[Snagglefoot Miffen is the name of the thief that has snatched up some precious gems from a local jewelry shop in Camelot. And if there is one thing that Izuku can’t tolerate as a student studying to be a hero? It’s crime, of course! When he had seen the task, he had signed up right away. Being away from his homeworld and his school hasn’t taken anything away from Izuku’s determination to be a hero and to help out whenever he can.

But this thief is chalking it up to be quite the challenge. A slippery fellow that once Izuku gets a single lead is off before Izuku can reach the next one. He’s been tracking the man through the streets as fast as he can, but the thief seems to be one step ahead of him so far. The next lead means he’ll be heading to the Red Springs Inn next. That means Izuku has to get there before he does.]

Alright, I’m not letting him get ahead of me this time. Even if I’m here... I still have to be. Plus Ultra!

[There is a flicker of magic as Izuku places his hands on a nearby tree. A flash and a bang later and the tree transmutes and grows into a twisted-looking wooden ladder with footholds and all. Izuku is then climbing up the ladder onto the roof of the nearby building and is then running and leaping from roof to roof. Better for the bird’s eye view and to get to the Red Spring Inn faster! Occasionally, only stopping to transmute more branches and tall hanging trees into planks to use as a jumping point to the next roof or ledge!

[b: quest: farmers-r-us]

[Farming is still helping and Izuku is just glad that he can lend a hand. Alchemy magic also seems to be a good thing to have in this regard. He’s working with the local farmers with helping the new crops sprout. He’s slow at the work at first but he’s getting better at it bit by bit. And when he’s not helping with the crops himself he is also a healthy strong boy so moving supplies and hauling tools or crops is right up his alley too. The hard work feels nice!

What he doesn’t notice right away while he’s working is the small next of pixies that have seemed to have nested in a corner of the field he’s working in. One moment he is kneeling down to plant and work on some seedlings when his foot catches a part of the nest buried in the brush.]

Eh-??! [Whoosh!!

In an instant, the nest of pixies erupts like a swarm of bees flying around him in a pink and glittery haze! His hair flies up and sticks there as he blinks rapidly at the swarm whooshing all around him! He flails!]

Ah-!! Ack- AHHHHiiii!!

[How does he get the swarm of ~~bees~~ pixies to stop?! They’re starting to chant some sort of magic or charm and the air is starting to spark!]

[c: 🥦 broadsword shopping]

[Being in a fantasy world like this and without his usual quirk Izuku has realized he needs a way to keep up with combat and battle without being able to use his usual superpowers. Alchemy isn’t always a combat type of magic (or at least he hasn’t quite honed a way to use it in a combative way just yet) so he thinks with a weapon that it would be a good way to supplement his skills.

And who doesn’t want a big as heck sword to go with this entire fantasy world vibe?? Like right out of a JRPG!?

Izuku is browsing a local blacksmith and weapons store. Looking at a row of the broadswords that might fit his style and his grip. He’s never bought a sword before so he is a little out of his league right now but looking at the weapons is just … so freaking cool.]

Uaa... These swords are amazing! I can’t believe I’m really here and I can get one…!

[d: 🥦 alchemy studying]

[Izuku is still very new to alchemy but he is getting the hang of transmuting organic matter. Wood, plants and the like came to him easily enough. But with his classmates learning their own magic he does want to try and see if he can study enough to help them as well. With Katsuki and Tsuyu both using light magic, he has figured that the faster he learns how to change and manipulate glass, metal and precious stones? The better.

And that is where Izuku is right now. He’s sitting on a bench outside as he tinkers with a handful of copper pieces and a container full of sand. He’s currently trying to transmute the copper pieces into different shapes and later trying to change the sand into proper glass lenses.

Holding the piece of copper in his hand Izuku suddenly winces as his magic flashes and burns his skin. He drops the copper piece with a clatter! This is going to take some practice...]

If I can get copper and sand to work right... I can start making magnifying lenses...

[Izuku is starting to mutter to himself!]

{She...isn't sure if that will work or not, but it's worth a try.]

Maybe you can do that as penance.

[Penance... Yeah, that checks out.]

Okay...

[He turns to the door and then nervously askes,]

Pixie-san! ... I'm sorry for destroying your home! If you could give me a chance I could rebuilt it! ... How do you- like it? Your home?

[Is he really calling out to the pixies?? Yep.]

[Yep.

But the buzzing slows outside, and through the door, a loud, droning sound like a dozen pixies speaking in unison comes through.]

How can you help, biggun?

...Well at least they're talking.

[Well- That's not creepy at all. Izuku looks at Tsuyu and wonders if she's picturing the same thing. A bunch of bees talking in unison. Creepy??]

Ah... Uh... Eh-

[This wasn't in the hero training.]

I have alchemy! And I've been working with plants and other organic material and some copper or other materials like sand and glass! I might be able to fix up your nest or- make it sturdier than before! ... So- as an apology...

[The pixies seem to whisper to each other in a strange little cluster of indistinguishable muttering babble.]

Do you have anything shiny shine?

[It's a weirdly unsettling sound, all in all...But yeah she feels it. And it is unsettling, like humming that resonates with your teeth.]

I could make light? Maybe you could make a crystal to hold it, Midoriya-chan? That might work.

[She'd gotten some spells to stick semi-permanently.]

[He fidgets nervously but he does nod with a fleck of determination.]

I haven't made anything like crystals yet. But this might be a reason to try... The best I've gotten so far is glass. The glass I've been working on for lenses to work with.

[He reaches down to the ground and scoops up some fine dirt and pebbles. It isn't exactly sand but he's not making exactly glass right now. Right? He focuses.]

I'll just need a minute to try...

I'll wait. It's okay.

[Tsu moves away to give him room to work. And even fishes around in her pocket to offer him a quartz crystal she'd seen on the ground and picked up.]

Maybe this will help?

[It's just a pretty rock, that was the only reason she bothered to keep it.]

...! That might work really well, Tsu-chan! Thank you!

[He will reach out to take it. Where he's crouched down on the ground he'll fumble with the sand and quartz for a moment and make a small flicker of magic. It fuses all the elements together and he does try to make some sort of shiny looking crystal out of it all but it turns out a little lopsided and warped. But hey- it reflects the light well enough??]

That looks... okay? [Like a deformed crystal lego.] Do you want to try showing it to them?

[At least the angry buzzing has stopped outside the barn door.]

Give me a sec. ribbit

[Once he's done, she presses her fingers to it and begins murmuring something. It's faux-latin, mumbling, and nonsense noises that she's picked up as a way to focus. And as she does so, the heart of the crystal begins to pulse with light. It's refracted in a dozen weird ways by the imperfections in the latticework inside, but it's something.]

Now~! We can show it to them, Midoriya-chan.

[Light magic...! Tsuyu has been working hard too!]

Wow... That's amazing, Tsu-chan.

[He'll let Tsuyu keep the crystal with her for now as he reaches for the door handle.]

Alright. Ready? I'll open the door now.

[He'll give some more warning before opening it up! The pixies are just outside hovering about with expectant squeaks and noises. But look they're not attacking! Instead, it looks like they are waiting to assess their shiny trinket first to see if they pass...]

[The trinket sparkles. And all of them react in unison.]

oooOoooOOOOoo...shiny! Give! Give shiny!

[Tsuyu steps forward to present it, and the cloud buzzes around her fingers, gathering it up and carrying it aloft.]

Pass. Good. But now boy-child fix home.

[Holy crap, it actually worked...??]

T-thanks??

[Izuku gives Tsuyu a smile, a little shocked still that they actually managed to do that right. So he carefully side steps his way out and around the crowd of pixies.]

I'll do my best to fix it up! Don't worry...!

[Let them sneak out of this barn!]

Okay. I'll come too.

[Tsu follows, not at all going to leave him alone! No way! These things could sting and she will shield him.]

It was already a lot of help that you had that piece of quartz. I'm glad you were here, Tsu-chan.

[Phew! They will manage to get around the crowd of fluttering pixies. And they can make their way back to where Izuku had stomped all over their little fairy nest. Izuku feels bad all over again when he sees it.]

I might need help holding some things in place, actually...

[He kneels down on his knees and starts to scoop together some of the broken wood bits.]

Sure. I can do that.

[She is getting used to fine motor things with her powers, and so...after inspecting it, waves her hands and creates a little shell. It's open at the top, but it should encompass the fairy nest from the outside.]

If you wanna, build in from there, and I'll keep it standing upright as you work.

Wha- That's great, Tsu-chan!

[They work pretty well together! So, Izuku gets started in using some flashes of alchemy here and there to reconstruct the broken pieces of structure. He adds enough space, places for soft bedding, open slots for fresh air like tiny windows and some nooks and crannies for them to play and hide in. Not bad, this kind of is like playing with legos.]

Does that look alright?

[The pixies start to join them and hover closer and check out the structure. One of the pixies even moves to watch from a perch on Tsuyu's head.]

[Tsu holds tight to the spell until it's all done. When one of the pixies does arrive, buzzing over her head, she settles in. Just, letting it do it's thing.]

Yes, yes, looks good, biggun. We have to fix the roof, but that's all. You do okay, that and shiny rock make it all okay again.

[What a relief!]

[What a big relief.]

Phew... Okay. [He gives Tsuyu a smile.] I'll finish that part and I think we'll be done.

[Another concentrated look from Izuku as he mends the roof. The roof is just a little bit wonky looking but that might be because Izuku's been using his magic a lot lately. He must be getting tired. But a functional roof is better than no roof!]

There. That's it?

{The little fairies don't say a word. They just buzz and flit forward, diving down into the house. The tiny door clicks shut audibly, and that leaves the two alone in the field.]

I'd say that it did? C'mon, let's get out of here before they get mad again.

R-right. Okay!

[He goes along with her to escape any more pixie wrath.]
