[ Akira's never seen so many bunny cafes in one place, not even in Tokyo. The search for Sir Fuzzleton, the fluffy Casanova continues and it doesn't look like it's going to conclude anytime soon. At least, Akira's not alone—looking for a very affectionate bunny is much more fun done in pairs.

He enters another bunny cafe with the person he's teamed up with and looks around, keeping his phone in his hand to peek at the screen with a picture of Sir Fuzzlerton to compare it with the bunnies hopping around the tables. ]

I wonder what kind of freebie we're gonna get this time. [ The previous cafe was really generous and gave out tumblers. ] Oh, here it is.

[ Someone from the staff walks up to them with two bunny hats before guiding them to a free table. ]

Maybe it'll help us find Sir Fuzzlerton.

[ He's not entirely serious but it would make things much easier. ]

( II: Magical smoothies )

[ Every now and then, Akira used to get a special smoothie sold only on Sundays on Shibuya station. The one's sold here look really good and he feels like trying some of them on a whim. What he doesn't realize is that there's a small text under each flavor.

Well, these smoothies definitely won't raise any social stats.

Drinking a Strawberry-Rose smoothie will make him very flirty. While it's not due to the drink, he might go wild with the puns. ]

I'm very smooth now. Do you know why?

[ Alternatively, someone might bump into him after getting a Butterfly Pea-Lemon Tea smoothie. If that's the case, Akira will be found sitting in a lotus position with his eyes closed. Is he meditating or sleeping? There's no telling without poking him. ]

Where's... [ A pause. ] The nut in donut?

[ He's either entered the path of enlightenment or is mumbling in his sleep. The latter sounds way more probably, though. ]

( III: Brewery )

[ Although Akira is still too young to drink, applying magic while preparing food or drinks is something he's been curious about for quite a while. If it turns out okay, he can always give it to someone who actually can drink so it doesn't go to waste. ]

Do you want to pair up? [ It's possible to make a drink following the recipe alone but the more the merrier. ] I wonder if this can be used for other drinks.

[ Yes, he has magical latte art in mind. ]

( IV: Familiar bonding )

[ Akira and Cat Sidhe started off on the wrong foot; his familiar is a proud one, so getting compared to a cat didn't help. Not to mention that Akira's spent over a year carrying a cat friend in his bag. Perhaps it's not too surprising that he projected some of the feelings on the familiar but it took him a while to realize.

To make up for it, he takes Cat Sidhe to a beauty spa in the Red Spring. If someone happens to be there as well, they might see a boy and a catlike familiar chilling together. ]

[He kind of stares at his hat before testing it. This is...a lot. Gaius is a tall, seemingly serious man about the same age as Akira, but he's build like an adult just about.]

Do you think wearing the hats would help?

We can try to woo Sir Fuzzlerton but I'm ready to get rejected. I'm not as fluffy as some bunny ladies around here, sadly. But maybe you should give it a shot?

[ He presses the paw to make both of the ears go up. ]

How about we get something to eat while we're here? It's already lunchtime.

[ Looking for a single bunny turns out to be quite energy-consuming. ]

[He gives the lightest snort as Akira tries out his hat.]

I know my hair is shaggy enough, so we could use that somehow? If I hid the rest of me behind a table and wore a hat?

[He's just spitballing ideas at this point and sighs.]

But maybe food would give us more energy to come up with something better. I don't believe I've really introduced myself. Gaius Worzel.

Akira Kurusu. [ It's only appropriate to give his full name in exchange. ] Just Akira will be fine.

[ Honestly, the weirder the ideas, the better. They're not dealing with a normal situation here. Unless a bar (cafe?) hopping bunny is something common. ]

That's a good idea, let's grab something here. [ Akira's going to sit by the nearest table, hoping that Gaius will join him. ] I guess we could try to bait him with food, too...that's a traditional approach, though. I wonder if not too traditional...

[ It seems that Sir Fuzzlerton is hungry for something different than food, oops. ]

[ These smoothies are bad news. They're even worse than Tamaki's """iced teas""" in making people talk nonsense, aren't they? Funny, though. Karma ordered the same as Akira and is busy pouring the contents of his cup into a glass bottle to save for later. ]

Are you about to tell me about your full Brazilian wax job? If so, then stop.

[fooligans]

[ "Save for later" sounds very sus given it's Karma of all people... ]

Already getting into my pants? You sure don't waste your time, I like that. [ Akira points at the glass bottle Karma's using. ] It won't taste as good later.

[ Rather than talking about smoothies, he'd rather go back to flirting. Thanks, Strawberry-Rose. ]

So...where did you get your killer looks?

[ Akira has no idea what he has just said. ]

[ TERRIBLE. This is horrific and is even more of a reason Karma wants to bottle this stuff up, never mind how it tastes because he is never drinking any of these smoothies, thanks, Strawberry-Rose. ]

Aw, flatterer~ I got them at the local department store on half-off Tuesday. It was a really lucky find!

[ Just gonna... reach over and ease Akira's cup away from him, and replace it in with a different glass bottle than the one he had before, containing a clear golden liquid. Have this instead. ]

[ Naoto raised an eyebrow at Akira's question. Oh, this can only go so well. ]

I bet you'd tell me even if I don't ask... so go ahead and say so.

[fooligans]

[ You know what, Naoto's 100% right. ]

Because I just had a smoothie. [ No one saw that bad pun coming. No one ever. ] Let me buy you one, too. It's on me, strong guy.

[ It's been a while but the memory of Naoto's distortion finish strike is still fresh in his mind, somehow. ]

[divinereaper]

[ Naoto groans. He saw it coming but that doesn't stop it from being bad.

But when Akira calls him strong guy, he can't help but wince. ] You're still on that...? I said I'm sorry!

[ Ohh, this place is Delightful. Minato receives his hat in awe and immediately puts it on, pulling it snug over his ears and giving the dangling paws a squeeze, ears waving at Akira. Utterly delightful.

Instead of sitting down at the table, Minato crouches down on the floor next to his seat and lowers himself in front of a little black lop bunny, squeezing the hat paws and wiggling his ears at it. The rabbit sneezes in his face and hops away.

...

Minato straightens up and takes his seat. ]

It said hi.

Did you get to ask about our gentlemanly bunny?

[ The "conversation" seemed short, after all. ]

He must be popular with the ladies. [ All these pop-up cafes aren't making this task any easier but Sir Fuzzlerton must be overjoyed. ] If we only knew his type...

[ Akira is taking this Very Seriously. ]

How about we take a break here and discuss what we should do next?

[ Oh. From the look on Minato's face, he did not ask, so enamored as he was over these hats that he completely forgot about their objective. ]

Break's not a bad idea... Couple cups of coffee to get us through a stakeout, maybe.

[ In this one cafe out of a dozen others, because Minato would hate to have to move after he'd gotten comfortable, leaning back in his seat so he can get that comfortable slouch going, and looking around the room with all the rabbits. ]

They're all cute... Maybe Sir Fuzzlerton likes all of them. If he's enjoying himself, shouldn't we just let him...?

[ Minato, with his half dozen girlfriends, has little to no intention of stopping this rabbit. ]

[ Pyrrha tilts her head when Akira mentions the word "freebie"; she'd never been to an animal-themed cafe like this one, so she has no idea what to expect. Freebies sound nice, though.

But this one in particular... She takes it and holds it in her hands, looking at it for a while before she decides to boldly place it on her head. It looks pretty silly. ]

Well? Should I leave it on?

[fooligans]

Definitely. We might find our bunny faster this way.

[ He's going to go ahead and press the paws attached to Pyrrha's hat to make the ears go up. ]

Let's stay here for a while, too.

[ If Sir Fuzzlerton can do some cafe hopping then so can they. As soon as they find a free table, couple of bunnies with tiny flower crowns on top of their heads. ]

I wonder if they're here to take our order.

[incinerators]

[ Her eyes widen when he makes the ears go up, and she can't help but hold back some laughter, though her expression gives way to the fact that she finds this hilarious. She sits across of Akira and smiles when they're approached by the bunnies. ]

I wonder, [ She leans down to gently pet one of the bunnies. ] are you here for our order?

[ A beat passes before she looks up at Akira. ]

...Though admittedly, I haven't decided on what to get yet.

( he's called Snagglefoot. Snagglefoot Miffen. even Kate has a hard time keeping a wholly straight face at that, her lips pursing and brows raising in an attempt to stave off the snort of laughter and look like she's instead scandalised by his thieving attempts.

the rest of the briefing passes in silent nodding and soon enough, they're pushed on out with a note on the direction he was last seen running. )

They were miffed.

[ Akira snorts. It was right there and thankfully Kate took that opportunity. ]

Who wouldn't be, honestly...

[ What if the tragic backstory of Snagglefoot Miffen was caused by the, let's say, an unfortunate name that was given to him. ]

He might have dodged a bullet, though. At least he's not Snugglefoot.

[ That would have been kinky. ]

( if you were going to have a supervillain origin story, surely you'd at least change your name before beginning your life of crime. )

Sounds like something you'd call a pet rabbit.

( in the direction of the inn, huh... she knows a shortcut or two, but heading up onto the rooftops with someone is difficult, and splitting up would only be an advantage if they had him in their sights.

which means they're doing this the old fashioned way. and they should probably plan for possibilities. )

[Goodness, no one loves free stuff more than Venti loves free stuff. Not only is it great to search for cute fuzzy bunnies but all the free stuff is great too. Even the cute bunny hat that is presented to them is keenly and swiftly placed right on Venti's head, replacing his usual hat. How does he look?!]

If Sir Fuzzlerton prefers the dead skin of his friends on our heads, maybe!

[Har har...]

Truly, maybe the cuteness of these hats will draw out his cute bottom too. We have to try anything and everything!

Pffft. [ That comment makes Akira snort. Venti surely has a point. ] When you put it like it, this strategy doesn't sound as good.

[ It's not enough to make him remove the hat, however. ]

Maybe we should rehearse our bunny impressions?

[ Does he mean practicing nose twitching by saying that? Maybe. ]

[No never, don't take off the cute bunny hats. Even if he thinks that if he were a rabbit he wouldn't want to see rabbit hats on people.]

Ehe- Are you much of an actor? Let's see how well you can do!

[That's a yes as Venti giggle in delight and wiggles his nose.]

III walks in late with starbucks

That's required of us, isn't it?

[Lethe, however, is old enough to drink! By...whatever young adult age is in beast laguz lifespans. Probably 40. Or 60. Round up to the nearest decade.

The laguz had a few small boxes of herbs in front of her; sage, mint, something that looked a little like mugwort, and several rather large chrysanthemum flowers. The cups she had before her were still empty while she examined the maybe-mugwort, tailtip flicking about in thought.]

I imagine other drinks can be enchanted in the same way. Alcohol is a handy solvent, though.

[fooligans]

I wouldn't be surprised if someone people would rather try this solo.

[ Especially ones who can drink alcohol. Akira himself looks through the ingredients he's got—it's mostly fruits because no one would trust him with herbs, most likely. ]

Do you want to do the honors?

[ That sprinkle of magic won't add itself, after all. ]

[Lethe set the sprig down, now certain it was in fact mugwort and not one of its lookalikes. Like poison hemlock. Which would be bad.]

I'm still learning this world's...magic. So I make no guarantees it would come out as intended.
