Procrastination at its best
Who: Sokka & open!
What: December Catch all
When: December
Where: Exploring Camelot, mostly
Warnings: Will update if needed
Relaxing, eating, exploring
[Sokka is exploring the place to his hearts content. There are a lot of new things for him to find and figure out. He's definitely not ignoring anything, he's just curious about his surroundings.
His winger lemur friend, Momo, is also with him and eating whatever fruit he's handed with content 'prrp' noises.]
Yeah, this isn't so bad. I need to find a job and all, but for now life's pretty easy. And this place is really interesting.
[Sokka is eating a meat skewer while walking around, content as well with the meal choice he made.]
Training
[Finally! Sokka has entered the training grounds. He's not determined to train. Maybe he will actually become a magic user yet-
What is he doing with a black sword, one may ask. Well, he's training his sword skills, of course. Waving it around in specific stances and hitting some training dummies set up in the training grounds.
Once he's taken a break he moves onto practicing throwing his boomerang.
... yeah, looks like elemental magic is still being ignored.]
Arguing
I told you, I don't want to practice magic. Not right now! Go somewhere else!
[Sokka is walking away from his familiar, who is set on chasing his partner. He may be small but he is fast!]
Sokka, this is important. You have to accept you have these powers now-
No! Every time I do something, it's fire! If I know all the elements, why can't I do anything else?! Fix that and I might consider it.
If you just practice your fire, you will learn others too.
[Sokka stops. Sighs and looks at his tiny familiar.]
But why does it have to be fire of all things?

arguing
The familiar pleads with him and he, suddenly grateful for his own companion's silence, feeds his unicorn a piece of carrot. It looks offended, but takes it.]
You don't have the luxury of being picky about what you were given, you know.
no subject
I know. But elemental users should be able to choose what element they're training first, if you ask me.
no subject
[Caesar don't be RUDE to a kid.]
Your familiar is trying to help. I suggest you heed its advice.
no subject
I don't want to accidentally burn everything if I'm not ready enough.
no subject
[Don't be afraid of fire kid. It is what it is.]
If you need a partner to spar with, then practice with me. Right now.
Arguing
Why do they always have problems with fire? Fire Nation, Aang's problems with it, Zuko suddenly being all out of flames and so on. She crosses her arms and gives one very annoyed look at her brother, Katara could as well be saying the same things as the cub is saying to him.]
Sokka, you can't be serious about not practicing it.
no subject
Not you too. We saw what happened with Aang when he first started to practice fire. He wasn't ready. I'm not ready.
Training
But sometimes, he also spent some time watching the other people there. It's interesting, what you could learn just from observing. What caught his attention first was the boy's sword. He had never seen a sword that colour before.
Still, the whole thing was familiar in a way. He had practised the sword like this often when he'd been around this boy's age. (He assumed, anyway. Sometimes it could be hard to pin down someone's age just from looking.)
He was a little surprised to see that there wasn't any magic training going on but that boomerang...now that was interesting.
So, he walked closer.]
Excuse me. If I may bother you for a moment, I was wondering if you could tell me what that weapon was?
no subject
A boomerang. It's my trusty partner that always returns to me when I throw it. It's a very good weapon for long range.
[He throws it again to show how it knocks down a training dummy and returns.]
no subject
It's certainly convenient that it returns. Though I suppose unlike arrows you can't throw it again until it's returned.
[Still, he does seem impressed. He touched his chin thoughtfully.]
It would work well with certain types of magic, certainly.
no subject
[He's so very proud of his partner.
Then magic is brought to the table and he looks a bit more awkward.]
Oh, uh... yeah. Kinetic probably. You could guide its path.
no subject
[But compared to his enthusiasm with talking about the boomerang, this awkwardness about magic says quite a bit. Though was it nervousness or something else?]
Light and elemental magic could also be useful as a distraction or to make targets move in a certain direction, I think.
[Healing and alchemy...well, the former doesn't seem like it would work with this weapon and the latter he truly didn't know enough about.]

Of course she'd not tried it since she got her wings.
Still, her eyes were gazing down at the boy, amused. It was usually hard to get his brother to see a way other than magic to do things. But the whining was familiar anyway. Did this boy have a brother? If not he was clearly in desperate need of one. It was good for him she had so much practice now. At least... in her mind it was.

Her lips twisted into a quieter smile as she inched forward on her branch and let her legs dangle. Her tree bark slippers were in no danger of falling off, snug to her feet.
"Fire's like any other part of nature. Too much of it and other things die, to little... and other things die. Even the River Unceasing and the great forests understand that," she added. Then she considered. "My brother used to have issues with fire too. I guess if even he could learn, there is hope for anyone."
no subject
"Yeah, but fire destroys everything in its path. If someone handles fire wrong, think about the damage."

Eating and exploring
She had been walking as well, but stopped when she heard him. "You're looking for a job too...?" she asked but she trailed off as she saw Momo, her eyes going huge and wide and shining. Much the way Sokka's did at times. "Is... are you a fairy?" she asked the creature in a voice much softer and more awestruck than the one she'd spoke to Sokka with.
no subject
"Oh... no. He's a winged lemur, a kind of animal from my world. His name is Momo." He says this and eats some of his meat skewer. "He can't even talk."

Training
She was curious to see who might be out here training with such fervor.
So she tucked her notes away and approached the young man, politely waiting until he was between forms. She clapped lightly as she closed the gap between them, intrigued at the foreign display of swordsmanship. It was very different than the forms practiced in Hyrule.
"You are quite disciplined," the princess praised, having seen many a knight training hard in similar situations.
((Ooc: Space sword? What dat? Also she's such a nerd and lmao... she has no idea of the level of laziness Sokka is capable of...))
no subject
"Thanks..! Got to keep my sword skills sharp so I don't disappoint my Master, if he ever shows up here." He's... not quite sure if one could call him disciplined normally. Now he was just ignoring the actual training he was supposed to do.
no subject
"I apologize if i have intruded..." she started to say when he spoke up, seemingly more honored than offended.
"Your master?" she questioned curiously, "So you are a servant then?"
She didn't mean to cause any offense and her face showed her honest confusion. She had more questions she wanted to ask as well (if he would let her), about his attire, about the strange sword and his fighting style and about how he knew his 'master' might appear here (She may be hoping others she knows might show as well).
The more she thought about the prospects, the more the interest showed on her face, but she politely refrained from sending a barrage of questions his way.
