KEY POINTS

Arthur announces the results of the polls and that he spoke to Celliwig's people, they will be testing Camelot the week of the full moon.

A series of choice-based enchanted scenarios is presented based loosely on a modernized seven sins/virtuous responses (power imbalance, cruelty or mercy, excess/greed or restraint, sloth or work ethic, desire/lust or self-control and bravery or cowardice, and sacrifice or self-preservation)

With the polls closed, the decision is made, and King Arthur takes the opportunity to address the kingdom via a streamed press conference. Though it is not an open post, anyone is welcome to comment on it and talk to each other about it. However, it is unlikely that Arthur himself will respond to comments. A notification does appear on everyone's smart devices to invite everyone to watch live; if they tap it too late, it'll still show the recorded stream. "People of Camelot, I wish that we had better news that spoke of an easier path to the calamity that stands before us. Celliwig's charge is with protecting Avalon even in the face of protecting Camelot and those of you who chose to use your voices have shown that you choose to respect their way of handling things. However, it was only just over half of you who chose this path. I think it is important that with such a great portion of people believing that bypassing Celliwig and going directly to Elphame, as much as it may take patience, we take this action into consideration. There is no sense in ignoring the voices of so many when there is nothing to say we cannot approach from two fronts. As Camelot's king, I have issued our intent to accept Celliwig's challenge to a descendant of Glewlwyd, a man who was much trouble for my knights in our time. They have said after failing one, we shall be tested on multiple fronts, the week of the full moon's rise. Bear in mind that this is our final chance at this." Merlin sidles up to Arthur in the video, one arm around his shoulders and leaning in to speak into the mics in a much-too-familiar manner. At least his sunglasses are off this time. "Now then, anyone who wanted to go to Elphame, you'll want to head to the docks around, oh, say, the first of June. Step one to flirting with fae is to put on a good show before the traders leave. It's a good time whether the Celliwig's dooming us or not." A wink accompanies that odd note, and Arthur orders him off stage before thanking everyone for their time. With the consent of its people, Celliwig performs a ritual to place Camelot under a rather strange spell. Much is the same, but there's a sense that everything is just slightly off from what it should be. Fog covers the grounds throughout the entire city throughout the entire day. It's just a little too quiet, the usual hustle and bustle of the city falling just a little too distant on your ears. You can go about your day as normal, but feel as if something is simply off. And eventually, you'll walk through a door, and it will be. Part of the enchantment, however, includes a strange inability to connect these doors with being part of a test-- they seem real, regardless of how absurd the scenario would be were your characters thinking straight. Day One: Power Imbalance The door you walk through is into a club of some kind. It wasn't your intended destination and yet, here you are, and you're being handed a glass of your favorite drink and being ushered to your seat. The show is fantastical, some kind of circus-esque show with gymnasts and magical effects making it impossible to take your eyes off of. That is, until the spotlight falls upon you and urges you down to join the show. A volunteer! Well, one of two. Another volunteer is brought up along with yours, and the ring leader of the circus gives you both bracelets-- one with selenite embedded in it, another with andara. The ring leader explains that they're both known for creating high frequency connections, though one is known to spiritually be associated with finding one's path and the other with manifesting one's true self. When enchanted together, this makes it so that the person with the andara bracelet can order the person with the selenite bracelet to do anything they please-- making their true self the person's purpose. Very dangerous, very intruiging, very tempting, very morally wrong to do it for real, so please keep it to the stage! A quick demonstration of this dark use of magic as part of the show... and it seems that afterward, they forget to take the bracelets back. What will you do with your newfound control over your partner? The choice is, after all, yours. (Or theirs, if you're the unlucky partner with the selenite bracelet-- only the person with the andara can remove the bracelets, after all.) Day Two: Schadenfreude Yesterday seems like a dream, and you may even feel the need to write it off as such unless you run into the same person again and realize no, they too remember it. But if that's not the case, it doesn't matter. You'll be able to find yourself in your definitely normal and usual mideval city, where someone is in the stocks. Your memories seem a little fuzzy on whether or not you're supposed to be in medieval times or not, but this seems right, and there's a fruit vendor right next to you selling soft fruits to throw at the poor sap in the stocks. There are also a number of other ways to mess with the person, including feathers to tickle them, a riding crop, some ink if you want to grafitti the person.. a good number of ways just to humiliate the person without causing them permanent harm. The crowd is cheering you on, but you also see the keys to set them out just sitting on a table nearby. Do you engage in a little sadistic fun or do you embark in a daring rescue? (Or are you the punished in someone else's scenario?) Day Three: Indulge Me Back to the modern day like it didn't happen, you and a friend walk into a door to your favorite convenience store and as you finish up your purchase, you win an all expenses paid trip to the Black Knight's Castle, formerly the home of the Black Knight and turned into a lavish tourist attraction by Yvaine and Laudine's descendents, who have become worshippers of Dionysus. You're transported there in a puff of sparkling magic dust, right before an extravagant golden fountain in the middle of the lobby. The owners explain their policy for the Black Knight's Castle that you can have anything you desire, however much you desire. Anything at all, consequence free. The only thing that they ask is that you give a blood offering to their god to help feed his dead worshippers on the other side of the veil, which will ultimately tie your soul to him as well. Just a quick cut of the palm and you're welcome to come back any time, have anything you want, for the rest of your life. Taking the deal means you really will get what you want! ...For the day, anyway. (This is just a spell, after all, even if your character doesn't want it.) If you choose not to, you'll find yourself magically deposited back to the convenience store. Day Four: What's the Meaning of Stongehenge? This fourth day, there's certainly something to be said about a hard day's work. When you walk through today's door, you find yourself in the middle of a grassy field, strange markings on the ground, and surrounded by oddly shaped boulders. The markings on the ground seem to indicate where some the stones should be placed. There aren't really any directions, but there's always the option of waiting for someone else to solve this problem for you... There is a very comfortable looking patch of grass anyone able to relax in. So the choice is yours: wait for someone else to move the rocks or move them yourself? Day Five: Pooling Desire Day five is a trip to the pools. But not just any pools! These are special, underground pools hidden deep within a cave. You're sure whoever told you to head through this door mentioned something about them being a special relaxation package at the Red Springs. As you head into the pools, however, you find someone in there with you: the subject of your desires. Regardless of who or what they are, they seem to have a crown upon their head, aren't wearing anything in that water, and seem to have a lovely singing voice judging by the tune they're humming to lure you in before you even notice they're there. It is at that point they will try to seduce you, even if that same person is standing right there with you. The seduction, of course, needn't be sexual-- a strong lusting for a turkey leg wrapped in bacon may be just as powerful as a desire for a brand new Ninblendo Swatch or something you should definitely label as NSFW if you want to thread it that way. Give into them, or.. maybe listen to the person who came in with you that they're definitely some kind of weird half-otter bottomed monster under the water before they try to drown you. Or if you're the one trying to stop this, are you brave enough to get in between a stranger and a monster to try to snap them out of the siren's thrall, even if it means fighting both of them? Day Six: #ChaliceChallenge The sixth and final door sets you walking outside on a beach. There's nothing else there really except for nature. The sounds of the waves crashing against the sound is soothing, and real, and sharper than anything you've felt in the last five days of haze. There is no fog today. Clear, blue skies stretch forever above you, not a cloud in sight. The only man-made thing you see is a small woode table and two chairs. Upon that table, two chalices. Nothing will happen and there seems to be no way off of the beach until both parties sit down at the table, at which point a strange old man with huge, rippling muscles of at least 7 feet tall and a long, scraggly beard will appear. He informs your characters of the rules: in one chalice, deadly poison. In the other, water and bitter flavor. Each must drink from one cup, or you will both perish of starvation on this beach. Choose wisely.

[day 3]

[Even before the enthusiastic resort owners have worked their way up to their real sales pitch, the teenage boy who was next to you in the convenience store appears to be on guard. He glances around the lobby as the spiel goes on, making no attempt to hide his suspicion. The hall is too wide, the lights too bright, the gold-trimmed decor too clean. The gold is what tips it over for him, honestly.

So it may seem a little incongruous when, as soon as they're done, he turns to you and says:] Alright. Do you have a clean knife?

[Chances are the Dionysus worshippers have their own, but they haven't brought it out yet, so that hasn't occurred to Sagi yet.]


[day 4]

[As nice as the breeze feels in this grassy plain, it's not long before Sagi notices the contours in the ground and feels compelled to inspect them closer. Pretty soon he's on his feet, heaving against the closest rock with all his might. He figures he got the gist of what puzzle might be at work here, and that's plenty to get started. No need for an excess of caution.

He even makes a little headway with this particular boulder, driving a sizeable furrow in the dirt; for a soft-faced youth, he's no slouch in upper body strength. Still, he picked an awfully heavy one to push around unaided... After a while, with the boulder only about halfway to the indent in the dirt where it appears to fit, he has to stop what he's doing and lean against it to catch his breath.]

Whew... Heavier than the ones... with people. [He takes his entire jacket off to mop his brow. What a workout. It's all he can do to remain coherent while talking to himself - or, as it happens, trying to get the attention of whoever is nearby.] ...Got any water?

[The rock may have veered slightly off angle while he was pushing it, too - the way it's currently lying, it's now obscuring the markings underneath, making the diagram as a whole a lot harder to read. Don't worry about it.

Stars above, he misses his girlfriend so much.]


[day 5]

[And here she is. The figure in the water is a serene-looking young woman, her brown hair tied back in a neat ponytail, her crown resembling a beautiful jewelled tiara. Strangely enough for someone sitting in a pool of water, her entire body below the neck seems to be covered in brass-gold metal plating - motors and steampunk pistons are visible between the cracks in her limbs as she spreads her inviting arms.

Far from being an off-putting sight, the moment Sagi recognises her face, he's gone. The spring escort's warning doesn't register with him, nor does he even remember who else he walked in here with. He splashes straight into the water, fully clothed, and embraces the bizarre mechanical siren like he never wants to let go.]

[For all the good it isn't doing, the young man in the stocks sure is struggling mightily to get out of them. Whether he's trying to tug himself free or attempting to tear the stocks themselves off of the stage, who can say - either way, he obviously isn't getting anywhere. The only effect is his wrists looking steadily rawer and more bruised the longer he tries to force them, and yet he's still trying.]

Why are you doing -

[A tomato hits him in the mouth, cutting him off with a splutter. The crowd seems to find the defiant fire in his eyes almost as funny as the silly moustache and goatee someone drew on him earlier. How long will it last?]

[I. Day One: Power Imbalance - Closed to Kratos]

[He didn't recall any announcement saying the circus was coming to town, but he wasn't going to pass it up. He'd been wondering what any stage performance in this world might be like; turns out the answer is something pretty similar to ones he's been to before.]

[That didn't mean it was boring though.]

[On the contrary, he volunteers when the ring leader asks and is ready to perform...]

[... but what's with the bracelets and andara wielder ordering the selenite wearer around? He looks over at the unfamiliar man with the selenite bracelet.]

Huh... I guess we have to do something briefly so they'll take 'em off?


[II. Day Two: Schadenfreude]

[It's an unfamiliar city, but a very familiar setting for Zidane. From architecture to crowd... to punishment.]

[He's within the crowd, eyeing the stocks, noting the stands set up around, and wonders when exactly was the last time he saw anyone being punished as thus. Couldn't have been all that recent - not with his running around.]

[But that didn't mean he would just watch, or would participate.]

[No... those keys look enticing, but his gaze darts around. Is someone there to help him, or is he performing this breakout on his own?]


[III. Day Three: Indulge Me]

[To have anything, consequence free, certainly sounds like a dream come true - but is it really consequence free if the cost is a little blood? He might be a thief, but he's not that interested in having something - at least, not without a little more effort on his part.]

[Doesn't look like he's up for the offer... but is his companion?]

[If Zidane's with a partner declining the offer alongside him, he blinks and realizes they're back in the convenience store, standing at the register with a bread roll in hand.]

... We weren't here a second ago, right?

[He didn't just space out and imagine that?]


[IV. Day Four: What's the Meaning of Stonehenge?]

[The grass sure does look inviting on a sunny day in a wide field, but the markings and oddly-shaped boulders are way more intriguing. If anything, it screamed puzzle with maybe treasure once solved or an explanation of what it might all mean.]

[Zidane wants to see what's on the other end if this is all figured out.]

Where to start...?

[He's not so much speaking to whomever might be with him, but they could answer. Should they look at all the boulders they have first or consider the markings first?]


[V. Day Five: Pooling Desire (semi-NSFW)]

[What should've started as a trek to some underground pools part of the Red Springs quickly became Zidane freezing up on the path and listening with wide eyes. It's not a song that needs to be loud - not in a cave where he makes out the all too familiar tune that was their song.]

... Dagger.

[He forgets that he's walking next to anyone instantly and hurries on ahead to find the pool. Had she somehow arrived and he'd missed seeing her? It was possible considering all the hubbub, but dammit, he was an idiot making her sing like this.]


[VI. Day Six: #ChaliceChallenge]

[Blue skies, crashing waves, white sand, it seems like all the ideal conditions for a beach if someone wanted to go. That's probably what made the table and chalices stand out as much as they did really. Circling around, tilting his head this way and that, there's no evidence of how it got there or if anyone had brought it. Look, he might be crafty, but he's not managing with a wholeass table, two chairs, and two chalices filled with... something in his pockets.]

Day three

[To have all that she desired for the cost of some blood. Elza had already dismissed the offer before the sentence had even finished. She had once had everything she had ever desired before it had been thoroughly ripped away from her. Instead she had been left with absolutely nothing but regret and heartache. Even at the end he had chosen the Tower over her. That was where his heart lay and she had accepted that fact on that fateful day in Muse.

The gunner glanced around to take in her surroundings when she appeared back in the odd market again. The question drew her attention down to the boy standing beside her.]

We were not.

[As much as she hated to admit it to herself, having her thoughts focused on all she had lost had resurfaced all those feelings of regret and loss she felt towards those she had loved. It left her with a solemn mood hanging over her and whatever playfulness she usually had was currently not there. Instead she stepped back and away from the boy beside her and began to head out.]

Power Imbalance
(Harry didn’t expect to show up in a circus all the sudden, but hey, who doesn’t like going to the circus anyway? The whole show is filled with excitement as he watches on in amazement and sips on some hot chocolate. But then things got more interesting when he gets called in to join another person for a stunt involving bracelets: he wasn’t sure why but he decides that it’s not worth fighting off the opportunity. He does pay attention to the ring leader’s talk on the bracelets, although he probably didn’t watch out for which bracelet he is getting when he soon finds himself getting one of them attached onto his wrist.

It feels so wrong to mess around with other people’s heads as people messing with his head is also bad. The poor teenager wants to get it off right away, but the bracelet is tricky to remove. Even the ring leader doesn’t seem to know what to do with them either.

What’s the Meaning of Stonehenge?
(Now this is something that he doesn’t have to worry too much about with puzzles: he and his friends have dealt with them all the time throughout their Hogwarts years and during the last recent pre-Avalon months. It seems simple: just move the boulders onto the markers and it’s done. Luckily for him, he has the kinetic magic strong enough to move heavier objects after months of training. He can do this without any problems, although anybody is welcome to tempt him to chill out and don’t move a single muscle.)

Pooling Desire
(When he steps into the underground pools to check around, Harry soon finds himself, jaws dropped, to see some familiar faces hanging out in there. His eyes didn’t deceive him: his parents are there, so are Sirius and Remus: they’re calling out in song to him to join them so they won’t be apart anyway. How could he not resist wanting a loving family for once as he had spent most of his life living with unpleasant relatives?

But of course, something is off with this and it’s not just that they have crowns on their heads: they’re also not getting up from the pools, still humming to a lullaby that Lily once sang to him as a baby, which makes this an eerie experience as he draws closer towards them. Somebody better save him before he is doomed!)

(So it all comes to this: Harry is staring blankly at the two chalices on the table in front of him and whoever is beside him. Not even the muscular old man couldn’t scare him as he has dealt with people who have chased after him for so long. The beach is filled with serenity and the sounds of waves crashing is oddly calming despite it also partly reminding him of the time Dobby was dying in his arms on the beach where Shell Cottage was located in.

After the muscled old man told him about the chalice situation, which includes a chalice filled with poison, a part of him is already thinking of not letting the person next to him to die in this place as it would have reminded him too much of Dobby’s death, so he is now reaching his hand towards the poison chalice without any second thoughts. Try to convince him otherwise if you can.)

[A hand clamps down on the guy's shoulder and Noct pulls him back and away from the pool, hoping it will snap him out of the daze. Because he just had a similar experience and if he didn't know for the fact that Luna was dead, stabbed before his very eyes and the sight so vividly engraved in his memory, he'd be fooled as well- with the image of her singing and calling him.

However, the horrific truth kept the daze and allure away and he was just in time before the guy stepped forward and into the pool. Who knows what's in there!]

That's an illusion, [he says in low voice, eyes darting between the guy and the pool warily, expecting something to attack them.] The water could be toxic.

( DAY FOUR )

[ His initial assumption upon seeing the large stones is that they must be statues of some sort, but they lack any distinctive details unless they've been eroded over a long period of time. Still, the entire set-up seems more purposeful than coincidental. When Zhongli realizes he's not alone, he hastily speaks up. ]

Please allow me a moment.

[ He'll approach one of the symbols on the ground first, investigating it closely before moving on to one of the boulders, and once he has given it a good assessment it's back to observing the entire area. There's an equal amount of markings to boulders, so he wonders... hm.

While he thinks, his seelie familiar will be idly wandering about, and it might end up approaching the other individual there curiously just to say hello. ]

( DAY SIX )

[ Once they've taken their seats and instructions have been given, Zhongli seems pensive and silent. The odds are the same for both of them, and he has a feeling that with rules such as these, that they must each drink from one chalice, then there must be no room for negotiation. He can't offer a bargain of any sort. But, he can at least try to make this easier on the other individual. That is, if luck is on his side. ]

I shall be the first to drink.

[ He pushes aside the chalice set in front of himself and instead extends a hand, urging for the other person to give them the chalice set in front of them. Unbeknownst to him, it happens to be the one designated with the poison. ]

[Irritated growl, and he pulls his cup closer! Out of reach, and like he's cradling a baby!] I'm still trying to figure out if I can use magic to work as an antidote!

[Colette is excited to see what the circus is like so of course she goes to check it out. It isn't like she's had much experience with those sort of things given how sheltered she was back home, in the people of Iselia wanting to keep her safe for her Journey that they couldn't risk anything happening to her.

But just going to have a look, to watch seems innocent enough at least? She goes to check it out and sits amid the crowd, all excited and in awe, easily impressed at the show. She isn't anticipating being a volunteer, but surely they wouldn't let anything happen to the volunteers? So she goes ahead with it, being given the selenite bracelet to be ordered by the other.]

Connections? Finding one's true self and path......

[She is rather uncertain regarding the future. Mostly because she never expected to have one? Though Colette isn't sure how wearing this will help with that exactly?]

Um, but what do I have to do?

Schadenfreude:

Let them go!

[Yup. Colette is generally the more cheerful and ditzy type, of course. But she is not able to just stand idle when someone is being treated like this. No matter what they did to end up in this situation. She can't see how this would help anything. Would teach anyone not to do whatever it is again that landed them in the stocks in the first place. So she throws her chakram at it, before that obviously fails and she then notices the keys, reaching for them.]

Whatever happened, they can't deserve this. This is just cruel.

Pooling Desire:

a: Doggos!

[Somehow. For most anyone that knows Colette, it wouldn't be surprising that in spite of her previous experience, she still sees....dogs. A lot of dogs. All having such fun swimming and wagging their tails, ready for all the pets if she would just join them!

She's so so very tempted. She bites her lower lip, reaching and kneeling as if to go to pet one of them closer to her.]

So many! They all deserve a pet!

b: The Lloyd option

[The option where her best friend is there. And beckoning for her to join him. To come with him to stay together after her Journey is over. That she could stay with him as they travel the world together. That he knows how she feels and feels the same way.

Colette reddens at that last part, but what he says beyond that seems to go over her head as he apparently attempts to flirt with her in enticing her to join him in the water. She just looks blank or simply confused as she asks what he means.]

c: Iselia

[Assuming the pool is large enough, she might encounter the people of the village she grew up in, Iselia. All gathered enjoying themselves and beckoning her to join them and relax. That she earned this in relaxing after her Journey and everyone was safe and happy, prospering again after so long. She raises her hands to her face and bursts into tears at hearing that, falling to her knees.]

Everyone.....? Everyone is okay....?

[Kratos told her, more or less that things worked out. It's another thing to experience it like this though?]

One is.....poison? Well. I don't want you or anyone else to die because of me so. I'll have that one! Wait, which.....?

[How do they know? They have to drink to find out? She isn't sure how this works but she already knows which she would prefer. If it would mean this man doesn't die. She's been raised to sacrifice herself for Sylvarant. Doing so far him doesn't seem all that different, in the end. So of course she is more prone to consider herself less valuable. More expendable.]

They have no idea which one has the poison in it, which is why Kratos snatches up both glasses before Colette tries to experiment with them or something. The look he gives her is like one a father might give to his kid after they've said something intensely stupid. You have your whole life ahead of you, Colette, don't throw it away for this idiot.]

A. Schadenfreude

Fenton isn't even quite sure how he arrived there, suddenly standing in town next to a fruit vendor. Usually it would bother him a bit more that he couldn't recall, but his mind is a bit hazy all around.

It takes him a moment to realize that the surrounding crowd is talking to him, and someone places a piece of fruit in his hands. Confused, he tries to protest as he's ushered to the front of the crowd, and his eyes fall upon the stocks, where some other people surround whoever is locked up, jeering as they mess with the person with whatever's available. When the assailants see him, the encourage him to throw him as they step back.

And he takes a breath, realizing what they want him to do.

B. What's the Meaning of Stongehenge?

Fenton examines the markings on the ground for a moment, then looks at the boulders. "A puzzle!" he says, and he can't help a slight grin. "Perfect. Every puzzle has a solution. It's just a matter of figuring it out."

He barely notices if another person arrives, already trying to work out how the boulders correspond to the markings. How he plans on moving the boulders, though, he'll have to figure out later.

C. Pooling Desire

Fenton stiffens as the sound of singing echoes throughout the cavern. He pauses, listening for a moment before he takes in a sharp breath.

"Gandra Dee...?"

Then he's off like a shot, following the sound of the song towards one of the many pools in the cave. He skids to a stop, his eyes widening when he sees the the familiar figure sitting in the pool, and his cheeks flush as she glances over her shoulder at him with a smile.

"G-Gandra...?"

"You were right, Fenton...I want to work with you...but I need your help."

He swallows, taking a step towards the pool.

[Well, looks like Hawk is the unlucky sap to be stuck in the stocks. Apparently it's because of him breaking people out of prison, multiple times. He definitely has no clue how anyone accomplished catching him.

Still, he's a master at breaking people out of prison, why not get himself out of this? Of course he's going to try and find out that he can't teleport. He'll see the keys and try to move them but only can make them jingle a bit and not move from their spot. Well, that sure sucks.]

What's the Meaning of Stongehenge? - Open

[Hawk tends to find such things like puzzles to be boring, but at the same time it's something he's good at. What he dislikes more is heavy grunt work like pushing stones. Good thing he's got kinetic magic and has practiced at moving things with it. Nothing quite this heavy yet but it should hopefully be simpler than things like untying knots, right?

So whoever ends up stuck with him will notice him laying in that comfy grass and one of the stones is slowly moving on its own. So is he with another kinetic magic user who can help? Does his partner have another type of magic that could do this or are they going to do it the hard way and push stones into place? Also, who knows if the solution he's come to is even correct. Those directions sure are vague and he had to guess at some of the placements.]

[It likely comes as no shock whatsoever to anyone who knows Hawk that his deepest desire has to do with fighting. That's definitely a plus because he's going to fight the siren either way. Problem is, he sees it as being a very particular opponent that was supposed to already be defeated by him and his fellow Monstrums. Hawk being Hawk and really having a thing for fighting this particular opponent isn't going to see anything strange about that. He's all for another duel and this time being able to show he can win this by himself.

But what Chris can see for now is that he's got his swords out and he's moving towards the siren and the water. However, she's seen him in battle enough to know something is definitely off about him and how he is moving.]

[How strange... Kotarou was positive that they didn't have stocks here before. Or maybe they did, but he happened to overlook them. He had bought a basket of fruits from the vendor and was munching down on an apple. He noticed one of the people looking at a set of keys... Some of these people looked like they didn't want to be here. He couldn't help and want to meddle around in wanting to free some fellows who looked like they didn't need to be up there. His eyes stop on the young man who looked around his age.

Could he be trying to use kinetic magic? Or was I just seeing things? Kotarou being himself couldn't help and make a snarky reply. Some people were urging him to throw his fruits over at Hawk, but even Kotarou wasn't that cruel. He does tend to take the situation more lightly than he should as he approaches him.]

You know... They said that there's four keys to making a successful prison break. If you can guess what those are, then I'll lend you a hand.

[So that's how it is... Hijikata is disappointed. While he knew that the invasion proponents were bound to be a minority - dangerous and volatile, but certainly a minority - he did not expect so many people to vote for another set of trials (to be fair, it's going to be the first time for many, but even so). He vents his frustration once the stream ends, not caring that he's in public.]

Are you shitting me?! So now those arrogant, cloistered snobs get to put us through the wringer again because a bunch of people want to prove themselves to them? How about Celliwig proves that they've got something to bring to the table for once? Because right now they're not doing their job of being a connector at all!

[At least King Arthur did acknowledge the sizeable population segment that voted for leveraging Camelot's trade with Elphame and is leaving that path open as well, which is a bit of a consolation, but Hijikata is still very, very salty about what an ego stroke this outcome must be for Celliwig.]


Try, Trial Again!

[Despite all his bitching Hijikata doesn't leave Camelot when the time of the trials arrives. He wants to see what Celliwig has cooked up for them this time around, and he can't switch off his protective policeman instincts. So as the fog creeps in and his senses, which should be on sharper than usual at a time like this, somehow seem to get dulled down instead, the trials begin.]

Day 1: Power Imbalance (for concierto)

[Hijikata barely remembers how he ended up here. He definitely didn't intend or expect to watch a circus show with gymnasts and dancers and all sorts of wondrous magical effects, but it's enchanting and captivating like little he's seen before, and they even gave him sake to drink! He's mesmerised until he's invited up to the stage with another member of the audience...

Somehow Hijikata is not surprised to see Venti here. After their magic carpet ride he feels like exciting new experiences seem to be right up his alley. They listen to the ring leader explaining the bracelet magic, and before they know it Venti's wearing the one with the faintly rainbow-shimmering andara stone while Hijikata has the one with the milky white selenite. One quick demonstration later they receive a round of applause before being ushered back to their seats, and the show continues. It's only when Hijikata exits the building, feeling dazed and unsure what he was planning to do next and what time it even is, that he realises he still has the bracelet on. He turns back, wanting to head inside and return it, but... shouldn't he first see if Venti's okay with that? His opinion matters the most after all. (Wait, since when?)]

That show was amazing, wasn't it? Did you like it? I'm not sure if we were meant to keep these, though.

Day 2: Schadenfreude

[It's a day like any other in medieval Camelot, and of course some poor sod has been put in the stocks again. Hijikata declines the overripe fruit offered by the vendor and marches up to the unfortunate person who may already have endured quite some mockery and jeering from the crowd.]

So what'd you do to end up like this?

[He's hardly outraged at the humiliating display, after all that's how things are done here - but he knows that the guards do play favourites and are all the harder on those who aren't in their good graces. The crowd is cheering him on - "Use the riding crop!", "Use the feather!" - but he'll first get his information right from the source and decide for himself if this is a justified punishment or an undue overreaction by an overzealous authority figure.]

Day 3: Indulge Me

[The Black Knight's Castle is a place of such opulence and wonder, Hijikata is reeling from the splendour. All this as a reward for just buying his usual dozen bottles of mayonnaise... at least this time the grand prize doesn't seem to just be a prank of Okita's. He turns to the castle's owners, who welcome him and his companion, introduce themselves, and tell them about their Dionysian faith. As they offer the two of them anything they want in exchange for a minor blood sacrifice Hijikata's expression turns increasingly frowny, and as soon as they've excused themselves to give the guests time to decide he immediately shares his opinion.]

I'm not doing that. I mean, selling my soul to a god I don't even know? And feeding his dead worshippers with my blood?! Creepy! Anyone could see that that's a bad idea. You agree, right?

Day 4: What's the Meaning of Stongehenge?

[Hijikata once again has no idea how he ended up here. He just walked through a door, but now it's gone, and he's in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by just open grassland and a good amount of massive boulders. Alright then! He walks around a little, inspecting the site, and soon notices that it appears to still be under construction, with markings on the ground indicating where and how the boulders are meant to be set up. He tries to push one of the smaller ones, but only manages to move it incrementally and with great effort.]

Ugh... yeah, that's not going to work. I wish I had kinetic or alchemic magic or something.

[He's not going to just laze about, because this is frustrating him and he wants to do something (not least because he seems to be stuck here, unless he were to aimlessly start trekking into whichever direction), but on his own he won't be able to accomplish much.]

Day 5: Pooling Desire

[Hijikata loves visiting public baths. There's little that could be more relaxing after a long, hard day of work! Little does he know that there's someone unexpected waiting for him and his companion in the grottos...]

A ⦿ SFW...ish

[Who else would it be but Hijikata's beloved mayonnaise mascot Mayorin! Unlike the dozen little mascots he created months ago this one is quite big, about twice as tall and thrice as wide as a person, but Hijikata seems completely unfazed by that. Mayorin comes in all sizes (but only one shape)! In front of the rotund creature floats a round tray with a high rim (to prevent water from entering) on which stands... a mayonnaise fountain. Hijikata gets visibly excited.]

Mayorin! You're here..!! Were you waiting for me? I'm coming over!

[Mayorin makes some blubbery noises, the same sing-song sound that was already faintly resounding through the grottos when Hijikata and his companion arrived, and invitingly waves his chubby hand. Join him! He has more cups for them to get drunk on mayonnaise with him! Let's just disregard that his legs, mostly hidden by the water, the strategically placed tray, and his voluminous belly, look suspiciously otter-like...]

[Did Hijikata come back again later? Did he completely and utterly forget what happened the first time around and walk through the same mystery door twice? Well, this time the song echoing through the grottos sounds very different. For a start, it's Norwegian, a language Hijikata doesn't even speak. But he takes off running regardless, and when his companion catches up with him they'll find him lovingly looking at the woman in the water. Her nudity is covered up by four large tentacles that seem to protrude from her back.]

You're here..! I'm so happy! Did your moonblessing change? You became an Iris? And you got stuck like that?! Even after being transported here?

Yes, hehe! You don't mind, do you?

[Her voice is warm and humorous, as if she were teasing him a little. The small laugh sounds genuine rather than wicked... so there's probably no harm in letting Hijikata plow his way through the water to her while throwing around weird jargon, right?]

Of course not! I'm just so relieved to see you again!

[Is he really going to have a sappy reunion (and, going by the smoldering looks they're exchanging, probably a make-out session) with a mysterious octopus (quatropus?) lady no one on Avalon has ever seen before? Right in front on his companion? Maybe they should clear their throat to remind him of their presence... and point out that the lady's lower two tentacles are hiding something that's distinctly not human legs.]

Day 6: #ChaliceChallenge

[At first Hijikata felt almost blinded by the bright sunlight, which made him realise just how awfully foggy it's been for the entire week (both in Camelot and in his head). Depending on who he's with they may have wandered along the shore, sat at the beach, and/or even gone for a swim - or maybe they immediately focused on getting back out of here. Regardless, at some point both of them end up sitting down at the table, and immediately the biggest, buffest old man Hijikata has ever seen appears.

They listen to the man's explanation of the challenge, and after confirming that it's impossible to distinguish which chalice holds the bitter water and which the poison Hijikata gets pissed off. He grabs the old man by the collar (never mind that he has to stretch up quite a bit to accomplish that).]

What the hell is your deal?! How's this a challenge?! We can't even know who of us is going to bite the bullet, how are we supposed to make a decision?!

[Claude's nothing if not good at escaping sticky situations, but somehow he hasn't managed to get himself out of this one. Sentenced to the stocks for a crime he doesn't even remember committing, he has the joy of getting the ire of an entire town hurled his way. Humiliating? Definitely. Familiar? More than he'd care to admit.

He's pretty much given up on trying to escape given that his head and arms are both fully trapped and his magic is of no use, but eventually he'll spot someone in the crowd who is either a familiar face, or at the very least, someone who looks sympathetic compared to the rest.]

Oh, uh... Hey! Enjoying the show?

[How does he convey please help without drawing the crowd's attention to them...? He's not above begging, but right now it doesn't seem wise to make it obvious.]


DAY FIVE
[As a fan of the hot springs, Claude was absolutely ready to investigate this so-called "special relaxation package" the red springs had going on. So after inviting a companion along (or running into a stranger), they agree to head down together, at which point Claude hears a song echoing through the cave.

The one singing is Byleth -- not the one here in Avalon -- but one with mint-green hair and eyes, a crown on her head, which is perhaps the first hint he should have noticed that something is amiss. But that isn't the first thought in his mind right now, when he's simply overjoyed to see her, a rare, genuine smile on his face.]

Teach! I didn't realise you were one for singing. [He's lighthearted, joking around, all thoughts of the person he arrived with are forgotten as he moves into the water. She's at once the key to all his ambitions, but more than that now, his dearest friend, so of course his desire would be to see her again before anything else.] Guess all that choir practice was worth it.


DAY SIX
[Once Claude is seated, and the old man explains the rules, Claude just... stares at him for a moment, as if to wait for the punchline or the man to burst into laughter. When that isn't forthcoming he frowns.]

You know, if this is a really elaborate prank, it isn't funny. Can we go now?

[The old man explains there's nowhere to go, and they'll be stranded here unless they drink. Claude's getting more and more confused by the second and he shoots a sceptical look across the table to the other person he's seated with.]

Day One: Power Imbalance

Gokudera hadn't meant to be where he is now, watching this show, taking in all the great effects. It's a comfort that he isn't alone, that there is talent like this in this world that captures the imagination. He's consumed by it until the light falls on him and someone else.
He has no idea what to do, but can't help that the stage is calling. It won't be the first time he's been on a stage, and he hopes it won't be his last. He'd have at least liked a piano, but it seems this is going to be a show of natural talent? He's quite flexible and capable of some acrobatics, actually.

So whoever he ends up with will have a very willing partner in this. He doesn't notice which bracelet is on his wrist, but if his partner so much as wants to hog the stage and have him step aside, he'll move. Because he has to, he's being pushed or pulled by that same magic tied to the stone.

The last time he'd been made to follow commands, it was on a stage, and it was indecent and humiliating. Here's hoping that his partner will treat him better. Gokudera has all manner of bombs on his person, and with the right flick of the wrist, he'll pull them out. Most of them are smoke bombs or are confetti. Some are more like fireworks, and their explosions will be like claps to the music of the show.

Use him or work with him however you see fit. He can complain all he wants, but even a stick-in-the-mud like him understands the importance of putting on a good show.


Day Two: Schadenfreude CW: Mentions of past abuse

How did this happen?! It reminds him of the I hope I spell this right Lupercalia, when he'd been publicly bound and whipped. He's at least clothed and everyone that has harrassed him as not done so in a sexual manner.

It's not like his reactions indicate anything about that aside from maybe he's been bound and beaten before. Anyone that approaches he looks on with outright fear in his peridot eyes, visibly tenses, and if they happen to have dark hair, he seems to struggle and then later look at their hands to see what they may plan to do. The collar about his neck seems to not register any of his distress, but the ring and chain of it do knock into the wood of the stockade.

He resembles a small feral animal, snarls at most anyone that approaches him, and all but cowers, hands clenched and wrists reddened from his tugging, though he knows it's useless. There is some tomato juice on his face, and the back hem of his shirt has been lifted where someone doodled a crude looking little face on the badly scarred skin of his lower back.

Gokudera is not okay. Please help him, or stop whoever is picking up an egg to lob at his face. He's not even yelling. Any noise he makes is one of fear and pain, mostly all mental.


Day Five: Pooling Desire CW: Could get NSFW High probability of it. Let me know if you don't want that, and I can reasonably accommodate.

Most anyone who has spoken to him after his CRAU/canon update time travel nap knows Gokudera is hung up over a relationship with a version of Yamamoto who is not currently in New Camelot. He's engaged to Yamamoto Takeshi, and the one in this world (while on hiatus) is blissfully unaware. That's only making Gokudera pine harder. He doesn't go through this door with the expectation of seeing his fiance, but to relax and take his mind off the emotional stress he's been piling on himself.
When he walks in and hears a familiar voice humming, he steps towards the water.

"Takeshi...?" He sounds hesitant. Wasn't the baseball idiot back at the inn with the Tenth? Gokudera is drawn forward like a moth to a flame, noticing the crown and giving an affectionate smile.

"Take that off, idiot. It looks stupid on y-" And then not!Yamamoto is standing and Gokudera realizes he's naked. That he's being beckoned forward, and how could he refuse? This looks just like the man he left behind. There's no scar on his chest. There's still a boyish, playful innocence to his eyes. That same stupid smile that Gokudera can't help wanting to fiercely protect.

"Hayato, join me." not!Yamamoto replies. Gokudera's mouth goes dry and he flushes. "Okay... Hang on." And he's pulling off his shirt and setting it aside. Next, his pants are coming off, leaving him only in a pair of black briefs before he's wading into the pool and readily approaching.

"Idiot... What took you so long?" He asks, voice cracking gently.


Day Six: #ChaliceChallenge

This has been one of the worst weeks of Gokudera's life.

He comes up to sit at the table without argument and looks out over the beach, eyes tired. This is as close to being completely spiritually broken as he'll ever look. He sighs and listens to the waves, remembering fishing bare handed in an alien ocean. The beach is relaxing, but Gokudera is looking forward to a sunset, and has the urge to swim, to go until his body gets too tired. He sighs and looks over at the cups. To drink, or not to drink? He'll follow whatever the other person at the table wants. But first, he's going to watch the waves crash in and idly wonder if the tide is going out or coming in.

“Oh bollocks, these things are so bloody annoying to remove,” Harry grumbles to the other man after his last attempt to forcibly remove the bracelet failed on him, “I can’t believe that we’re stuck with these bracelets. What should we do now?”

It’s then that she notices another figure out of the corner of her eyes and waves.]

"I'm not interested in performing for you," he snaps. But of course, the thing won't come off that easily. And it seems they demand a demonstration as well. Emet-Selch glares at the other person roped into this act with him. A lesser person may wither under his gaze.

"If you say one word..." he warns.

2. Day Four: All Rest and No Work

As soon as he sees the girth of the stones they're being asked to push, he sits himself down on the grass and uses one of them as a way to rest his head. There is no way he is going to waste energy pushing these gargantuan stones.

Which leaves whoever comes in after him to do the heavy lifting. Literally. He cracks open an eye once he hears them approach, sitting up with a yawn.

"About time someone else showed up."

3. Day Five: That's No Genie

Emet-Selch stops dead in his tracks as soon as he enters the underground pool room. There, sitting carelessly with nary a scrap of cloth to be seen, is a friend he has thought long dead. He would recognise their humming anywhere. They turn upon hearing him enter, long, white hair trailing in the water. It should strike him as odd to see the crown upon their head, but he only has eyes for their own.

"What are you doing here?" he asks numbly. His friend smiles and holds out their hand.

4. Day Six: Cups and Poison

Two chalices. One holds poison, one holds bitter water. An age-old conundrum that their philosophers use as one of the starting points of debate. One must die for the other, but how does one decide which life holds the higher worth? Is it arrogant to say life has unequal worth? What criteria decide who lives and who dies?

Emet-Selch swallows hard. Really, isn't this as good a chance as any? Hasn't he craved death for millennia? Memories of Hythlodaeus' words intrude upon his thoughts, his tearful friend pleading that he not leave them alone. But isn't it selfish to want to live for that alone?

The Ascian lifts his gaze to the other person sitting across from him. The swarthy old man watching them looks like he will brook no argument from either of them. They cannot sit here indefinitely either. What to do...?

Izzy maneuvered around until she was at the front of the crowd, trying to see what was going on. Someone was in the stocks. It took her a few moments to remember what the stocks were and why this bullshit was done. She studied the face of the person stuck on the wrong end of the crowd.

Trying to figure out if the crowd was right. Or, if she had to guess, the fucked up masses were wrong.

Day Three - Indulge Me

"So I just- get whatever I want? No other strings but the blood thing?" Izzy is waiting for there to be some clear downside to this deal. These deals always have a downside. What world would just give you what you want without making you claw and fight your way for it.

What world is fair.

But she's definitely interested, in the deal. She deserves it. After April, and Elena, and being in this world. She deserved to goof of, not worry for a bit. Have her fun. She'd get bored and come back eventually. This would be a good time for someone to explain the ins and outs of offering blood to blood gods to her.

Day Four - What's the Meaning of Stonehenge

Izzy had been on her way home from shopping when the door she went through decided she needed a break, in a sunny field, with some rocks. She gathered, to a degree, what the game here was. Where the rocks wished to be placed.

But given her kinetic magic wasn't that exact, and without it she is absolutely tiny and of no actual use moving rocks. She's decided to just have a little fun. She's got her paints out, and brushes, and is putting intricate dark imagery onto the side of one of the larger stones. Instead of being of any use.

What's the good of doing what you're told, when you're told the impossible to do.

Day Five - Claude

[It's fairly obvious that the stones need to be laid out in the designated spaces, but a test push reveals what he suspected—he won't be able to move them on his own, at least not like this.

1) Animal Magic. He's still trying to use different forms of animals, but...]

I wonder... Would an ox work? Or a bear.

[Just some quiet musing as he contemplates what animal he should try to transform into. He's not sure if he would be successful, but...can't hurt to at least try, right? All else fails he can try turning into a giant dire wolf.

2) Get up. If he spots someone lazing about or seemingly at a loss of what to do, he'll try and get them to work. How rough he is depends on how much they're goofing off.]

Hey, stop spacing out. We need to get these moved.

Maybe it fell in and can't get out? TIME TO RESCUE A PUP!!! He is definitely going to take very determined steps toward the water, the aura around him a little intense as he is determined.

2) Time to electrify a monster. Alternatively, Eustace isn't the one entranced but whoever happened to step into the room right before him. Seeing the siren and after realizing the other person is affected, he'll try and reach out to them to stop them from moving forward.]

Don't listen, it's not real!

[Hopefully it won't come to violence, but if he has to fight and even knock them unconscious he will. As for getting rid of the siren...well they say water is a great conductor for electricity.]

That should sound shady to him, and yet, he acts immediately, there's only one thing he heart desires right now.

To go on an epic adventure, with an amazing treasure at the end!

The contract is made, and with a poof, Bennett and his +1 are whisked away to their "epic adventure", a trek through a dangerous set of catacombs. Monsters' howls can be heard in the distance, only drowned out by the occasional clanging sound of traps awaiting them.]

He takes a few tentative steps into the caves until he notices a young boy heading into the spring... And heading towards the ominous siren who certainly intended to drown him. Or eat him. He's not sure which, but Kotarou definitely didn't want to find out!]

[Nope. It looked like he wasn't listening. What the hell!? First Minotaurs, now them?! I thought those only existed in mythology books! This was no time for Kotarou to geek out over discovering an UMA. His body moves before he could even think about it. Kotarou materializes a light pole in his hand and leaps over to step between Bennett and the siren, then proceeds to smack the siren across the face without any hesitation. Then he'll turn around to Bennett to give him a firm bonk on the head with his light pole.]

A. Yuya: [ The first option... the person Yuzu sees in the pool is a boy with two-shaded hair just like herself... though unlike her two shades of pink, he has red and green hair... you might even compare it to a tomato. His name is Yuya Sakaki... and she's missed him. ]

[ The singing halts for a second as he turns his head to look at her, a familiar smile on his face. ]

[ His voice is calm, which sets off a few questions, but... she's already taking steps forward. He's here, he's right there, they found each other again... ]

B. Masumi: [ To be frank, this was actually kind of a pretty big realization for Yuzu that she could even think about Masumi like this. Seriously, it's crazy what seeing a topless girl can do for you. In any case, a dark-skinned girl by the name of Masumi Kotsu is currently topless in the water, and Yuzu's eyes are wide. ]

[ Her voice is deep and husky, and she turns to face Yuzu... which of course prompts Yuzu to blush even further. ]

Come on in... the water's nice...

[ Yuzu's vision blurs. Her voice is hypnotic... and of course it is, it's a Siren. Masumi beckons Yuzu over with a finger, and Yuzu starts to step forward, reaching up to her neck in order to loosen her collar...

Yeah, you might wanna stop her before things start getting a bit too risky. ]

C. Parts of Herself: [ Assuming the pool is large enough... there are actually three Sirens in the pool waiting for Yuzu... and they all look almost exactly like her?

Seriously, you would think that vastly different hair colors and styles would be enough to differentiate them, but their faces are all so perfectly identical to Yuzu's that it's almost like looking at mirrors. It would be perfectly reasonable to just assume that there are just... three other Yuzu's wearing wigs or something.

In the pool, is Yuzu's counterparts. The other reincarnation of Ray Akaba's soul that was split among the four dimensions. The one with minty green hair is Rin, the one with black/purple hair is Ruri, and the one with blue/indigo hair is Serena.

They take notice of her, the three girls stopping their singing... but their voices still calling to Yuzu regardless. ]

Well, at least their voices were different.

[ Yuzu blinks, walking forward to go to them. Be one...? Oh, right... so that they could become Ray again... something in the back of her mind tingles unpleasantly, but why should she not want that? Why should she not want to become Ray again?

She was just a quarter, a fragment of Ray's soul that Leo Akaba tried to put back together again.

[ Well, she doubted that either of them could actually take this massive unit of an old man on in a fight... especially since Yuzu's magic involved animals and healing. Still, this was a classic puzzle seen in fiction, and there was an easy fix to figuring out who was drinking the poison.

Still, she keeps her mouth shut for now, considering the options in front of them. ]

Day two

[This isn't a scene Soundwave is unfamiliar with, seeing someone in stocks and publicly humiliated and punished, but it's off and uncomfortable all the same, even when the punishment isn't as extreme as the things he's seen in Cybertron's past society. Regardless, his troubled expression isn't visible to others when it's covered behind a faceplate, but he is watching between the prisoner and the civilian's extreme delightful jeering.

A part of him thought to just leave as it isn't any of business, but is that right to do? He wonders what it is that the prisoner has done to receive this. A question he doesn't ask. It's hard to tell what or where he's looking at behind the visor, but he's eyeing the key over there. Care to join him, or just watch him try to break them out on his own. Or maybe you're stuck in the stocks.]

Day four

[Well, this looks to be a very simple task. One look around and he's figured that the boulders needed to be placed to their designated marks. While his strength is reduced here, he fortunately has kinetic magic with him to help move the boulders around for him. Still, they are quite heavy and large, and moving the stone is a very slow progress. Maybe another magic user could help?

Regardless, Soundwave continues to work even when he's feeling a bit winded now, not really the type to just relax when there's something to be done, as inviting as the grassy field is.]

Day six

[It's a sunny day out, perfect to take a dive in the water and relax on the beach.

However that moment is short-lived the moment a strange muscular man came out of nowhere after he (and his partner?) took their respective seats. Soundwave is pensive after the instruction is given by the muscular man- he's still taller than him, if only by one foot. No room for negotiations though as it seems the old man is serious about the "challenge" here. He somewhat doubts that whatever poison they had will kill him, though only somewhat because he isn't entirely sure what will happen to his system. He's just sure that he isn't going to die due to some poison... Or at least he hopes so.

One might not think a mech is capable of drinking, especially with no visible mouth on his 'face', but he's already reaching for one of the chalices, only stopping when he realizes there isn't a visible difference between the poisoned or the bitter water. If only his scanner function could work here......]

Which one holds the poison. I'd be willing to take that one, but...

Day two

[Elza could easily admit that she hadn't been fond of the events that had transpired the previous day. She thought over her distaste of it while she stood deep in the crowd while they jeered and taunted the ones stuck in the stockade.

It wasn't a punishment unknown to her but she hardly saw the point behind it. Then again it wasn't like she had any feelings whatsoever for those trapped within the confines of their public prison either. That was obvious enough as the gunner ignored the crowd and those imprisoned entirely.

Instead her attention was fixated on the metal construct also standing within the crowd. She'd heard of machines that were somewhat similar but she had never witnessed them herself.]

DAY FOUR:

[Marianne is not a physically strong person. Even if she had the inclination to take on the task of moving these boulders alone, she lacks the ability.

That's not to say, however, that she's remaining idle while waiting for someone else to arrive. Depending on when you approach, she can be found doing one of the following:

- pushing on a stone with her full weight, despite knowing it won't actually work
- trying to figure out if she can can make any progress moving the boulders using a large branch she can barely lift as a lever
- negotiating with a herd of cattle that's standing nearby to try and enlist their help

Regardless of the state you find her in, Marianne stops what she's doing as she's approached.]

Um, if it isn't too much trouble, would you be able to help?


DAY FIVE:

[The song Marianne hears is a lullaby, one she hasn't heard since she was a young girl.

Sitting in the pool of water is her father, a man presumed dead for nearly a decade. Instantly, everything around her--the relaxation package, the person she's arrived at the pools with, the fact that she's in Avalon at all--seems to melt away. All that matters is that he's here, and alive, and the world can be however she wants it to be. She and her parents can live out their lives in peace in the countryside. No Crests. No curses. No war.

He smiles, warm and welcoming.]

"Look at you, Mari. My, how you've grown."

[Without a second thought, Marianne drops everything she's carrying and starts to run to him.]

Day Four

[Elza hadn't so much as approached the woman but had sat in the grass not far from where she was working. The task seemed to be well beyond her and yet she still kept trying different methods to try and move the boulders.

Tilting her head to one side as she addressed. The gunner makes no move to get to and offer assistance and stays relaxed on the grass.]

Looks like you've got this handled.

[ ledo possibly hasn't blinked once since he showed up here, not wanting to miss a thing. initial confusion at ending up in a strange place quickly wore off when the show started and he watches the amazing spectacle with wide-eyed fascination.

he doesn't realise immediately that the spotlight's fallen on him until someone starts waving him up to the front and he stands there looking lost while they choose another "volunteer". it's probably a good thing that he's received the selenite bracelet because he's the definition of stage fright right now, having no experience whatsoever with being on stage like this.

the actual demonstration itself is a similar blur. he doesn't think anything of the fact that he's still wearing the bracelet until the show's over, and he notices the unfamiliar weight at his wrist, trying to remove it. by the time he finally gives up and tries to find someone to help, it seems like everyone related to the show has disappeared somewhere.

that leaves the other bracelet-wearer as the only other person who might have a clue, which is why he's standing here now. ]

Were you able to remove yours? I would just cut through it, but it is a magical item...

[ which is to say he's not sure what might happen if he tries to damage it. what if the enchantment responds in a bad way? it seems like he's more concerned with that than the implications of still being bound to someone. you wouldn't abuse that power, would you? ]

I do not need a "relaxation package"...

[ his objections ignored, ledo finds himself in the underground and looks less than thrilled about it. he sighs, shoulders slumping a little as he decides that if he's stuck here anyway, then he'll at least try and enjoy it, even if the lack of something productive to do makes it difficult to justify.

he heads further in, pausing at one point as a voice echoes within the cave. things surprise him in this world all the time, but this is a different sort of reaction; even a stranger can tell that there's something about it that he recognises.

ledo rushes ahead, eventually finding the source. they don't resemble each other, so it's unlikely they're related, although they do have several features in common, like their silver hair and a similar too pale complexion. nonetheless, it's quite obvious that this person means something to ledo. more than that, he's never looked so overjoyed. ]

Commander Kugel! I didn't know you were here!

[ and he wonders for a moment if that was the little joke here. "relaxation". he'd be lying if he said it wouldn't be a load off his mind to have a superior officer to defer to. ]

I didn't know you could sing! And what's that?

[ he points at his own head, indicating the crown the other is wearing. things he should maybe consider to be odd, but he never does. ]

This place has unusual customs, does it not? Come! You were due for some R&R, weren't you? You might as well enjoy the time before we return.

Return? Commander, do you mean—...

[ he's almost too afraid to say it directly, but the implications are clear enough. it's everything he hoped for, not only to return to the world and the battlefront that he knows but to find his commander here alive and well too? ]

Are you willing to follow my command again?

Yes! [ that's maybe a bit too enthusiastic and informal, so he settles down and salutes appropriately. ] I mean—... yes, of course, Commander. Ensign Ledo ready to rejoin command in the Galactic Alliance Army of Humankind.

[ it doesn't matter what anyone told him when he got here about magic or calamities; who knows better than his superior who surely comes bearing the knowledge and the science of the galactic alliance? ledo never even thinks about it. maybe now might be a good time to speak up? ]

↳ { iii. day six; open to all }

[ even if the previous day was only a dream it feels like a cruel one. he should know better than to let something like that get to him, but it lingers in the back of his mind and feels like an extra weight has settled on his shoulders.

now he sits at a table on an alien beach listening to the waves. he says nothing for a long time, not really acknowledging whoever has the misfortune of being trapped here together with him. ledo knows the rules — drink and one will die or refuse and die together. not really a difficult decision at all from where he's sitting. he won't let anyone else sacrifice themselves.

now for the first time, he finally acknowledges the person across the table: ]

Let us determine which is the poison; then I will take it.

[ he sounds sure of himself and set in his decision. a soldier faces the potentiality of death each time they go into battle; this is a more peaceful way of it, at least? ]

Day 2

a) Caster in the Stocks (tw immolation/murder)

[She wasn't sure how she ended up here but- well, perhaps it was to be expected for her to end up like this. Without her cloak to cover her face, without access to her magic, and without any other clear way to escape... ergh.

The whisperings about her crimes aren't consistent. Some simply called her a witch. Others said she was a traitor to her homeland. And yet more accused her of burning everyone at her former spouse's wedding to death when he left her, with him as the only survivor.

...Perhaps those infamous myths will be familiar to people drawn into the crowd, perhaps not, but it seems that the "Witch of Betrayal's" punishment is perhaps somewhat justified, doesn't it?

She doesn't look up as she's approached, settling for scowling at the ground.]

...Whatever you intend to say, get it over with.


b) Caster in the Crowd

[After the 'events' of the previous few days, Caster was in a foul mood- having tumbled right into the angry phase of her grief, and with no idea where to throw those feelings. Perhaps it was lucky, then, that there was a convenient person in the stocks she could throw rotten fruit at.

Sure, she didn't exactly have much physical strength behind her throws, but the emotion sure was there. It didn't matter what the person in the stocks had done, she didn't care. She'll be directing her words either to the poor victim, or to anyone in the crowd who seems intent on intervening with her rage.]

Ha...is something the matter? Did you think I would care what crimes have been done...!

Day 3 (tw self injury intention)

Hmph... I don't care how much wine you offer me. I'm not interested in your deal.

[Well, that's what she'd said at first. After all, being promised endless Georgian alcohol sure was tempting in her current mindset, but this deal seemed extremely sketchy. She was not going to fall for that.

...Until they mentioned the sacrifice was to Dionysus. One of the Greek Pantheon.

That...made things difficult. The last thing she needed was to anger one of the Gods. So, despite her earlier assertion, Caster drew her twisted ritual dagger and eyed it steadily-]

So that's what this is about...Very well. I understand.

Day 5 (tw nsfw/violence)

a) Siren's trap

[Caster's sanity had been on shaky ground since the news from Saber- and despite the fact that she had dealt with Sirens before, despite the fact that this world had shown her countless illusions of her fiancé since she arrived...

As soon as she saw the naked man in the pool, absently singing a chant of sorts she remembered the monks at the temple singing- the dagger slipped from Caster's grip and clattered to the floor. She barely managed to voice his name, voice grief-stricken.]

S-Souichirou-sama- Souichirou-sama-!

[The man glanced up, offering his hand to her as she rushed toward him. Even if some small part of her knew this was fake, she didn't care, and she'd lash out at anyone who got in her way.]

"Caster. You've had a tough time of things here, haven't you...?"


b) Captured

[Of course there's a not-insignificant chance that the Siren managed to drag Caster away to it's lair, and was very amused with it's new mage-pet. Such a corrupt human!

...Caster wasn't sure how long she'd been stuck in a cage in this cavern for, but was looking for any opportunity to break her way out. Especially when the Siren took the chance to start prodding at her ears.]

Touch my ears again and I will curse every last one of you...!!

[At least with the yelling it would be easy enough to find her?]

Day 6 (tw murderous intentions)

[How had she even got here? Well...it didn't matter. She didn't care anymore.

As soon as the old man gave Caster and the person sitting opposite her the challenge she could hardly help but laugh- an unhinged, shaky laugh. What sort of a joke was this?]

Haha...hahahaha! This has to be some sort of joke- do you really think we'll humour your ridiculous games?!

[If it came down to it though...there was probably a way she could manipulate her partner into drinking the poison instead of her-]

Day 0 (Closed to Saber)

[From time to time, the thoughts about what had happened after her memories ended back home floated to the surface. She'd spoken to a few people who'd learned of their futures since then and-

She couldn't help her mind going back to when she ran into Saber when she'd first arrived in the world. And the question she couldn't will herself back then to ask.

What had happened, after her death? Surely the other Servants would have let Souichirou-sama be- he wasn't a threat without being empowered by her magic after all. But the doubt never quite left her...

If they were to be put to trial, she needed to put that doubt to rest first. And so, she called Saber out to meet her- saying that they needed to talk about the Grail War.

...Caster sat outside the library to wait. Hopefully she wouldn't be too long.]
