[Sometimes, Tamaki isn't so certain he really understands the logic behind the quests that wind up being advertised. This is one of them. While the bullying is terrible, he's not so sure if this is really helping anyone.]

I've been more uncomfortable. [His complaint is practically mumbled into the neck of the sweater he's wearing, but he certainly doesn't seem like he's struggling to hold the chair in his hands.]

...It seems a little petty, doesn't it? [The chair thing. Isn't there a better solution?]

Perhaps a little...

[ Don't tell that to the elves, though, but Pyrrha agrees. This all seems a little much, and she moves to wipe a bead of sweat off of her forehead with her shoulder. ]

Maybe we can brainstorm some ideas of how we can pass the time a little faster?

[He's pretty sure he'd get cursed, or WORSE, if he said this directly to the elves. Which is probably why he's keeping it to himself. Well, himself and Pyrrha now.]

I'm not really good at that. [It almost sounds like that's all he's going to say, but he follows it up with a quick:] But I'll try.

[Nejire would probably have suggested making a game out of it, 30 questions or something. Tamaki glances over at his partner and eyes her closely. Maybe that would work here? He certainly needs to work on making friends.]

...Have you played 30 questions before?

[ A wise decision, Tamaki. Likewise, his suggestion seems to be a good one, judging by how Pyrrha's face lights up. ]

Oh! I've heard of it before, and I've played it a few times as an icebreaker.

[ Though back at home, most of the questions she'd gotten were about her fame, her Semblance, and her fighting techniques. She's expecting things this time around to be a little more...personal, maybe? Something beyond the surface Pyrrha that people would see on Remnant. That would be nice. ]

I'd be happy to play that with you. Would you like to go first, or shall I?

It's not a bad game, if people aren't cruel. ...But you don't strike me as someone like that.

[The type to ask too-nosy questions, or questions meant to put someone on the spot and embarrass them. At her enthusiasm and the following question he pauses, eyes drifting up in a thoughtful manner as he readjusts the chair in his hands.]

I can ask first. [It seems like that would be easiest right?]

Did you have powers before you got here? Before the magic.

[ She tries not to be cruel, at least! And his question is one she's down to answer herself, so: ]

I guess you could call it a power? We have abilities known as Semblances back at home. They're essentially manifestations of our own innate abilities, and I can see why people would call them "powers". Definitely not magic, though.

My Semblance was based on polarity, and I had the ability to manipulate metal.

[ Which she used very strategically. She really misses being able to use it; healing magic is out of her element. ]

I'd ask the same question, but I think that's against the rules, right? So how about this: What kind of magic can you do here?

Polarity... [Honestly, that makes a good bit of sense, that it would affect metal. He'd be curious to see how that worked, which is unfortunate considering their situation.]

It's similar back home. Quirks are all physical abilities we're born with but - ah.

[he pauses, readjusting his grip on the chair he's carrying.]

I can talk to animals, which is new. Transforming into them is similar to what I could do before but different enough that I have to think about it completely differently.

[But it's his turn to ask a question, right? He doesn't ask yet, trying to come up with one that would be more interesting to answer.]

Oh! That sounds like it could be fun. Which animals do you--

[ ...she was about to ask him a question, but she cuts herself off and puts her free hand over her mouth. ]

Oops, almost forgot that it was your turn! I'll save it for my next question.

[ Her grin turns mildly embarrassed. She got a little too eager, there! ]

[It's small, but the excitement makes him laugh. It comes out as more of a soft exhale, but the expression on his face is very subtly a smile.]

It's okay.

Since I can't ask the same question... [he frowns again.] What are your hobbies? Or do you study too much?

Oh, well -- if I'm being entirely honest, I spent a good amount of time back at home training and studying. That being said, I am a fan of cooking and reading.

[ Listen, she'll roll with two questions! They're good ones, she thinks. ]

I guess now is a good time for me to ask what kind of animals you enjoy talking to the most? I'm curious to know their thoughts.
