[ Since the nudibranchs causing problems for the underwater village are quite dangerous from what he's heard and read on them, Akira figures out that going underwater completely alone might be dangerous. Actually, he managed to scout one (1) crab with his animal magic, but still, it would be nice to have someone else there.

That's when he spots a boy on the shore with the same underwater breathing potion Akira has got earlier. ]

Hey, would you mind if I joined you? This little guy's with me—oh.

[ It looks like the crab he convinced to join him found a knife, nice. ]

[ gran takes a moment to stare at the crab with the knife.

yep, he’s seen weirder. he looks back at akira with a nod. ]

I don’t mind. I would appreciate the help, actually. There’s only so much I can do with alchemy, after all.

Alchemy? That's cool. I'm pretty sure you could do amazing stuff.

[ Gran what did your protag eyes see... ]

[ The crab is clearly ready, considering that it raises the knife high. Akira holds his own in his hand as well. ]

[ gran pats the sword at his waist, and then looks over his shoulder for one final check on his robot bell familiar, joy. joy was banned from this mission so at least he was following orders. ]

I have everything I need, more or less.

[ he eyes the crab with his knife at the ready. at least it showed enthusiasm? ]

[ Akira steps into the water and pulls out the Underwater Breathing potion he's got and drinks all of it, wincing when he reaches the bottom of the flask. ]

How about we grab something to eat after we're done here?

[ He'll definitely need to get rid of the aftertaste of that potion. ]

I hope something is still open at this hour.

[ Avalon's Denny equivalent, perhaps...? ]

[ gran does the same, making a face as soon as he’s done with the potion. no time for complaining though, as he starts walking deeper and deeper into the water. ]

Definitely. I’m going to need something to get rid of that taste. … Maybe I can make something similar, but much better tasting.

[ he tucks that thought for another time. there was a quest to do! ]

I’m pretty sure something is. If not, we can just get something from the convenience store. [ it was totally an excuse to explore one, but it was an honest option as well. ]

[ Maybe they can even heat up their food there—Akira shakes his head, trying to focus on what they have to do. The crab is bravely wielding the knife in one pincer and Akira's hair in the other. ]

Wait, is that—

[ Looking nudibranchs up online definitely helps with identifying them, even if the group is still quite far away. Their bright colors are no good for being stealthy, at least. ]

They might look for food. And...we're food. Any ideas?

Round them up and then cut through all of them in one go, or just blast them with something big.

[ it made the most sense to him. despite him having a handle on his sword, he pulls out two vials from his pocket. ]

I accidentally made an explosive by mixing these two together, so if you want, that’s also an option.
