🧙 WHO: Taichi Nanao, Hikaru Hitachiin (A closed prompt), and A Flash Mob (OTA)
⚔️️ WHAT: Hikaru told Taichi that he thought it was more likely a planet made him gay than that he caught feels for him and that he needed time to sort it out. like a month ago. Taichi's been as patient as he's physically capable of being and has gathered a number of friends together to flash mob Hikaru and ask him out for a date. Anyone who helped out with the flash mob is invited to a cafe afterward to have dinner together as a thank you! Flash mob is very much in a public area and includes Ren, Tamaki, Takao, Miwako, Crow, and.. anyone else who wants to say they joined in! Taichi is very open so would welcome anyone who wants to help and can dance. (Those are just the people who expressed interest, anyone is welcome to join in the after party and assume they were involved if you want!)
🕒 WHEN: Midday, January 17thish, after going shopping with Hikaru for new clothes.
🗺️ WHERE: Somewhere mid-Camelot City
⚠️ WARNINGS: Juicy Pants.

[ They've been walking for some time, and Taichi is carrying their shopping bags around, having taken Hikaru's at some point because Hikaru often times just hands him things. He's slowly starting to realize that it's a pattern-- but that's a tale for another day. They've been out shopping for clothing and despite that it's the end of their trip, Taichi is buzzing with energy. An energy that's reflected as the loudspeaker in whatever shopping area they're in starts playing a a song from the early 2000's, Kylie Minogues "Can't Get You Outta my Head."

Starting with just one person dancing, people start to clear out of the area as more and more people join in on the dance. As requested, everyone is dressed in whatever they believe fits the "2002" theme. At a certain point in the song once everyone else is in, Taichi turns to Hikaru and hands him the shopping bags. ]

Hold this for a second!

[ And then Taichi tears off the clothing his was wearing, which was apparently secured as a rip-off outfit the entire time. Beneath it, he has on a skinny scarf, a pleather quarter-sleeve jacket, and the pride of 2002 fashion's sweatpants with "Juicy" plastered over his ass. Taichi joins in the dance to finish off the flashmob dance, then the whole thing ends with a big finale of Taichi getting down on both knees (careful not to do just one so it isn't confusing) and holds out a pansy to Hikaru. ]

Please be my boyfriend!

[ The dance mob disperses at that point at least, to give them time to talk after innocent bystanders clap and watch, since they need to converse about this of course! ]

LATER, AT THE CAFE (OPEN TO ALL)
[ Everyone who was involve in the flash mob is invited to a cheapy little diner cafe. Taichi... genuinely can't afford much, this basically used all of his money that he'd earned since arriving here and he's going to be eating inn complementary food for the rest of the month for sure. But he's offered to buy everyone at least 1 drink if they participated in the flash mob for him! And exactly two pizzas!

(Look, he can't afford more than two pizzas.. he will at least not be partaking so there's more for everyone else.)

Please enjoy a little gathering to meet and greet, laugh, and be merry! Anyone is welcome to post whatever they want and tag whoever they want for this prompt! :) Or just be at the diner and tag the rowdy group of people high fiving each other for a job well-done. Or maybe buy Taichi a rootbeer to drown his sorrows in. ]

[Hikaru sucks at language but even he can manage that one. It probably helps that he is the bourgeoise. But it's funnier if Taichi keeps saying words wrong so he isn't correcting it.]

It isn't even the best. Let me...[He takes the bottle back and sips. An indirect kiss if those even mattered at this point.] Yeah, not the best but my house gets our water from a spring at the foot of Mount Rokko so that's hard to beat. [That could come across as a subtle brag but it doesn't really register as one to Hikaru. He closes it up and puts it between them because Taichi can drink it if he liked it enough.]

[ Taichi has like a thousand questions from this conclusion he's drawn, and he figures he should at least check how dumb he's being before he dives into questions like how he gets to school from the mountain (A. Helicopter, B. Helicopter?! C. HELICOPTER!!) ]

[irritated]

No, I just get my drinking water from there. [When you're literally so rich you have water flown in.

But he does travel by helicopter and jets so...yeah, Taichi's not wrong.] I live in Tokyo, near the Bunkyo ward.

Oh! Veludo is in Tokyo, we don't live that far from each other.

[ ...Well, technically. Sort of. Different worlds, but Tokyo.. ]

[irritated]

That's even more frustrating! [He takes a bite from the parfait and yeah, the popping feeling is still weird but he can stomach this. Or he's going to try. It feels like a bad first step in this relationship is to deny the breakfast he spent money on.

Once he swallows, he explains.]

We're so close but apparently I'm from some past alternate Japan or whatever. If we were in the same Japan, the same time, then we wouldn't need to go through all of this to see each other.

[ At the very least, the poprocks are only on the top, so once he gets past that it's a normal granola, fruit, syrup, and yogurt parfait... ]

Maybe we just need to find the right frequency at the same park or something. That sounds like the kind of sci-fi thing that's possible.

[ Maybe? ]

Maybe. [Said with the tone of somebody who doesn't exactly believe that and he sighs, poking around at the parfait.]

I was thinking about that. About how we're not from the same Japan and I kept thinking about if I did I want us to go through all of that? Not being from the same world and what if we did date and we ended up separated...? I was thinking about this a lot. Did I like you enough to go through dating you and losing you? And after yesterday, it kind of hit me? Back in Prismatica, even through all that crap, I was happy with you. So...if it would make us both happy to date then we should just take the shot, right? We should just enjoy right now with each other instead of thinking too much about the other stuff, right? I don't think I'd regret any time I had with you.

[He doesn't exactly know where that came from but suddenly he's blushing and stammering through an explanation.]

Or something like that! Anyway! I don't know why I was suddenly so serious right now? It's not a big deal!

[ Taichi listens quietly, thinking about what he's saying. Taichi.. hadn't really been worried about that, and so he hadn't thought of it as a potential reason it was weighing so much on Hikaru's mind. ]

I'm glad you thought that much about me, but you definitely were overthinking it, Hikaru. [ He agrees completely with Hikaru, but also like. Bro that isn't limited to other worlds. ] We wouldn't be able to smile today if we only think of all the things that could happen to make it hard to smile tomorrow. You could break up with me or I could get possessed by a demon again or hit by a truck... but I definitely want to love you today anyway!

[ He smiles brightly. Taichi doesn't need to be dating someone to say he loves them, one day he'll differentiate seriously for Hikaru but he's completely fine with saying it now.. ]

[irritated]

[Love? That's a lot! It took him months to figure out he had a legitimate crush but love? There's no way Hikaru can say it back because the only person who hears that is Kaoru and the idea of saying that to Taichi is so much. Too much. His face is still red. Should he say something? Is it bad to tell him he doesn't feel that strongly...? Maybe it's rude? But then if he doesn't maybe that's leading him on? He likes Taichi but he isn't in love just yet. That's normal, isn't it? They haven't even been dating for an hour?!

Hikaru has no idea he meant it in a general sense but how could he when they were talking about dating? You can't shift gears like that!]

Love...?

[Please don't take it the wrong way, he's begging internally. He doesn't want to screw this up.]

Hm? Oh, yeah. [ Hikaru is once again overthinking it. Taichi at least catches on this time and quickly explains. ]

I guess it sounds weird since we just started dating, but it's like a different love? Not like love-love like.. You love your best friend. Or how I love Sakyo-nii or Ban-chan or Juza-san or Omi-kun or A-chan...

[ Taichi just has a lot of love in general. He definitely doesn't want Hikaru to think he's gone from 0 to 100. But he's also starting to overthink now, on a different level. ]

I have romantic feelings...? But not like "Kyaa, marry me, Hikaru!" That's like way too much. I promise I'm not a stalker! They need different words for love levels.

[irritated]

[He let's out a relieved breath and then laughs.]

I get it but geesh, how else could someone take that? Be careful or I'm going to have rivals here if someone takes that the wrong way. Taichi-senpai playing games with so many hearts?

[If he's teasing him then obviously everything is all good. ]

They won't take it the wrong way because I'll proudly declare we're dating.

[It feels really good to hear that and he can't really fight the grin on his face.]

[ Taichi finishes up his parfait and reaches to take a sip of Hikaru's water again. He's pretty sure he imagined there being any real difference but he's trying again...]

[irritated]

[Hikaru has never pretended to be modest and compliments usually don't go a long way with him. But when they come from Taichi, it feels really good and he is feeling stupidly happy about it anyway.]

Who says they'll be jealous of you? You're going to be the cool actor. Girls will be scrambling for your autograph and glaring at me~

[Maybe the compliment will only make the water taste better.] And then Taichi-senpai can buy me all the fancy waters I want and see how much better they are~ [And maybe he just wants to fluster Taichi.]

[ Taichi slaps his hand over his mouth to stop himself from spitting the water back into the bottle when Hikaru says that. Which means it spurts out over his face.. but at least it's not in Hikaru's drink... ]

Moouuu, don't say something like that while I'm drinking!!

[ IT'S JUST LIKE TRIPLE EMBARRASSING NOW... ]

[That was entirely worth it. Hikaru bursts out laughing at the reaction and grins, leaning in close as he wraps his arms around Taichi.

By now, Taichi should know one thing about Hikaru: it's all about getting the reaction and Taichi is very easy to get a reaction from.]

Do you need me to clean you off?

[And maybe it's gross but he's licking his cheek anyway because nothing is too far for Hikaru.]

[ Have you ever seen a man turn the same color as his hair, Hikaru?

Bc you have now.

It's a damn good thing Hikaru likes reactions because Taichi has plenty of them. ]

H-Hikaru! We've just had our first kiss, I'm not ready for you to be horny yet! I need to research!

[ That said, he definitely liked that way too much despite that he's accusing Hikaru of being horny... ]

[Hikaru has to turn his head not to laugh in Taichi's face but he can be heard. Taichi makes it too easy and he turns back.]

Oh, so it isn't that you don't want to? But only that you need to know more? There's always hands on experience... [He leans in to whisper in his ear:] Taichi-senpai~

[He'll stop soon but this is just too much fun.]

[ Hikaru!! EVEN IF THAT'S TRUE, YOU DON'T NEED TO SAY IT!! He's getting flustered and flustered and he turns his head after the whisper and pecks him on the cheek firmly! Deep breath! Determination! Put your foot down, Taichi Nanao! ]

You can't today, my face is all puffy!

[ ...He didn't sleep well last night, he doesn't look his best and he wants to look his best for Hikaru. This is the best he can do! ]

[irritated]

[There's something funny about how serious Taichi is when Hikaru was just joking but then there's also something very cute about it as well. Hikaru's romantic feelings are a mystery to him but they're there and that's all there is to it really.

Smiling, less teasing now, he leans in to peck Taichi's cheek and then his lips.]

You're fine. You're puffy but I am too. Besides I was joking. You think I'm the type to put out before we go out on our first date? [And their first time.]

I don't know yet!

[ Taichi grins, his mood being visibly lifted by the kisses again. He reaches to find Hikaru's hand to hold before leaning in for another kiss. ]

Some people say you're not supposed to kiss before you get married, so who knows? Maybe you're going to ruin me for marriage!

[ Thankfully, Taichi is just teasing him. He can barely even manage to sound accusing about what he just said.. even if he's intentionally vague so it's way less forward and less embarrassing. ]

[irritated]

[It's been a while since they held hands and Hikaru didn't think he would ever be the type to miss something as simple as that but he was so happy to hold Taichi's hand again without a care in the world. Like it had always been. With their fingers entwined, Hikaru squeezes his hand.]

Okay, no more kissing so you're all pure for marriage. Nothing but handholding from now on. [Hikaru sounds perfectly serious.]

[arf]

I don't need to impress A-chan that badly, take it back!

[ He wants his smooch privileges restored!! ]

[irritated]

Geesh, I can see you ready to beg. Lucky for you that isn't my thing so fine. [He brings Taichi hand up and kisses the back of it.] I guess hand kisses are okay.

[Dating somebody brings on a whole new way of teasing them.]
