Honey Over Vinegar (TDM) – first week of May
- [ Trees that grow cute cookies ripe for the pickin' isn't exactly the wildest thing that Stella's seen in Avalon so far, but it is probably the thing that has inspired the most glee in her. Because... come on. Picking cookies from trees. It's straight up like something out of a picture book for kids. She loves it.
She's pretty diligent about picking as many as she can, with the novelty of picking cookies off trees being more than enough to keep her on task. It's taking an absolutely herculean effort to not crunch down some of these cookies, though, and partway into the tournament, her stomach gives a pretty hearty rumble and she whines to herself. ]
Ohmigod, this is like torture! I'm gonna starve out here. I just know it.
[ Stella manages, presumably, not to starve out there and drags herself through the rest of the tournament without too much fuss. The instant she gets the okay to start eating cookies, though? Homf. She hoovers up like three or four of them at top speed. She's starving.
Fortunately, she not quite greedy enough to demolish all those cookies by herself, so she'll be sidling up to people through the rest of the day, brandishing her basket of cookies at them. ]
Hey, d'you wanna share some of these with me? I'm gonna get majorly sick if I try and eat them all by myself, so...
Holo, Goodbye (Quest) – second week of May
- [ The idea of a rainbow-coloured holographic river full of fairies is so comically Stellacore that she probably would've been off like a shot the instant she heard about this regardless. But the details of the quest are what really give her pause. She's made some good friends here in Avalon and having somebody not just from home but another one of the Prism Maidens here has done a lot to keep her on an even keel. But then sometimes she sees stuff like this and thinks... wow, she misses home. She really misses her dad.
So it's that more than anything, really, that gets her down to the riverbed. She's got a bag for collecting cool rocks and her phone ready for taking pictures and videos and she's ready to go all out. If you happen to be hanging around as well, prepare to have Stella suddenly pop up in your vicinity, looking charged up and determined. ]
You're not busy, right? Could you give me a hand? Help me find some really cool looking rocks! Like, maybe some that have some really cool holo stuff going on or ones that have weird shapes. Just some really cool rocks!
[ You heard the girl.
When she's not going through rocks to try and find the One Perfect Rock to return to the quest giver and her grandma, she's darting around, taking photos and videos here there and everywhere to try and capture as much of the phenomenon as she can. In fact, she gets so enthused about it that in the midst of trying to get a particularly Cool Shot, she looses her footing on the rocks she's balanced herself on and just sort of pratfalls right into the river with an enormous sploosh. Idol down! ]
Phoenix Roost – all through May
- [ If you're a regular at the Phoenix Roost then Stella will very quickly have become a familiar face with how often she turns up to drink fancy coffee, eat baked goods and leech off the wifi. She'll park herself in an out-of-the-way table for the day and tappy-tap away at the secondhand laptop she's picked up but it's not entirely clear what she's working on, given that she tends to keep to herself a bit while she's here.
Usually she seems like she's having a relatively okay time, but right now it seems like whatever little project she's working on has been stalled. She's staring deadeyes at her screen with a furrowed brow and furiously chewing on the straw for her disgustingly sugary drink in a futile attempt to redirect her frustration.
Eventually she grooooaaans and scoots her chair back a bit so she can rub at her eyes. Evidently, staring down whatever she's doing isn't actually solving whatever problem she's having. She looks around the cafe and immediately upon spotting someone In Range, she begins to wave them over. ]
Hey, excuse me! Could you come over here real quick? I've been working on this for like, a week, and I just don't even know how it looks anymore. I need a fresh set of eyes! So just tell me what you think!
[ She tilts her laptop screen back a bit to give a better view of her work. It's a poster or a flyer or something called the "Avalon Performers Association" that lists some days and times and information and all that good stuff about the little group Stella's been putting together.
It's... serviceable, but the fact that she's gone for a rainbow colour scheme, even one in pastel, is a little much. It definitely has some Graphic Design Is My Passion energy. ]

For the quest, no?

Thankfully, with the way Stella's expression immediately brightens as she nods, she's got more than enough sunshine for the both of them. ]
Yeah! They said just one would be fine, but... [ She trails off for a moment and while her smile doesn't fade, it does grow a touch more solemn. It's definitely not an expression that suits her. ] If it might the be the last time, I wanna make sure it's really special, you know?
no subject
Perhaps she thinks of the quest giver's reason for it: that this may be the last opportunity to hold such brilliant phenomena within the palm of her hand. As always, Stella's heart is hopelessly pure.
Somnus steps towards the stream where she gathers the holographic rocks. ] I shall assist you. Have you criteria for the ones you choose?

Holo, goodbye
And by sniff out, we mean that somewhat literally, as she's down on all fours, eyes to the ground, looking for rocks closely. She's so into it, she only looks up, doesn't stand, as she hears Stella's request.]
I'd love to help! Two heads are better than one, right?
no subject
[ She gives a little fistpump to emphasize her dedication to the task. She's been at it for long enough that she's pretty sure the day's going to run out before she gets everything prepped. So, recruiting another pair of hands it is! ]
I managed to find one that looked kinda like a crescent moon, so I thought I'd see if I could find some that look like... you know, stars and diamonds and hearts and stuff like that!

[That would sound almost charming if Akira weren't on all fours right now. Immediately, however, she sets to work, eyeing the stones and whatever she thought might work.]

Honey Over Vinegar (Lucy)
Lucy pats the spot next to where she's currently sitting.]
Sure, I was planning on sharing some of mine anyway, and it looks like you have some cookie types that I don't and vice versa.
[She's also already put some aside to give to her boyfriend later.]
So, how did you collect your sweets?
no subject
Then we can trade! I wanna save a couple of each so my roomie can try them, but you can take whichever ones you want.
[ So generous! ... but only because she's already eaten her fill. ]
Not gonna lie though, I kinda just winged it. I was just having way too much fun picking cookies off trees so I just went ham on it and hoped for the best.
no subject
[She almost thought about using her prehensile blood tendril too, but decided she was too inexperienced to ensure that none of the blood got on the cookies. Thank goodness!]
Speaking of animals, got any of those frosted animal cookies? You know, the pink and white ones with the sprinkles? I've grown fond of those during my time here.

Yeah! Two is better than one, I hope this gives her exactly what she wanted! The best one yet!
honey over vinegar
[With a giant basket of cookies too? Well, Venti isn't one to turn away free food. So, he peeks into the basket to start selecting one for himself.]
I would hope you wouldn't eat all of these on your own. Why do you have so many in the first place? Your poor cheeks.
no subject
[ Only 'probably' because Stella knows full well that her eyes are bigger than her stomach. ]
For real, though, I'd be majorly sick if I tried to chow down on all these, so take as many as you like! Oh, but leave the purple ones, they've got somebody's name on 'em.
no subject
Seize the day as they say! I hope you don't mind if I help myself to a few, then! Thank you!
[Because who refuses free food? Not him! He takes a good handful of them and nibbles on one casually.]
Not bad for a cookie that grew on a tree?

holo, goodbye;
At the moment, though, she's just puttering around looking through rocks, shoes and socks neatly set in the grass. The water is, admittedly, very distracting, and when someone calls out to her she flails a little before recovering her balance, turning to look at her and checking for a moment at the bright pink hair- nope, not Maria. Still, she smiles and (carefully) turns to face her.]
Mm, no, I'm not terribly busy. I can help! I'm looking anyway, of course, but maybe together we can find really good ones? Some of these shapes and patterns are wild already.
[A teardrop is perhaps not the most interesting shape, but it's better than being a plain old rock-looking rock, so she's holding onto it. The holography flowing in waves across it certainly doesn't hurt.]
no subject
[ She plants her fists on her hips and nods confidently to herself then gives Miku a grin. ]
Anyway, I'm Stella! Thanks for helping out. I know picking up rocks isn't like, the most exciting thing in the world but I figure it'll go faster between the two of us!
no subject
[Miku giggles at Stella's antics; she's definitely peppy and it's a nice groove to get into. Hibiki is upbeat but this is like a whole different scale.]
I'm Miku. It's nice to meet you, Stella! I keep meaning to get out and make some new friends, so this is... nice.

[ She sounds mildly disappointed but not exactly surprised – or maybe resigned is more the right word for it. Then she turns to squint again at her own work and makes a little noise of disgust. ]
Ugh, you're right. It's kind of a lot, huh?

You tried a darker font colour?
( Kate usually goes for brighter colours, rather than pastels, but the background isn't terrible. maybe all that's really needed is to balance it out with a different font?
she's trying here, and the proof is in the way she slides into the chair next to Stella to get a better look. )

The meeting people part of that is why she's out at the part today, sat under one of the pagodas and fiddling around on her phone as she waits for Chris. They've been chatting back and forth for a bit, mostly about music group stuff, but now they're actually meeting up about it. Chris has been learning violin and Stella being Stella has decided she absolutely wants to see this in person.
She glances up from her phone briefly and spots Chris approaching then breaks out into a grin and leaps to her feet. ]
Heeeeey, Chris! Over here, over here!
Re: closed starter
[Chris is somewhat nervous about performing for someone else; she's very much a beginner, after all, only having taken some lessons in Lydian before deciding to commit to it here. Nevertheless, she promised Stella, and showed up at the agreed upon time, carrying her instrument in the bag she'd gotten around the time she'd rented it.]
Hey Stella. I didn't keep you waiting long, did I?
no subject
[ Being a Prism Maiden managed to drill the importance of being punctual into her, if nothing else. ]
So that's the violin, huh? It's bigger than I was expecting! Or is that just the case and stuff?
