happy holidays { open }
I. Arrival
There were postings around town, and fliers going out around the end of November. The holiday party starts early evening, December 1, thanks to the help of several hands. They had worked for a couple of days prior to the start to get the large ballroom decorated to everyone's liking. He had rented out a large ballroom, and started decorating the day before, adding finishing touches early on the day of. Everyone was invited - and while there's no real dress code posted, everyone is invited to dress their best for the sake of the party.
When one approaches the building, there's a clear set of rules posted outside written in neat script:
There's only a few easy rules to ensure everyone enjoys their night:
One, no fighting - if you have to - please take it outside.
Two, no weapons on the premises.
Three, all children under the age of sixteen must leave before nine in the evening.
Welcome in. Grab a mask if you want - or don't - and join the party.

II. Welcome In
When walking through the entrance, the first thing that is easy to notice is how it is decorated. It has the colors of the holidays - red, green, blue, white. It’s mostly deeper shades with pops of brighter shades of the color. On the right of the entryway there is a table with a dark blue cloth over it. On top of it is a wide array of masks - different styles, shapes, sizes. Whatever their heart may desire, you can find here. Masks are, of course, optional! But who doesn’t love a great masquerade?
Above it is a sign that says Yours to Keep - so they may keep whatever masks they pick up.
Next to it is a large book with lined paper where people can drop a short message about the winter holiday they celebrate at home - their favorite part, how they celebrate, anything they'd like to share with other people! This will be picked up at the end of the party.
Not much further ahead is a dancefloor to the left - spacious as ever. To the right is catering - set up as an elaborate display of food and tables arranged so people can sit and eat. There’s food from a variety of places, including Golden Silence. They’ll find not only savory foods, but sweet desserts. In the back corner, not far from the food is a bartender, who is happily serving free drinks for anyone of drinking age.
Past the bar is a hallway with a couple of private rooms. These rooms are quiet - with none of the noise of the party being able to reach them. They're perfect for stepping away from the party for just a few moments of peace and quiet. In this rooms, there's decks of cards and a few simple board games. Each room can hold up to four people and can be locked from the inside.
Don't worry - there's signs posted everywhere so they'll will be able to find what they're looking for.

III. With So Much To Do
A. Dance the Night Away
The music at the party is provided by a variety of individuals. Various talents have been invited through the night, even! If no one is set to perform, there's a playlist set to play. The music goes on non-stop and the styles that will be played will vary. Most of the songs will be fairly upbeat through the night. Some of them are slower paced - so pick a partner and dance.
B. Mistletoe
Throughout the venue there's going to be mistletoe set up in a few spots throughout the building. The spots they're hanging are easy to identify. Most doorways have mistletoe hanging from them. There's also a few prime spots where there's some hanging - such as the corner not far from the bar. It's a perfect place to steal a kiss.
B. Charity Raffle
Near the food, there's a sign directing people to participate and purchase tickets for the charity raffle for a few prizes for people. There's donations (or things purchased) from a few businesses around Camelot. All funds raised from the Charity will go towards helping everyone who lost things during the events with Celliwig/Lestari. There's a variety of things: brunch for two, a date package, opportunities to learn a new skill, and other experiences. Several prizes will be raffled off, and people may purchase as many tickets as they want.
IV. Late at Night
After 9 in the evening, the entire feeling of the party changes. The lights get lower and glowsticks become available just off of the dance floor where they weren't earlier in the night. The music remains upbeat, though there's no performers for this part of the evening - only a playlist cycling through a variety of songs. This is a perfect time to grab a partner for a dance, or grab a drink. There's no real end of the night in sight, people are welcome to stay as long they'd like - even into the next morning if they should want.
Just be sure they're out by lunch the next day when clean-up starts.

Some quick ooc notes:
QUESTIONS
Holiday messages!
This can be:
- What is the winter holiday you celebrate?
- Favorite traditions?
- Traditional food?
- Anything you want to share!
Louis will be collecting this post-party and may share some of what he learned after the party - so no need to add your name. :)

Then everyone is clean and it smells nice in the house. Then we have a gift to anyone who showed us kindness that year. It's not like the gifts here because we don't have shops, it's usually a thing we made for them that's like nice pair of sandals or good arrows. They give us one back. It's like saying, "I hope we have another year together."
When we watch the fire at the end of the year together people say that the goddess of the fire Honoka-sama is binding our fates together like the flames, forevermore, with the heat and passion that the fire you watched has. So, you might want to try watching a fire with someone you fancy. If you kiss them by the fire, it's very special meaning.

louis | beastars
[ He is dressed formally, though he has set his coat aside. He has also opted against a mask. He knows there's no real way to disguise his face, so he doesn't bother. Louis is throwing the party, so it's only natural for him to join in on the dancing. He's gotten good at dancing thanks to formal events at home. He moves to the dance floor quite often, finding partners to join him when the song calls for it.
b. food & drinkStill, he spends a little bit of time walking the edge of the dancefloor between dances. It appears, from the way he moves and watches, that he's not going to allow anyone to go without a dancing partner for long or act as a wallflower. So, regardless as to who that may be, as long as the song is right - he'll offer his hand, a polite smile, and a bow of his head. ]
We should dance.
[ It's only natural he likes the menu - he picked it out after all. With all of the options available, he still leans into bite-sized servings of castella cake or a picking up a few veggies to eat. He seems to be sticking to these options, and looks pretty pleased every time he eats. If he's ordering a drink at the bar, it's a fruit-filled alcoholic beverage. He is a fan of fruit drinks, tropical flavors, and sweeter things. Regardless, he'll glance towards whomever he's standing near and make an offer. ]
c. late nightsYou should try this. Or if you're not a fan, I can make a recommendation.
[ He'll especially target anyone who seems overwhelmed by choice. ]
[ As it gets later into the night, and drinks are had - Louis is certainly feeling the alcohol. Ibuki used to comment how much of a lightweight he was, and while he'd never admit it - he certainly does feel lighter and happier thanks to the indulgence of alcohol through the night. His antlers have been decorated with what looks like glow bracelets. There's a variety of colors and there's a lot of them there. He doesn't seem to bothered by them, and a periodic person may appear and add one on when he doesn't even necessarily notice.
d. wildcardHe finds a seat, drink in hand, and settles in to watch people dance. ]
I hope you've had fun tonight.
[ have any idea? feel free to hit me up with whatever Louis will be...everywhere! ]
c.
Hey, you're looking extra festive, but do you know people have been playing ring toss with you?
[He's a little concerned about it, but if Louis doesn't see any issue then he won't pursue the topic.]

Walter C. Dornez | Hellsing: The Dawn
[Walter, as many others, has taken steps to dress up tonight, and arrives in full white-tie regalia. However, on account of the short time available to prepare, the suit is rented, not fitting quite as closely as he would prefer.
He comes with his own mask; a simple pattern adorned with the stylized depiction of a star-speckled night sky, to which one small modification has been added — the eight-rayed Star of Bethlehem is nestled next to the right side — his right, and any would-be observers left — as a subtle nod to the winter holiday celebrated by his people. A few silvery, flowing lines have been added as well, to tie in with the lines adorning the white, full-fingered gloves made by his friend. It is an understated mask compared to some of the others at the gathering, but he has slicked back the fringe of his hair to show it off properly, only the forelocks on either side of his jaw left untouched. Being longer, they wouldn't look right if he were to tuck them behind his ears.
A paper-wrapped parcel carried in his hands, Walter pauses before the entrance, reading over the rules. His lips turn downwards as his eyes catch sight of the third, but he shrugs, and continues on inside.]
II. Welcome In
[Pausing before the book, Walter shifts the parcel so that it is nestled firmly under his arm as he bends to write. He's not letting it out of his sight until he gets it to where it needs to be.
His penmanship is cursive, a few lines of letters written in the English language as he explains his country's Christmas traditions, both religious and secular.
That done, he heads into the interior of the ballroom, surveying the setup in quiet contemplation before moving to the area designated for the charity raffle.]
III - C. Charity Raffle
[This is what Walter has come for tonight. Making a beeline for the area, he sets the parcel down on one of the tables and proceeds to unwrap it. Two thin, velvet-coated cases are inside — the sort meant for jewellery; having cut a substantial quantity of labradorite from Lotus Pod Mountain, he'd gone and had a few pieces made for this occasion.
One box bears a wire-wrapped tree of life pendant. The second box, larger in size by a fair margin, includes a set; an ornate necklace and a pair of carved earrings.]
III - A. (Not) Dancing the Night Away
[Walter is perfectly capable of dancing. He's rather quite good, for someone who hasn't been professionally instructed. But he does not venture out onto the dance floor to seek out partners. Accustomed to social isolation, mingling is far from second-nature to him, and so he sticks to the side-lines like a very nicely-dressed wallflower, neither chatting nor drinking, but quietly observing, scanning the sea of bodies for sign of a familiar face.
III - B. (Oh No, Not the) Mistletoe
[A dreaded plant. Walter catches sight of the sprigs early on, regarding them with a heated glare each time he spots a new one. The doorways have been booby-trapped, it seems. And that corner by the bar, too. Better give that a wide berth.
The doors, however, are a bit more difficult to navigate around.
Standing rigidly beyond the bounds of one of the 'kissing zones', Walter grumbles to himself.]
I wonder if I can use the windows instead...

minako aino | sailor moon | ota
(a. dancefloor)
[ Case in point - anyone who lingers even vaguely in the direction of the dance floor is in direct danger. Because Minako certainly won't hesitate to grab the hands of anyone standing there, whether it's someone she knows or someone she doesn't know.. or someone who might be a total mystery because of the entire mask situation.
Anyone's hands can be grabbed, and Minako will flash a huge smile at them as she already starts tugging your hands in the direction of the dance floor. ]
Come on, I can have at least one dance with you, right?
[ MAYBE.. ASK FIRST AND THEN TUG SOMEONE ALONG, MINAKO.. ]
(b. mistletoe)
[ #2 in the category of incredibly unsubtle hints that this masked person is Minako is the fact that you might spot her standing under a nearby mistletoe. Or even worse, perhaps you happen to be standing right under one with her.
A fate worse than death.
Because Minako apparently knows no shame. Or at the very least so little shame that she's saying, in the absolute most dramatic way possible: ]
Oh no, can you believe I'm trapped under a mistletoe..? If only someone would be a brave hero and give me a kiss..!
[ She is in no way actually trapped. ]
(c. charity raffle)
[ Minako can even be spotted in the direction of the prize list to the raffle. She seems rather serious as she's reading it, like she's paying some real attention to it.. but as she turns to you to - apparently - ask your opinion on something, all she says is: ]
What exactly do you think the date package is? [ Priorities. ]
b
And then she heard the blonde speaking. She turned around to look at her and... Minako? The voice had been a dead give away. With that mask, maybe she would have had a doubt... But the voice was unmistakable. Thus she looked up... Oh. There was indeed mistletoe. Heh. That was exactly the kind of trick she'd pull on someone she was interested in. But she figured Minako was just living her best life and doing this with everyone. She was like that-- Full of life and energy, in spite of what she hid beneath.
Monika couldn't help but wonder if she'd noticed it was her, or if she thought it was a random stranger. Just in case, she didn't speak. It would be interesting if Minako had no idea who she was. ]
....?
[ Instead, she looked up at the mistletoe once more before pointing at herself, tilting her head to the side, as if asking if she was the "hero" Minako awaited. ]

Amy Rose | Sonic the Hedgehog
[ After spending that time trying to plead her case, there was no way Amy wasn't going to come (even though getting kicked out at 9 was still completely unfair). She was just a bit disappointed not to have a date, but that was to be expected, and she was determined to have a good time regardless. She'd found the perfect dress, and even finds a mask that she really likes. Perhaps a bit too on brand, but then again she's never seen any other talking pink hedgehogs around here, so people who knew her would probably already recognize her anyway. ]
B. Charity Raffle
[ Amy is more than happy to take part in the charity raffle, wanting to help the people of Celliwig and Lestari in as many ways as she can. So she buys several tickets, and even donates some extra funds without purchasing any tickets.
But as she's looking over the list of prizes, she can't help a slight frown. ]
As cute as the date package sounds, I hope I don't get that one.

tsumugi tsukioka | a3!
[ Like many others, Tsumugi arrives at the party dressed his best, clad in blue with a simple but elegant white mask over his eyes. He's in good spirits, and while not the most confident in his dancing abilities, he's not shying away entirely from opportunities to dance. After all, it's not every day he gets to practice, and maybe he'll need to know how to waltz or foxtrot or whatever for a play one day.
So he can either be spotted lingering near the dancefloor, trying to look for someone he recognizes (not the easiest feat, given the mask), or taking a leap and, regardless of if he knows you or not, offering you his hand and a small smile. ] Would you like to dance with me?
b ❄ food & drinks (and mistletoe?)
[ In between dances and general socializing, Tsumugi retreats to the catering section to catch his breath. He's trying a little bit of everything, but going for seconds, thirds, and more of any food with eggs as the focal point. (think egg tarts and the like)
He's also taking the opportunity to partake in some drinks. While mindful of his limits (and not having the likes of Azuma or Hisoka around to quicken his pace), as the night drags on, it's only natural that the alcohol's effects on him become more noticeable.
Basically anyone who knows Tsumugi knows how passionate he is about acting. It's really no secret. Well, the alcohol amplifies that to a degree where, whether you like it or not, he's suddenly asking you about your favorite actors, or shows in general. Oh god.
(sober or not, he's not keeping an eye out for any mistletoe - so you may be able to catch him under a sprig at some point.) ]

Horus | The God of Calamity Wishes for Naught
[ Why steal a kiss when you can steal the kiss plant? Horus has to learn from other guests about the customs surrounding it, but eventually he decides to take one for his own and pin it to an outfit as similar to this as he could get someone to make for him with thicker robes for the winter.. and unfortunately, less ornate jewelry. He has his father's earring and his usekh collar on over it, but not much more in the way of jewelry. He'd much rather go to a tailor and get something he's always wanted to wear from his culture than someone else's okay? (...Notably, he has changed out sandals for what appears to be something similar to Ugg boots. His toes were cold, leave him alone.) For a mask, it couldn't be anything else, could it?
With this mistletoe, he can now demand kisses from anyone he chooses, right? Horus is going to approach people he knows with the mistletoe visible to see how they react before he tries anything, though. ]
B. Winter Celebration Self-Advertisement
[ Horus doesn't start off at the guestbook-esque station. For one thing he doesn't even know what it is, but when he realizes what it's for, he's happy to self-advertise. He's got his tongue out between pursed lips as he takes care to draw out a V for victory sign in the middle of his hieroglyphs, which automatically translate thanks to the spell. All in all, he looks very suspicious as he determinedly writes his masterpiece. ]
C. Glowing Personality
[ This world is full of wonders and magic that Horus has never seen before, despite being the child of their world's greatest witch, the goddess Isis and was conceived specifically to be the child of the strongest magics rather than anything to do with love. But even that could not have prepared him for glowsticks, of which he is collecting every color and twisting around as bracelets and necklaces galore. When the lights go out, this god is clearly visible (left) and looks a little too happy about it. ]
D. Wildcard
[ Want to do something else? Go for it. Horus will be around, having a good time. ]
B
If you're given honey cake and incense oil during the winter solstice, what's the benefit?
[He's honestly being a bit of a jerk - of course the god has no power here on Avalon -, but this birdboy totally misled him about his identity back during the summer solstice! He doubts that Horus remembers him, and his horned mask doesn't help, but he doesn't really mind.]

Rinea | FE SOV
1. dance floor
[Where there is a formal ball there is of course Rinea, dancing her little heart out in a flowing dress cut specifically to encourage the movement.Does she ever take a break?!?!?!?! It's REALLY looking like she doesn't. No matter how many times her dance partners break away for refreshments, she seeks a new one and is soon spinning around the ballroom again, flushed with the joy and the exertion of her most-cherished pastime. In fact-- oh boy, here she comes.]
Hello! [You. Yes, YOU, who happened to make eye contact with her while standing there full- or empty-handed.] Are you looking for a dance partner?
[Or maybe you were just coming to say "hi," or "slow the FUCK down" maybe?????]
2. kiss and/or tell
[By some manner of witchcraft Rinea has finally, temporarily, retired from all her foxtrots and waltzes and the Charlestons (she practiced that one after the last spring ball) and is standing at the edge of the bar with a flute of some bubbly alcohol and a plate of goodies, feeling pleasantly tipsy and enjoying the atmosphere. It's so lively! Dear me, but some of the people here are such severe drinkers, aren't they?... It's so nice to attend a formal ball that doesn't have a primary political function she has to watch her fiancé part from her for...Amongst all these floating thoughts, eventually, she notices.]
Is this... decoration? [Rinea approaches the Forbidden Plant where it hangs above the bar, peering up at it with curiosity. She is... actually pretty sure it shows up in her alchemy textbooks, so:] Or perhaps a ward of some sort?
[It certainly acts as a ward in some ways, girl, with the way other partygoers are dodging it!]
3. wildcard
[Rinea do be all over the place. Hit me!]1
Considering how the woman looked like she was having a good time, Saber decided to not mention anything despite noticing just how much she'd been dancing. Still, maybe she should have expected it to happen eventually, but she widened her eyes a bit in surprise when Rinea comes to ask her to dance. ]
Ah, well, not exactly... but do you wish to dance?

Jyushi Aimono | Hypnosis Mic
[Jyushi has never really quite gone to a party like this before. Often he's a little too shy to do so but with such a hefty job on his shoulders of helping his world then he needs to step out of his comfort zone, right? Right! So dressed in his black regency shirt with black trousers to match, his make-up is dramatic and perfect for his mask, which is usually meant for a woman but Jyushi doesn't care too much about things like that. With his heeled boots, he's standing tall and trying not to get in anybody's way.
So he goes to read over the guestbook to see how other people celebrate. If your character comes up, Jyushi goes into his visual kei mode and bowing:]
Pardon. I was only distracted by the tome of other worlds, of other customs, of festivities!
[Sorry but unless you're someone he knows then he might be talking like this for a bit.]
b. mistletoe
[Jyushi isn't unaware of what happens with mistletoe but he's also not really paying attention to it either. When he's underneath it under the threshold, he is just so distracted by trying not to be self-conscious he's entirely missed the fact that he's under one at all.
And is a bit distracted by the music going on stage. Part of him wants to go up there but he's happy to support from afar! So he smiles, lost in the music, and unaware of much else. When someone is under there with him, he looks over.]
A-ah, am I in the way?
c. winner winner
[Jyushi is a good boy and so the money he did have he put towards the charity raffle. Not that he did it to win anything but he'd mostly done it just so he could support a good cause!
And yet he did win. Being able to learn how to make a paper bat which may seem like a useless thing but with the way that Jyushi's eyes light up? Practically sparkling? He's very happy!]
Oh, isn't that really impressive?
[ooc: if there's anything you want to do just go ahead and message me if it isn't listed here but i'm down for anything!]
b for cheek kissesssss 😤
and, when that isn't the case... well. it's Jyushi-kun! she smiles beneath her butterfly mask and gently presses a hand on his forearm before stretching onto her tiptoes to press a kiss to his cheek. )
Nope! Do you want to get a snack, Jyushi-kun?

Beowulf | fgo
[Beowulf, for once, was actually dressed up pretty nicely. Somehow, someway, he managed to find dress clothes that fit him and wouldn't rip with each and every single movement. Feel free to be amazed by this absolute miracle you are witnessing.
Also, he was being one of the other wallflowers right now. Hugging the back, arms crossed and content with just watching others dance around. It was easy to, considering that he was pretty much completely towering over everyone. It was also going to be pretty easy to spot the big guy from above the rest of the heads.
He had a few reasons for not going out to the dancefloor, of course. Chief among though... his size.]
II -- The Bar
[Of course, when drinks are involved he was there. Chugging away at what was available. To him they weren't all that strong, or maybe not strong enough. He'd already killed three glasses of beer and was currently ordering a fourth. With the barkeep looking like they were thinking about cutting the big guy off.]
Not a bad choice of drinks. Would say they should have added something with a bit more kick to the menu.
III -- Mistletoe (Pucker Up Lover)
[He hung off to the side of a doorway. Letting others go through first, things were winding down for him. At least everyone in attendance had fun, so he had fun. When he was sure no one else was going through the doorway he stepped in the way.
Head ducking down and another body running into his.
Beowulf didn't budge. The other person though... well they probably felt like the ran into a wall made of iron or granite.]
Ah-- sorry about that.
[WILDCARD]
[You know the rules, and so do I~! Don't see anything you like/want something more specific? Feel free to come up with something, or PM me, or hit me up here.]
Camus | Uta No Prince Sama
[Camus arrived to the party dressed in a neat suit, pausing to read the rules posted before picking up a mask in the shape of a fox face. He sets it on his face before walking in, looking around to take in the decorations and the other people who decided to come in. He notices the dance floor and smiles a small smile. Maybe he'll be nice and dance with some people that night.
He turns to someone nearby.]
So, what do you think of this party?
With So Much to Do
[Camus will be found around the party, dancing with people who ask, checking out the food, and maybe even being caught under some mistletoe. He'll even go into the private rooms and play some games with people who want him to. It's the season to be nice, isn't it?
So come, say hello, see him actually enjoying the season, as winter is his time.]
Rumors (Locked to Ren)
[A lot had happened since he'd been out and about with Ren. Confessions and discussions and a few revelations. And some rumors that they tried to squash before were now true.
There were some people that might be happy about that.He looks Ren for a moment before smirking.]
So, should we start some rumors again?
Jane Porter | Disney's Tarzan | OTA
ii. dance the night away
iii. mistletoe
iv. late at night
v. wildcard
ii.
He's not much of a dancer. Not...at all of a dancer, really. He watches for awhile figuring out the way that this seems to work while here, and he sees Jane after a few moments. He knows he should ask her, but he'll find a good song - the right song. Something of a song with a slightly slower beat. So when something starts to play he'll approach her. He places a hand on her shoulder. ]
Do you want to dance?
[ He never would have asked, had it been anyone else. Every ounce of confidence would have left his body at the thought. But with her, he feels comfortable. It's easier. And he thinks that it's a great thing. ]

Toshirou Hijikata | Gintama
[Hijikata is on patrol, floating above the snow with his newly enchanted shoes, but when he passes by the party location, sees the lights and hears the voices and the music, he suddenly remembers the announcements he saw... it's tonight, isn't it? He can't help but want to slip in and warm himself up for a little while - however the posted rules make him pause. No weapons on the premises... where is he supposed to put his sword? Anyone entering or leaving the building may overhear him negotiating with the people staffing the coat check.]
Yes, I'm a knight - see, here's my sigil. Can't I leave it here like this? It's secured and everything. I won't stay long either.
[The staff isn't fully convinced yet. If only someone were here who could vouch for him!]
B ⦿ Charity Raffle
[After getting the sword situation sorted out one way or another he picks up a black mask with sizeable horns, feeling a little nostalgic for the spring equinox ball. It were simpler times back then! The mask will do little to conceal his identity, given that he's in his usual uniform and the identically patterned coat on top on it, but that's not really his concern here.
He first wanders around a little, taking in the atmosphere, then eats and drinks enough to feel warm and re-energised. He isn't much of a dancer and strategically avoids the mistletoes (truly the life of the party), however he does participate in the raffle. Charity is much needed now, and he has the gold to spare, so why not? He buys a bunch of tickets, and not too longer afterwards when a new winning number is called he makes a surprised little sound.]
I guess it's my lucky night.
[What did he win, though? (OOC: If your character contributed a prize and wants Hijikata to win it I'll be delighted, otherwise I'll just make something up!)]
Charity Raffle
Oh, Souma remembers this fellow from the cooking contest! He wonders if Hijikata can cook anything he likes with eggs.]

Souma | original | OTA
[Souma is trying to carry himself elegantly, in the outfit he got for himself from a merchant's shop, but he still feels like he must have farm dirt under his nails and in the cracks of his hands even though he checked three times already. It is the first time he's worn anything this formal in... oh, he doesn't want to think of how long. He's stuck exclusively to his farm clothing and simple peasant kimono so far here.
He walks by in the heeled black boots he is wearing, and someone puts a flute of champagne in his hand. Souma looks at it with wide eyes, like he thinks his hand will fall off.]
Ah-- p-pardon me, good sir, but--
[Then he pauses, rethinking this. Wait. He's not in Lyon. This wasn't a mistake. The drink server is giving him a friendly smile. Souma swallows, then... dares to take a sip. When he is finished, he breathes out and looks at his glass of wine in amazement, whispering to himself and the nearest person within earshot.]
Oh... so... that is what it tastes like…
II. Traditions
[Souma is at the guest book where people have written down their traditions and thoughts on the holiday. He is diligently writing, a pair of gold-rimmed round reading glasses on, as he carefully holds the book page so that he won’t smear the ink from the pen by moving it with his other hand on accident. He pauses and checks his work, satisfied. Noticing someone else there, he turns slowly.]
Ah. Excuse me. I… kept you waiting.
[He dips his head in apology, one hand to his chest. Then he looks up, with an interested expression towards the newcomer.]
Do… you also have a tradition? Won’t you please tell me about it.
III. Hit the Dance Floor
[Souma is in the shadows, hiding behind a tall red window curtain at the edge of the dance floor, peeking out to watch the people as they move in time to the music. He has never really… tried this. He is attempting to learn it the way he might learn a new sword technique– watching and memorization. He sways slightly, trying to get an idea of how it goes, and his head seems to trace the way the couples turn in a spiral. One foot shifts slightly with his thoughts, and he gingerly places it on the ball of the foot, changing to heel as he sees one of the dancers do so. He slides it back, then attempts to figure out what one is supposed to do with the arms. Is it… right arm is up and left is down? No, it’s not– he grunts and switches his hands, tilting his head as he tries to figure out which hand is which on someone facing away from him. Souma turns slightly, and his feet move in the beginning of a box step.
From outside, it sure as heck looks like something very odd and probably inappropriate is happening behind this drape.]
IV. Game Time
[Somehow, Souma wanders until he ends up in the quiet room with the board games and other activities. Curiously, he draws nearer, craning his neck to catch a glimpse of what the other guests are doing. Presently, he stage-whispers to the nearest person.]
Are you winning?
V. Charity Raffle
[Souma had contributed several charity prizes from his new farm. It seemed like a great way to advertise, and it was for a good cause too!. When the winning numbers are called, he is waiting with a small wooden gift box, with a pale blue bow around it. The side of the box says “Moon’s Refuge Farm.” Whatever is in there, it sure smells good. He hands the box to the winner after confirming that it’s the correct ticket number.]
Congratulations. Did you buy many tickets, or… just this one?
V. Presentation is Everything
[Souma has been trying very hard to frame himself elegantly by the roaring fireplace near the dance floor, waiting for a certain special someone, the boyfriend he has barely seen lately, to come in and notice him standing there in his elegant formalwear and be impressed. The holiday gift that he prepared for Jongdae is in his inner pocket and he holds a white rose in one hand. He tries standing on one leg, then the other, then turns with his hand propped against the mantlepiece. Should he have his back to the viewer, he wonders, or, should he be facing them? He twists himself, posing at about a three quarter-turn but with his bottom facing away from the fireplace (it was getting too warm). He puts on his glasses, he takes them off. He puts them on again and then pulls them down a bit to look dramatically over them. He takes them off and tries to look intelligent, with the temple tip in his mouth. He tries to imagine saying something very smart. No idea what that would be, just… ugh.
He feels… just ridiculous.
Groaning, he turns again, leaning up against the bricks with his arms folded in a huff of exasperation. His cheeks puff up with it and he scowls, his brows knitting together in the middle as his lower lip pooches up. He blows his long bangs out of his eyes in irritation and grabs a wine glass from a serving plate as someone walks by. He downs it in one gulp and stifles a burp. Then he places it up on the mantlepiece beside an identical empty goblet, where it hopefully won’t get broken. Souma braces both hands on the mantle now, facing away from the other guests and watching the flames rise.
He misses home so much, right then… misses those he watched the flames with years before at the twelfth month. Thinking of Shinya, and of Shion. His aunt and uncle. Of Yasu. Of… everyone that he has lost… it hurts. Sometimes, he wonders if he is starting to forget them. He must hurry up and finish learning to write, he thinks. Because he needs to write it down before it’s all gone.
He stands there, glowering at the fire, trying to piece together where he would start, what he would want to say.]
Mash Kyrielight | Fate/Grand Order | OTA!
[Mash is taking full advantage of the offerings left for her in the Shit Box. She’s not totally sure where this dress came from but it’s the perfect thing for an elegant party. She even found a mask to match; it didn’t seem necessary but was rather fun and that’s what tonight was all about, right?
If you’re a familiar face, she may give you a little wave and approach if she spots you. If you haven’t met, you’ll get a gentle smile and a nod of greeting.]
Waltz in the Moonlight
[A pretty little wallflower blooms against the party backdrop, lingering on the sidelines not far from the catering. She’s trying not to draw too much attention to herself - really, she seems to be enjoying watching people. A party is meant for dancing, though, isn’t it? Surely a friendly offer would coax her onto the dance floor. Will you try and lure her out of her shell? Or maybe join her in shy solidarity?]
Christmas Spirits (not really)
Oh, um, a Cinderella, please!
[The drink she’d requested had no alcohol in it, but she didn’t know that. She only knew it as the special cocktail that Moriarity had prepared for her - one that had tasted quite good. The bartender had offered to get her a drink so she said the first thing to come to mind without really thinking. She takes the glass and sips at it with an almost mischievous expression. GOOD GIRLS GONE BAD! How scandalous! How forbidden!! But, even though she was sort of (very) nervous about this “underaged drinking”, it was sort of exciting too. It was a rather grown up feeling, having a drink at a classy party.
Are you ordering something as well? Maybe you’ll run into this tipsy (but not really) little lady nearby. Her face is a little flushed as she smiles in your direction - the placebo effect at work.]
Ah, hello. What are you having?

Waltz in the Moonlight
"Man... How the hell do you even approach someone for a dance in a fancy party like this? I feel like a fish out of water..." That's what Kotarou thinks as he's trying to ponder witty one-liners to open up a conversation.]
"This shindig looks like the bomb-diggity! Wanna dance?" [...] I wonder if that comes off as too old-fashioned? I think it sounds cool for a laugh, though... Or maybe "May I have the pleasure of this dance?" But that's a bit too straightforward and boring... Anyone can pull that off.
[He's still mumbling openly to himself... Sometimes whenever Kotarou thought that he was thinking to himself, his mouth ended up opening up and did the thinking for him.]
