[A: quest: summer fever!]

[With some of the medical centers around Camelot being overwhelmed with summer fever they are in need of some more hands to help them attend to all the residents and patients in the wards.

While Venti isn’t the hardest worker there is he does have a soft spot for helping others. Even if his sense of helping others means that he’s using his musical talent to sing to the various patients, sick and injured in order to lift their spirits and spread some cheer. Maybe he could be coaxed into some other chores?

Venti can be found attending to a room here and there with an old-looking wooden lyre in hand and singing softly to the summer air. Or enjoying a serenade in one of the main rooms where people walking by can enjoy. Be proud of him since he’s working to help instead of working for a glass of wine to drink. But truly, Venti does have a heart for helping others when he feels he should.

And it is more than a good opportunity to practice some of the newer songs he’s been learning in this world! Like this brilliant tune...]

[The carnival that rolls through town is right up Venti’s alley. With festivities come games and with games comes competition and with competition usually comes a sort of prize. And when Venti eyes the humongous glasses of slushy margarita he seems to sparkle with mischievous delight. Drink a giant slushy of alcohol in order to win a recipe spell that helps you avoid hangovers? ... Sign him up.

But he needs to do this with a partner! Hope someone’s ready to get their drink on because Venti is very suddenly coming up to you with a smile on his lips and a twinkle in his eye. If you look like you can hold your liquor, even better!]

Hello there, friend! Care to try out a rather refreshing little bit of competition? Ehe!

[On this breezy summer day in Camelot Venti can also be found lounging under an old oak tree basking in the warmth of the summer sun and gentle breeze. Yet it might be peculiar to see Venti sitting there with a rather large and dangerous-looking brown and black falcon on his arm. The proud bird is sitting there preening a feather or two while Venti hum gently at it.

Which might be odd to those who know him. For Venti doesn’t have a falcon for a familiar. Who does the bird belong to? Did he steal it?

Nonetheless, the bird seems quite fond of the little bard. When Venti reaches up to pet the creature it coos and nuzzles his hand. It might not give the same treatment to others...]

[D: exploring celliwig]

[The best part of exploring a new city is certainly the draws to the unique shopping that it has. Celliwig has proved to be a bright delight when it comes to new and unique forms of foods, music, and charms to buy. Magic, clothing and trinkets, and all the rest. Venti has found himself wandering about the shops and stands with a curious little glint in his eye.

He comes across a few things that take his interest. Especially a stand that is selling what appears to be different summertime potions. He wants one, as the shop owner notes that they can give some amusing special effects. Fae magic? Or curses?

Without much money in his pocket, though... He might have to resist the urge to do a little sleight of hand. Or charming someone into buying a few things for him.]

Yahoo! Would you like to try something special and new? I heard wonderful things about these.

[ Wow this is a trick. "If it's to your liking." As if he can say that it isn't! Now he can't rightfully toss it either because if the Archon sees him without it...

Isn't that essentially saying "hey I threw away the key to your heart." ]

[He might be glowing with some delight, yes. His victory. But he's very happy to see that charm around Xiao's neck. He reaches out to pat it.]

[ With that pat comes a long suffering sigh. The shopkeeper himself looks rather amused watching this all play out. Of course the man has no idea that this is nearly two thousand years in the making, does he? All he can really think is "young love" at watching these two ancient beings flirt. ]

Is this another attempt to take my sash for yourself? I have told you before that I will not part with it.

[Venti giggles knowingly and then turns away, looking coy.]

Not at all, Xiao. I wouldn't think to take something you find so dear.

[ Hmmm. Yeah that look is not really inspiring confidence here. ]

[Now that makes him perk up like a curious little bird. A shiny gift from Xiao? Yes please.]

[ Why does Venti look so surprised? ]

[He looks surprised because he wasn't expecting such a thing! Although, in goes his arm to link up with Xiao.]

Would you like to look around the Celliwig market? Or did you have something else in mind?

[ A gift given must be returned! This is only proper manners. Xiao is not going to allow for Venti to go without. ]

I do not own material possessions. Thus I need to walk around and look, do I not?

[Venti teases lightly with a nudge as he stays linked with Xiao. Well, goodbye to this stand. Now they can walk around the fairy market to see what catches their eye!]

Let's see what sort of pretty things we can find, hm?

I own an orchid. Now this charm as well.

[ But that's really about it aside from some clothing that Venti has pushed onto Xiao here and there.

He doesn't try to shove the Archon away though. Venti can stay latched on as he pleases. ]

[Is this something he didn't know about the yaksha? How interesting!]

Ehe, as for the gift I could use anything that might catch your eye. What sort of charms would I need...

[ He's only following the advice that has been given to him, Venti. Nothing more and nothing less! ]

You and Rex Lapis both would be concerned about my lack of exploration of my being.

[ Xiao had been making an attempt before, to discover things. Now that his lord and Archon has also expressed some of his own personal thoughts and desires for the Yaksha... Of course he feels as though he must give it a good effort.

As they walk and explore, there is a shop that catches his eye. Xiao meanders towards one of these stalls... ]

Was that me?

[Venti tilts his head innocently.]

I'm a bit surprised Morax mentioned the same thing. I could barely get him to try a new drink without that annoying side-eye of his.

[Huff. But he's leisurely walking at Xiao's side!]

He had not said so in that many words. Instead he had offered a story that he expected I would be able to fully interpret or understand.

[ Which that isn't the sort of thing that works for Xiao. He thinks he kind of gets the point though - that Xiao should also be free to move on from duty alone.

The stall that they have come to is filled with items that, when the breeze catches them just right, move in a way that make sounds. Like the sound of bells. It definitely attracts Xiao's attention. ]

[Venti giggles at that response.]

There can be so many meanings in a story, after all, Xiao! Don't take it lightly! I think in the end, we both want you to do what you wish.

[And everyone knows that Venti and Zhongli don't tend to see eye-to-eye so Xiao should be happy that Venti is agreeing here. Right now.

The little tinkle of sound makes Venti look up, curiously looking like a little bird.]

[ Which that is sufficient, knowing that they both want him to do what he desires. That both Archons seem to genuinely care about Xiao. While he thinks that it might be misplaced, the Yaksha sees it for the blessing that it is. ]

They are specialized wind chimes. The wind catches the ribbon and creates a sound within the glass.

How cute and pleasant! It's been a while since I've seen such vibrant ones.

[Venti is clearly intrigued. Anything musically related or wind related, of course. He steps forward, reaching a finger to gentle touch one of the ribbons.]

[ Xiao will have grown silent for the next couple of minutes. He is observing Venti's reaction. Golden eyes take in the different kinds of chimes that are present.

They are both of Anemo. They both drift along in the breeze - wander. Venti may not have apparent purpose, but Xiao does. However that does not mean that they do not still roam.

He thinks that this... This would be a suitable token. ]

[Meanwhile, Venti is a curious little breeze, lifting up onto his toes to poke and play at some of the other charms and wind chimes on display. He's just too airy to pick one he likes best. Poking at one and then another, enjoying each little twinkling noise each one makes.

When he notices that Xiao has gone quiet he looks over his shoulder at him.]

What are you thinking about, Xiao?

[If Xiao picks to give Venti one of these he might want to pick one out for him or Venti might just... pick all of them. And they probably don't have that much money.]

I am of the mindset that, perhaps, this should be the token...

[ He points one of the chimes out. Hanging there is a pretty looking thing White flowers adorn the surface. The ribbon is purple. Something akin to the colors that Xiao often wears. ]

[ They both favor a white flower from their region. ]

[Venti looks up at the charm and feels instant delight. He starts giggling and nods with quiet the happy smile.]

It's beautiful! A perfect mix of you and I, if I'd say so. A wind's gift, a flower's charm.

[And he does note the little ribbon too.]

I adore it!

[ Venti's delight actually makes him... Feel warm inside. If the Archon looks, he might catch the slightest smile. At least there is a softening his gaze. That will be visible.

He's pleased. ]

[ Xiao nods towards the shopkeeper. ]

[That tiny expression makes him feel warm too. Venti actually isn't that used to being gifted like this. Getting gifts on the regular for the Windblume Festival is one thing. So are gifts from the church. But something about this is just a little bit different. Softer. The emotions tied to it a little more personal.

Although he can't help latching himself to Xiao's arm again. Bringing himself close to press a kiss (quite publically) to Xiao's cheek.]

Ehe! Thank you, Xiao!!

[ His cheeks burn at the affection. Though this time Xiao does not shy away from it. Apparently this cornered, skittering cat very much can learn. Can grow when forced to. ]
