A quest gone wrong (but at least you're rich)
🧙 WHO: Sokka & You
⚔️️ WHAT: February Catch-All
🕒 WHEN: February
🗺️ WHERE: Bridge and Camelot
⚠️ WARNINGS: NPC death and post-quest angst
A: A Quest for the Pure of Heart: aftermath
(cw: NPC death)
[Of course Sokka would have gone for a quest that promised him so much money. Even if the task was very suspicious, it couldn't have been anything too dangerous, right?
Right?
Sokka is on his knees near the bridge after getting himself out of there challenge, cursing himself for being so stupid and falling for something like this. There was no one around to help him at the time so he couldn't even save the old man. He had waited and no one had arrived after Morgannas visit to pick up his crystal.
He contemplates on messaging someone to come meet him halfway, but instead he decides against it and starts walking. He feels awful, but he doesn't want to stay near the place any longer than he has to. So there's a very gloomy young man walking. Almost like he lost a part of himself back there.]
B: Training
[Once he's back in Camelot, Sokka heads for the training grounds to take out his frustration on the quest (and himself) on some training dummies. While he could just use a sword or any of his other weapons, but there was only one appropriate way for him to vent.
Fire was burning bright. With every kick or punch he made towards the dummies new flames ignited. Even sometimes when he didn't intend to make flames, they appeared. The fire was strong with him whenever he was angry, he had noticed.
Maybe it wasn't the healthiest way of coping, but he'd rather be angry than crying, really. And no one should have complaints because he's training his magic.]
C: Emotional Eating
[Though he does have to deal with the situation with another way. With a lot of ice cream, since he heard somewhere it's a good emotional food. Which he is definitely eating back at the inn common rooms. He'd do it in his room, but there's no freezer there so he'd have to walk back to fetch more or let them melt while he ate.
He'd already eaten two liters of ice cream so far and going through his third rather fast.
And yes, he's suffered at least two brain freezes already.]
D: Wildcard
Hit me up in PM's or
sasageyo to plot something else.

He watches Sokka for a while, curious. He hasn't really seen elemental magic used like that before, and maybe he can learn something. But at the same time, he doesn't really want to interrupt. Maybe if he just leans on this training dummy? And no, it rotates, so down he goes!]
Waah!

... you okay?
no subject
[Tsuna half-replies, half-groans. He sits up, more embarrassed than anything else. Loser Tsuna strikes again.]
S-sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt you, I was just curious.

[Alice had come to visit the hotel to meet with some of the... well, actually, she didn't know what they were called, visitors? Certainly not citizens of the realm. Well, was SHE a citizen of the realm? King Arthur WAS the once and future king of her home.
Well, that was neither here nor there. She had wanted to stop in for some tea when she saw the gentleman she had such pun with.]
You look so sad, what's wrong? [Ah children, always so straight to the point.]
no subject
I just had a rough quest, that's all. It didn't go as planned and... now I feel like an idiot.

[ What the fuck, Sokka. Karma wasn't originally going to get himself anything, but after Sokka's second pint, Karma can no longer fight the compulsion to grab himself a mug of hot chocolate, stirring it with a candy cane that, when he pulls it out, has been sucked to a sharp point. ]
Did you just get dumped, or what?
no subject
[That's a simple solution, isn't it. Though he doesn't say it rudely or anything, just kind of an advice... ish.]
No? I heard ice cream's a good food for when you're upset.
no subject
[ It's a girl thing, he wants to say, but what does he know about indulgence eating? He's a sulker when he's upset. ]
Siiiiiiince it's not working, I'll take that ice cream off your hands for you.

And it was there she saw a man a little younger than her on his knees near the bridge. It didn't look like he was injured, but from the way he got up and started staggering away in a daze, she couldn't be sure.
So, she found herself carefully wandering over to check on him.]
Woah...! Hey, are you okay?
no subject
I'm not injured, if that's what you mean.
no subject
She'll just be getting a water bottle out her bag.]
Here, have some water, okay? You can still get dehydrated even if it's not that hot out you know?

After a moment of hesitation. Mickey halts his own training to quietly and gently approach Sokka. ]
Hey, um... you okay there, pal?
no subject
If I said I was, would you believe me?
no subject
[ Mickey's no liar, no sir. ]
Do you wanna talk about it?
(no subject)
A
[Well. Except for this guy, apparently? She happens to notice the young man wandering in the same direction as her, since she was walking with more energy in her steps. She should probably leave him alone... But she doesn't. She catches up to him easily, and her head tilts as she peers at him.]
...What happened to you? Did you drop something off the bridge back there?
[That's clearly the only reason anyone would have for being sad right now.]
no subject
Just my soul, that's all.
[That's a bit dramatic.]
no subject
[It'd be pretty impressive if he could drop his soul. Or pretty alarming. One of those two things.]
But if that is the case, then I could help fetch it for you. I'm sure we can stick it back in you somehow.

Oh no. Oh no. Oh nononononono! Luckily they have these devices!]
Hey!! Where are you?!
[Please answer! Hey, answer please! She has a really bad feeling about this...]
no subject
Well, she's going to find out soon anyway.]
im headed back.
i screwed up.

Hi. I'm not really in the mood for games.
[Oh. And that.]

...Sokka.
[ His voice is heavy with concern, judgment, admonition. Zuko's not the type to eat his feelings — in fact, quite the opposite, very much the type to starve them out — and he's also not one for a sweet tooth, and on top of that certainly not drawn to something frozen even if he were. This just looks bad to the fire prince. He's eating so fast... ]
Not only are you gonna get sick eating that much, that fast, but you're gonna make me sick watching you...
only 23 to go after I hit all of them
Then don't watch? I know what I'm doing.
