[ As nice as it is to be here with so many classmates, the girls of Class 1-A decide they need some "us" time, away from the boys. Midoriya mutters too much, Bakugou yells too much, Shinsou barely knows anybody, and Amajiki-senpai, well... He tries but he's not exactly the most thrilling company. No, the girls are better off striking out on their own, and so they pick a weekend and decide to go have a fun beach trip!

First, they shop for whatever supplies they may need before leaving Camelot (food, beach blankets, umbrellas, a swimsuit-- if you dare risking a dip in the icy waters, that is!). Then, they rent a carriage and head for the bay. They spend a carefree, fun, relaxing day on the beach and then take the carriage back to Red Springs. It's too long of a journey there and back to do all in one day, so they've gotten rooms at the inn for the night. And, it's the perfect opportunity to visit the springs themselves, and get a good soak in! All in all, it's the recipe for the best trip ever-- or rather, the best trip you can have when you're all stranded in a fantasy land outside of space and time. Semantics. ]

01. I'm Gonna Pop Some Tags

[ Momo does a bit of shopping before the trip, trying to decide between two outfits she could wear to the beach. If she were still back home, with access to her family's money, then she would do the simple thing and just buy both of them! But, she's trying to live within her means here, and that means until she can earn more gold, she can only afford one beach ensemble. ]

Which do you like better? The maroon or the black?

02. Sunny Days

They couldn't have hoped for better beach weather. Sure, the water's still fairly cold (it is still March, after all), but the sun is warm and the breeze is gentle enough to keep them from overheating and getting too sweaty. Momo lounges on her beach blanket, grazing on the finger sandwiches she brought, little by little throughout the day, instead of eating one big meal all at once. She brought a small cooler bag with bottles of iced tea and water to make sure everyone stays hydrated. She's happy to just lie back and enjoy the sunshine, but if anyone feels like starting up an impromptu game of frisbee or beach volleyball, she'll happily join in if asked.

03. Unwind Yourself

[ That night, as they dip into the hot springs for a rejuvenating soak before bed, Momo looks up at the clear night sky, full of stars forming constellations she doesn't know or recognize. She sighs, feeling the relaxation of a day fully enjoyed, but there's a soft sort of wistfulness to it, too. ]

I wish Hagakure-san and Ashido-san could have been here today. They would have enjoyed it, I think. [ She smiles, trying to keep the expression a happy one instead of a worried one. ] I do hope they're alright...

[ Momo can always trust Jiro to say what she is thinking. Sure, Momo wants to buy them both, but... For the first time in her life she's trying to work within a budget. ]

Well, no. At least, they're not that expensive, if I'm figuring the conversion of Yen to Gold right. But... Would that be overkill? It's still too cold to actually go for a swim. And I don't know if I'll still be here by summer time.

'Sides, if we won't be here by summertime, all the more reason to spend the money you've got, right? The locals aren't going anywhere once we're back home - you'll be helping them out by buying their stuff while you've got the chance.

[ Though really... Since when has Momo ever been a messy eater? She's going to eat carefully and daintily with her pinkie extended, and dab up any crumbs with a napkin. ]

You're right. It's our duty to stimulate the economy of Camelot while we are staying here. It's the least we can give them in return!

[ Momo blushes when Jiro points out the incongruity of her needing to borrow money. She so rarely felt uncomfortable about (or even noticed) the financial disparity between herself and her friends, but now that they're all on equal footing, it feels awkward to have her sudden relative poverty pointed out. ]

Mm, no. I think I can cover it myself. But thank you for the offer.

[ She pulls out her phone and checks her banking app really quickly, doing the mental math. ]

If... you could pay for the snacks we'll need today, however, I would appreciate it.

[With her hair tied up in a tight bun, Ochako sighs as she sinks a bit deeper into the hot, soothing water of the springs, letting the heat soak deep into her body. Today was so, so much fun...and she's so glad that her friends are here to have spent this day with. That is, until Momo brings up the ones they're still missing. There's a wistful, bittersweet smile on Ochako's face as she looks up at the starry sky, and the brilliant moon up above.]

Mm...me too. I really miss those two so much. I know they'd both lose just being together with everyone. [Honestly - Mina and Hagakure were the most energetic of the bunch next to Ochako. It's why she got along so well with them. They were the Genki Girls - full of spunk and spitfire.]

[ Momo's own hair is tied back in its usual updo, the tips of her ponytail touching the water as she soaks. She sighs, melancholy as she thinks about her friends back home, frozen in time, in some kind of unknown and unspoken peril. ]

We just... have to believe that we'll be able to see them again soon. We'll work hard to master our magic and solve whatever problem they brought us here for.

[Master our magic. Ochako tries to hide it as best she can, but there's a definite change in her expression as her fingers curl into tight fists under the water. Her face darkens for just a moment, smile tight and jaw clenched, before she relaxes again. Out of all her friends, Ochako's felt--...no, she knows she's the farthest behind in getting her magic to work right, and it's been a huge damper on her confidence, which already wasn't...the best.

No matter how hard she tries, or what she does, it just...doesn't work the way she wants it to. Not only that, but her familiar seems enigmatic and uncooperative...like Ochako is missing something - something that's just out of her reach. It's very frustrating.]

M-Mm...right. You're right, Momo-chan. We have to do our best for everyone here, right? B-Because we're heroes! [Well, trainees, but close enough.]

Mm! [ Momo doesn't miss the darkening of Ochako's expression, but she doesn't want to bring the moment down. She makes a mental note to follow up on that later. Something about what she said made Ochako sad somehow. She'll definitely want to find out what that thing was so she doesn't say it again. ]

[ She takes a deep breath, trying to think of a way to keep the conversation afloat, and light. ]

What type of magic do you think the others would get? I think Hagakure-san would be well-suited to light magic.

[Please do, Momo-chan, Ochako certainly does need someone to talk to in that regard, just to air it all out. It'd be difficult, since there most certainly is a hint of jealousy building up as well, but...it'd be best to explain it to a close friend.]

Plus Ultra!! [Pumping her fists up and out of the water with a bit of gusto, Ochako giggles as she accidentally may have splashed her friend a bit, oops! Sorry, Yaomomo.] Eeh...light would fit Hagakure-chan...but I don't know about Mina-chan...

Maybe alchemy? Since that's kind of close to making all kinds of potions and poisons and stuff, right? Sort of like acid!

[ Momo closes her eyes to shield herself from the splash, but the smile doesn't leave her face. ]

Mm, alchemy would certainly be a great way for her to continue to use acid! Or maybe, if she had cognitive magic, then she could hypnotize her own backup dance squad!

Shopping with Frog

Tsuyu is pretty casual about most things, up to and including casual dress. There's no way on earth that she's going to be swimming in this cold water, but hanging out on the Bay? That's nice. It's a good time for it, and there's plenty of fun stuff to window-shop for besides clothes.

"...I really like that umbrella. Do you think I should buy it?" she asks, pointing out one covered in cartoon frogs wearing suits of knight's armor. "...Or is it a little too kiddy?"

Now, unfortunately Tsu can't get her favorite snacks here in Avalon. They just don't have the kinds of things needed to make them. So she's setting for the next best thing. Which is...actually she isn't sure. The other girls have all gathered up the food, and now she's looking at the spread.

"Cheese straws?" Momo had never heard of such a snack. She spies the bag of them and picks it up, studying the design on the front.

"I imagine it's some kind of straw-shaped cheese. Maybe like those sticks of mozzarella that you pull apart into strings?"

They look a little more crunchy, but no less good.

Taking the package, she pops it open with a quick tug.

"Let's try together?"

Momo smiles, peering into the bag and withdrawing one of the cheese straws, carefully held between two fingers so as to minimize transfer of cheese dust.

"Mm, sure! It looks tasty!"

"It does. That's why I wanted to try them. Since...I can't normally eat a lot of crunchy food."

She picks one up too, and sniffs it before taking a bite and chewing thoughtfully.

Uhh... [Jiro looks over the food they've all got, clearly kind of unsure. There aren't a lot of things in the world Jiro would use "favorite" for, and food's definitely on the list.
So instead, Tsuyu gets an off the cuff truth, instead.]

I dunno; I sorta just brought the kinda junk I'd eat back home with my folks... y'know, chips and stuff.
Looking at everything else, though, I feel kinda bad that all I brought is junk food...

Yes, but...I haven't really eaten a lot of that stuff. So your junk food is new to me.

[Tsu taps her chin, amused, thoughtful, and completely unbothered.]

Remember, most of the time I'm like a frog. And that means some foods will make me sick.

... Oh. Yeah, I guess I didn't think of that, huh?

[Jiro goes ahead and looks through the stuff she's brought, pulling out a bag of chips to open and place between the both of them.]

In that case, I'm glad I brought some stuff that's new for you to try!
Though, uh... now that I think about it, that means you mostly ate a lotta soft foods, right? Careful with some of these, they'll even hurt my mouth if I eat'em too fast.

[Thick cut chips are delicious, but painful... both blessed and cursed.]
