Shining Karaoke - Opening night
🧙 WHO: Anyone and everyone
⚔️️ WHAT: Opening of Shining Karaoke
🕒 WHEN: March 13th and March 14th
🗺️ WHERE: Ren's new karaoke bar
⚠️ WARNINGS: None that I can think of, will edit if needed.
NOTICE: Anyone who's character signed up to work for Ren, please put their name here!
Preparations
A few days before opening night, there's a lot of movement in the karaoke bar. Last decorations are put up, machines are checked and double checked and employees are being shown around to get familiar with the bar. Ren is around almost all of the time, guiding people and making sure everything goes smoothly.
The opening night
Because it's spring time, the karaoke bar has been decorated with cherry blossoms. The inside of the bar looks like a night under the cherry trees in japan: a sakura viewing, one might call it. It's a bit crazy to realize that you're walking in with how the interior looks. But it does become clear that this is the karaoke bar Ren has been talking about when you see the lobby where you can purchase drinks, snacks and rent booths.
Tonight though, all the snacks and drinks are free. There's a variety of colorful alcoholic drinks, not only suited for the sakura theme but also other rather interesting looking ones. Most of them can also be ordered alcohol-free. The snacks are mostly easy finger food, but also some very classy stuff like caviar (or closest to that you can find in Avalon). There is also a variety of soft and tea drinks.
The karaoke machines in various private booths are all available for testing as long as you wait for your turn patiently. There is also a karaoke machine in the main lobby and there is a chance to sing there as well. Though usually when someone sings in the lobby, others join in on the singing too.
Party Games
Various games have been set up! There's spin the bottle, twister and darts. There is also a karaoke game where the person who scored the slowest score has to put on a weird outfit that Ren has borrowed from the the theater.
If there's a game in mind, people are encouraged to set it up and have fun.
March 14th: White Day Celebration
The next day, anyone is invited to visit the karaoke bar again. Everyone is encouraged to pick chocolates they like from the selection on the tables and box them in a white box with a light pink ribbon. That box is later given to someone they like with well wishes. You can only make one box, so choose carefully who to give it to.
Of course nothing says you have to give it to someone. You could just eat them yourself.

Re: II - Outside
[ There's quite a few nuances that Yoon is missing out on, but he does hear the strained way that the explanation comes out. There's the contrast between a romantic overture and simply staying out here, there's the missed opportunity between last month and this month by the sounds of it... And all of it Yoon's not personally familiar with, but he's been surrounded by Yona and Hak, so he Gets It on some level. Nevermind that Hak would never be so forthcoming.
Even though this man is basically a stranger to him, Yoon can be empathetic based on all of that. ]
A Holiday sounds like a festival - so it's important you make a decision soon before the Holiday is over. And a gift is expensive.
[ He says as someone who hardly EVER handled money before going on the journey with Yona; he'd always bartered and traded before. ]
Between making a decision, the cost, and choosing a person... [ He nods knowingly. ] That's a lot to think about.
Re: II - Outside
The cost would be worth it - I've been saving a little. Checking the quest board. I know who it would be. I just.
[He grimaces briefly and forces a laugh.]
Not sure it's appropriate, you know?
Re: II - Outside
[ He shakes a scolding finger in the direction of the person who is obviously older than him, without so much as batting an eye. ]
This is something you were already planning, right? You said you saved money! Why wouldn't you want to go through with it?
Re: II - Outside
Well, he. He's someone I knew before, but we're from different timelines? So I know him better than he knows me now? And he used to be my colleague, and I'm not sure if he's dating someone or if it would be welcome?
[It may or may not escape Yoon's notice that there is a gold and a silver ring hanging on the necklace with the twin metal tag-like pendants around Shiro's neck, and there's a marked indent and a paler band of skin on the ring finger of his left hand.]
Re: II - Outside
That sounds like the best reason to ask him about it that I've heard yet.
[ It's unusual for Shiro's focus of attention to be a guy, sure, but not unheard of for Yoon; he got asked by several men to become their wife not that long ago. All that said... ]
Timelines I don't get, but if time has passed between you two... [ Like between him and Yona. ] That doesn't have to change anything between you two unless you let it. When one of my traveling companions found me again, she gave me a big hug because she was so relieved. Apparently a year had passed, even though it didn't feel that way to me.
[ Unfortunately, the sheer weight of Shiro's decision is lost on him. Marriage is a concept he's aware of, but the symbology of rings isn't part of his culture to distinguish it. ]
You sound pretty sad to me right now, like you miss him. Maybe he misses you too. You should ask.
Re: II - Outside
I do miss him.
[He's not entirely certain he'd meant to say that out loud.]
But I also don't want to come barging in and upset his life here, whatever that may be. I don't want him to ever feel trapped, or obligated or something.
[He shakes his head and twitches his shoulders back square. Alright, enough. What's he doing pouring all of this over a stranger?]
I'm sorry, you didn't ask for my weird romantic history. Don't worry about it - really.
1/2
[ He smiles brightly, as if to counter Shiro's soured mood. ]
I'm no stranger to idiots in love.
[ Somewhere, Yona just sneezed, or will any second. ]
2/2
[ He gives Shiro a thumbs-up. ]
Weird things can be good things too.
[ But if Shiro's ready to walk inside, Yoon won't keep him either. ]
Re: 2/2
You think so, huh? Weird isn't alarming or upsetting? You seem really sure about this. Heh. I wish I had your confidence.
no subject
Oh, it might be, I'm not denying that.
[ But he smiles through the contemplation. ]
If I have any confidence at all, it's that things are less likely to be weird in the good way if you keep holding back like you are, if you're the one who remembers things he doesn't. So... good luck to you.
no subject
You're right.
[It's soft, but it's still an admission nonetheless.]
Yoon? Thank you. It means a lot that you'd bother to talk some sense into me.
no subject
Not at all! I'm full of good advice - it's just that sometimes people don't listen, is all!
You chose to listen. You talked sense into yourself, sir.
[ But he's definitely smiling, appreciative for Shiro saying as much. He waves and heads out along the street, leaving Shiro in front of the establishment. ]
