A Busy Wizard’s Winter (Open)
Who: Harry, Rose the Pygmy Puff, and YOU!
What: Café Work, Practicing Kinetic Magic, Snowball Fight, and Goblins!
When: All of December
Where: Avalon’s city center, training grounds, snowball fight area, and lower town
Warnings: None at the moment, will update this when something comes up
Teen Barista
It took some time for Harry to search high and low for a job that can allow teens as employees, but he is doing work as a part-time barista in the café within city center. Sure, it is not exactly what he has in mind back home, but this should do for now; patiently taking orders, brewing drinks, and dealing with customer concerns and complaints. Today is very busy at the moment with the lunch rush starting to happen and people are entering the café looking for a place to sit and something to eat. What’s more: there are seasonal drinks and foods made to tie into the Winter Solstice season and everyone will be salivating over them for sure. Luckily, his kinetic magic is also handy in getting plenty of tasks he has as a barista from delivering drinks and food to quickly getting spare change from the cash register while he multitasks on the fly during this time of the year.
Thankfully, the owner/manager is kind enough to let Rose accompany him at work, though he has been told not to let her run amok or eat up supplies while at work, which they both comply around the clock. You can catch him taking your order (or someone else’s order) or making drinks on the fly. Or say hi to Rose while she dances around on top of the food display case.
Mind Over Matter
It’s about time that he gets to put his newfound kinetic magic to good use. Upon arriving at the training area, he walks towards a clearing with Rose riding on his head this time, doing her best to maintain her balance while her master walks down the dirt and rock covered path. Putting down his backpack onto a fallen log which acts as a bench and with Rose hopping onto the log to sit on, he could see rocks, twigs, and fallen branches of various sizes on the ground.
Harry then does his best to visualize a magical force tossing those things at him like playing catch or chasing after a Golden Snitch during a round of Quidditch before flicking his right index and middle fingers towards a rock and when it flies towards him, he immediately catches it at once. Rose happily squeaks in joy as her master captures a rock. Soon his focus targets a fallen branch the size of his arm and he attempts to make it float by lifting his right hand up to the sky. The branch slowly rises up for a few meters and stay that way for around 3 minutes before it landed on the ground. Not by much, but at least he gets some practice while he’s at it.
Feel free to chat with him and practice magic together.
Trial and Icy Errors
Snowball fights sound like fun, that’s what Harry thought to himself when he sees Merlin sending a text about practising magic through snowball fights and he has been looking forward for any opportunities to get better at it. After all, he does have kinetic magic, so he has a bit of an advantage to slug some snowballs at people for fun. Thank Merlin that it happens to be on his day off from the café so he gets out there, carrying a basket full of shimmering rainbow snowballs and loose rainbow snow while Rose stays cozy inside one of his coat pockets with her head sticking out to see snow falling all over.
Harry then begins to float a trio of snowballs before maneuvering his right index finger to fling them into some trees for target practice and he soon discovers whenever he sends three snowballs at his selected target, they either expand in size faster than Aunt Marge after she had pushed him too far before bursting into rainbow snow slushie or bounce back and hit at random trees and rocks or sometimes flying back at him, the last one has him dodging them as swiftly as he can. In addition, he is also being careful with how much snow needed to pack into a snowball as he witnessed some people having trouble with snowballs with large sizes.
And to make things even more interesting, a group of mischievous people is flinging snowballs at him at random behind his back: Harry has to run fast and dodge faster from the mischievous snowball fight participants before he finds some shelter behind a large bush, all while carrying that basket of rainbow snowballs and snow. While he is busy sending snowballs to fly at his opponents, he then turns to the person next to him, saying, “Well, it looks like we got to stick together to scare them off.”
Jack Bredbeddle(s)
The quest sounds simple enough: get the mischievous Jack Bredbeddle and turn him over to the authorities. Harry knows this sounds like a great chance to help the locals out during his free time and days off. He has been gathering information from the people who witnessed Jack’s antics and pranks so he can keep up to date and track the man down. Soon enough, he has caught on to the pattern and was slowly inching closer to getting Jack and ending his pranking spree.
Luckily, he has been looking a close eye on the green tint in ‘Jack’'s sclera when he catches him trying to set some horses loose on the streets one mid-morning and yanks in him with levitation towards him so he can take the fellow to the authorities. Except that he wasn’t expecting that there would be more than ONE Jack Bredbeddle, as he soon finds himself getting swarmed by goblins: small green goblins, not like the goblins he was used to seeing back home, these ones are terrifying as they can get.
The young former wizard does his best to keep them at bay by pushing them away from him and the onlooking crowds as far as possible and hopefully into nets, although he does know he will need some help if he wants to end these goblins’ terror on the people.

So, he'll try for something else.]
Aki, get those goblins off him!
[And the Griffin charges forward with a loud screech!]

Thanks for coming in to help, Tsuna. For a minute, I thought I was a goner the moment the Bredbeddle disguise begins to wear off. Didn’t anticipate goblins to be behind all of this.
(One goblin thinks it was a good idea to attack Harry as he meets up with Tsuna, only to be greeted with a rolling barrel Harry sends out with kinetic magic and getting knocked out by it.)

[He does wish he could do more but his magic is only so effective right now. Still, he's activated the fire on both hands. It's weird to be in combat like this.]
It looks like there were more of them to.

(Many people scramble for their lives while local authorities evacuate them from the area as swiftly as they could with the goblins coming after the boys.)
No wonder the authorities here had a hard time capturing Jack Bredbeddle: they were sharing the same identity to confuse people all around.

Sounds like it got pretty confusing.
So, I guess we've got to catch them all?
[This is going to be tough.]
no subject
I have a funny feeling that this is the case. To be fair, I haven’t seen goblins like the ones we’re dealing with before in my world.
Yeah, it looks like we have to catch them before everything gets out of control.
(Rose squeaks as she pokes her head out of his jacket pocket while trying to look out for any goblins attacking.)

[Granted he doesn't have the speed he's used to, and isn't the fastest individual, so we'll see how this goes.]

Can we call it a wrap?

So when she got to his register, it was hard to tell what she wanted when she asked only "is there a manager that I could speak to, please?"
Was she there to complain? Hard to tell, her voice was just loud enough to be heard, no louder, her voice not inflected any useful way.

“Hello. They’re currently doing some errands right now, but I will tell them about your concerns in a little bit and they’re inside the building, so you don’t have to take a long walk looking for them,” he replies, “Is there anything you’re looking for? Are you looking for employment in here?”
no subject
She looked disgusted now.

He is patiently listening to Kyoko’s talk, hoping that the manager will come to meet up with Kyoko so she can ask them for job openings. He also has to check on the community board if there are some theatre auditions for her to check on. But at least, he could have another co-worker to work with.

Luckily for the two of them, the manager does show up and sees Kyoko chatting with Harry about jobs, he then tells them about her being interested in applying to work for the café, hoping that they would let her in.

After a moment Alec says:
"What do you recommend?"
no subject
Seriously, no rush, Alec. Harry is patiently waiting for an answer.
(OOC: I’m borrowing some stuff from Starbucks Korea for this one, hehehe.)

"Why are there never any grownup drinks this time of year?"
The small...creature that seems to accompany the kid, perhaps as a familiar, bounces in Alec's field of vision and he stares at it a moment.
"And what do you call that?"
no subject
“Some of the drinks is targeted for a younger audience if you ask me: within the teens to young adults range, I saw some taking pictures of their orders before digging in,” he replies to him, “Maybe you can stick with a normal cup of coffee or a blended drink if you want to.”
no subject
That out of the way he hands the menu back. Beside him the grim whines but he doesn't seem to hear it.
"What do you make of this place?"

"Oi, any chance of getting a decent cup of coffee here??"
no subject
“Hello there, I can assure that we can provide you one right now, may I ask what kind of coffee you will be ordering?” he informs Crowley in a professional manner.

He spoke with a grumble as the job hunting front wasn't going as well for him.
"I can't afford anything else and no one out there seems to realize the benefits of hiring a demon... They just throw a wolfsbane sprig at you and slam the door."

Crowley drawled before almost lazily rolling his head to look out of the window at the Pooka, now known as Shadow, looking back in at him.
"Or its his fault. Demon and a Pooka. Not the sort anyone wants to associate with."
no subject
After getting an answer from them (he was expecting to hear a ‘No’ from them, but to his surprise, it is a yes), he then proceeds to brew a cup of coffee for Crowley and brings it to him.
“Here you go, didn’t expected to hear a yes from the manager, but they do offer free coffee too,” he tells the demon as he delivers the coffee.
