The girl waiting on the line was in a bright pink jumpsuit with a logo on the chest and larger on the back. She stood and waited patiently, her shoulders straight, her posture perfect. Her face was hard to read though. She spoke to no one else on line, keeping her hands folded in front of her perfectly, moving only when it was time to step forward. She didn't look happy, or unhappy for that matter.

So when she got to his register, it was hard to tell what she wanted when she asked only "is there a manager that I could speak to, please?"

Was she there to complain? Hard to tell, her voice was just loud enough to be heard, no louder, her voice not inflected any useful way.
