[Open] - Gonna Triumph!!

i. Sir Fuzzlerton the Cad

[Well, this is quite the hilarious quest, actually. Ochako actually was giggling about it as she read the description on her phone's app, but decided to try it anyway. It seems harmless and simple enough, even if it is a bit time consuming... Still, what else has she got to do today? Nothing, really...so why not help out? Besides, she really could use the reward money, and it's almost like being given meager tasks as a Hero to do on the daily!! She's starting to get used to doing things like this, really, and it keeps Ochako busy.

So, as she preps herself to be out for the day looking for Sir Fuzzlerton, Ochako stares hard at the picture that his owner put of him on the quest descriptions, and tries to memorize it. Maybe she should contact one of her friends, too? Mm...this doesn't seem like anything at least one of them would partake in, and to be fair, they're probably doing it or the other quests posted as well. Maybe she'll run into them? Shoving a few bottles of water into her pack, and a bento box of greens (listen, it's decent bait for a waskly wabbit) soon after, she shoulders her bag and heads out to the first of many new bunny cafes that opened up, heading to the staff first to ask questions and if they've noticed an, um...f-frisky rabbit hopping about.]

He looks like this, and belongs to someone looking to get him back... Would it be alright if I looked around a little bit? I promise I won't bother any of the other rabbits, or customers, while I'm here!!

ii. Run Snagglefoot Run

[Now this is more the kind of quest Ochako is used to. She's not against doing the simpler, more mundane ones, but the adrenaline rush she feels when stopping an actual thief is few and far between. It actually makes her feel somewhat like she's back in Musutafu, fighting crime and stopping villains alongside her senpai, Nejire, and the Dragoon Hero, Ryukyu. Still...this particular thief is a tricky one to get a grip on, and Ochako is definitely getting frustrated. Man, it'd be pretty simple if she had her quirk, or her hero gear, but alas...nothing of the sort. What she does have, however, is a large and very fast running dire wolf familiar, who shows up at last when Ochako calls for her.]

Aludra, I need you!! [The white wolf seems to blinks into existence rather suddenly, its glittering coat like starlight as it curiously peers at its partner, then folds its ears back as it takes in her appearance. Ochako is winded, having been chasing Snagglefoot for several miles and always just missing him. Damnit...he's probably got his greedy little mitts on so many other stolen goods, too!] Please, this time it's important - there's a criminal about and I can't catch him on foot. I-I know...hah...you don't like me riding you, b-but...I really...r-really need your help!

[The wolf is fast, Ochako has seen it before - when Aludra runs she looks like the tail of a shooting star. It was part of how the brunette figures out the wolf's name was that of a star. The star making up the 'tail' in the constellation Canis Major...the greater dog. It's actually rather hysterical, that the dire wolf is so connected to space like that. Sort of like Ochako is, heh. They really were meant for each other. Hopefully, that'll mean the large beast will let the girl ride her...which she has not let happen since arriving in Avalon.]

Please. You know I wouldn't ask otherwise... And it'd be just this once, until we catch him. O-Or if you can somehow make me faster, I-- [Her phone buzzes. It's an alert. The thief is headed for the Red Spring. Shit, she's running out of time!]

iii. Farmers-R-Us

[Ochako never really done this sort of work before - there's not a lot of farmland where she lives, not unless you really go towards the more rural towns and villages, away from the major cities in Japan. She's of course been to farms before, obviously, but never really done work there. Still, it's honest work, and after some pointers from the farmhands, it's easy enough. Laborious, definitely, but Ochako's not against working up a good sweat!! It's a bit like early morning training, and a damn good work out to boot. She'll be doing this for a good, long while...

Hence why she's sort of wearing a lot of her usual workout gear as she goes about, turning soil removing roots and rocks, and hauling feed to the animals. She's pretty dusty towards the middle of the afternoon, sighing a bit as she heads back into the field from her break to take a drink and just rest a while. Breaks are important, after all!! No need to be overheating, or overworking, to the point of real fatigue! As she picks up her hoe to get back to work, she notices one of the farmer's dogs poking at something a fair bit away in the brush. Uh, oh...that better not be a rabbit den. Ol' Fido's gonna get is big trouble if he decided to attack any bunnies this month...]

Hey, hey, none of that!! Don't you do anything naughty over there, you! [Spooked by getting caught (and the prospect of getting punished), the dog races away, and Ochako is hurrying over quickly toward what it left. Sadly for her, though, Ochako has the marvelous misfortune to be right in the middle of a nest of pixies as they emerge and make the assumption that their home was disturbed and destroyed by the girl. Oh boy. Zipping about, clawing and biting at her arms and face, pulling at her hair, Ochako squeaks with horror and tries to swat them away, racing to try and take shelter...anywhere, really.]

AAAHH, G-GO AWAY!! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!! I WAS JUST TRYING TO HELP KEEP THE DOG AWAY!!! EYAAH! OW, OW, STOP BITING!!

EEEHHH?!

[Ochako is staring at her hands in abject horror, eyes wide and mouth hanging open. What the fuck?! This better not be permanent??? PLEASE AND THANKS?? Ochako flails wildly as if that will help any, trying to make sure she hasn't sprouted horns or a tail or something. Thankfully, no, and the scales are only patches along her body, though that tongue is...it's wild. She feels dizzy from freaking out, holy smokes.]

WHA-WHA...WHAT'SSSSS GOING ON?! AM I TURNING INTO A LISSSSSARD?!

[Yang brings her hands up, urging Ochako to settle down.]

O-Okay, calm down! You're not any help to yourself if you freak out like this! We can figure out what's happening to you, and maybe how to reverse it! Just don't freak out!

[Thankfully, that...does work. Ochako's still not one hundred percent, but she's at least not shrieking about it anymore!! Just...j-just looking kind of watery-eyed and nervous, as she picks at the patches of scales on her hands and arms, crossing her eyes and sticking out her tongue to whimper a little when she sees the forked tongue flick out, back and forth. Hnnngh...don't like thaaaaaat!!]

Ooohh...I-I don't wanna be a lissssard...! M-Maybe a dragon, thosssse are cool, but not a lissssard... [What do you have against lizards, Ocha--] I don't wanna have to eat ssssspiderssss...

[...Okay, that's fair.]

[Geez. This kid sure is upset.]

Uh, I don't think you'll have to eat spiders. Don't worry, alright? We can fix this. Let's just get you to a healer, maybe they can fix this.

[Honestly, Ochako is just worried about the whole 'eating bugs' thing. The scales and tongue are weird as hell, and she'd really rather not actually turn into a lizard or a snake (because what the fuck even is magic, quirk effects can be reversed or wear off eventually in her world, huff), but the idea she may lose her humanity or something and be compelled to eat bugs...

No thank you.]

O-Okay...yeah. Yeah, you're right. [Hopefully there's someone around that can reverse this jinx.] Whatever those were were jerkssss!!

I think there's a healer they had on hand just for situations like this. Or if anyone got hurt, helping with all the farming.

[An idea came to her, and she smiled, nudging Ochako with her elbow.]

Heh, I hope they work for scale! Eh, eh?

[Okay, that pun is terrible, but Ochako's sense of humor is definitely...that. Bad puns, stupid impressions, general slapstick...yeah. She tries to be salty, but it just doesn't work, her lips twitching up at the corners as she snorts to herself, shoulders shaking as she begins to snicker and giggle into her hands.]

Ehehe, if anything, maybe they can give me some assssprin for the bitesss and ssscratches.

[No stopping them indeed, as Ochako laughs hard at the next, more terrible pun. At the very least, the intended effect worked - her mood is way better than it was.]

Oh yesss, I'm sure it'll go down in hisssstory!! [She grins and, oops, her incisors definitely are starting to look like fangs. Best be getting that remedy right quick.]

[The size and shape of her fangs are definitely not lost on Yang. So she turns serious for the time being.]

Alright, enough kidding around. Let's get you to that healer.

[ooc - Jump us ahead to after she gets healed? I'm not sure what else to do with this part.]

Ah, eh...r-right...

[Ochako clears her throat, nodding, and lets herself be taken back to the farmstead to be looked at. Several of the farmhands stare, horrified (the younger ones), while the much older simply slap their knees and start to laugh, ushering poor girls over to the backroom to get Ochako sorted out. Seems this brand of tomfoolery and pixie hijinks is a bit commonplace on the farm, and a rather elderly but sturdy looking dwarven granny tells her that the pixies often take to the fields and nest in the crops and haybales. And that they're, uh... "More ornery than a mule's backside".

She apologizes for the inconvenience, but has Ochako strip down (just to see where all the scales were starting to form. In no time at all, she's healed with a bit of magic and some herbal lotion on all the parts of her body that have been covered in the snakeskin. For the fangs and tongue, Ochako is given a bottle of fresh cow's milk and a jar of clover honey, told to mix a spoonful of honey into the milk for the next three days - morning and night - to make the fangs fall out on their own and have her tongue back to its usual shape and size.

"And make sure to eat plenty'a iron!! Them fae folk got no power power over it, so what put some inta your meat n' potatoes, girly, and y'all will be right as rain in no time!"]

Thank you, ma'am!! Um, d-do I owe you anything for all this? There's way more than just three day's worth... [The old woman just barks a hearty laugh and slaps Ochako hard on the back - good lord, this woman may be small in stature, but she's built like an ox. Ochako coughs a bit, wincing at the sting to her back. Right. Guess it's their treat.] Thanks again...t-to you, too.

[That's addressed to Yang this time.]

[Yang breathes a sigh of relief as she sees Ochako emerge from all of that (mostly) unscathed. She nods to her, and to the old woman (as well as telling her thanks for her help), and crosses her arms.]

Hey, don't think anything of it. The important thing is we got it taken care of, right?

By the way, I'm Yang. Yang Xiao Long.

[Unscathed and unscaled, thank goodness! Ochako tucks the goodies she got into a bag and hangs it in the crook of one arm, patting down her clothes a bit with her free arm. H-How embarrassing to have had to go through all that... Stupid pixies!]

Yeah...I'm so glad the people here knew exactly what to do. Ehehe...sounds like those pixies are actually a pretty big nuisance. [Iron though. Ochako will remember that. Her fantasy books said that, but she never put too much stock in them...until now.] Ah! S-Sorry, my name is Uraraka. Uraraka Ochako.

[And bow.] It's nice to meet you, Xiao Long-san.

[Yang blinks as she's bowed to, before waving it off.]

You don't gotta do that. Nothing to be sorry about, got it? And we've joked together—call me Yang, okay?

Ah...so-sorry, it's uh...force of habit, I guess? [Or just a cultural thing. But, she will at least address Yang with a little more familiarity. Though calling her just by her given name is not going to be a thing, sadly...since it's a big ol' no-no in her culture unless people are really familiar, or related to one another.]

Ah. Yang-chan...is that alright? Mmh, I'm not very comfortable calling people by their first names without and honorific... It, um...it's not common practice where I'm from. [She knows it's different in other countries but. Yeah. Habits are hard to break.]

Oh. [Yang blinks, suddenly feeling bad.] Sorry, I was just trying to be friendly, you know? That should be just fine, don't worry!

N-No!! Please don't apologize! [Ochako holds up her hands, shaking her head, then smiles.] It's just different customs, I'm sure... I'll get used to it eventually, maybe.

[Maybe. Though given how many people are here from different types of Japan...probably not.]

I'm not insulted or anything, ehehe! Please don't think so.

Well... if you say so.

[Yang smiles again; as far as she's concerned, it's all water under the bridge.]

So, what do you want to do? Get back to work, or do you wanna go home after all that?

Eh, if there's still work to be done, it should get done, right? I feel fine physically, after all...

[She flexes her fingers a few times and rolls her shoulders and neck. No aches, no sores (other than the ones from general hard work and physical activity), so no problem, right? Ochako's not the kind of person to let one small setback make her quit.]

Maybe once we are done, we can get some good fruits and vegetables from the grocer here!! I'd love to get some fresh milk and corn...it's been a long time since I made corn soup.
