i. Sir Fuzzlerton the Cad
[Well, this is quite the hilarious quest, actually. Ochako actually was giggling about it as she read the description on her phone's app, but decided to try it anyway. It seems harmless and simple enough, even if it is a bit time consuming... Still, what else has she got to do today? Nothing, really...so why not help out? Besides, she really could use the reward money, and it's almost like being given meager tasks as a Hero to do on the daily!! She's starting to get used to doing things like this, really, and it keeps Ochako busy.
So, as she preps herself to be out for the day looking for Sir Fuzzlerton, Ochako stares hard at the picture that his owner put of him on the quest descriptions, and tries to memorize it. Maybe she should contact one of her friends, too? Mm...this doesn't seem like anything at least one of them would partake in, and to be fair, they're probably doing it or the other quests posted as well. Maybe she'll run into them? Shoving a few bottles of water into her pack, and a bento box of greens (listen, it's decent bait for a waskly wabbit) soon after, she shoulders her bag and heads out to the first of many new bunny cafes that opened up, heading to the staff first to ask questions and if they've noticed an, um...f-frisky rabbit hopping about.]
He looks like this, and belongs to someone looking to get him back... Would it be alright if I looked around a little bit? I promise I won't bother any of the other rabbits, or customers, while I'm here!!
ii. Run Snagglefoot Run
[Now this is more the kind of quest Ochako is used to. She's not against doing the simpler, more mundane ones, but the adrenaline rush she feels when stopping an actual thief is few and far between. It actually makes her feel somewhat like she's back in Musutafu, fighting crime and stopping villains alongside her senpai, Nejire, and the Dragoon Hero, Ryukyu. Still...this particular thief is a tricky one to get a grip on, and Ochako is definitely getting frustrated. Man, it'd be pretty simple if she had her quirk, or her hero gear, but alas...nothing of the sort. What she does have, however, is a large and very fast running dire wolf familiar, who shows up at last when Ochako calls for her.]
Aludra, I need you!! [The white wolf seems to blinks into existence rather suddenly, its glittering coat like starlight as it curiously peers at its partner, then folds its ears back as it takes in her appearance. Ochako is winded, having been chasing Snagglefoot for several miles and always just missing him. Damnit...he's probably got his greedy little mitts on so many other stolen goods, too!] Please, this time it's important - there's a criminal about and I can't catch him on foot. I-I know...hah...you don't like me riding you, b-but...I really...r-really need your help!
[The wolf is fast, Ochako has seen it before - when Aludra runs she looks like the tail of a shooting star. It was part of how the brunette figures out the wolf's name was that of a star. The star making up the 'tail' in the constellation Canis Major...the greater dog. It's actually rather hysterical, that the dire wolf is so connected to space like that. Sort of like Ochako is, heh. They really were meant for each other. Hopefully, that'll mean the large beast will let the girl ride her...which she has not let happen since arriving in Avalon.]
Please. You know I wouldn't ask otherwise... And it'd be just this once, until we catch him. O-Or if you can somehow make me faster, I-- [Her phone buzzes. It's an alert. The thief is headed for the Red Spring. Shit, she's running out of time!]
iii. Farmers-R-Us
[Ochako never really done this sort of work before - there's not a lot of farmland where she lives, not unless you really go towards the more rural towns and villages, away from the major cities in Japan. She's of course been to farms before, obviously, but never really done work there. Still, it's honest work, and after some pointers from the farmhands, it's easy enough. Laborious, definitely, but Ochako's not against working up a good sweat!! It's a bit like early morning training, and a damn good work out to boot. She'll be doing this for a good, long while...
Hence why she's sort of wearing a lot of her usual workout gear as she goes about, turning soil removing roots and rocks, and hauling feed to the animals. She's pretty dusty towards the middle of the afternoon, sighing a bit as she heads back into the field from her break to take a drink and just rest a while. Breaks are important, after all!! No need to be overheating, or overworking, to the point of real fatigue! As she picks up her hoe to get back to work, she notices one of the farmer's dogs poking at something a fair bit away in the brush. Uh, oh...that better not be a rabbit den. Ol' Fido's gonna get is big trouble if he decided to attack any bunnies this month...]
Hey, hey, none of that!! Don't you do anything naughty over there, you! [Spooked by getting caught (and the prospect of getting punished), the dog races away, and Ochako is hurrying over quickly toward what it left. Sadly for her, though, Ochako has the marvelous misfortune to be right in the middle of a nest of pixies as they emerge and make the assumption that their home was disturbed and destroyed by the girl. Oh boy. Zipping about, clawing and biting at her arms and face, pulling at her hair, Ochako squeaks with horror and tries to swat them away, racing to try and take shelter...anywhere, really.]
AAAHH, G-GO AWAY!! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!! I WAS JUST TRYING TO HELP KEEP THE DOG AWAY!!! EYAAH! OW, OW, STOP BITING!!
iv. Wildcard!!

[And she does mean that. Because well, he's a big ol' kitty, come on. :| Of course Ochako would be happy to meet a big ol' kitty. There's a lot of strange and interesting people she's met already in this world - a giant robot and now a talking wildcat creature...thing. Ochako's starting to wonder if it'd be a good idea to keep a journal of all the cool things and cooler people she's met and experienced...
Broken from her musing, the young girl perks up right away at the mention of a strong nose. Oh, that's a great idea!! She'd wanted to take her familiar here for the same reason, but though it best...not to. The Dire Wolf spirit is not near as well behaved sometimes as Nanaki seems to be.]
Mmh...would you like some help? Ehehe, my nose probably isn't quite so good, but I can keep a lookout for him!! It's always better to work together with someone! [Two heads and all that...etc.]
no subject
[Uraraka seems like a nice enough person, which is why he doesn't snark at her too much. His flame-tipped tail swishes a bit, and he nods.]
I think that would be best. For as good as my nose is, it's a little hard for me to get near these rabbits.
[It's like they think he's going to eat them... but he ate before starting this quest! He's not even hungry!]
no subject
Clearing her throat, the girl rocks back and forth on her heels, hands hooking behind her back to distract herself from that ever growing urge.]
Mmh...that makes sense. You probably look really scary to the bunnies. Ehehe, I was a bit startled myself when I first saw you, too. But you seem really nice, and look really ultra cool, so I'm not so scared right now!! [Honest to a fault, or maybe just extremely blunt, this one.] Do you already have that Fuzzy-Tons scent?
no subject
[Especially with the way she's complimenting him. It's a little different than with humans, but the way his ears flick and the way his chest puffs out a bit are clear signs that he appreciates the compliments, at least.]
Well, so long as they know I'm not looking to eat rabbit right now... and I do. I was given a piece of his bedding to sniff before heading out. He smells different, but it's been a little hard singling it out in all this fur.
no subject
And very, very deserving of all the pets. Yes. ♥]
Ooh...that's so handy. Um, can you tell which direction he's headed? If we can single out the next bunny café he's going to, we should be able to get to him before he makes it there, and corner him!! [Ochako takes out her phone, pulling up a screenshot she took of the various bunny cafes that popped up recently, having circled then with the phone's doodle pad. She quickly crosses out the one they're currently at with her finger.]
no subject
[But pets will be later. For now, they have a rabbit to catch!]
Well, the scent is a little faint, but if I had to guess...
[Give him a minute. He sniffs the ground, and the air, trying to find a heading. But soon, he perks up, looking in one direction.]
...this way. I'm sure of it. Are there any cafes this way?
no subject
Pulling out her phone, and pulling up the map function, Ochako looks it over for a moment and her brows furrow slightly. Honestly, so much work for just one wayward rabbit... Though, this is a line of work in her hero duties, after all, so there's not much she can complain about. It'd just be a heck of a lot easier if they had her quirk...and someone like Kouda or Jirou, or Shoji especially, to do some recon with their quirks. Sigh. Just have to make do with what they've got now.]
There are, but the problem is...there are two in that direction - adjacent from one another. We can easily take a side street to get their faster, through the back alleys, but it'll be a guessing game to which cafe he'll go to even if we go get there first.
no subject
[Unfortunately the street does muddle up the scent a little, so it's hard to tell which one the rabbit might have gone in. His tail flicks as he looks down the way she mentioned.]
Are we able to check both? Or is there a chance the rabbit could flee if we enter the wrong one?
no subject
[Nanaki does look pretty intimidating even to a human being - a tiny, and probably very spoiled, bunny would no doubt die on the spot if he so much as yawned in their direction. Ochako huffs, tapping her lower lip as it juts outward in a thoughtful huff.]
Maybe we should call ahead to have the staff be on the lookout, too?
no subject
Well, this rabbit has nothing to worry about. I ate before starting this mission, so I am not hungry.
[That... doesn't really help matters??]
That's a good idea. If we can narrow our choices and prevent splitting up, I think we will have a better chance of finding our quarry.
no subject
Okay!! I'll call the sites now, so let's get a move on!! [And, after hitting the 'call' button on one of the store's front pages on her phone, Ochako details everything to the worker, who agrees to keep an eye out--] --and they even said they'll have one of their keepers go next door to the other store to let them know, too!
no subject
That's fortunate for us. We'll be able to find that pesky rabbit for sure, then. Let's go!
no subject
[And offer they go indeed! It's not a long trek there - especially not for the four-legged - but it is enough time for any pesky bunnies with a spring in their step (and a desire for some tail) to get anywhere quickly. Ochako gets updates on her phone here and there, until a series of quick pings catches her attention. Fishing her phone from her pocket, she slows her brisk pace just enough to not crash or trip into anyone, and seems to perk up.]
Someone spotted him!! He's in the rightward cafe, a-and already...um. Doing his thing. [AHEM.] L-Let's get there, quickly!! The staff has closed the back way, so there's only one way in and out now, but they said he's gotten kind of aggressive, and a few people have already gotten scratched or bitten trying to pick him up...
[Probably having fights with the other rabbits, both male and female alike.]
no subject
Leave it to prey to get worked up in the spring...
[But at least they know where he is? But he sounds like he won't go down easily... his tail twitches as anticipation for a hunt fills him.]
Let him try and get aggressive. I won't back down from a rowdy bunny.
[And as they near the cafe, Nanaki can definitely smell the scent they're after.]
It looks like your source is correct. He's in there.
no subject
[Ochako mutters to herself, quietly before clearing her throat and shaking her head. No time for that, and they're already practically at the cafe proper. Ochako slows down again as the building comes into view, and she actively tries to think of how to catch that wayward bunny without getting bitten. It'd be the least damaging injury she's sustained in her so-called 'career' as a hero trainee, but she'd still like to avoid it.
Ah, but--]
Maybe you can try to herd him into a carrier, Nanaki-san? I doubt he'd try to fight against someone like you, and would probably just run. If we can get him trapped inside a carrier, that'd be the best option. No one would have to get hurt.
no subject
Hmm... I can definitely do that. Are you willing to hold the carrier?
no subject
[She's just about to head inside with her new, fuzzy friend when Ochako pauses for a moment and blinks. Ah, right.]
Let me just...do one little thing first. [And she will very swiftly let the cafe staff know about Nanaki real quick, and their plan, so no one gets the wrong idea that this big, scary-looking wildcat is going to hurt or eat the bunny. God forbid the owner gets word of that.] Okay, ready!!
no subject
[When Ochako gives the okay, he nods.]
Right. Let's do this.
[And it's probably a good thing that Ochako warned the staff before, because once they enter, Nanaki goes very predator-like as he begins to stalk the pesky angora.]
no subject
And, looking at the scene, it probably won't be very long at all. All the other rabbits were put away when Ochako gave the café a head's up call, so Fuzzlerton is out in the open, hiding the moment he sees Nanaki with his nose twitching furiously in his agitation. He gives a few warning thumps from afar, but stills when the large, predatory creature stalks ever closer, twitching his body and shifting just enough...in case he needs to dash away. And boy does he! The moment Nanaki gets within just a yard of the bunny, he leaps off to the side and sprints across the room as fast as he possibly can!!]
no subject
[At first Fuzzlerton runs all over the place, but soon Nanaki manages to corral him towards Ochako and the carrier. The rabbit runs full-speed towards her in its haste to not be dinner, but is Ochako ready to catch him?!]
no subject
Poor Fuzzlerton hits the back of the carrier like a bullet, thankfully cushioned somewhat by the thick, rolled up blanket Ochako put in for him. He's not hurt, but definitely a little bit dazed from the impact, and that's all the time the girl needs to slam the door shut on him, locking it up tight a moment later. Fuzzlerton gathers himself, scratching and bouncing around in his carrier, his thumping muffled by the blanket, though looking inside shows his nose twitching furiously and he, uh....well.
He sure was scared shitless, in a very literal sense.]
W-We got him!! You did awesome, Nanaki-san! You were really scary, but also really super duper cool, too!!
no subject
[When Ochako catches Fuzzlerton, Nanaki slows down from a full run to a trot, and then moves to take a seat. He shakes out his mane, tail swishing. And at being called cool, Ochako might notice the way he puffs out his chest a bit in pride.]
Think nothing of it. I apologize if I looked frightening during all of that. I figured he wouldn't run very fast if he knew he had nothing to worry about.
[He sniffs at the crate, and.. oh, perhaps he did his job a little too well. Ew... Well, at least their job is done!]
I hope I didn't damage anything too badly in that chase...
no subject
But oh no, she absolutely notices that little puff of pride and it's super, duper cute. Ochako has to purse her lips and truly force herself not to pet him, though her heart feels like it's being squeezed right now. Urgh...cannot handle c-cute and cool animals--!]
Mm, I think it's alright... I don't see much really being damaged. [Maybe a knocked over chair or two, but that's really nothing that can't just be placed back in its place. Most of the breakable items, or the actual bunnies at the cafe, have been put away in the back in pens and cages designated for them, and the kitchens are also in the same area.] Let's get this bunny back home quickly, I don't want him to be too scared and go into shock or something... I-I think his owner would be even scarier than you if anything happened to her pet.
[Truly, a rich woman losing her pet because it went into shock? She would have their heads, probably. Hence why Ochako is keeping the carrier covered for the journey to deliver Fuzzlerton to the home address included on the request. With it being dark and relatively quiet, he can hopefully feel safer, and...not keep seeing Nanaki in his peripheral.]
no subject
You're right. Let's bring him home quickly, and safely.
[He will gladly leave the bun in Ochako's hands, and will be sure to remain downwind of the rabbit so he doesn't smell him at all. No more shock for this little bun...]
no subject
But! Off they go!! It'll take a little bit to get to where they need to be, the guardsmen posted on the outer ring of the aristocratic quarter of Camelot are a little reluctant to let Nanaki inside, but after Ochako tells them they're here for a quest, and uses a bit of her charm...and sassiness, eventually they're let inside and arrive to the luxurious estate that Fuzzlerton's owner, well...owns. After a bit more fussing with the security there, Fuzzlerton is finally delivered to his overjoyed owner, who gives Ochako a big, tight hug, and while a little nervous around Nanaki, eventually does give him some affection as well.
Not only that, but the two are promised a rather handsome reward to be delivered into their accounts, and Ochako is given a box of expensive and very lush bath products (soaps, bath salts, lotions, oils), and Nanaki is gifted with some dried meats and, if that's not to his tastes, a handwritten and stamped letter from the lady of the house to a well-to-do butcher shop for a cut of some top-grade meat. Heck yeah.]
