[open] what am I to be what is my calling!
š§ WHO: Izuku Midoriya & YOU!
āļø WHAT: Catch-all log for the month of March! Quests, open prompts and closed threads inside.
š WHEN: All throughout March.
šŗļø WHERE: Camelot and surrounding areas.
ā ļø WARNINGS: tba.
[a:
quest: run snaggle foot run]
[Snagglefoot Miffen is the name of the thief that has snatched up some precious gems from a local jewelry shop in Camelot. And if there is one thing that Izuku canāt tolerate as a student studying to be a hero? Itās crime, of course! When he had seen the task, he had signed up right away. Being away from his homeworld and his school hasnāt taken anything away from Izukuās determination to be a hero and to help out whenever he can.
But this thief is chalking it up to be quite the challenge. A slippery fellow that once Izuku gets a single lead is off before Izuku can reach the next one. Heās been tracking the man through the streets as fast as he can, but the thief seems to be one step ahead of him so far. The next lead means heāll be heading to the Red Springs Inn next. That means Izuku has to get there before he does.]
Alright, Iām not letting him get ahead of me this time. Even if Iām here... I still have to be. Plus Ultra!
[There is a flicker of magic as Izuku places his hands on a nearby tree. A flash and a bang later and the tree transmutes and grows into a twisted-looking wooden ladder with footholds and all. Izuku is then climbing up the ladder onto the roof of the nearby building and is then running and leaping from roof to roof. Better for the birdās eye view and to get to the Red Spring Inn faster! Occasionally, only stopping to transmute more branches and tall hanging trees into planks to use as a jumping point to the next roof or ledge!
Witness his alchemy trick or help him out!]
[b:
quest: farmers-r-us]
[Farming is still helping and Izuku is just glad that he can lend a hand. Alchemy magic also seems to be a good thing to have in this regard. Heās working with the local farmers with helping the new crops sprout. Heās slow at the work at first but heās getting better at it bit by bit. And when heās not helping with the crops himself he is also a healthy strong boy so moving supplies and hauling tools or crops is right up his alley too. The hard work feels nice!
What he doesnāt notice right away while heās working is the small next of pixies that have seemed to have nested in a corner of the field heās working in. One moment he is kneeling down to plant and work on some seedlings when his foot catches a part of the nest buried in the brush.]
Eh-??! [Whoosh!!
In an instant, the nest of pixies erupts like a swarm of bees flying around him in a pink and glittery haze! His hair flies up and sticks there as he blinks rapidly at the swarm whooshing all around him! He flails!]
Ah-!! Ack- AHHHHiiii!!
[How does he get the swarm ofbees pixies to stop?! Theyāre starting to chant some sort of magic or charm and the air is starting to spark!]
[c: š„¦ broadsword shopping]
[Being in a fantasy world like this and without his usual quirk Izuku has realized he needs a way to keep up with combat and battle without being able to use his usual superpowers. Alchemy isnāt always a combat type of magic (or at least he hasnāt quite honed a way to use it in a combative way just yet) so he thinks with a weapon that it would be a good way to supplement his skills.
And who doesnāt want a big as heck sword to go with this entire fantasy world vibe?? Like right out of a JRPG!?
Izuku is browsing a local blacksmith and weapons store. Looking at a row of the broadswords that might fit his style and his grip. Heās never bought a sword before so he is a little out of his league right now but looking at the weapons is just ⦠so freaking cool.]
Uaa... These swords are amazing! I canāt believe Iām really here and I can get oneā¦!
[d: š„¦ alchemy studying]
[Izuku is still very new to alchemy but he is getting the hang of transmuting organic matter. Wood, plants and the like came to him easily enough. But with his classmates learning their own magic he does want to try and see if he can study enough to help them as well. With Katsuki and Tsuyu both using light magic, he has figured that the faster he learns how to change and manipulate glass, metal and precious stones? The better.
And that is where Izuku is right now. Heās sitting on a bench outside as he tinkers with a handful of copper pieces and a container full of sand. Heās currently trying to transmute the copper pieces into different shapes and later trying to change the sand into proper glass lenses.
Holding the piece of copper in his hand Izuku suddenly winces as his magic flashes and burns his skin. He drops the copper piece with a clatter! This is going to take some practice...]
If I can get copper and sand to work right... I can start making magnifying lenses...
[Izuku is starting to mutter to himself!]
[e: š§ wildcard]
[got something else? feel free to toss it down here! or contact me over here on the cr meme for some plotting! more than happy to make some closed starters as well!]

Lizzie-san?!
[He hops from one ledge to the next but is still going! He has to keep his pace up! Crime doesn't wait!]
Ah- I'm just- over one hundred and twenty? Why? You can't mean...
[Does she mean what he thinks she means?]
no subject
Lizzie swoops down low and grabs the boy under his shoulders, attempting to hoist him up as she flies back up. She doesn't account for... well, her own gravity, or velocity, or aerodynamic drag, or any other kind of physics sort of thing that would have indicated that this was a bad idea.
Instead of picking Izuku up, Lizzie more or less flips over him and faceplants into the rooftop.]
..........
I'm okay!
[But ow.]
1/2
[SHE'S REALLY PICKING HIM UP. Izuku yelps and wildly tries to keep his balance as his toes leave the ground and!!]
Wait- Wait- Wait!!!!
2/2
Lizzie-san-! ... Are you- Are you sure?! You're okay?!
[WHEEZE.]
Maybe you shouldn't pick anyone up yet...! If you're new to flying! I can keep up on foot-! I'm sure I can!
thank you for flying Lizzie Airlines, we hope you enjoyed your flight
[Although the
roadroof rash on her face smarts.Lizzie picks herself up and dusts herself off, eager to minimize time lost in the pursuit by her failed attempt to help him.]
New plan: I can fly ahead and slow him down?
āļø
[Is she sure?? That road rash looks like it smarts!]
But- Alright! If you can get ahead of me then make sure he doesn't reach the stables near the Red Springs Inn. He might get away if he gets to a horse.
[Izuku is going to get ready to leap to the next rooftop!]
no subject
On it!
[Lizzie flies up again and speeds on ahead past Izuku toward the Red Springs Inn as the crow flies. There's no sense in trying to track the thief's path, as her role in this escapade is to cut him off at the pass.
She arrives as Snagglefoot Miffen is mounting a horse and starting to trot off. Neither she nor Izuku are going to be able keep on his trail if he gets the animal to a gallop, so Lizzie does the first thing she thinks of.
She flies straight into the side of him, knocking him off the horse and causing them both to tumble onto the ground with a hard thud. The horse, understandably spooked, takes off.]
no subject
Lizzie-san!
[He slides down the side of the last building and sprints for them and practically body tackles the thief to the ground. In most cases, he would have a quirk to help him pin down a criminal like this but for now it's all just his natural weight that he throws into it. The man yells and grunts and tries to grapple with Izuku but he holds on like nothing else matters!]
Do you have something to ties his hands with?! Quick-! Hnn!
[Hurry- Izuku gets an elbow smack to the cheek! Ow!]
no subject
Izuku takes advantage of the opportunity Lizzie provides and pins the criminal to the ground. Lizzie pats herself down quickly and finds no rope. Welp.]
I have a belt!
[
Until Yoshi-P takes it away.Lizzie removes her belt and goes to help Izuku grapple their quarry. She grabs his hands and starts to tie them together with the leather.]
no subject
Great, we've got him now!
[But where is the bag of stolen goods...?]
no subject
You don't think the stolen jewels were on the horse, do you?
[The laugh from the thief, despite his predicament, suggests she may have the right of it.]
no subject
No way...
[With the man tied up he still only snickers at them as if they've lost.]
We have to take him in but we need to get the stolen goods back too.
[Or it might just be someone's super lucky day if they find the horse- but still.]
no subject
[OF COURSE it wouldn't be so easy. Lizzie's kicking herself for not thinking to secure the horse when she knocked the thief off of it.]
Do they train horses to return to their owners when relieved of their rider? Or is that only chocobos?
[Maybe they'll be lucky???]
no subject
[What are chocobos?? There is no time to ask that right now! Because just as he's finished tying up the culprit Izuku catches sight of movement out of the corner of his eye.]
Ah- The horse! The horse!!
[Izuku suddenly jumps up from his spot and starts to sprint over to the horse. Which of course spooks the poor thing immediately.]
W-wait!!
[No one ever taught Izuku how to deal with horse in hero school. But he's not dumb enough to keep chasing it so he stops and then tries to put his hands up in a slow soothing movement. The horse is still spooked and verging away from him. Lizzie will have to keep an eye on the thief herself for a second here! Maybe??]
Steady...girl... don't move...
no subject
Not so fast. Call your horse back and make it behave.
["It's not my bloody animal, I just rented it!" is the response she gets. Lizzie scoffs, drags him to his feet, and hangs him from a hook on a nearby pole so that she can go assist with horse wrangling. She ignores his cries of protest and slowly circles the horse.]
Goooooood girl. We're friends. Right, Izuku? Not gonna hurt her.
no subject
Lizzie-san, you're pretty good with this sort of thing, ne...
[He's grateful for the help with the criminal! And now for the horse. It nickers nervously and hoofs at the ground like it might bolt. Izuku takes a very careful step forward.]
That's right... We're friends! No one wants to hurt you...!
no subject
[This is close enough to adventuring that it counts, and adventuring is the kind of career that you get good at quickly or you die. Or quit, but that's the lame option.
The criminal is the easy part. Placating a panicked animal without merely knocking it senseless is another thing entirely, and entirely out of Lizzie's depth. The horse takes a few steps back when Izuku steps forward, standing its ground so far.
That is, until Snagglefoot Miffen screams out of godsdamn nowhere and scares it into running. The way he laughs once the horse runs, despite his situation, makes it clear that he's done this on purpose.
Furious, Lizzie marches over and punches him in the head. He slumps over, knocked out.
It's probably fine.]
no subject
The scream and the horse bolting are all enough to make Izuku jump on the spot and try and run after the bolting horse!! But he knows it's immediately useless that he tries to do that because there is no way that he's going to be able to catch a horse on foot. No way.
...] Ahh...!! If I had my quirk...
[He mutters this quietly to himself. If he had his abilities from back home he might have actually been able to catch a horse on foot thanks to his speed boosts. But that power is gone. And it leaves something aching in his chest.
He looks over his shoulder at Lizzie.]
I think we're going to have to learn how to track a horse through the woods... [He blinks at that knocked-out guy. Is he... okay??] Maybe we should bring him in first before we do that, then he'll be out of our way.
no subject
Your quirk?
[She won't harp on it too much--they have more important things to do--but she's curious all the same.]
That's probably a sound idea. At the very least, he won't be able to sabotage our efforts any further.
[She walks over to where he's dangling and hoists him over her shoulder. Don't worry too much about his current state.]
And perhaps we'll be lucky and the horse will have calmed down by the time we're done.
no subject
[Don't worry about Izuku, he's just still lamenting the fact that he's lost his powers from home. It's still a bit of a sore spot, it seems!
But right now they have a criminal to deal with. And even if he doesn't have his powers from home that doesn't stop him from wanting to do the right thing. And sometimes that's kicking some criminal butt. And throwing them into the hands of the authorities as well.
When Lizzie takes the man, Izuku comes to go with her, checking his bindings to make sure they're tight enough should he wake up.]
Alright, let's get back to town. We can leave him with the proper people where he won't go around stealing what isn't his again.
[Hopefully the justice system is fair here.]
no subject
But only if she has to.]
That sounds good. If nothing else, we can be content that we've stopped him even if we can't recover what's already lost.
no subject
[It's still a shame about losing the loot, though. Hopefully, they'll be able to find it. Izuku wonders...]
Lizzie-san, can I ask you something?
[Just some casual talking as they haul in a dirtbag.]
no subject
[Sometimes a partial win is the best you can hope for. And hey, this isn't nothing--especially for how poorly the escapade started. She still has the marks on her face to prove that.]
And sure, go ahead. Ask me anything.
no subject
Are you... used to this sort of thing? I- I mean... Being so ready to jump in to help and take down a criminal. It's almost like...
[He starts muttering.]
It's almost like you're a hero, a lot like the rabbit hero Mirko in my homeworld. She's- She's really amazing...! And strong, she's one of the top heroes in my city.
no subject
The smile she gives him is touched and grateful.]
Back home, I'm what we call an adventurer. Some are only in it for the coin, but I like to help people where I can. This isn't the first time I've had to pursue a villain like our friend here.
I'm flattered that I remind you of someone so remarkable.
