🧙 WHO: Emerald & YOU!
⚔️️ WHAT: Top is open prompts, individual prompts in comments.
🕒 WHEN: Early to mid-March
🗺️ WHERE: Various
⚠️ WARNINGS: None yet, will add as needed.
A. Flowers and Dragons (TDM Prompt)
[ Emerald isn't much of a flower person. She doesn't mind them, but in the grand scheme of things, she's more a fan of realistic wants and needs-- she's not the type of person to get drawn in because something is pretty. The baby dragons are kind of a menace though, and without her aura to protect her, she'd rather do things the peaceful way...
At least her particular style of magic is especially useful for this kind of a mission. She may not have mastered hard light by any means, but in the months she's been here, she's become very adept at illusion and glamours. It's more a focus of familiarity and want, but right now, it's got her with one hand up to hold an invisibility illusion up while a dragon is mere feet from her and she's kneeling down with a basket full of little purple chive blossoms. She's doing her best to fill up the basket with one hand, but it's obviously a little messy.
If you come near her, she'll stop to put her fingers up to her lips. She can't control what the dragon hears, after all. Please don't alert the baby, she's trying her best to get this done without disaster. ]
B. Homesick or sick of home?
[ While Emerald's happy that they have inn rooms to fall back on, it's a stark reminder that it's still not a home. There's no one there waiting for her, and the longer she's here, refusing to let anyone get close (even if some people are clearly trying) the more it reminds her that she's alone. It also leaves her to think a lot about what a home means to her, and why she wants one here. It would be natural to want to stay in that inn if she felt like she had a place back in her world. Because the inn should be temporary-- a reminder that this is not forever, that they'll all go home one day. It's getting harder and harder for her to see why that's a good thing, the longer being here reminds her what it's like not to spend every day in a constant variable state of terror.
And yet, she finds herself wandering around an open house. The place she's at is too big for her to live at alone, for sure, but anyone can wander in easily and see her looking caught up in her own thoughts. If she does catch you looking though, it'll quickly be covered up with her narrowing her eyes. ]
Do you want something? You're supposed to be looking at the house, not me.
[ Well, she's still got an attitude problem whenever she's caught having feelings. ]

Instead she just glares and sticks her tongue out before proceeding. They explained the rules, and Emerald thinks she's got the advantage here for sure. She just has to get to one of the magic squares first, then she can use illusion magic to hide where the actual steps are. ]
Aren't you a little old for this?
[ She taunts as she waits for them to get the go ahead to start. ]

Maybe... but I'll still kick your ass. Just like Cinder's.
[She's intentionally trying to make her angry, yes, how did you know?]
the best gift
[ Emerald's eyes narrow. It's obvious that she's more than a little defensive of Cinder. But she's decidedly not as upset as she would be if Cinder were actually dead. ]
You don't have any more magic than I do here.
[ The countdown to start begins! 3, 2.. ]
for morgan
Emerald took out her phone as she leaned against wall adjacent to the door of the bunny cafe she'd trapped Flufferton to. She wasn't against calling a partner. As soon as the ringing stopped and Morgan picked up (or she caught the voicemail) she started talking. ]
Morgan, you're good at annoying things, can you meet me at...
[ She started giving the address, but cut off halfway through, as there's a rabbit running right out of the door past her, surprised exclamations from the pop-up shop owner after the rabbit leapt right past the boundaries and booked it. Emerald started chasing, putting Morgan on speaker so she can focus on it. ]
Just get here!
no subject
[Considering what Emerald finds annoying, he's sure he's going to love this. Especially because it means he gets to run through the streets, coat trailing behind him, looking all cool and action-hero-y.]
[Look, you gotta love what you do, man.]
You in trouble?
no subject
[ She definitely doesn't need a rescue or anything. ]
I'm hunting an animal and I'm not supposed to kill it, just get over here!

That turning around lead her to spot a familiar face. ]
Beat it, I'm here with that guy. Naoto!
[ She calls out for him. If she manages to get his attention, she'll gesture him over to hopefully prove to her stubborn seat neighbor that she really isn't interested. At least talking to him will make waiting for the Snagglefooted target to show up a little more exciting. ]
no subject
... You know him?
no subject
[ Unfortunately, Emerald doesn't really concern herself with the fact that he could literally go creep on some other girl. It's not her problem. This is the easiest solution to her problem if he's not planning on giving up easily. ]

Even if such a possibility were ultimately intimidating to her. But she'd never been able to meet people easily.
But who to approach? Chris felt the social anxiety creeping in, and so she found herself backing away from people... and ultimately, into someone, along with her bow and quiver strapped to her back.
"Oh! I'm sorry!"
Re: wildcard
"Watch where you're going."
It comes out automatically when her concentration is broken by some girl walking into her and she gives the girl a little shove to get her to back up. Emerald's probably not the best person in the world for someone with social anxiety to run into, particularly since she's off on her own for a reason to begin with.

After a moment, she blinked, and asked, "Uh, are you here to train as well?"

Kate squints, sceptical of that offer, but since she's going in that direction, she may as well see if she can run into whoever it is. maybe they'll be competent. maybe not. )
... You?
( or, maybe they'll be very fucking familiar instead. )
no subject
What, did they send you up after me?
no subject
They said someone went up and I could catch 'em.
( a shrug. )
Really don't want people going alone.

He saw the gesture and nodded. When he was closer he knelt crouched down and started picking flowers...and putting them in her basket. Look, picking with one hand while managing magic had to be at least a little troublesome and since she was making his life easier as well he thought he should help even if she probably wasn't trying to help him specifically.
His own basket of white flowers was neatly arranged. Not for any love of flowers but just because he's a bit of a neat freak.]
Re: A
...And if he does try to run off with her stuff, she may not be great at the attack magic but she sure as hell knows how to throw a sickle into someone's back from a distance. She'd really rather it not come to that, though. ]
no subject
When she turned and tapped her shoulder, he nodded and went back to filling the basket. It doesn't take long before he's finished and he reaches over to tap her shoulder.
He picks up his own basket and, all things considered, it would probably better to let her decide if she wants to take her own basket or let him hold it. He wouldn't want anyone to mistake him for a thief.]

Maybe it'll respond to a... gentler touch. A healer maybe? Healers can do like.. soothing things. SHe doesn't want to chase the stupid rabbit again. So Emerald thinks for a moment, then decides to do the best thing she can think of.
She calls Pyrrha Nikos, despite that she really has no right to do so. And now she's waiting at the entrance of the first cafe on her list of places she knew he hadn't already hit up, hands in pockets, leaning against the outer wall. ]
no subject
So here she is at the cafe, arriving only a few minutes after Emerald. She gives the other girl a little wave and a friendly smile. ]
Hello, Emerald! I'm sorry I kept you waiting!
[ She does feel a little bad about being late, so... ]
How about I treat us to the food today to make up for it?
no subject
[ As if Pyrrha needs to make up for anything to Emerald... well, no one said Emerald was a great person. ]
Not from the rabbit cafe though. I'm about to go break down that Lady Bledsoe's door because she can't get a stupid fence for the rat.
[ It's a rabbit, not a rat, but Emerald is Annoyed with a capital A. ]

Someone she knows is apparently a lose definition. She's not really close to anyone, and she still has her suspicions about this guy. He seemed like he knew her and if she's got a long journey up to Celliwig to begin with... two birds, one stone.
She walks by him and bumps her shoulders into his. ]
Hey.
no subject
He is also adjusting to knowing people and them not knowing him, it has not happened often, most of the familiar faces had recognized him.
Whatever is his final thought and as he sees Em at the same moment he is given a shoulder bump he flashes a lazy grin.]
Hey stranger, find any good coats lately?
no subject
[ She makes a gesture, leaning back like she's checking out his coat in jest. ]
No, don't see anything I have to have.
