(1)Trial and Icy Errors

[ Spotting the message from Merlin, Saber immediately sends a few more messages his way. Mostly along the lines of a demand for him to meet her and explain himself, or just for him to come down so she can give him a good smack (so basically a threat but whatever).

When she is inevitably not given an answer, she decides to take full advantage of this snow...

And then she gets beaned in the back of the head by a snowball, and suddenly "practice" becomes "a battle". ]

Who dares!?

[ Was it you who just beaned her with a snowball? Well then, expect her to immediately retaliate.

If you weren't someone who just instigated the King's competitive side, then you're probably a victim of it, as she's now running around with an all-too-competitive look on her face as she uses wind magic to send a volley of snowballs your way. ]

(2)Fogueria Quest (Combat Quest)

[ After much time, Saber's managed to locate where the Fogueria may be found. As a user of Elemental Magic, she's been told that she would be a good matchup against the fiery beast. While she's mostly practiced with wind, she may as well learn to use water now.

As she marches into the Land of Rot, however, she would definitely appreciate some help. While she may be the King of Knights, this land has most definitely robbed her of the vast majority of her abilities. She's unsure how powerful this beast is, so having anyone to help back her up in slaying this beast will be appreciated.

Perhaps she found you before marching in the direction of the Land of Rot, and you accepted? Either that or she saw you, knew you would be helpful, and dragged you along with her to fight a giant fire lion.

In any case, you are with Saber, and you're both in the territory of the Fogueria now. ]

(3)Foraged and Found (Closed to Rin)

[ Saber's main priority is obtaining knighthood. Even if she is not a King in this land, she is still a Knight... however right now, she is only claiming to be a Knight.

And that simply won't stand, will it?

However, even though this is the case, it seems she's been dragged along to something else entirely. ]

Rin... I understand that having a partner for a quest is certainly important... but surely there are others who could help you better than I?

[ Rin is technically no longer Saber's Master, but still she felt obligated to follow Rin. However, obligation isn't the reason Saber's here. Saber is here, standing in front of an enchanted sleigh, because Rin was oddly insistent about it and dragged Saber here before she could protest.

It hasn't crossed her mind once that this could be anything more than a Quest. Still, here she is, dressed for winter (and not in her armor), about to ride a Sleigh. ]

You use your magic as though you have only recently begun to discover them.

[ She smiles calmly, her competitive spirit quelled. She shows no signs of animosity. ]

[Somewhere in the back of Ken's mind, he was screaming. While there was nothing to be ashamed about, it didn't stop him from feeling frustrated]

That and I'm not sure how animal magic is suppose to work here. I know I can turn things into animals but I don't know anything else outside of it.

[ Hm... indeed, the magic here is strange. While Saber is proficient with her magic now, she started out barely able to do anything with her magic besides haphazardly generate elements.

If Ken has animal magic... she's not exactly the best person to ask. She wields elemental magic, and in life she was never much of a mage in the first place, so she's not that great of a teacher for this. ]

Hm... I can imagine that kind of struggle. Unfortunately, I am a user of elemental magic, so tips I have are scarce...

[ A pause. ]

However, proficiency with this magic is something that will come with practice. As you continue to train with your magic, I'm certain you will obtain a greater understanding of it.

[He figured his magic was something he needed to get use to. For all he knew, animal magic meant talking to them and getting them follow him. While he was use to Koromaru doing that back home, it was another to do that here.

How was he going to get animals to listen to him?]

I hope so, this kind of magic isn't what I'm use to. It's a little odd to get animals to comes and listen to me.

[No, it wasn't but he didn't want to say anything about his involvement with a certain dark hour back home]

[ Indeed, not everyone is suited for animals, and while is isn't actually odd for Ken (considering Koromaru), it's not like Saber knows that. ]

Well, perhaps I can be of some assistance? I once took care of a lion cub, you know.

[ A fond memory from her lifetime. ]

[From here, Ken raised an eyebrow at her. He didn't want to show impressed he was but he couldn't help it. It was cool to see someone taking care of lions!]

That's impressive, how did you do that?

Well, it was only for a month. However I remember that time fondly. It was energetic and often biting or scratching, but when he showed attachment...

[ She smiles. The time spent taking care of that cub remains as a very happy memory in her life, even after she became king. ]

[whatsamada]

It sounds like you're use to taking care of animals and especially if you didn't mind all of that.

[Although, there was a hint of sadness behind his voice. He did wonder how Koromaru was doing back home.]

[ Well, she wouldn't say that... though she does know how to tend to horses. However, that's simply because she's a knight. ]

Hm... perhaps, though the only other animal I've handled is a horse.

[ She notes the sadness in his voice. Perhaps there's an animal he misses? It would make sense that he obtained animal magic if he cared for animals back home. ]

Tell me, what is your name?

Even if it just two, I still think you know how. A lion and a horse are two very different animals.

[Although, he does have to wonder what kind of places she went to. If she had to take care of a lion cub and a horse? She must had a pretty interesting life]

But my name is Ken Amada, it's nice to meet you, miss!

My name is Artoria Pendragon. However, it may be a bit simpler to call me "Saber". It's nice to meet you, young man.

[ It's somewhat funny. If Ken takes a closer look, Saber looks only a few years older than him (15). She speaks with an air of maturity despite this. ]

Pendragon? Are you related to Arthur here by any chance?

[As far as Ken could tell, she didn’t know why she wanted to refer herself as Saber. While she was slightly older than him, he was already reminding him of someone he knew.

And she definitely shouldn’t be messed with]

I have never met the Arthur of this world. However, the fact remains that we share names. However, I do hope to eventually meet him.

[ She says seriously. The King Arthur of this world... she's curious to see what kind of person he is. ]

[whatsamada]

That's strange, I wonder why you share the same last name. Maybe it's just a coincidence.

[Although, it does make him wonder a little about her own world. Either way, that doesn't stop him from smiling]

But Saber-san, what do you know about this world so far? It seems kind of interesting but there still a lot I don't know about it myself.

Hm... well, it may be a bit much to call it a coincidence. We share more than just names, from what I can tell.

As for this world, well...

[ She explains the situation as well as she can. Their situation is definitely bizarre, but it is what it is. ]

[whatsamada]

[It was a good thing Ken was use to people explaining everything to him. Between all the chaos from home and in Inaba, it only seem natural someone would tell him here in this world.

The more he listened, the more he tried to put everything together]

I see. That is a rather odd way of reliving the old legend. I can't complain, things could be much worse.

[That and he could be a knight too! However, he wasn't going to say that out loud]

Indeed. For the most part, things in this world are rather peaceful.

[ She appreciates that. A land of peace is what she strived for, after all. ]

I wonder how long that's going to turn out...

[He mumbled to himself. Maybe it was because he just recently came back from his own adventures of fighting but he wasn't too hopeful the peace was going to last]

I'm not going to lie, it does make me worried. [Or maybe he was being too much of a stick in the mud?]

[ That is something Saber doesn't have an answer for. To be honest, she wishes there were more details. Things she'd have to ask once she meets this world's King Arthur. ]

I understand. However, we will get through this, of that I am certain.

[whatsamada]

I sure hope so.

[He said chuckling to himself. While he might be without anyone whom he knew here, he just hoped everything would turn out okay.

By the way, you think you can help me with training? It seems like you know how to fight.

[ A request to help with training...?

There's a nostalgic feeling in that request, so Saber nods her head. ]

You wish to train with me? If your request is genuine, then I have no problems with training you. What exactly is your weapon of choice?

[ What she fails to mention, however, is the fact that while her skill with a sword is unparalleled... her skill at teaching leaves much to be desired... though it is still worth something. ]

I use a spear to fight but if that isn't okay, I can try to find something else.

[Although, he wasn't sure how well he could fight without it. Where was Akihiko around to help him with fist fighting?]

No, there is no problem at all. A spear is an excellent choice as a weapon. though I myself prefer the sword, I have used a spear often in my life, particularly in jousting as well.

[ She also did use Rhongomyniad, her sacred spear, to defeat Vortigern during her life... though, she doesn't have that with her. ]

[whatsamada]

Then that's perfect, I wouldn't mind training against you with your sword! I'm used to fighting against one anyway so it'll be great for the both of us.

[He said before looking at his own spear. It was funny, he didn't know how to feel knowing he would fight against someone who used a sword again...

To think, he would feel a genuine smile for the first time since he arrived here.]
