differently with another color. Unfortunately, she runs out faster than she'd like, and she can't help but feel a little guilty when she does. )

… I'm so sorry. ( She offers quietly to the next patient. ) I ran out of gifts today. But, I promise that I'll bring something really special for you tomorrow.

c. training

( With how much she's been using her magic lately, she wants to try to get stronger. After all, her magic is still fairly weak. She wants to be prepared, just in case more people aren't feeling well, or... if there ends up being more fighting.

So, she's crouched down next to a nearby flower, a small ragdoll sitting on her shoulder in silence. It seems to be gently encouraging her – even if it's doing so without words.

The flower is slightly wilted – but, it isn't close to death, either.

She places her hands over the flower, brows furrowed as she focuses her magic on it. A warm light surrounds it, and slowly, but surely – the plant seems to become healthy again.

Her face lights up then, clasping her hands together. )

There! You seem to be alright now! I'm so glad...

[Izuku is around helping out with the rescue efforts as well but his day isn't quite going as smoothly as hers is. While she's gently cheering them on Izuku might have one of the mossatees trying to chew on his hand. Great!]

W-wh-wait! Please let go! You're supposed to get back to the water, not chew on my hand... Please! I'm trying to help!

[He usually has more tact than this. But he is trying to very gently pull his hand out of the mossatee's mouth while trying not to hurt it! Come on!!]

( The sound of Izuku yelling is more than enough to get Tohru's attention. She quickly turns towards his direction, and her legs move before she really realizes it, making her way to him. )

O-Oh, no! Are you alright?! Please, let me help!

( She crouches down then, her hands moving to gently circle around the mossatees and tug them forward - all without trying to scare them into biting even harder... Hopefully this is enough to get them to stop. )

[fullgauntlet]

Ahh--?!

[Izuku jolts forward! Honestly, he's trying really hard to keep calm because don't animals sense that sort of thing if someone is panicked or anxious?! But it's hard for him and he's halfway to panicking because what if he hurts it and he loses a hand!?

It's a huge relief to have a hand with this. But the mossatee seems to only gum at Izuku's hand even more and only leans against the poor girl without letting go. It makes a squeaky noise and starts to drool all over Izuku's hand and up to his wrist. Gross...]

I'm- I'm okay! He just won't let go... I really don't want to be a snack...!

[But what do they do!?]

( She didn't expect it to latch onto him more! It's her turn to panic, and she flails a bit. She doesn't want to pull more -- what if she hurts it? But, what if it hurts him?! )

Ahh! U-Uhm, okay -- w-what should we do? ( Wait! She thinks she has an idea! ) Oh-- I know! Food! Is there a kind of food it likes...? We could distract it with that!

[fullgauntlet]

[Don't worry about him he's probably fine- He doesn't want to hurt the mossatee either! He's going to start crying!!]

Wha- Ah- Yes! Try some food it might like--!!

[And the thing lets out a loud happy growl-like noise and starts to slurp at Izuku's whole hand making a gross wet noise.]

Ahh- Ahhhhhhhhhhh!! Fish??? Bread?!?!?

[ANYTHING]

They need to go into the water, so--! ( Tohru will just... gently attempt to push Izuku more towards the water, hoping that what she has in mind will work... )

It might be looking to go back in!

[fullgauntlet]

Yeah-?!

[The push will encourage Izuku to wobble that way! He tries his best to move, arm still stuck halfway into this creature's mouth and his face going a pale green.]

O-okay! Come on... Let's go, Mossatee-san! To the water where there are more...tasty things than m-my arm!!

[Wobble wobble towards the water! Which is kind of working but they probably look ridiculous.]

( They do, but Tohru isn't thinking about that at all -- the only thing she can think about is helping poor Izuku.

At the least, once they make their way their destination, the Mossatee seems to finally release it's hold on Izuku's arm. Tohru can't help but sigh in relief. )

Oh, thank goodness! It looks like it's starting to let go!

[fullgauntlet]

G-good! Good! Great!

[Poor Izuku is still a little green in the face. But as soon as the creature releases him from his face Izuku pulls back his arm and holds his wrist like the holy grail.]

Ahh!!

[He's free!! And the mossatee starts to wiggle and paddle away in the water...]

... Sorry, that was... A lot of trouble.

[agentlewish]

( Ah, it looks like it let go! That's a relief... She was almost afraid that his hand would become their next meal. ... Somehow. )

Oh, no! ( Tohru shakes her head. ) Please, don't worry about it. I'm just glad I was able to help.

( And a little more cheerfully: )

It seems happier to be back in the water, too.

[fullgauntlet]

[Izuku looks out to the water to see the creature happily swimming and splashing about and honestly that makes Izuku smile. A little sheepishly, but maybe it was worth the slobber all over his arm.]

Thanks for helping me... I didn't think today would be me getting chomped on like that.

[He sighs with relief.]

Now he can get back to his family properly.

[agentlewish]

He may have been more hungry than he seemed.

( She feels like she can relax again. )

You look happy to see him off, too.

[fullgauntlet]

[It was hungry enough to try and eat Izuku?! Please no, he's not real broccoli despite what he looks like!]

Aha, I wanted to help them get back to the water, so it's nice to be able to help out. You were working on that too, I think?

[agentlewish]

Yes, I was!

( Tohru looks rather happy to say that. )

There seems to be a lot of people who want to help them. It really is wonderful to see. When it comes to something like this -- you can't really help but feel like this world really is a warm place to be in.

[fullgauntlet]

[Wow, her positive attitude is really contagious. It makes him forget that he almost got an arm chewed off.]

Yeah... I think it's really great that we're all helping out. We're outsiders so I think we owe it to the creatures that live here. That we help out where we can...

[agentlewish]

It feels a little like we all share those feelings, doesn't it? The reason why we were sent here was to save our worlds.

( Her smile softens. It seems she's met someone with a gentle heart. )

My Mom always said that kindness was something that can grow. It's something I truly believe in -- especially here.

[fullgauntlet]

[It's actually very nice to meet someone who thinks so. He's met a lot of people who resent this world for what is it. And maybe a part of Izuku does too. But there is a sense of wonder he has for this world too. And Izuku always wants to do his best to help others, it doesn't matter what sort of world background there is for wanting to do that.]

I like that. [He smiles softly and sheepishly.] I want to believe in something like that too.

[It's nice.]

I want to do my best here. It doesn't matter where we are.

( It's encouraging to meet people who feel the way that Izuku does. Kindness is something that grows over time. The way that he feels might influence another person to do the same -- a cycle that's bound to repeat itself. )

We may have just met, but... I can already tell. You're someone who's very kind.

[fullgauntlet]

[Izuku tucks his chin downwards in embarrassment with the slightest twinge of a blush over his cheeks for that. He's not that used to people giving him such gentle compliments. She's really sweet.]

Ah- I ... I just want to do what I can. That's the same as you, so we're both kind...!

[Or something like that!! So she's kind too!!]

( For a moment, she can't help but wonder if she embarrassed him, but then he speaks again.

There's laughter in her voice when she speaks, but she's not laughing at him by any means -- she's just happy. )

I'm glad you think so.

Mom always told me that you never know who may need kindness the most in their life... so, it's something I try to strive for with everyone I meet.

[fullgauntlet]

[It's okay, he kind of embarrasses easily. He smiles in return, rubbing the back of his head in good nature for it.]

That sounds like something my mom would say too.

[He misses her, wonders how she's doing while he's off away on these strange new journeys... If this can be called that? Journeys?]

I want to be someone who can give kindness no matter what. I think- That's what heroes should try their best to do.

[agentlewish]

I'm so glad to hear that. I... was always thankful that Mom could be such a positive influence in my life. I'm sure it might have been the same for you.

( Tohru can't help but pause at what he says next. )

That's a really admirable goal to have! But... what do you mean by heroes trying their best...?

[fullgauntlet]

[Look at these two wholesome children just so proud of their moms being so great and wonderful.]

Ah! I- I'm training to become a pro hero back home. But ... Well, I'm a knight in this world, instead.

[For now, anyway.]

[agentlewish]

A knight? That's amazing! ( Her eyes light up at the idea of it, rather impressed that she's met a knight. ) That's amazing! I've never met a knight before.

Then, if you're a knight here, then -- you've become a hero here, haven't you?

[fullgauntlet]

[Is this what it's like having a girl impressed with him?!?!]

I- ... I- Maybe? Yeah?

[Izuku might be blushing a little like the fanboy he is. Being called a hero ... becoming one because he's a knight. He has to admit, that feels really good.]

I've just started. But- I hope I can be considered one.
