Before the wedding

King Arthur is around to meet with people at the wedding and talk with anyone who would want to do that. (OOC: However, to thread with Arthur you have to reply to someone else inside the log before that. This is to ensure Arthur doesn't take the spotlight out of the wedding.). Merlin is also around but won't have a thread to interact with (but you can assume he said hi).



The ceremony

A sacred circle has been made. Jean and Mikasa gathered the needed materials for the circle a week before the ceremony. There are items that represent all of the different magic types in a symbolic way. One of the items was gifted by a family member, one by a close friend. All of them are mostly simple items that somehow represent the different magics, like a herbal leaves for Healing magic or a potion for Alchemy.

King Arthur begins the ceremony by blessing the circle and anyone who is close to either Jean or Mikasa will be invited to gather around the circle. Jean, Mikasa and Arthur take their positions in the circle and the guests around the circle are asked to hold each others' hands.

Arthur then ties both of Jean and Mikasa's wrists together with a red ribbon dyed with ground crystals and quickly prick them with the tip of a spindle through the ribbon. The blood on the ribbon is said to tie their souls together, so that even if they are separated, they will always be able to find one another again even across the universes, life, and death. Guests at this point start to sing an acapella version of the couple's chosen wedding song, which is A Thousand Years (which was given to everyone with the wedding invitation when they were sent, even if not everyone invited was around the circle necessarily).

During the song, Arthur performs a wedding-specific spell that calls the ribbon off of their wrists and folds it into a rose, which is then alchemized so the crystals solidify and create the couple's wedding rose. Jean and Mikasa exchange rings at this point (given to them by Mukuro, who is Jean's bestman) and kiss, and with that the ceremony is complete.


Wedding Reception/Afterparty

After the wedding ceremony is concluded, Merlin does some magic and sends Arthur home and the wedding guests to the wedding reception. He doesn't do something like often because the ritual of transfer takes a lot out of him, but weddings are special occasions and full of love energy (Love is the strongest force of all, that's one thing he agrees with Morganna. Merlin will also be at the party in a disguise.

The party is more open to anyone who knows Jean or Mikasa or knows someone who knows either of them. It's held at Lord Zidane's Castle in his lands, Atys, near the Ruins of Celliwig.

There are beautiful flowers around the party from Moondrop. Various kinds of dishes are on buffet tables and, of course, desserts and the Cherry Blossom-themed wedding cake are both on their own table.

Both Jean and Mikasa's dogs (Snow & Hazel) are at the party with cute pink ribbons tied to the collars and they accept all sorts of attention as well. Their cat (Sakura is lounging in a special pet corner with a cat tree and other entertainment for any animals (pets or familiars) to use. There are also cakes and other types of food meant for animal companions so they don't get left out of celebrations.

The rose that came with the ceremony is on its own table and anyone who touches it will be able to physically feel a sensation of love Jean and Mikasa have for one another.

[It's their first dance as a couple at its last moments. Jean and Mikasa seem to be completely in their own world, smiling and occasionally kissing.

Jean still feels like he's the happiest person there ever was. This day had been perfect and now he was married to the woman of his dreams. His one and only true love. There's there uncontrollable giggles and just smiling the whole time.]

I love you so much words will never be enough to describe the feelings.

[He puts a hand on Mikasa's cheek, cupping it.]

[It sure feels like they're in a world/space/place, where there's no one else around them and Mikasa doesn't even want that feeling to go away anytime soon. She just wants to smile at Jean, keep doing all of this dancing and kissing with him and she could stay forever right here. Someone would break that magical bubble somehow, eventually, but at least they're in their own space for now.

She gives a laugh at what he says and her smile becomes even warmer if that's even possible.]

Then lucky for you? There are even better ways than words to describe all of them.

[She nuzzles his nose. Eskimo kisses, enjoy, but she gives a quick, soft, real kiss too.]

[Jean chuckles softly at that and the eskimo kisses, gladly kissing her for real and bringing the hand from her cheek into her hair.]

Lucky me. For that... and for marrying the most amazing person I've ever met.

[He puts his forehead on hers. The song is close to finishing, but they still have a moment to just be like this.]

Jean Solo Top Level

[When Jean isn't attached to Mikasa he's mingling with the quests of the party. His smile has never gone out and he looks happier than he ever has during his stay in Avalon.

You may find him playing with the two dogs or petting the cat, telling them how well behaved they all have been and giving them treats meant for them.

He will also agree to dance once the first dance has ended, if anyone cares to ask him.

But mostly he's greeting people.]

[Later, he can also be found staring at his phone, of a picture taken of their wedding and turning to show the image to the nearest person with a goofy smile.]

[Dimitri is, for the first time, wearing a modern-day suit. He had to get one tailored to his height, but it was worth the expense, since it looked fine on him. He also tried to tie his hair back. And right now, he's offering a hand to shake.]

[Jean gladly shakes his hand with a wide smile on his face.]

[ Of course Minako attends the wedding. She even made sure to look a little bit more appropriate - read: not wearing bright neon coloured clothes for onced in her life - for the sake of being a good wedding guest.

But even when Minako dresses in a way a more ordinary person might dress for once, you can't fully take the Minako out of.. well, Minako. Which means that when she spots Jean greeting people, she's quick to just run through the crowd towards him, grabbing one of his hands with both of her own and shaking it with entirely too much energy. ]

Jean, I'm so happy for you..! It's such a beautiful ceremony!

[ Yes, even the volume of her voice is entirely Minako. Way too much.

At least it does seen like she is very genuinely excited for him. That's where all that energy is coming from in the first place. ]

[The energy and the volume are definitely very Minako, but Jean wouldn't want her to be anything else, to be honest. She's the greatest when she's herself. Jean is smiling very brightly, clearly high on the excitement and love he's feeling.]

[Eventually Hijikata finds his way to Jean who, of course, is the most wanted man at the party. He clasps a hand on his shoulder.]

Jean, congratulations. Now you two won't be separated, no matter what happens.

[Given that Jean, Mikasa, and Hijikata all have been isekai'd at least twice already that's very meaningful!]

We've already been brought into two worlds together so having a reassurance that the luck won't run out is amazing.

[Just taking a look at the photo he was showing her- oh, that was when she’d given them the rings, and he was putting the ring on Mikasa’s finger… whoever had been doing the photography was very skilled, it was a lovely shot.]

[At least Mukuro isn't judging him for asking such a silly question. He's just still kind of finding it hard to believe he really married the woman of his dreams and is now her husband which is why looking at the pictures feels like a dream.]

[Rei dressed properly for the occasion, for once. His tiddies are put away and his jewelry is tasteful, so if you don't recognize him on first glance it's completely understandable. He's staying mostly out of the way with a drink in hand, people-watching. It's almost a surprise Jean invited him? But otherworlders gotta stick together, seems like.

At some point in Rei's people-watching, his eyes follow Jean and Mikasa.]

Ain't that sweet.

[He actually looks kind of... sentimental? Nostalgic?! Nahhh, it's a trick of the light.

He can also be found amusing himself at the wedding rose, with slightly more of his usual orneriness. ]

Reminds me of that one movie, heh. [you know, B*auty and the B*ast!] If it starts shedding petals, watch out.

[ Per tradition, Arthur is present for knight's weddings. He's proud to help out and wish happiness to those who serve him in one of the noblest of professions. But before the ceremony begins, he is hanging around and greeting people, using the opportunity to say hi to people in a situation he doesn't often get. He's taken the advice of his fellow kings from other realms, however, and decided to come early to enjoy himself. Perhaps he cannot stay for the whole party, as the mission to find what is needed to bring an end to the calamity is pressing, but he is enjoying saying hello to new and old faces. Even if Merlin is lurking around making sure no one is cozying up to him suspiciously. ]

[It's not often that Hijikata sees Arthur catching a break like this - okay, so he still has a job to do here, but for once it's something pleasant and (hopefully) risk-free! -, so he greets him leisurely and, miraculously, without any mission relevance.]

[This was Mukuro’s first time seeing Arthur himself up close… and of course, the natural response was to stare at him for a few moments whilst he greeted people, mouth partly open.

She should. Probably say something. And not just stare! But all knowledge of how to greet royalty had vanished entirely from her mind.

It’s okay, Mukuro, just introduce yourself as Jean’s squire and best man… that wasn’t too hard, right? She’d been registered as a squire under ‘Junko Enoshima’, until she felt she was ready to accept training as a knight under her true name.]

[Standing to attention, she gave him a salute.]

[Archer had no plans to actually come to the wedding, despite knowing the bride, but he was dragged to it anyway because of one of his girlfriends'. He didn't really expect to see King Arthur there.

A ⦿ The Ceremony

[Hijikata doesn't think he ever attended a proper wedding (the arranged one between his Commander and that huge gorilla Amanto princess, which was ultimately crashed and cancelled, doesn't count, okay). While he usually shuns private parties this is much too important and happy an occasion to not show up to! As usual he considers his uniform from home formal enough. It's actually the first time he sees the bride, and she's a lovely sight, glowing with happiness along with her groom.

So King Arthur weds his knights personally... Hijikata is pretty sure that at this rate he himself will remain a bachelor until they've resolved the calamity issue, but it's still a weighty moment to see him bless Jean and Mikasa's union. Having recently learned what kind of a crapsack world they both come from this feels all the more rewarding to him, even as an observer... though he's a participant, really, standing in the circle around the lovers and singing with the others (in a really low voice, because frankly, his singing isn't all that).

If anyone sees him tearing up, no you don't.]

Ugh... something got in my eye...

B ⦿ Wedding Reception

[Being in Atys, which is within view of the Forest of the Felled where he spent the last cold season, makes Hijikata nostalgic - but moreso it's great to see at a glance through the castle windows what a lively township it has developed into. They are making a difference on this island! But today, of course, the focus are the newlyweds. He unconsciously smiles as he watches them laugh and kiss.

Naturally he helps himself to the buffet (and, yes, adds his usual mayonnaise... hopefully none of the cooks have to witness that), plays with the pets a little (he does have a soft spot for cute creatures), and eventually admires the crystallised rose on display.]

Is it really okay to touch it? I feel kind of scummy, getting a taste of other people's love second-hand.

I think the point is they want to share their happiness with you. Or something.. equally gross.

[ Emerald definitely isn't dressed for a wedding. She wasn't even at the ceremony, she's showing up to deliver a gift and a card and book it because she feels positively uncomfortable about every aspect of this day except that Jean and Mikasa are ok by her and she only wants them to be prank-miserable, not actually miserable. Thus, gift and booking it. ]

[Did... did he really just put mayo into the wedding food. Archer stares at Hijikata's plate of food with a judgemental look. He may not be one of the wedding's cooks (he's just here because he was dragged here by his girlfriend, even if he knows the wife), but it's a crime against food like this.]

A) Ceremony

[Mukuro had the honour of being the dedicated Best Man for the wedding (who said that a girl couldn’t be the best man, right?) And, well… as it had felt wrong to turn up to your brother’s wedding as someone else, she was actually there as herself- looking surprisingly well-dressed, in a smart suit.

She’d taken the time to practice the chosen song of course, glad to have the advanced notice this time! And as it turned out, she was actually quite the skilled singer, her voice clear and true as she sung with the rest of the group.

And she couldn’t help a smile come into her face as she watched the ceremony. It really was beautiful… somehow, it made her feel hopeful. Both for Jean and Mikasa, and for whatever it was that was to come.]

…This is…hope, huh…? Yeah, I think they’ll be okay.

[She’d need to break from the circle to present the couple with their rings soon, but for the brief moments before and after that, she could enjoy the moment.]

B) Wedding Reception

[Mukuro was not the most… comfortable with social mingling, especially when she didn’t have the crutch of pretending to be her significantly more extroverted sister to fall back on.

Still, she helped herself to some food from the buffet, and found a suitable spot where she could wallflower- but she’d happily chat to anyone nearby.]

That ceremony was beautiful, wasn’t it…? I’m glad I didn’t mess up…

[Perhaps it was coincidence that Mukuro ended up spotting both her brother figures at the buffet- or maybe not, considering at least two of them were more comfortable playing security than mingling at a party, and the food table was a safe, neutral location.

But so it was that Mukuro came over to them both with a small, awkward smile. And an empty plate in hand.]

[And that was the sound of her stomach growling, much to her embarrassment.]

[While Archer does know Mikasa, he was mostly dragged into the wedding by Rin. So here he was... casually just at the wedding reception. A wallflower.

Not that he expected to be talked to all of a sudden.]

Yeah... it wasn't like any wedding ceremony I've seen but it was a nice one.
