🧙 WHO: Bakugou Katsuki + YOU
⚔️️ WHAT: Quests, Open Prompts
🕒 WHEN: All throughout March
🗺️ WHERE: Various!
⚠️ WARNINGS: Spiders in Prompt 3
(
Librirynth )
[ A quest to take down monsters? To test his skills through sheer combat? Like anything else is going to really appeal to Bakugou, let's be real. Now that he has more than one magic type to master, it's more important. His philosophy is that he would best develop under pressure. Through practical means rather than being tied up at the training grounds.
It's with a feral expression that he takes on this task, cracking his knuckles as he dips into the labyrinth. ]
DON'T BOTHER SENDING ANYONE ELSE! JUST WAIT AND SEE!
[ Time for a classic RNG adventure! Just how far will our heroes get, because Bakugou isn't actually going in there alone is he? ]
(
These Bumbles Don't Bounce )
You're going about this shit all wrong.
[ So says the blonde just sitting there with his hands in his pockets. Bakugou doesn't seem to be offering any assistance and will not elaborate unless asked further. Instead he just keeps watching with judging expression. This isn't something that is going to really be something done for "notoriety" so it's not something he's interested in doing. ]
Don't you have any brains in that head of yours?
[ It's not that, really. Not everyone is a nerd like Katsuki secretly is and has weird personality quirks. The reality is that Bakugou knows things that people wouldn't expect for him to. This is just one of those things... ]
(
Vital Venoms ) **SKIP FOR SPIDERS**
[ Isn't spider venom a pretty common ingredient used in magic and potions in general? So it's not surprising that there's a quest to go out to collect some since apparently they are getting a little too active and coming out and saying hi to people. That's why he's out hereand not because a certain nerd would also probably want some but likely get bitten in the process to deal with them even though this usually isn't something he'd be bothered with doing. ]
The hell does it matter if they are alive or not? Venom works regardless of the host still breathing!
[ Wouldn't it just be easier to collect the venom producing parts and bring them in? Katsuki is kind of grumbling about it when, wouldn't you know, he is the one walking right into one of those icky sticky webs! ]
Shit!
( Very Friendly Vines )
BACK OFF!
[ Anyone else coming into the forest is going to be met with a rather interesting sight - Bakugou dangling in the air by the ankle. One of those vines has wrapped itself around the area. Missing people is definitely something to look into but he hadn't anticipated this. ]
Shitty plants!
[ He blasts at the vine with a weakish fireball. Enough to be let go - only for another one to grab him by the arm. ]
Argh!
[ To be honest... Bakugou is going to keep trying to break free with sheer force and destructive magic. ]
( Double Trouble )
[ Let's say you're enjoying your day in Camelot City. Maybe you're having a good time shopping or eating at one of the cafes in the area. It's a great day and even better weather. It should be spent outside, right? Yeah, well... There's a loud blast that's going to totally ruin the ambience. Smoke billows into the air and being thrown from it is one Bakugou Katsuki. He rolls across the ground a little, looking a bit roughed up as he catches himself. Pushing himself up, he coughs.
That's when his opponent then launches themselves from the dust cloud, another fireblast obscuring everyone's vision. Bakugou throws up a barrier to block the incoming attack - smoke once again billowing all around them...
And when the smoke clears... It's not one Bakugou Katsuki that stands there. It's two. ]
( Wildcard )

[ This does make his body feel lighter. So they are definitely traveling faster. Bakugou gets the idea though. Secondary magics tire them out faster than primaries. By doing this, the clone is going to have to work harder to keep up. By the time that they decide to land, hopefully it will wear the other out.
It's a great idea. ]
It pisses me off that you thought of that first.
[ He's going out of the city entirely. Searching for a bit of farmland to land. ]
no subject
Mm... [It's less a response and more a sound to acknowledge she heard him. Ochako is keeping her eyes peeled for sights of the doppleganger following after them, to alert Bakugou as his secondary pair of eyes.]
That's fine...you can be mad at me. I don't know how...well I can fight that thing when it looks...l-looks like you.
[She felt it when she first struck the copy. The flinch, the hesitation, the sick lurch of her stomach when she heard that crack. Fighting Bakugou is easy, and sure they get roughed up a bit, but that's always controlled - never going too far as to really hurt the other. Never to be fatal. If Ochako really has to pull out the big guns, she's not sure if she can really follow through with it.]
no subject
This is much easier though. ]
It's not me. So you shouldn't have any problems knocking it the fuck out.
[ Because it's clearly not him. Just because it looks like Katsuki doesn't mean that it is. Ochako can tell the difference and something like appearances shouldn't be enough to trip her up. At least not in his opinion. ]
no subject
[But it doesn't really make it any easier. It may not be Bakugou, the real one, but Ochako still has to deal with seeing the face of her friend twisted in fear or pain, hear his voice cry out. She's still young, and that sort of thing isn't really easy to deal with emotionally, or mentally. She doesn't have that sort of mental fortitude. It dregs up a lot of really nasty insecurities and painful memories all the same, even if it's not really him she's putting down.
She squeezes her eyes shut, taking in a long and shaky breath to steel herself, feeling moisture on her cheeks and shakes her head. It's fine. Something she just has to endure.]
Just be ready to support me, okay? [Ochako can already hear distant blasts catching up to them. It's following.]
no subject
Haven't I been doing that already? You're the one who picked out the fake. I'm just a goddamn pony at the moment!
[ Speaking of - there. Right there. Bakugou begins his descent down into the clearing. Time to be ready to take this shit out. ]
no subject
She could have been fooled into hurting the real Bakugou, easily, and that thought makes her sick to her stomach.]
Mm, you're way more than that. [Ochako slides off Bakugou's back, and just in time, too. She catches sight of a blip of straw-like hair from a distance. She takes on a defensive position.] It's coming!! Get read--ah!
[She yelps, feeling something hot scorch her shoulder as a fireball darts part her. It was mostly targeting Bakugou, as he said, but considering there were so close, of course she got caught up in it, too.]
no subject
This thing has to be running low though. Bakugou himself hasn't expended as much as the fake has just trying to keep up. And secondary magic is exhausting. ]
Think about the sports festival -
[ That's all that he says before he takes off after the fake, getting in close quarters. The doppelganger isn't going to have the energy nor the heat to fend things off if Ochako chooses to levitate a bunch of shit then launch it at them both. ]
no subject
Wha--
[The Sports Festival? What does...oh. Of course. That diehard determination and the will to get back up, to fight past her limits, despite the outrageous difference in strength. She wasn't afraid to beat him up then, was she? Even if she didn't land a single hit, not even one, the fire she had back there was an empowering force. This isn't about her. It's about beating a fake because it wants to hurt her friend. Her actual friend. Ochako takes a deep breath, squeezes her eyes shut, and smothers all the nervous fear down. Don't think, just act. See the picture in front of you and close out everything else. There's only one enemy, just one.]
I'M GOING TO WIN!!
[Things around them begin to creak, to groan, to snap and pop as they lift up into the air. A farm have many things to use as ammunition, after all. Heavy hay bales, bags of feed, food and water troughs, wheelbarrows, even heavy duty machinery to harvest crops and move livestock. Plus, a whole slew of large and very solid veggies, too. Cabbages, melons, some gourds and summer squash...they picked the best place for Ochako to arm herself. Up, up, up they go, before each piece of ammo stops suddenly in the air, jerks like they've honed in on a single target, and launch themselves at the fake.]
no subject
Pushing Ochako forward is only the first step. Now that she's determined? Well Katsuki can do what he does best - go into the fray and go all out. That's exactly what happens. He meets his doppelganger head on. Close combat. While Bakugou is willing to work with others, this guy probably doesn't have that sort of inclination. That means he's not going to pay attention to the girl using her magic - not that Katsuki is going to give the fake any chance to. He'll meet blow for blow. Be the distraction.
Then when enough time has passed? Bakugou has a trick up his sleeve alright. It looks as though he's been spreading water throughout his little spat. The fake mocks him for it because no one here's afraid of a little mud, right? Jokes on this loser. As Bakugou conjures up another fireball? He doesn't aim for the doppelganger. He aims for the ground. Mud flies up, but so does steam, creating a blanket of cover.
He then launches himself into the air! ]
WHAT'RE YOU WAITING FOR, ROUND FACE!?
[ Bakugou's given her the perfect opening. ]
1/2
Now? She has to change that. And it's hard for her to do because she keeps trying to restrain herself. That reflex to never go beyond a point of no return. Heroes save, they protect, they don't...hurt people. Not to a point where damage is irreparable. And they flat out do not kill. That's what they've been taught. It's been drilled into their heads from the start. They still have to abide by the law, and murder is a crime. Heroes don't commit crimes.
It's a beautiful combo - Bakugou rushing in to distract the doppleganger with a frontal attack while Ochako orchestrates her own attack. Similar to her Meteor Shower, but less rocks and more a mishmash of all sorts of debris and junk around her general area. The control with which she moves her arms to pinpoint her target is almost artful, and even as the two blonds collide in a flurry of fists and magic, Ochako is already feeling the world beyond them start to fade away. I'm going to win!
With a harsh and almost animalistic shout, the girl touches her fingertips together and each missile shoots at the fake with pinpoint accuracy, and anything that even gets close to the real Bakugou seems to just arc out of his way. If she's controlling the trajectory, the skill is lost even on Ochako, she's got her eyes set on only the target before her. Win. No matter what it takes.
Win. Beat him. Beat him, beat him, beat him, beat him, crush him. Win.]
2/2
Ochako catches a final glimpse of the doppleganger's face before the last and heaviest object bears down on him and she's glad for the splash of mud that obscures the sight enough to not have her see the aftermath. The tractor crashed on the fake heavily, pieces of it flying off and Ochako is surprised it doesn't combust on top of everything else, too. She waits, staring at the scene a moment longer, in case there's anything movement within the pile, letting out the breath she didn't know she was holding when nothing...happens.
Is it over?]
no subject
Bakugou moves out of the way with a few blasts of fire. The area is still covered with fog, but it starts to clear out as item after item assaults the fake.
The doppelganger couldn't have made it through that. Now the evidence of that is the black-green goo that starts to mix with the mud. ]
The hell...
no subject
Aah...ow. [It's like someone just straight up kicked her in the chest, and Ochako has to just...take a minute to breathe a little.] I-Is...ngh--! It's gone? What...wh-what was that thing? And...a-are you o-okay, Ba....Baku...
[Is this a side-effect of using her kinetic magic like that? It feels like she was the one that got hit by a tractor. Her body's starting to ache like crazy, and the sharp pain in her chest is only getting worse and worse, making tears prick at the corners of her eyes and roll down her cheeks.]
Ow...owow... [Deep breaths, deep and slow breaths.] Ugh...o-overdid it...again.
no subject
[ He's fine. Sore, but perfectly fine. The fake had really worn him out too. Katsuki instead focuses on the green sludge coming out of the pile of debris. ]
Think it's gone.
[ Then his gaze shifts over to Ochako. Don't get the wrong idea. He's not going to run over and catch her or anything like that. Bakugou isn't that sort of person. However he will keep an eye on her. ]
We both did, yeah?
no subject
Ochako exhales, moving closer and wincing with each step.]
Mmh, don't get too close, j-just in case... I don't think I can fight anymore. [Not well. She'd be a liability like crazy as she is.] You look better th-than I do, ehehe... Let me see?
[She's asking to check him over, make sure he didn't damage himself with extended use of his magic. If he says no, she'll leave it be. Ochako really doesn't have much fight in her at all.]
no subject
[ He can get the couple of burns he did receive from the fake healed later. They aren't major, of course. Nothing that he absolutely needs to do anything about right now. ]
Let's go. No reason to stick around this dump.
no subject
[Breathing out slowly, Ochako follows after her friend, rubbing at her sore joints gingerly taking deep breaths in and out to try and force down the weight, weighted feeling on her chest. There's a moment where she glances back at the destruction she caused and feels a cold, creeping shiver run up her spine and the sharp sting in her chest again.
Man, she...doesn't ever want to do that again.]
I'll walk you back home.
no subject
Ain't going back to the house.
[ He'll shove his hands in his pockets and start to walk off. Towards where Ochako should be resting. ]
no subject
[She turns back to Bakugou, looking up from staring down at the ground as she was starting to walk forward a little, blinking owlishly. He's not going back--...? Why not? Did he have anywhere else to be today? It's really not a good idea to be anywhere right now, especially alone... If those weird fakes are crawling around, then it'd be best to stick close to each other, wouldn't it? Ochako jogs a bit to catch up, but stays a few paces behind her friend purposefully.]
Um...okay. Where are you going? I-I'll go, too.
no subject
Tell you when we get there.
[ Instead of her walking him home... He's gonna walk her back. ]
no subject
Fine.
[Though, as it becomes clear they're headed back to her shared home with the girls, Ochako is just going to sigh and tilt her head to one side, a bit defeated. She can't argue, doesn't have the energy to, but--] Thank you, Bakugou-kun... You should come inside, rest a little bit. I think there's leftover miso katsu left from yesterday...I can heat it up for you.
no subject
He doesn't respond to her thanks. Doesn't think he needs to. Her invitation, however... ]
For a couple of minutes. Yeah.
no subject
Tea? [Lord knows there's a pot of it on one of the burners...what with Momo living here and all.]
no subject
Just try to move him. ]
Yeah sure. Whatever.
no subject
It won't be long at all, maybe ten minutes tops, before Ochako is quietly setting down a plate of food and a mug of hot tea on the coffee table near where he's resting. She'd prefer if he just stayed the night, it's safer than him walking back alone, but Ochako won't press him to. She's too worn out herself, really... Amd grabs some throw blankets, putting one by the arm rest for Bakugou, if he wants, and then wraps herself up in one and just...curls up into a loveseat adjacent the couch.
She's so tired.]
probably a wrap?
