Beach Party:

[Colette is just relieved things worked out in everyone figuring various items from the shipwreck below and is happy to celebrate and relax with everyone. Which of course includes her getting in there in enjoying some snacks and games. Though she is rather clumsy so maybe. Not in obtaining a bat for the watermelon but offering it to someone else. And probably tripping into someone else if she tries to play with the beach balls. Or possibly still figuring that concept of aiming in not being used to guns at all if someone gives her a water gun to try. She may soak someone else other than her intended target?]

Kidnapped:

[Just because Colette can fight? Doesn't mean she necessarily wants to. Not if she can help it. So she certainly wouldn't be the one throwing the first punch or kick, as it were. If necessary, if this is what it takes to get them out, she'd let her opponent win. But she isn't sure if that would get them back home. Isn't sure what to do. There's so many others, after all. She can't just leave them here.]

What should we do? I don't want to fight. I don't want to leave everyone here like this. There has to be some way to get out of this.

[Look if you spend enough time with Lloyd, being stubbornly optimistic pays off somehow? Right?]

Birthday:

[She's turning seventeen at the end of the month. And.....hasn't had a party before. Short of that one time she turned twelve and Lloyd made her that pendant, Genis making her that cake they shared together with the three of them. So this concept is new to her at least in the sense of it being a celebration on her birthday that isn't the church. That's about her as Colette and not celebrating being another year closer to her Journey as the Chosen. She'd mentioned it, but still wasn't necessarily sure on what to expect for it, what she wanted since she hasn't done this before.

But even so. Since she was here and made friends and all. It might at least distract her from Lloyd being absent in particular. But she will certainly enjoy some cake and thank anyone that joins her for celebrating, with Emerald in tow and licking most anyone present as her gratitude in everyone caring for Colette as they enjoy a day at the park outside.]

[But of course Ochako was going to come to Colette's birthday party!! Once she got the news of the girl's special day, and was sure she'd been invited, Ochako was already out and about looking for something cute to gift her with. She'll arrive a bit late, only because she wanted to make sure the items were fresh and laundered before handing them over, but wave happily to the girl when she arrives, a gift bag dangling from the crook of her arm.]

Colette-chaaan!! Happy birthday! [Inside the bag, buried under all the tissue paper, is a cute, summery outfit Ochako thought the girl would like. She rubs the back of her head a bit sheepishly, looking a bit embarrassed.] I hope you like it!! I-I um...I didn't know your size, so I went with a size up from what I usually wear, so...I-I hope it fits!! Let me know if it doesn't, and I can replace it with one that does!

Ah, Ochako, you made it!

[Colette's. Still not really used to this. All the fuss. All the attention for her. For her as Colette. Not just as the Chosen. But it's.....nice? At least, in having a gathering with friends and all. She waves, thanking the other for coming and blinking when she takes the offered bag, looking inside to find the dress.]

It's so pretty! Thank you! I'll try it on later and let you know if it fits.

[Ochako's not exactly privy to what Colette is thinking or feeling, just expecting this yet another birthday the girl had and is celebrating with friends. Maybe a bit overwhelmed because of the turnout, but it makes sense to Ochako - Colette is kind, and sweet, and a nice person. Of course people here would want to celebrate with her and gift her things, and be together. That's what having a party is all about, after all - being together with people who car about each other, having fun and enjoying spending time together.

She beams, clapping her hand together with a little giggle.]

I'm so glad you like it!! I really hope it all fits, I saw the outfit and thought it'd look really cute on you! I would have made something to eat, but I didn't know what you liked, I'm sorry... Maybe next time, right? Ehehe.

I think it should. I'll let you know if it doesn't though. But ah, that's alright! I just hope you like what we have here so far.

[Next time. She wonders then. Exactly how long she might be here. How long they all might be here. Would she turn eighteen here? She's still unsure on this in how if this is similar timing to back home, if this really counts or not exactly. But a year is still a year. Even if it feels shorter on her end because of timing with her ending up here not that long after her birthday back home with her Journey and all.]

I hope it all turns out okay. I wasn't expecting it and this is my first birthday party aside from that one time when I was twelve with Lloyd and Genis back home.

[A careless statement - next time. Ochako doesn't want to spend that much time here really, and the time that's been ticking on and on, time away from her family, time away from her friends left behind, time that is halted for everyone back home but still present for her... It's terrifying. What if, time ages her? What if, when they're all ready to go home again, she's the same age as her teachers? Her parents? What if they don't even...recognize her?

Careless. Lost in the swell of this happy moment, so...perhaps it should be. The time now is a happy moment, a joyous one, so best not to fear time for the here and now.]

Eeh? Your first? Colette-chan, did you not celebrate your birthdays back home?

[She knows there are, like...certain beliefs and customs of other places and religions that just don't do that, and Ochako wants to be respectful but. Man. That is kind of really, really depressing, isn't it?]

Ah, well...as the Chosen, my birthday was more celebrating we were a year closer to me going on my Journey. So that's why. Why I haven't really had one like this before.

[So. Not so much about Colette herself. More the fact they were that much closer to waiting for her to leave and hopefully succeed in her Journey to restore the crops and Mana supply, in dealing with the Desians. It was not really about celebrating Colette herself as a person the way this was.

She tries not to think on the possibility of being here long enough to turn eighteen. Instead focusing on the question and even that is....perhaps a little awkward to explain in answer. Her gaze lowers briefly, a slight shake of her head in an almost resigned smile before she raises her head again properly, all but beaming.]

But that's why all this is so amazing!

[Chosen? Journey? Had Colette explained this to Ochako before? M-Maybe, a little bit, but the poor girl can't quite remember all of it. Even so, it clearly seems like Colette's birthday really wasn't so much a celebration of her life and more her...title. Her status. She can see the lowering of her friend's gaze, the brief hint of hurt in her voice, and Ochako knows that her birthdays before weren't at all special.

She takes a deep breath, wondering just how much about her friend she really knows, but...now's not the time. Not the time to bring up something that may ruin Colette's special day. Because by god, now Ochako is more determined than ever to make it one that Colette can remember always.]

Well!! Then let's make sure you have an amazing time, Colette-chan!! We can play games, dance, have fun...anything you want!!! I'm sure I can find a cool playlist on my phone to play some music, too! [Did someone order a very mediocre DJ? No?? Well, you got one anyway! Ochako fingerguns, doing her very best Present Mic impression, trying to mimic his voice and, uh...not doing too great.] PUT YO' HANDS UP~!

[There are still some things she is getting used to with the more modern technology. So Colette doesn't necessarily get it. Something to do with music though? From what Ochako says? She's oblivious to Ochako's internal wonderings on Colette's upbringing and all prior to her ending up here, as she simply does as Ochako says with that Present Mic impression, raising her arms in the air.]

[Oh, right...some people aren't from as technologically advanced places as she is. Ochako, uhh...kind of keeps forgetting that sort of thing - that some worlds out there just aren't as modernized as hers is. She turns a bit pink around the cheeks (moreso than usual), and rubs the back of her head, giggling at Colette's just...sheer confusion but willingness to do as she's told. Ah...this is almost like the UA Entrance Exam, when poor Present Mic just got totally shunted by the audience.

She feels that deep ravine in her "MC soul" expanding...]

Ah, eh...ehehe. I-It's a list of songs that are made by a program, l-listing them by their genre, the artist of the song, alphabetically...stuff like that! It's easier to play songs that way instead of going through and trying to find them all individually.

Oh? I guess we didn't have that sort of thing back home. It sounds useful though!

[She does agree, in trying to reassure and encourage the other? Colette's just still learning even after months of being here on this technology. It's a work in progress. Or something like that. She's trying to understand and learn, to join in and do her part where she can.]

Yeah, I'm still kind of getting used to people not being as, um...ehh...modernized as what I'm used to. S-Sorry, Colette-chan. But it really is useful! Let's see...

[She's going to peruse her phone's music app and look up some party songs, then pokes at one of the lists. Oh, this looks promising, it's a decently sized one indeed.]

How about something like this? [And with a tap of her finger, a song starts to play loudly from her phone's speakers.]

It's okay. I'm sure I'll figure it all eventually. The phone and everything. But ah! It's a song about a party! This is a party! I haven't heard this one before.

[Colette seems enthusiastic if new to this music at least. She listens, giggling and clapping her hands together. It was new and different to the music she is probably more used to back home but that isn't necessarily a bad thing? It seems relevant in being about a party at least.]

[Ochako laughs at the song as well, starting to sort of sway and bop her head to the beat before placing her phone down so it can just sit and play the music while she has her hands free.]

Mm!! That's why I thought it'd be a good one! Ehehe, it's such a fun beat, too! Colette-chan, can you dance? [Probably not like Ochako can. She was taught a few hip-hop and freestyle moves by Mina, whose hobby is dancing, and Ochako kept up with it. It really works out her body, and gives her some flexibility, too! Ochako is definitely a bit stiff when it comes to fighting, so this sort of helps. Light on her feet! Just like floating!!]

Kidnapped

[... Y'know, he's almost not surprised that she was kidnapped, but she's also the last person on the list to kidnap ever??? Hnnn, but he wasn't going to say that... ooor throw the first punch or kick or anything. His actual immediate response to being in the ring with her was to flip off the audience.]

E-eh? Zidane?

[It isn't like she doesn't get kidnapped back home. But still. Colette hadn't figured there's anything special about her here to warrant it, that anyone here would care about her being the Chosen. So it's not exactly something she was expecting. Let alone that her friends would get caught up in this too. She's even more hesitant in fighting in seeing him with her here.]

Is....are you okay?

[Clearly not. Neither of them are, but. Well. She isn't anticipating him reacting like this?]

Me? I'm fine. What about you?

[Not the total truth, but not an outright lie. He's pretty quick to adapt and survive hostile events like this one, but her...? It didn't sound like her world might do the whole 'illegal fighting ring' thing when it already had a human farm problem.]

Have you been in any fights before me?

Me? Ah, I'm okay.

[Physically, at least. Even if she is more vulnerable without her Cruxis Crystal working. Lessened senses and strength as a result and all. But that's been the default in her state since arriving here at Camelot and all. So it's fine and the usual on her end. She shakes her head in answer to his question on other fights.]

No? I haven't yet. But I don't want to fight....

[tantailizing]

Good. Good…

[But how long was that gonna last? The audience doesn’t sound happy with them just talking, but no one said ‘go’ yet either. Not that ‘go’ would make him do anything. He’s not about to fight unless they throw a monster in.]

I don’t wanna either. And they’ll have to get used to that.

Have to get used to us not fighting? That's what they want though, right? Won't they get mad?

[What were they supposed to do? She isn't sure. But she doesn't want to fight him. The only time she might have is with sparring, practice but even then it wasn't serious when she did with friends back home to keep from getting too rusty on their journey. As Kratos had been teaching Lloyd in downtime and such as well. She bites her lower lip, glancing to the crowd who seem to be starting to get restless in waiting.]

Oh yeah, they'll get mad, but we shouldn't care about that. If they want a fight, they can come down and fight me themselves.

[Seriously, he's not about to fight a friend who was brought here like him for their entertainment. Especially this one guy who seems to be getting pretty mad, Zidane points at him, points back at himself, and then beats his chest with a fist. Fight him coward... he dares him!]

We shouldn't? But -- eh? You....?

[Colette doesn't want to get him in trouble either. This was rather an odd situation, a new one in comparison to the situations she had been in back home and all. She watches, unsure what to do, how to help when Zidane seems to be encouraging one of the spectators to fight him? She flails her hands a little, glancing between them nervously.]

Look, if they wanna fight, they'll have to do it themselves... or throw someone or something else in here cuz I don't think my usual routines might entertain them enough.

[The audience member doesn't seem to be taking the goading... at first. It's not until Zidane smirks and mouths 'coward' at them and the usual jeers that just absolutely get under guys' skins who often preen themselves as masculine men.]

Eh? Your usual routines?

[What did he mean by that? Routines to entertain? Like a performer or something? She isn't sure what to make of that exactly? But she does know she doesn't want to fight. Colette watches and listens nervously as he smirks and calls them a coward, glancing between the audience and Zidane and hoping he doesn't get in trouble or anything.]

Yeah. I do stage performances, but normally with a group. But these guys here? They don't want that.

[He's so close to getting this guy - he's even up on his feet and shaking a fist back. Well bring it on! Buuut it turns out that instead of having the guy fight, they decide to open the ring's door and let a monster out instead.]

Oh? Performances? Why wouldn't they like that? That sounds fun! But I guess it might be a little harder on your own without your friends.

[Colette admits, a slight pout at her lips at reminders they miss so many back home. But she's distracted from dwelling on that for too long when the doors open and some creature is let out with them. She blinks, eyes wide as she reflexively reaches for her chakrams that. Aren't there, because of course those were confiscated from her when she was initially picked up by these people.]
