🧙 WHO: Din and you
⚔️️ WHAT: Quests!
🕒 WHEN: Throughout the month!
🗺️ WHERE: All over town!
⚠️ WARNINGS: Possibly some violence
[A - Sir Fuzzlerton]
[Din looks decidedly out of place.
This isn't the first time he's done this sort of job. It's just that usually he's looking for the type of people who hang out in dark dingy bars where he has to fight his way through to the target. (And then fight the target, because there's a lot of people who would be happy to throw hands with a Mandalorian. They usually regret it).
Searching for a target in a brightly lit cafe where he's almost reluctant to move for fear of stepping on one of the creatures is definitely out of his usual wheelhouse. But a job is a job. He'll walk up to the counter and hold up a picture.]
You seen a rabbit that looks like this one.
[B - Farming]
i - In the Fields]
[It's almost idyllic in a way, working on a farm. Plowing the fields, moving hay bales, tasks that make you feel like you've done something at the end of the day. It reminds him of Sorgen, but without having to train villagers to fight. He tries not to think too much about Sorgen. That was another time and he didn't want to bring any more trouble that they already had.
For now there's other things to not think about. Like the way he pushed one bale of hay into another without touching it, or the fact that they both exploded and he needs to clean it up.]
[ii - Trip Time]
[He lacks a totem, so it's the old fashioned way of travelling for him. Which he doesn't mind. Magic is proving to be a little bit too much at the moment. But it looks like nice weather regardless. He looks at the wagon.]
You driving or am I?
[C - Greg the Goblin]
[Now, this is closer to his usual line of work. While Din can't claim to really take any pleasure in the job, it's just more familiar ground. Something he can work with as he attempts to figure out this weird world he's found himself in. And maybe a fight will clear his head. And 50,000 gold is nothing to sneeze at.
He makes his way into the bar and up to the counter to survey the scene. He's used to the looks he gets from his armour, though he doubts that here they recognize the value of beskar. Which is probably a good thing in this case. He doesn't order anything, mostly just takes stock of the bar, noting the target and any potential allies.]

There's another one on the next street over, we'll try there.
He's running out of places to hide.
no subject
Then let's go. Given how many places we've looked, I hope you're right.
no subject
Of course, most of the job I do don't involve chasing something so...fluffy.
[Usually he's after thugs and other scum, and he's never actually tried to take on a Wookie.]
He also can't be that smart.
no subject
[Not that he likens a rabbit to prey in this instance, but. Details.]
What sort of work are you used to doing?
no subject
[It was a living and it made money for the Covert.]
Targets were usually bigger, and more dangerous. More likely to fight back.
[He feels confident that he can survive a rabbit bite.]
no subject
[Nanaki's heard of similar work back on Midgar. He hums in interest.]
Monster bounties?
no subject
[He shrugs. It's a living, and it was either him or the New Republic that would catch up with them first.]
no subject
no subject
Rabbit's probably smarter than some of the people I've gone after. That's the place there.
[He indicates a pastel coloured storefront.]
no subject
People underestimate how clever prey can be.
[He does look up at the pastel-coloured storefront, his tail flicking.]
Hmm... alright. How should we approach this?
no subject
[He sighs at the pastel door, almost exhausted by the colour. It's not even that he objects to places like this, they're just very much...not his establishment.]
Same deal as before? I'll ask the questions, you try and sniff him out. Just, try to be...friendly.
no subject
I'm plenty friendly enough.
[But he understands. He will try to not be so... carnivore-looking.]
no subject
He pushes open the door, holding it for Nanaki. It's much like the last one. Pastel coloured furniture is set up in nice arrangements that allow as much for tea as they do to pet bunnies, that litter the place. It's pleasant. And very much not where Din ever expects to find himself.
Once again, he approaches the counter, nodding to Nanaki to do his part.]
no subject
[Nanaki enters the room with Din's assistance, and while Din approaches the counter, Nanaki will sniff around for that familiar scent. Ugh, all this rabbit hair is getting in his nose... he sneezes once, but goes back to work.]
[He sniffs around, doing his best to avoid the rabbits, but then he perks up. This... oh... was this..?]
[Din might notice the way Nanaki suddenly makes a beeline in one direction, sniffing intently.]
no subject
When he sees Nanaki on the move, he wraps up the conversation at the counter with a nod and makes his way over, slowly. Not trying to rush or scare the target, but enough to let Nanaki know he's there, and ready.
And maybe he'll just act casual and scratch a curious rabbit behind the ears.]
no subject
[And after some searching, he halts, ears raising and muscles tensing. There, tucked in behind a couple fuzzy bunnies, is the troublesome angora they were looking for!]
no subject
He looks back over to Nanaki, letting him take the lead. No point in both of them approaching, but he'll be ready as backup.]
no subject
[The rabbits seem to sense a shift in the atmosphere, as many of them suddenly grow still and hunker down, or hop away. The angora also freezes, looking around. Nanaki halts his movements, and it's a tense moment for a beat.]
[Two beats.]
[Three beats.]
[And then, suddenly, Nanaki pounces, and the angora bolts. And there's a sudden flurry of fleeing rabbits and a deep, feline snarl. Be on guard, Din, that rabbit's moving!]
no subject
The rabbit is quick though, and so Din might need a different tactic as it slips through his fingers and hides under a chair.]
no subject
[But it turns out to be worth it, because Nanaki crouches down, his paws holding the pesky rabbit in place!]
no subject
Din pulls himself off the floor and heads over, moving to pick the rabbit up so that it won't escape. Now they just have to get him home.]
Nice work.
no subject
Thanks. And thank you for your assistance. This was a lot harder than I thought.
no subject
Sorry I wasn't more help. Usually I'm trying to keep things out of danger, not lunging towards it.
Either way, we just need to get this guy home.
no subject
[Really, Din had provided a lot of extra insight, and had helped block the rabbit in so Nanaki could catch it. Plus, Din has hands. He's grateful!]
Yes. Let us finish this mission.
no subject
Don't supposed there's like a rabbit carrier or anything? We don't need him escaping again.
