[ A quest to take down monsters? To test his skills through sheer combat? Like anything else is going to really appeal to Bakugou, let's be real. Now that he has more than one magic type to master, it's more important. His philosophy is that he would best develop under pressure. Through practical means rather than being tied up at the training grounds.

It's with a feral expression that he takes on this task, cracking his knuckles as he dips into the labyrinth. ]

DON'T BOTHER SENDING ANYONE ELSE! JUST WAIT AND SEE!

[ Time for a classic RNG adventure! Just how far will our heroes get, because Bakugou isn't actually going in there alone is he? ]


(  These Bumbles Don't Bounce )

You're going about this shit all wrong.

[ So says the blonde just sitting there with his hands in his pockets. Bakugou doesn't seem to be offering any assistance and will not elaborate unless asked further. Instead he just keeps watching with judging expression. This isn't something that is going to really be something done for "notoriety" so it's not something he's interested in doing. ]

Don't you have any brains in that head of yours?

[ It's not that, really. Not everyone is a nerd like Katsuki secretly is and has weird personality quirks. The reality is that Bakugou knows things that people wouldn't expect for him to. This is just one of those things... ]


( Vital Venoms ) **SKIP FOR SPIDERS**
[ Isn't spider venom a pretty common ingredient used in magic and potions in general? So it's not surprising that there's a quest to go out to collect some since apparently they are getting a little too active and coming out and saying hi to people. That's why he's out here and not because a certain nerd would also probably want some but likely get bitten in the process to deal with them even though this usually isn't something he'd be bothered with doing. ]

The hell does it matter if they are alive or not? Venom works regardless of the host still breathing!

[ Wouldn't it just be easier to collect the venom producing parts and bring them in? Katsuki is kind of grumbling about it when, wouldn't you know, he is the one walking right into one of those icky sticky webs! ]

BACK OFF!

[ Anyone else coming into the forest is going to be met with a rather interesting sight - Bakugou dangling in the air by the ankle. One of those vines has wrapped itself around the area. Missing people is definitely something to look into but he hadn't anticipated this. ]

Shitty plants!

[ He blasts at the vine with a weakish fireball. Enough to be let go - only for another one to grab him by the arm. ]

Argh!

[ To be honest... Bakugou is going to keep trying to break free with sheer force and destructive magic. ]


( Double Trouble )

[ Let's say you're enjoying your day in Camelot City. Maybe you're having a good time shopping or eating at one of the cafes in the area. It's a great day and even better weather. It should be spent outside, right? Yeah, well... There's a loud blast that's going to totally ruin the ambience. Smoke billows into the air and being thrown from it is one Bakugou Katsuki. He rolls across the ground a little, looking a bit roughed up as he catches himself. Pushing himself up, he coughs.

That's when his opponent then launches themselves from the dust cloud, another fireblast obscuring everyone's vision. Bakugou throws up a barrier to block the incoming attack - smoke once again billowing all around them...

And when the smoke clears... It's not one Bakugou Katsuki that stands there. It's two. ]

[ The hell... Why would anyone like tunnels? They are cramped and tight and don't really make for easy fighting. So Katsuki doesn't really say anything here at first. He just kind of stares at Sagi. Then shifts to try to look passed him to see that familiar. Which, you know, he really can't. ]

Bakugou -

[ Nope! No time to really introduce himself. There's slimes coming and his grin starts to grow. ]

Finally!

[Unceremoniously, almost silently, Sagi draws a full-sized katana from the playing card in his pocket. There's barely room down here to assume a defensive stance, let alone swing his blade, but he takes one anyway with practised ease. His whole body language seems just a little sharper.]

How many are there?

[Bakugou is in front, which Sagi figures is a better vantage point. As the source of the slimy noise peeks around the corner, it... turns out not to matter. It looks to be one solitary slime, and it's big: mucous, foul-smelling, glistening from floor to ceiling, hemming them in from the front even more thoroughly than Sagi's six-foot demon familiar is blocking the way back.]

[ He has to do a double take there for a second. What the heck is... A sword? Here? When there's magic to be had? Slime-like monsters generally are resistant to physical attacks aren't they? At least that's how it goes in games and whatnot. That might not work out here, but... ]

How am I supposed to know? It's a dungeon crawl! There's probably a shit ton and only a couple coming at us now!

[ Which seems to be the case, but with that one. One giant one to start their day. It still makes Bakugou grin. ]

Finally some decent action!

[ Which means he's gathering fire in his palm and directing it at the slime! ]

I meant how many there are in front -

[He cuts himself off, stepping back on reflex. Whoomf goes the burst of fire, scorching the slime, which after all is far too large a target to miss. An inexplicable scent of freshly baked bread wafts from it - for just a second or two, before the rest of the creature's roiling flesh surges over the wound to cover the damage. It keeps advancing on Bakugou through the tunnel all the while, noticeably slower but undeterred.]

It's soaking the damage! But it isn't healing it...

[Don't mind Sagi raising his voice - it's still a little too easy for him to slip back into playing strategist for a small team like this. He tenses, watching for how Bakugou reacts. If he can just follow up on the next attack, have his familiar cover for him afterwards, keep this giant slime on the defensive...]

[ Soaking the damage... Perfect. Lovely. Just what Bakugou wants to hear. Though it's obvious since he has eyes that he can see with. ]

So we just have to keep throwing shit at it, huh?

[ So he's just going to keep throwing fire at it! ]

[Scorched by the next burst of flame, the slime tries to fold over its burns again to maintain its implacable advance - but instead its burned frontal section rams into a hard light barrier, momentarily forming from floor to ceiling when Sagi throws out his hand. It recoils, glooping agitatedly, but doesn't seem inclined to retreat back the way it came.

Sagi decides to reserve any suspicion about its behaviour for afterwards. The barrier might have stopped it from just absorbing the fire damage this time, but the thing is still physically bearing down on Bakugou by the moment, only an arm's length away when the barrier vanishes half a second later.]

There must be a reason... One more time...!

[This is too quiet to be any kind of barked order; it's more like he's muttering to himself, and just isn't very good at keeping his voice down.]

[ It's fine. Sagi doesn't have to bark anything in order for Bakugou to hear him and understand. There's something that the other is trying to piece together. So all of this right now is basically trial and error.

That being said... ]

Trying something different.

[ He hasn't really worked with this before but - Bakugou saw Ochako do it so how hard can it be? Deku can do it with alchemy so he can too! He presses his hand against the stone floor. Bakugou takes a deep breath -

And sends stone spikes jutting from the ground towards the slime! ]

[Sagi braces himself for the giant slime to absorb the attack again and surge straight into the two of them. He isn't quite as prepared to watch the slime take a couple of earthen spikes to its underside and - burst. The thing that was baking inside it, the thing that may have forced it to absorb its own wounds instead of having magic left over to regenerate itself? Dozens upon dozens of tiny baby slimes, many no larger than a thumb, wetly spattering against the narrow tunnel walls and floor and ceiling as their parent slime melts into a viscous puddle around Sagi and Bakugou's feet.]

Ohhh, that's foul. [A few of them drip from Sagi's armoured bracers as he quickly shields his face, too. He is suddenly very glad Avalon is cold enough for him to have picked up a pair of boots instead of the sandals he usually prefers.] I thought it might be hiding something inside, but this is a lot...

[The tiny slimes hardly seem large enough to be threatening, only gross. Do they even count for that bounty mentioned in the quest listing? Sagi has no idea. He does, however, return his katana to its card and the card to his pocket in a single motion, before one of the little slimes can stick to it; it definitely isn't going to be of use here. Maybe he can get his familiar to laser them all at once and forget this ever happened... Oh, but first.]

Uh, Bakugou? [Assuming that is his name, and not something else he was saying.] Are you okay?

[ Okay but does anyone really expect the slime to burst? Bakugou sure doesn't! Then again seeing all those smaller slimes come out of the melting big one is kind of gross. He doesn't care for any of this, really. ]

Fucking thing practically gave birth.

[ He takes a couple of steps backwards, but there's definitely a wave of fatigue that washes over him. Bakugou isn't really digging standing in a puddle, but there is a hand against the wall as he tries to regain a sense of his bearings.

So he's not compatible with stone and rock. Okay great. ]

M'fine.
