[The first week of June is a rainy one, leaving most people inside in the muggy heat. Being stuck inside doesn't bother Izuku all that much since it gives him time to sort things out with his alchemy books that have started to accumulate. Plus the early summer rain is kind of nice on the windows outside.

But there is a notice that goes out for a quest to help fight the storms off by summoning those storm spirits and marrying them off to little handmade dolls? It's a little confusing but Izuku is willing to give it a try. He's got the materials needed to make the little Teru Teru Bozu dolls and he peeks his head into Katsuki's room.]

Ne, Kacchan? Are you busy?

[ Katsuki cares for the rain just about as much as he cares for the cold. Both make it hard to use his Quirk. One has the potential to dilute his sweat and the other? Well it makes it hard to sweat at all.

So what's he to do on rainy and stormy days? Clean. Clean, clean, clean some more. Bakugou's spent the morning in the kitchen and living areas, making them spotless. Sweeping. Dusting. Moping. Even fluffing some damn pillows.

That's what he's in his bedroom doing - dusting some of the rafters. ]

What do you think, Deku?

[... Katsuki is such a neat freak. He can't help the sweatdrop. He sighs.]

... Do the rafters need to be dusted?

[Don't get the neat freak started, Izuku.]

[ The blonde pauses and pulls down the handkerchief that is covering half of his face. ]

If I clean them now then there won't be a need to later! Do you seriously have cotton for brains?

[... Sweatdrop.]

If you're that bored, Kacchan, do you want to help me with a quest instead? We don't have to get out in the rain for it. It involves some storm spirits.

[And that's leagues more interesting than cleaning rafters on a rainy day stuck inside...]

[ This is a perfectly good activity to do when it's storming. It's reasonable! Practical! Bakugou Katsuki is not cleaning because he is bored, Deku! ]

[Why else would anyone be cleaning the rafters randomly???]

[ Huff puff. Don't judge him! He's not going to live in filth! Yet Katsuki is starting to step down off of the ladder and more to look at Izuku and figure out what the nerd came in here for. ]

[He ducks his head sheepishly.]

It shouldn't take too long and then I can help you finish with that.

[ ...Okay. Deku is stuttering. Why the hell is he doing that? ...Actually no. Bakugou already kind of has an idea why the nerd would already be doing this. Because Deku thinks that Katsuki will refuse. Or turn around and tell him that it's stupid.

The shit is even trying to bargain. Augh! ]

[It's still hard to tell with Katsuki! If he actually wants to do quests and things with Izuku or not?! It's also genuinely a reaction he's just so used to reacting with. He doesn't want to be refused so he's asking but also thinking he'll probably be refused. It's complicated.

But... He pushes forward. The same curious little bit of excitement in his eye?]

I- I need your help summoning some of these special spirits. They're storm spirits. If we can get them to appear near one of our windows it'll help all this rainy weather to go away. And I'd like to see what the spirits look like. They're different from pixies and fairies.

[ Has he actually refused any quests with this damn nerd yet? No? No! So why that is still a persistent thought... Well it makes Katsuki want to kick the guy's ass a little. ]

So two birds with one stone. Help the rain go away and satiate your nerdy curiosity about what these spirits look like.

[ Bakugou snorts. Nerds. ]

[Okay, nerd. But he is perking up. A smile appearing on his face and holding the box of materials!]

Uh, right! Okay- Kacchan! It's a little unusual but we have to make some special dolls that will summon them called Teru Teru Bozu dolls. I've got the materials here! The ritual says...

[Hold on a second while he shimmies his phone out of his pocket to check the rest.]

Perform a small...w-wedding...on the windowsill...to summon...them.

[Oh.]

Teru Teru Bozu are traditionally Japanese. I know how to make them, shitty nerd.

[ His mother might have made him do stuff like this as a kid. Right before a family outing or a camping trip, she'd have him do this until he got too old for it. Old hag was kind of into Katsuki doing "cute things" like that before he "became an unruly brat."

Anyway... Deku is still talking about the dolls and how the spirits will -

Oh. ]

So what? This spirit is gonna make a fake or some shit like that?

...?! Ah- Wha- those?!

[It slipped his mind what they were actually called. But he thinks he might have made one or two as a kid too. He thought they were for warding off spirits...?? It makes some sense...]

I'm not sure what the ritual will actually do. As long as we summon them should take over the dolls.

[ Bakugou makes an irritated noise in the back of his throat. Of all the dumb shit... ]

Still isn't the stupidest thing I've agreed to do.

[ Stepping off of the ladder. Brushing by Deku and heading down the stairs! ...That means yes. He'll help. ]

[A small sheepish laugh.]

I don't know, I wonder what the storm spirits look like. It might be better than you think right now, Kacchan.

[Something new to learn? Seeing a cool fantasy spirit? He'll clutch the box of materials and glance at one of the windows.]

Let's use that window.

You don't know what I think.

[ Just saying... Either way, Katsuki's already agreed hasn't he? The blonde's making his way towards the window Deku's pointed out. ]

Come on. I don't have all night.

You don't think seeing some spirits is going to be interesting to see?

[A tiny little spark of curious interest, there!

Izuku is quick to make it over and then opens the box to check the contents of the box. Cloth, strings, fluff to stick inside the dolls, markers of some sort.]

I don't know! Shit. Until we were first kidnapped I never thought any of this shit is real!

[ Katsuki is just going to plop down into a chair. Kind of bad posture and everything. So Izuku's going to, like, make the first one, right? ]

[He'll make the first one... Wish a little bit of a sheepish laugh as he glances at Katsuki's posture. He never changes. But Izuku will hand him some materials.]

I think it's great, knowing all of this is real here? I want to get a chance to see what I can!

[Of course, he does. He rolls up the roll carefully... it's a little lopsided and weird.]

[ He'll reach across the table to snatch up some of the items needed to make one of these things. Katsuki supposes that just being present would be enough for Izuku. The nerd could ramble and do all the work and as long as Bakugou nods his head a bit and just chooses to spend the time with him.

Though he'll just. Put one of these things together to show off. ]

Augh. Can you be any bigger of a nerd?

[ Though... Some of this shit has been pretty cool. ]

[As much as he appreciates that Katsuki is picking to spend time with him, no, he doesn't want to do all the work alone. He's going to make sure Katsuki helps too. This is a group effort. They should work together!]

[Even if his shoulders are going up with a little bit of embarrassment.]

Isn't there anything you like or are curious about in this world, Kacchan?

[ Look, this isn't exactly a complicated affair. Stuff this tissue or paper into the center of the cloth. ]

[ And yet Izuku will ask him this question again when he's half asleep in front of a bonfire. ]

[He starts to string together his doll a little better. Soon they'll have two of them ready for the marriage spell. Thing.]

[He looks down at his doll. Summoning spirits? Yes, he's a nerd. He just wants to know if Katsuki thinks the same things. They used to like stupid things like this as kids.]
