Winter is here, weather you like it or not

🧙 WHO: Ken Amada and you!
⚔️️ WHAT: February catch all
đź•’ WHEN: All of February
🗺️ WHERE: Here there and everywhere
⚠️ WARNINGS: None at the moment, I'll add more should they come up!

A. The Libryrinth (Closed to Harry)

[All things considered, Ken wasn't sure how well this quest will turn out for the both of them. However, after how well the last quest turned out, this one shouldn't be too difficult. It wasn't all that different from the last one they did. The only thing they needed to do was to look around for some symbols and report back, right?

With a sigh, Ken was hiding under a table in a library. As he looked at Harry and his familiar, Jack Frost, he wondered how much longer he had hide in the shadows.]

You doing okay, Harry-san? You don't see the librarian nearby, do you?

B. A Tall Order

[How did Ken end up in this mess? He didn't know but that didn't stop him from looking at the 3 foot elf before crossing his arms. This quest was simple enough but at the same time? It seemed a little too simple as he wondered if there was something he didn't quite understand.

As he looked back at the chair, he mumbled to himself.]

You know, you guys are making a big deal out of nothing. Why do you feel the need to prove yourself to the South Beach Elves?

[He said before said 3 foot elves started bickering at him.]

C. Hugs all around!

[Was it just Ken's imagination or did everyone seem to be a much happier mood lately? He wasn't sure but Ken was no different. As he was out and around with his dog, Koromaru, he decided to do a couple of things to keep this positive mood up. Ever since he got shot with a Cupid's arrow, he was feeling absolutely optimistic and feeling the need to make everyone around him just as equally happy.

Should you see him around, he might either try to tempt you with free food that he made (spoilers: It's fried rice that is just decent at best), going out for a run (and he might bump into you!), or see him randomly talking to Koromaru about why dogs are better than cats.

Pick your poison.]

D. Network

UN: Koromaru

Quick question, how do you handle being homesick? I've been here for almost 2 months and I am starting to miss a couple of my friends.

What do you do when that happens?

One of my school’s founders had it living in there after having an argument over who gets into the school, then centuries later, a friend of mine got possessed and was tricked into releasing it to the school, petrifying anyone who looks at it.

(Harry doesn’t want to scare Ken off about the whole blood purity thing, nor does he have the time to explain the events in his second year right now with the Librarian on the prowl.)

I was able to find out it later and stop it before it could trap more people in a statue like coma.

Well, I did killed the Basilisk with a sword of one of the school founders in the underground chambers, and I used one of its fangs to destroy a diary that had a soul who was possessing my friend up until that point.

(It’s not everyday a 12 year old faces and kills a Basilisk to save an entire school and one’s friends back home and, yes, it happened way back when he didn’t know what a Horcrux was until much, much later.)

At least no one will use it to petrify more people in the school again and my friend is no longer possessed by anything ever again.

(Oh boy, Ken wasn’t kidding when he said that there was something out there and it ain’t the librarian at all. The swift speed it was running in is quite noticeable and makes it harder to tell what it is now, but Harry also sees the thing and his jaws drop in shock upon seeing it himself.)

Yeah, I think I saw it as well. I can’t figure what it is with it being so speedy, but it is definitely not the librarian at all. She couldn’t even try to run this fast.

(It wasn’t long before he notices some strange symbols within the bookshelves, alerting him to get a closer look at them as he looks at one of them on the shelf to see what it is.)

Hey, look at this one here. There is a symbol on this bookshelf over here. I’m not sure what it is right now, but this one is eerie to say the least. If only we know what they mean and why are they here for, as well as why the librarian is trying to keep things within this library a top secret.

(He soon finds more mysterious symbols on other nearby bookshelves, one being more cryptic than the last. This both intrigues and spooks him out at the same time, wondering what’s the purpose of the symbols on the books and why the librarian is trying to hide them and what lies behind the shelves.)

I am also thinking the same thing as well too, Ken. I’m hoping that she doesn’t have something similar to the Basilisk hiding somewhere in the library. Either way, I’m hoping to figure out what these symbols are trying to tell us something soon.

(Harry is also jotting down notes about the symbols and what they might be about on a notepad, hoping to piece them together about the library’s secrets.)

By the way, do you have some theories as to why she’s trying to hide whatever is living in the library?
phoenixwiz: (Channeling My Inner Hermione)

[personal profile] phoenixwiz 2021-02-20 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
(Yep, even Harry can relate to the whole people trying to keep stuff secret away from him and his friends way too many times before in his world, so he does feel the same way about this as much as Ken does.)

I am also hoping that there’s nothing that can harm anyone in some form too. A lot of the adults from my world have a tendency to make things more complicated by trying to keep some information too secretive from me and my friends for a long time.

(He is nearly done compiling the information on his notepad to show the others what they have found in the library when he does think about the maze again and what could be inside of it.)

Hey Ken, do you want to see what lays inside the end of the maze of bookshelves or do we need to get out of here before she tries to catch us?
phoenixwiz: (When He Smiles)

[personal profile] phoenixwiz 2021-02-21 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that is quite relatable after all. I can imagine all the times the adults I know of trying to keep things away from most people and kids and things can go any way depending on how everyone handle the situation.

(After he finishes writing down the information on the notepad and stashes it and the pen into the rucksack, he the comes to a realization that they have to leave as quickly as they can before they go deeper and make things harder on themselves.

He and Ken have to get out of the library right away before things get more complicated for them.)

Right, it looks like we should get out of here right now. That monster could show up at any moment and the librarian might catch us off-guard as well if we don’t leave right away.

(Harry nods in return as the two of them make their escape from the library, he is keeping an eye on the monster in the event of it trying to attack them.

The maze of bookshelves could have easily gotten anyone lost or confused, though both he and Ken are fairing well so far. Though Harry did saw glimpses of the monster from the holes between bookshelves again, he didn’t want to risk wasting his time fighting it for the time being.)
phoenixwiz: (What?!?)

[personal profile] phoenixwiz 2021-02-24 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
(Uh oh, the monster has finally caught up with them all the sudden! While he initially froze in fear, it didn’t took long before Harry uses his kinetic magic to send the monster flying towards a pile of books to stop its momentum temporarily.

After regrouping himself from the shock, he proceeds to levitate several booms from the bookshelves and command them to attack the monster when it got up.)

Well, I wasn’t expecting the monster to show up all the sudden without warning.
phoenixwiz: (What?!?)

[personal profile] phoenixwiz 2021-02-26 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
(Even though he didn’t say a single word, Harry follows through Ken’s words as he also makes a run for the library entrance as fast as he could, not even trying to look back at the monster that may or may not able get up from its book pile daze and running after him, Ken, and Jack Frost.

He could feel his heart racing and adrenaline running his veins as he and Ken head for the entrance as quickly as they can.)
phoenixwiz: (What?!?)

[personal profile] phoenixwiz 2021-02-27 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
I’m alright... Oh Merlin, Ken, hang in there! Let me help you out.

(As Harry rushes in to Ken’s aid, it wasn’t long before he overhears a loud roar from the monster, alerting him that that creature could be after them. He quickly gets Ken’s arm and drapes it over his neck, and escorts him and Jack Frost away from the library and lets the younger teen lay down on the bench before he shuts the library doors closed before the monster could reach them.)
phoenixwiz: (We Need to Talk)

[personal profile] phoenixwiz 2021-02-28 08:23 am (UTC)(link)
I am also thinking the same way too. I didn’t expect the monster to be that fast to chasing after us in the first place.

(To be fair, he has dealt with scary fantastical creatures in his world, but that’s nothing compared to the monster that he and Ken had just seen in the library: that thing could give the Basilisk a run for its money.)
