April Catch-All [OPEN]
🧙 WHO: Tokoyami and YOU!
⚔️️ WHAT: New arrival for the month, getting settled, CameCon shenanigans
🕒 WHEN: All month
🗺️ WHERE: Various
⚠️ WARNINGS: N/A, will adjust as needed!
Soaking In Your Arrival
[Arriving in a splash of water wasn't the most shocking thing. Nor was being spoken to by the Lady of the Lake, or even being assisted to shore by strange-looking manatees. As a hero, one has to be prepared for all sorts of strange, unusual situations. No, the most shocking thing for Tokoyami came after he landed on shore, and wrung out his clothes of water.]
What a strange place... I suppose we will have to gather information, won't we Dark Shadow?
[Normally he would expect a witty reply, or a nod, or a "uh huh!", or something from his Quirk. But instead he's met with absolute silence.]
Dark Shadow..?
[Tokoyami looks around for his wayward shadow, but when he finds no trace of it? That's when the shock sets in. Why couldn't he feel his Quirk? Where was Dark Shadow?!]
[Meanwhile, further down the beach, some other newcomers might notice a dark cloak, most likely washed ashore ahead of its owner. The cloak belongs to Tokoyami, and peeking out from under it is a strange, shadowy creature who strangely enough looks close to tears.]
Fumikageeeee!! Where are yooou??
Caravans to Camelot
[Once Tokoyami finds his hero costume (and has a somewhat tearful reunion with Dark Shadow), he's ready to go to the city like everyone else. That involves a caravan ride, strangely enough, but so many strange things have already happened that Tokoyami isn't sure if he should question them or not. He's just going to go along for now and try to piece together this mystery.]
[At least, that's what he's trying to do. He's trying to look over his new smartphone and gather information that way, but his attention keeps being drawn to the two beings he is with. One is Dark Shadow; a lot smaller than normal, and no longer connected to him, but still with him physically. The other is a strange, spectral raven that had found him not long after his arrival and kept following him. Apparently Dark Shadow didn't like this, and was scowling at the bird spirit. Said bird spirit cawed indignantly, which made Dark Shadow's "hackles" rise. The tension between the two was palpable, to say the least.]
[Tokoyami can only sigh, bringing a hand up to pinch the bridge of his "nose".]
Both of you, please don't get into a fight...
Around Camelot
[For the first few days, Tokoyami spends much of his time just trying to get used to this new city he's found himself in. Sometimes Dark Shadow accompanies him, and sometimes not; that in itself is a strange concept for him to accept. He can be found running all kinds of errands, exploring the city, or finding a quiet spot to practice his new magic, whether it be manipulating small shadows or trying to communicate with the local wildlife. It's not the same as having a Quirk, but at least he has something he can draw on for example.]
[However, it's also possible he might end up getting lost, the poor bird-headed boy looking quite confused at his unfamiliar surroundings. He knows he looks a little strange, so he will be as polite as possible as he approaches someone to ask for directions.]
Pardon me, but is it possible to ask for some assistance? I seem to have been turned around and I'm not sure which street I am on anymore.
CameCon
[A convention seems strange in a place full of magic like this, but it doesn't take long for Tokoyami to be intrigued by the spectacle of it all. He always did enjoy conventions, even back home, though here it looks like there is a lot more emphasis on fantasy and magic than the superhero-themed ones back home. Still, it draws Tokoyami's attention, and he could be found wandering around the convention halls.]
[It's possible to find him in one of the vendor halls doing a little shopping. With so many things on display, he can't help but eye all the wares available. He can be found lingering around the stalls that sell more gothic and macabre items, like swords and gemstone skulls. He will definitely linger by anything with a "dark" theme to it, studying the details with rapt attention.]
Such exquisite craftmanship... truly an excellent work of dark art..!
[Or, perhaps you spot him at the LARPing station. It's open to the public to try out, so why not have a little fun? Whether you're an ally or opponent in the ring, you might see Tokoyami dressed up in some shadowy-looking armour; the kind that makes him look like a Black Knight from an anime or something. He holds himself with the same amount of confidence as well, his cape billowing as he points a plastic sword forward.]
Do you think you have what it takes to combat a disciple of darkness? Then step forward and challenge me in my domain!
[Is he acting? Is he being serious? Who can say. But he is having fun.]
Wildcard
[Got an idea you'd like to try out? Feel free to make your own starter, or message me via PM or on plurk at
pocketnoivern to plan something out!]

[He looks over the ring, perking up and nodding in agreement.]
Wonderful... wings of a fallen angel. A classic design. I think it would suit you well.

[ Crow beams widely, very pleased to find someone who gets it. He hasn't been bullied about his style either, but he's sometimes seen as a weirdo in his homeworld. People tend to conform to the status quo, and Crow doesn't really live his life according to that plan.]
I immediately thought of that as soon as I saw it! It totally fits my stage persona as a fallen angel from the heavens. I'm definitely gettin' it!
What's your name? I don't think I've seen you around.
no subject
Your stage persona? Are you a performer?
No, I only arrived here this month. My name is Fumikage. Fumikage Tokoyami.
no subject
[New friendship get! It's nice to be around like-minded people. Crow can get along fine with most folks, but not everyone gets his style choices or any of the dark-themed rhetoric he says now and then.
He grins widely, happy to brag about his band whenever he can. The other members aren't in Camelot, but that's okay, he'll make sure everyone is well-acquainted with their name. ]
Yeah! The name's Crow! I'm the lead singer and guitarist of a rock band called ShinganCrimsonZ!
no subject
[He answers simply, but there's a clear hint of pride and fondness in his voice. New friendship get!!]
What a striking name! What kind of music does your band create?
no subject
[His tails swish back and forth happy that Tokoyami likes the name. He really does have good taste! As for the music, Crow naturally goes into a small tangent about it. It only shows how passionate he is about his craft.]
And the message we want to convey through our music is within our name. ShinganCrimsonZ means the Crimson Mind's Eye. We want people to open their third eye and realize the stagnant world around them. Through our songful revelations, we want to ignite their sleeping souls to break through barriers, follow their passions and abandon expectations imposed by society. Got it?
[It's definitely a lot to take in and unexpected of a rowdy guy like Crow.]
no subject
I believe I understand what you're trying to say. And I must admit, it's very inspiring. You've certainly put a lot of thought into your image. I would definitely look your music up if I were able to.
[Alas, there's no Spotify here in Avalon, is there?]
no subject
[To be honest, he doesn't know much about branding and appealing to the masses. Though he feels if the overall theme is solid and they continue to incorporate it in their style and music, that's good enough.]
Well, I do have a CD of my band's music. I'm also doing solo performances at the Phoenix Roost, too! So you should come by whenever you have the chance!
[ Now Crow feels as if he's been talking Tokoyami's feathered head off, which is probably true.]
What about you? What are you passionate about?
no subject
[CDs are still cool! He'd like to listen to it if he can. Crow seems to be pretty neat, his music must be just as cool.]
Ah, well, I may not inspire others with music, but I do hope to aspire others when I become a pro hero. Heroes are a staple part of my world's society, and everyone has dreams of becoming a pro some day. It's my biggest dream to be a pro hero that others can rely on.
no subject
[He hasn't quite figured out how to do that yet. Though he needs to soon because people will want to buy his music at his performances.
As Tokoyami goes on to explain his life's goal, Crow is certainly impressed. Especially with the way his red eyes brighten at the noble endeavor.]
So your world revolves around heroes, huh? That's really cool! So does that mean you have a superpower?! What's your hero name?! Do you have a motif?!
no subject
[Even if Crow can't burn him a copy of the CD, he'd be happy to listen to it nonetheless!]
[The questions about his hero persona and motif makes Tokoyami perk up a little, and his chest puffs out just a little bit as he speaks.]
Of course. My Quirk, as we call it in my world, is Dark Shadow; a being made of shadows that I can use to cover myself with or attack others with. The hero name I've chosen for now is Tsukuyomi, since my Quirk powers are stronger in the dark. As for my motif, I do have my hero outfit here with me. Perhaps I can show you when I come to listen to your music.
no subject
Wow! That's sounds amazing! I need to see you in action one day!
[ His ears droop, slightly disappointed that he can't see the complete outfit right then, but it leaves something to look forward to whenever the teen comes over to listen to his music.]
Yes! Bring it!
[He considers something since they are on the subject of his superhero powers.]
So what kind of magic do you have here? Will you still be able to do shadow stuff?
no subject
[He hasn't fully mastered mimicking his Quirk with his magic yet, but he's working on it. It's a shame he can't exactly show Crow the extent of Dark Shadow as he could while it was a Quirk, but if Crow wanted to meet Dark Shadow himself... well, maybe something can be arranged.]
Fortunately, I am. The magic I possess is that of a darker alignment, and while I am not as skilled with it as I am my Quirk, I am learning some impressive feats with it. My secondary magic is animal magic.
no subject
[If Crow ever did get the chance to see Dark Shadow, he'd think it was pretty cool too.]
Nice! I also have Dark Magic as my main discipline and Blood as my secondary! If you ever want to practice your magic, let me know! I'm always looking for people with the same magic because it gives me ideas on how to use my own.
[Magic in his world works a bit differently, but he's always looking for inspiration from others to be more creative.]
no subject
[Birds of a feather?! That makes Tokoyami perk up.]
I won't say no to the opportunity to train with you. Any advice I can gain in utilizing my new abilities would be greatly appreciated.
[Quirks were usually so individualized that it was a little difficult to find someone who's Quirk matched your own who wasn't a member of your family. So having the opportunity to learn new ways to use his magic with others is definitely something he is interested in!]
no subject
[ Crow hasn't really had a chance to practice with someone of the same discipline as him. If Tokoyami's quirk is similar to his magic, then it would be exciting to see what the teen could do. The redhead could definitely give him pointers, but he's far from being an expert.]
We can learn from each other! Since you're a hero in training, you probably work well under pressure. I'd like to hone that skill!
[He doesn't have much of a brain to think on his feet, but he can at least use muscle memory to his advantage.]
Just let me know when you're free!
