[With some of the medical centers around Camelot being overwhelmed with summer fever they are in need of some more hands to help them attend to all the residents and patients in the wards.

While Venti isn’t the hardest worker there is he does have a soft spot for helping others. Even if his sense of helping others means that he’s using his musical talent to sing to the various patients, sick and injured in order to lift their spirits and spread some cheer. Maybe he could be coaxed into some other chores?

Venti can be found attending to a room here and there with an old-looking wooden lyre in hand and singing softly to the summer air. Or enjoying a serenade in one of the main rooms where people walking by can enjoy. Be proud of him since he’s working to help instead of working for a glass of wine to drink. But truly, Venti does have a heart for helping others when he feels he should.

And it is more than a good opportunity to practice some of the newer songs he’s been learning in this world! Like this brilliant tune...]

[The carnival that rolls through town is right up Venti’s alley. With festivities come games and with games comes competition and with competition usually comes a sort of prize. And when Venti eyes the humongous glasses of slushy margarita he seems to sparkle with mischievous delight. Drink a giant slushy of alcohol in order to win a recipe spell that helps you avoid hangovers? ... Sign him up.

But he needs to do this with a partner! Hope someone’s ready to get their drink on because Venti is very suddenly coming up to you with a smile on his lips and a twinkle in his eye. If you look like you can hold your liquor, even better!]

Hello there, friend! Care to try out a rather refreshing little bit of competition? Ehe!

[On this breezy summer day in Camelot Venti can also be found lounging under an old oak tree basking in the warmth of the summer sun and gentle breeze. Yet it might be peculiar to see Venti sitting there with a rather large and dangerous-looking brown and black falcon on his arm. The proud bird is sitting there preening a feather or two while Venti hum gently at it.

Which might be odd to those who know him. For Venti doesn’t have a falcon for a familiar. Who does the bird belong to? Did he steal it?

Nonetheless, the bird seems quite fond of the little bard. When Venti reaches up to pet the creature it coos and nuzzles his hand. It might not give the same treatment to others...]

[D: exploring celliwig]

[The best part of exploring a new city is certainly the draws to the unique shopping that it has. Celliwig has proved to be a bright delight when it comes to new and unique forms of foods, music, and charms to buy. Magic, clothing and trinkets, and all the rest. Venti has found himself wandering about the shops and stands with a curious little glint in his eye.

He comes across a few things that take his interest. Especially a stand that is selling what appears to be different summertime potions. He wants one, as the shop owner notes that they can give some amusing special effects. Fae magic? Or curses?

Without much money in his pocket, though... He might have to resist the urge to do a little sleight of hand. Or charming someone into buying a few things for him.]

[Wow, Xiao agreed to proceed! This is monumental. And Venti might have a bright sparkle of mischievousness in his eye for it!]

Then you should put this around your neck first, Xiao!

[ Look. He is lowering his head and offering for Venti to put it on him. ]

Because that's how this one charm simply works.

[But what does Venti really know-

He's smiling as he's reaching up to put the charm around Xiao's neck gently. So the pendant rests on his chest.]

[ His fingers brush over the charm. He would lift it to look at it, but... ]

All right. How do we proceed?

[ What's going to happen? ]

[And just like that Venti draws his hands away and tilts his head. Looking at the charm sitting around Xiao's neck with a simple smile.]

Hmm.

[Then he taps his chin.]

I'm not too sure how to go from here, if I'm honest. Ehehe.

[... Because maybe it doesn't actually do anything.]

[ His eyes take in Venti and that way he moves his head. All of the sudden Xiao feels as though he is being played. Golden orbs look towards the merchant who seems to be hiding a smile or something behind their hand. ]

Then why not ask?

[Is this like he didn't ask for any pickles on his burger?

Venti frowns, peering at the little charm around Xiao's neck and wondering if he's done something wrong.]

Hm, I was told that you should put this charm around the neck of someone important to you...

[Is the charm not working? There are no extra effects! Was he swindled out of his money?!]

Maybe we do ask.

[ It's not like that. Not quite yet. It could definitely go in that direction if they - because it's no longer just Venti at this point - have been scammed. ]

What is supposed to happen...

[ He's not questioning the whole "someone important part." That is... Something that's been stated. Established. ]

It's the only thing that can be done.

Well... Hmmm.

[Venti doesn't quite say because it was supposed to be a surprise. But now he's wondering if he's done the charm wrong. So he tilts his head.]

Come with me.

[So back towards the market stalls again. He searches for the merchant and then places his hands on his hips as he questions.]

Excuse me, if you may. I purchased a charm from your stall but I find that the added effect isn't working. Could you explain?

[The merchant looks questionably at Venti and then Xiao.]

"And you placed the charm on this one here?"

[whirlwindthrust]

[ With a slight sigh, Xiao follows alongside the bard. He doesn't know why Venti doesn't just explain what it is that the charm is supposed to do. The thought that Venti wants to surprise him ( more than likely trick and tease him ) doesn't even cross his mind.

He stands there behind Venti, looking rather crossly at the merchant. Oh Xiao will allow things to play out...

But he better not have fooled the Archon into making a faulty purchase. ]

So he had, yes...

[Oh, Xiao is looking a little peeved behind Venti. Venti can practically feel the aura coming off of him. How protective.]

I did, and yet...?

[The merchant seems to look amused.]

"Well now, isn't it clear? You gave this one the key to your heart. What other effect would it have but to be cherished?"

[Venti blinks. And then immediately starts giggling. It really probably is just some silly trinket.]

[ The key to his heart... ]

It is... Not enchanted then?

[ So Venti had been taken in? Or perhaps he had misunderstood the intent? Now Xiao finds that he really can't be upset because of the words that the merchant says.

Key to one's heart. Of course Xiao would cherish it!

...As long as that had truly been Venti's intention? ]

[Venti's giggles continue as he turns to Xiao and gives a tilt of his head. Reaching to pat Xiao's chest where the charm is.]

I was thoroughly tricked.

[But is it really that bad?]

Do you want to keep it, Xiao?

[whirlwindthrust]

[ Was he really though? Xiao isn't sure that Venti really had been tricked at all. ]

Were you?

[ Oh he's. Just going to call him out like that. ]

It's fine, I suppose. Though it seems as though it is a standard gift.

[Venti looks innocent.]

Ehe, if it's to your liking you're more than happy to keep the key to my heart, then.

[ Wow this is a trick. "If it's to your liking." As if he can say that it isn't! Now he can't rightfully toss it either because if the Archon sees him without it...

Isn't that essentially saying "hey I threw away the key to your heart." ]

I will concede this time. It is your victory.

[He might be glowing with some delight, yes. His victory. But he's very happy to see that charm around Xiao's neck. He reaches out to pat it.]

It looks nice on you, Xiao! Then again, accessories always have. What is another fae charm to add to it?

[It's his heart charm! He tricked Xiao into wearing it with all his affection!!]

[ With that pat comes a long suffering sigh. The shopkeeper himself looks rather amused watching this all play out. Of course the man has no idea that this is nearly two thousand years in the making, does he? All he can really think is "young love" at watching these two ancient beings flirt. ]

Is this another attempt to take my sash for yourself? I have told you before that I will not part with it.

[Venti giggles knowingly and then turns away, looking coy.]

Not at all, Xiao. I wouldn't think to take something you find so dear.

[ Hmmm. Yeah that look is not really inspiring confidence here. ]

Then shall I find something that you can take?

[Now that makes him perk up like a curious little bird. A shiny gift from Xiao? Yes please.]

Are you thinking of giving me a token in return? Yes, I'd adore that, Xiao!

I am considering that I may need to search for one, yes.

[ Why does Venti look so surprised? ]

[He looks surprised because he wasn't expecting such a thing! Although, in goes his arm to link up with Xiao.]

Would you like to look around the Celliwig market? Or did you have something else in mind?

[ A gift given must be returned! This is only proper manners. Xiao is not going to allow for Venti to go without. ]

I do not own material possessions. Thus I need to walk around and look, do I not?

[Venti teases lightly with a nudge as he stays linked with Xiao. Well, goodbye to this stand. Now they can walk around the fairy market to see what catches their eye!]
