[Snagglefoot Miffen is the name of the thief that has snatched up some precious gems from a local jewelry shop in Camelot. And if there is one thing that Izuku can’t tolerate as a student studying to be a hero? It’s crime, of course! When he had seen the task, he had signed up right away. Being away from his homeworld and his school hasn’t taken anything away from Izuku’s determination to be a hero and to help out whenever he can.

But this thief is chalking it up to be quite the challenge. A slippery fellow that once Izuku gets a single lead is off before Izuku can reach the next one. He’s been tracking the man through the streets as fast as he can, but the thief seems to be one step ahead of him so far. The next lead means he’ll be heading to the Red Springs Inn next. That means Izuku has to get there before he does.]

Alright, I’m not letting him get ahead of me this time. Even if I’m here... I still have to be. Plus Ultra!

[There is a flicker of magic as Izuku places his hands on a nearby tree. A flash and a bang later and the tree transmutes and grows into a twisted-looking wooden ladder with footholds and all. Izuku is then climbing up the ladder onto the roof of the nearby building and is then running and leaping from roof to roof. Better for the bird’s eye view and to get to the Red Spring Inn faster! Occasionally, only stopping to transmute more branches and tall hanging trees into planks to use as a jumping point to the next roof or ledge!

[b: quest: farmers-r-us]

[Farming is still helping and Izuku is just glad that he can lend a hand. Alchemy magic also seems to be a good thing to have in this regard. He’s working with the local farmers with helping the new crops sprout. He’s slow at the work at first but he’s getting better at it bit by bit. And when he’s not helping with the crops himself he is also a healthy strong boy so moving supplies and hauling tools or crops is right up his alley too. The hard work feels nice!

What he doesn’t notice right away while he’s working is the small next of pixies that have seemed to have nested in a corner of the field he’s working in. One moment he is kneeling down to plant and work on some seedlings when his foot catches a part of the nest buried in the brush.]

Eh-??! [Whoosh!!

In an instant, the nest of pixies erupts like a swarm of bees flying around him in a pink and glittery haze! His hair flies up and sticks there as he blinks rapidly at the swarm whooshing all around him! He flails!]

Ah-!! Ack- AHHHHiiii!!

[How does he get the swarm of bees pixies to stop?! They’re starting to chant some sort of magic or charm and the air is starting to spark!]

[c: 🥦 broadsword shopping]

[Being in a fantasy world like this and without his usual quirk Izuku has realized he needs a way to keep up with combat and battle without being able to use his usual superpowers. Alchemy isn’t always a combat type of magic (or at least he hasn’t quite honed a way to use it in a combative way just yet) so he thinks with a weapon that it would be a good way to supplement his skills.

And who doesn’t want a big as heck sword to go with this entire fantasy world vibe?? Like right out of a JRPG!?

Izuku is browsing a local blacksmith and weapons store. Looking at a row of the broadswords that might fit his style and his grip. He’s never bought a sword before so he is a little out of his league right now but looking at the weapons is just … so freaking cool.]

Uaa... These swords are amazing! I can’t believe I’m really here and I can get one…!

[d: 🥦 alchemy studying]

[Izuku is still very new to alchemy but he is getting the hang of transmuting organic matter. Wood, plants and the like came to him easily enough. But with his classmates learning their own magic he does want to try and see if he can study enough to help them as well. With Katsuki and Tsuyu both using light magic, he has figured that the faster he learns how to change and manipulate glass, metal and precious stones? The better.

And that is where Izuku is right now. He’s sitting on a bench outside as he tinkers with a handful of copper pieces and a container full of sand. He’s currently trying to transmute the copper pieces into different shapes and later trying to change the sand into proper glass lenses.

Holding the piece of copper in his hand Izuku suddenly winces as his magic flashes and burns his skin. He drops the copper piece with a clatter! This is going to take some practice...]

If I can get copper and sand to work right... I can start making magnifying lenses...

[Izuku is starting to mutter to himself!]

[Do something Katsuki says- He can't even imagine what sort of crap he'll make Izuku clean around the house or- No way-!!

... But. "Then I'll do something you want." echoes really. Really. Loudly in his head.

Katsuki will do something that he wants? Katsuki will do something... he picks.]

[Just give him a second, he needs to think???]

[ Wow. Is the potential for Katsuki to do something Izuku would ask of him really not enough of an incentive? A lot of people should jump at the chance! ]

[ Deku. Please. ]

[SHHHH-- His brain just needed a second to think??? He's never been presented with this sort of option before ever in his entire existence? And what if he loses and Katsuki bullies him around for it and there's nothing he can do about it?

But what if he WINS...............

Katsuki Bakugou will have to do something he says.]

I'll do it!!! What's the bet?!

[Loud.]

[ Katsuki's grin grows wide. That's more like it. Take the bait Deku! ]

We're gonna see which name your goat is gonna respond to! Go and get him.

[ Now you've already agreed to do it, Izuku! Or... Are you not confident enough in the name you picked? ]

[He's totally taken the bait. Hook line and sinker.]

... Okay.

[But honestly that little seed of oh no is there in his gut. But if he backs up Katsuki might just bully him more. So, he goes to retrieve the little goat who was snooping around the house with Ruby and returns with him under his arm. Then he places the little one on the floor... And the goat seems to just look between them with blinky eyes.]

Kacchan... I...

[ Ha! Nailed it. Deku is totally going to lose and then Katsuki is going to make him -

Ha? The goat is just looking between them. That's not really an issue. It's that thinking look that Deku has on his face. Katsuki actually kind of knows that means that something's up. Isn't that irritating. Has he figured out the blonde's ploy here? ]

You what? Backing out?

[ He would tease Deku though. It's true. ]

[fullgauntlet]

N-no! I'm... I'm not!!

[See- He can't dare back out now?! He's trapped-!! Oh no- Oh no...

The little goat is sitting there blinking at them. Looking back and forth with a curious little wiggle of his tiny tail.]

T-Toshichan? Come here!

[Oh look, he is standing up on all four and taking one little trot towards Izuku! But... Katsuki won't stop there, right?]

[ Hmm. There's something there. Something that he doesn't really want to say...

Oh well. If Izuku doesn't have the courage. That's his fault. Instead Bakugou will focus on this. ]

Oi, Snowball. C'mere instead.

[ Nope. He won't stop. ]

[And just like that the little goat seems to stop. And turn. And look at Katsuki.

Nooo!!!]

Toshi-!

[But this is his familiar, he should listen to Izuku, right?? Izuku calls again and pats his knee.]

Hey! Toshichan!

[But nope............... The little white goat seems to see Katsuki and when he was called got little hearts in his eyes. It starts trotting to Katsuki!!!]

[ And look at that. He does right what is expected of him. What a dumb, stinky familiar it is. And it's going to net Bakugou the victory he expected all along.

Look at Deku, crying out. Trying to get the thing's attention. Katsuki isn't! He's not even calling for the goat repeatedly.

But he will rub it in Deku's face. Oh yeah he will. By getting to one knee and actually smiling at little Snowball! ]

[ BUT THEN GIVING DEKU THIS LOOK~ ]

What kind of smile is that?! He's never seen it?? Before???]

[And because of that pure pretty boy look- The goat is bleating happily and practically jumping at Katsuki with a love-stricken look.

Izuku is utterly and completely defeated.]

That wasn't fair-! That- [......... OH NO.] K-Kacchan!?

[ Ah so it's super effective then right? That's what Katsuki had thought might happen. They hadn't really set down any rules, right? And it's not like it's cheating to just smile you know.

Maybe that will teach Deku not to get in over his head.

Though he is going to give the goat a few pats. Just to rub it into Izuku's face. ]

Wanna explain how it isn't fair?

[Izuku knows he's doomed now. That grin is still as feral as ever even if a second ago it was some strange pretty smile he's never seen before in his life. He didn't even know Katsuki was capable of a smile like that--]

It's- It's just- I had told him his name before and he's only going to you because he- he likes you! So I don't think this is really a fair representation of what he might actually want to be called!

[He still has to try and defend himself here, doesn't he?? But one look at his goat with Katsuki and the little heart eyes his goat has and he knows it's done.]

... Ahh...

[Snowball it is.]

Not my problem! You shouldn't have agreed to a bet if you knew about his little problem.

[ Because apparently liking Katsuki must be a problem. People are pretty stupid to, considering his personality. Maybe the goat is like Kirishima in that sense - just too stupid or stubborn to really know better. To pursue despite the kind of personality Bakugou has.

Though Izuku's long fallen into that category. ]

Are you actually being a sore loser?

[ Somehow he's amused by all of this, even petting this stinky goat. ]

[He's starting to realize that Katsuki might have just baited him into all of this to prove his point- And that makes Izuku frown. But he really thought that maybe he could win the bet. The prize for winning was pretty great? But here he is now on the opposite end of it and he only has himself to blame for it.

And despite all of that, despite Katsuki's personality... Yeah. He still likes him. That hasn't skipped a beat since he was a little kid. He must be a stickler for punishment.]

No. Fine... W-what do you want me to do, Kacchan...

[Might as well take his death standing.]

[ Yeah. Don't go into a battle you can't win if you don't have a strategy. You can't always risk that you're going to come out on top through sheer determination and faith alone.

He'll keep drilling this into Izuku's head until he gets it. ]

About that...

[ Katsuki then gets to his feet and wipes his hands on his pants. Makes to move closer to Deku. ]

Should I just make you do something now? Or make you wait and sweat it out...

[fullgauntlet]

[He's embarrassed and has to resist the urge to take a step backwards. What does Katsuki have in mind for this anyway...? Izuku is thinking it's definitely going to be something like extra chores or making him admit he's a gross nerd or something worse.]

Just tell me what you want me to do now, Kacchan...!

[Get it over with! He gets it already!]

[ All of those had crossed his mind. Doing embarrassing things and recording it. Doing extra chores... However that's not how Katsuki wants this all to go down. Not anymore. He's not that person any more. Not that stupid bratty middle schooler that got his kicks from bullying Deku. ]

Fine then.

[ He actually becomes serious, even if he is grabbing at Izuku's jaw like he used to. Maybe it's just so that the nerd knows he is serious. ]

I don't do anything I don't want to do. So what I want is a free pass to just do shit without you questioning it. One time only of "shut the fuck up Deku" and you actually leaving it alone.

Ka- Ack-!

[Jaw grabbed and all Izuku can do is go still and tense for a moment. Staring at Katsuki's red eyes with wide green ones. He wasn't expecting that... at all? There's nothing embarrassing coming his way? There's something serious about this.]

It's not like I try to question you all the time, I can't help it. But that's ... That's it?

[His hand does hold at Katsuki's wrist.]

[ The other things that Katsuki can think of? He knows that Deku can't commit to those. Be careful? Be mindful? Don't go where he can't follow? Yeah, Izuku is the type of shithead that would promise but then go right around and break that promise. He wouldn't mean to, of course, and he'd feel bad about it. Doesn't mean he wouldn't just do it again either, depending on the circumstance. ]

What? You disappointed? Would you rather be recorded and made into a ringtone?

[ Because he had thought about that. ]

No, thank you...

[Izuku glowers slightly. Sometimes certain things (usually villains lol) are just better dealt with in the heat of the moment. Izuku is at least trying to be a little more self-aware these days, anyway? Knows how much his temper and sheer determination can flare?? He's getting there. Even if there are parts of Izuku's personality that really won't ever change...

He pats Katuski's wrist. Still holding his face...]

Fine, you said one thing, so I'll be quiet about one thing...

[ And some things are just better dealt with in the heat of the moment. This really isn't about that.

Sometimes Katsuki just does things and being questioned about them at that time makes it harder. And sometimes it's just about doing with him. He needs to actually commit to an action and talking about it doesn't help him work up the nerve. It makes him defensive and defeats whatever it is that he's actually trying to do.

Just sometimes. ]

Guess we'll see if you can.

[ So now he releases Izuku's face and starts heading back up the loft. ]

Imma finish unpacking my crap.

[When released Izuku lets out a huff and rubs his jaw. Katsuki doesn't have to say it like that...

A bit nervous now! But he lets Katsuki head back to his room. He has some things to finish himself so with a sigh he heads back to his own. And the little goat decides to stick close with Katsuki too. Betrayer!]
