[ A quest to take down monsters? To test his skills through sheer combat? Like anything else is going to really appeal to Bakugou, let's be real. Now that he has more than one magic type to master, it's more important. His philosophy is that he would best develop under pressure. Through practical means rather than being tied up at the training grounds.

It's with a feral expression that he takes on this task, cracking his knuckles as he dips into the labyrinth. ]

DON'T BOTHER SENDING ANYONE ELSE! JUST WAIT AND SEE!

[ Time for a classic RNG adventure! Just how far will our heroes get, because Bakugou isn't actually going in there alone is he? ]


(  These Bumbles Don't Bounce )

You're going about this shit all wrong.

[ So says the blonde just sitting there with his hands in his pockets. Bakugou doesn't seem to be offering any assistance and will not elaborate unless asked further. Instead he just keeps watching with judging expression. This isn't something that is going to really be something done for "notoriety" so it's not something he's interested in doing. ]

Don't you have any brains in that head of yours?

[ It's not that, really. Not everyone is a nerd like Katsuki secretly is and has weird personality quirks. The reality is that Bakugou knows things that people wouldn't expect for him to. This is just one of those things... ]


( Vital Venoms ) **SKIP FOR SPIDERS**
[ Isn't spider venom a pretty common ingredient used in magic and potions in general? So it's not surprising that there's a quest to go out to collect some since apparently they are getting a little too active and coming out and saying hi to people. That's why he's out here and not because a certain nerd would also probably want some but likely get bitten in the process to deal with them even though this usually isn't something he'd be bothered with doing. ]

The hell does it matter if they are alive or not? Venom works regardless of the host still breathing!

[ Wouldn't it just be easier to collect the venom producing parts and bring them in? Katsuki is kind of grumbling about it when, wouldn't you know, he is the one walking right into one of those icky sticky webs! ]

( Very Friendly Vines )

BACK OFF!

[ Anyone else coming into the forest is going to be met with a rather interesting sight - Bakugou dangling in the air by the ankle. One of those vines has wrapped itself around the area. Missing people is definitely something to look into but he hadn't anticipated this. ]

Shitty plants!

[ He blasts at the vine with a weakish fireball. Enough to be let go - only for another one to grab him by the arm. ]

Argh!

[ To be honest... Bakugou is going to keep trying to break free with sheer force and destructive magic. ]


( Double Trouble )

[ Let's say you're enjoying your day in Camelot City. Maybe you're having a good time shopping or eating at one of the cafes in the area. It's a great day and even better weather. It should be spent outside, right? Yeah, well... There's a loud blast that's going to totally ruin the ambience. Smoke billows into the air and being thrown from it is one Bakugou Katsuki. He rolls across the ground a little, looking a bit roughed up as he catches himself. Pushing himself up, he coughs.

That's when his opponent then launches themselves from the dust cloud, another fireblast obscuring everyone's vision. Bakugou throws up a barrier to block the incoming attack - smoke once again billowing all around them...

And when the smoke clears... It's not one Bakugou Katsuki that stands there. It's two. ]

[Don't mind Homura as she angrily frees herself, using wind magic to push away from him and the vines. Least he wasn't like Hanzo; being hated was better than the alternative in her world. Still good motivation to keep running and try to forget about that.

By the time they were out of range, she sighed, shaking her head. Part of her wanted yell. The other part though kept biting back her tongue given his help and actually listening to her, even if it clearly pissed him off. She gives him a brief stare, before moving to the spot she set up under a large tree, digging into her bag for some bandages to tend to her arms. Thanks to the blood magic, they were still lightly bleeding. Couldn't waste fire magic to seal them up.]

The hell made them go nuts in the first place?

[ Normally, he would respect those wishes. Hell, he could even understand them. However, sometimes people just got to suck up their pride and just deal. ]

BE GRATEFUL I CAUGHT YOUR ASS AND DEAL WITH IT!

[ You go to be a decent person and your arm still gets bitten off. Whatever. If she wants to be like that, Bakugou can just drop her and then she can figure out how to move when exhausted and at the limit. It's not like he hadn't tried, right?

Which means he's about ready to storm off when she asks her question. It makes him pause, sort of. ]

Then how about we dig into a question you should be able to answer: why the hell did you try to protect me as I left your ass hanging?

[Not like she left him for death, but given their growing animosity...well it did confuse her.]

Not like I left you to die. Those vines just grab people and nothing more. You could have busted out at anytime, and you did.

But they do do more than that. There are people missing after coming here.

[She couldn’t help but be suspicious of his claims. Still, she wasn’t here all the time; had to resupply and sleep anywhere else that wasn’t just a damp tree, and even then, her familiar would rouse her should someone enter and be gone for an hour or so. She shows some level of interest.]

Didn't you ask around at all? Or even read the request shit? Yeah, people are missing. Last known whereabouts happen to be around here.

[ So of course he is going to come out here and look. Then there are vines that seize people? Come on. Putting two and two together isn't hard. ]

No, because I just came out here to train somewhere that feels more my style. If people get snagged up, it ain't while I'm here, and even if it is, they could be up there for hours yelling and still nothing happens.

[Not a complete jerk (barring exceptions), but she figured others could handle this if there were real issues. But...]

If they are disappearing, it's likely around night or super early morning when I'm not here.

...and why do you even care anyway? People screw up once and you're louder than an angry mom. Hell, even willing to hit harder than them.

[ He won't since he has a mother that will happily beat him up while yelling. They are cut from the same cloth. Still, the words "why do you even care" really rub him the wrong way. ]

You're damn annoying, you know that? Like I need a reason to save someone! What do you think all my training is even for!?

[ Yeah, he's not the best at relating to people. He's abrasive and rude. But he wouldn't be doing this if he wasn't in it to save people at the end of the day. And he doesn't need any reason to justify that desire! ]

[ Which means that if she's settled? He's probably going to head back towards the vines. ]

[Had Homura more energy, she might have snapped. But talking to him was getting nowhere, barring more clues about these disappearances. Him leaving actually did give her an idea.]

Okay whatever. Go get captured, or punch the kidnapper in the face, and I'll just follow you after that then. I should be recharged by then anyway.

[She imagined he had to be low on magic. Maybe not as much as her, but she anticipated a repeat of the situation. At least by nightfall, maybe his magic would recover and he'd calm down. Till then, back to bandaging her arms and having some food in her bag to recover from blood magic usage.]

[ Now it's time for Bakugou to stop. Turn. Look at the girl that doesn't really seem to give a damn about anyone other than herself at the moment.

At least that is the interpretation here. ]

What do you care...

[She takes a few seconds to down her bottled water; even she knew not to speak with her mouth full, mostly. Just before staring at Bakugo. No emotion really, just staring. She was just tired of this, and magic fatigue wasn't helping. Anger had turned to numbness.]

I cared enough to free almost everyone that came my way, assuming they couldn't just do it themselves. I cared enough to listen to you despite our fight. I cared enough to try and bail your ass when things went crazy. I cared enough to endure your constant insults and whining. I cared enough to give up a decent training spot. I even care enough to stay here to recharge and think of a plan, regardless of how much you hate me.

You're just not making me care about you. And I've had people who wanted to kill me be easier to talk to.

[ She's not wrong exactly, but Bakugou had more been about turning her words back at her. He doesn't know if she's bothered to consider what she just said in light of asking him that question herself... But it is similar isn't it? ]

You're not making it any easier.

[ Yeah, he knows what he is. Knows how he is. But even with some mellowing out, some things just won't change about him either. Take it or leave it, honestly. ]

And she's back to her finishing up whatever food and drink she brought. Not much left given her appetite. She only brought enough for both hunger and her blood.]
