CONTENT WARNINGS:
- 1st Prompt: --
- 2nd Prompt: No snakes, despite an item being called "Serpent's Egg," but because of that we wanted to note it in case anyone was worried. Actual warning for the possibility of altered states (mild).
DATES: Prismagic - July 19th, Into the Light - July 20
PROMPT BRIEFS
Prismagic
- Paint Party - Everyone wears white or black, throws paint at each other. Have fun.
- Channel magic to light mages, who funnel everything into the spheres gathered in the TDM. Mega light beams go into the sky, light everything up.
- Ritual done? Total blackout time. Explore in the dark, try to get home, use magic.
- Sun comes back at sunrise! So does the moon once night falls. First moon is full.
- Characters go into the Dusklight Forest as familiars, which allows them to be pulled into the mirrorverse of Camelot called the Lightdusk.
- Characters can find opposite versions of themselves to interact with (or other characters- players can play either version as they please).
- Different types of familiars can complete different tasks- Water dives for cresses needed to see invisible herbs, flyers carry characters over golden sleepy herbs, landbounds burrow out with the eggs.
Part of the reason that the ritual to restore Avalon’s sun and moon is done during the time of the summer solstice is because it’s an auspicious time that ambient light magic is stronger than normal, which allows for the rituals to be done without a more drastic act to increase magical potency. The magical spheres that were collected at the start of the month are part of this, and will be distributed to anyone with light magic on what would be the night of the full moon. Light mages are the ones who will lead tonight’s event, which will lead to an increase in energy and therefore, an increase in magical output. |
| |
Everyone is invited to Camelot’s town square to participate in what is essentially a paint party under the glow of the Calamity. You MUST wear all white or all black– there will be a few vendors selling simple outfits, since you can keep them after the ritual anyway. The town square has been magically enchanted to be covered with a thick layer of room-temperature snow to protect the ground and buildings. All around, there are buckets of different, vibrant colors of paint. There are water balloons you can dip in and throw at other people, paint brushes with which to fling or apply paint to other characters going as wild as possible to create a fun/high energy party, or you can just use magic to spread it far and wide. There are neons, pastels, saturated colors, and more. Those who have gathered spells like Pigmentia will find they can enchant the paint to change colors as they please, even creating multi-colored pigments. The point is to get as many participants decorated in a variety of colors, which will represent the different varieties and perceptions of light. After a fun evening of throwing paint at each other, everyone should hold hands with another participant and whisper the name of the nearest light mage to channel their magic to them as they pour every ounce of energy they have into the spheres, which will grow as bright as the moon and, when powered, will shoot a beam of energy up into the sky. When they are all lit, it will be as bright as if it were daylight even without the sun or moon yet visible in the sky. Do not look directly into the beams for more than 3 seconds or you may find yourself magically blind for the next week or so. (Don’t worry– it’s magic, it’ll go away after that or sooner with the help of a good healer, which can bring it down to 2 days with a few heavy healing sessions.) The instructions from here are similar to the original Celliwig ritual, sans lava:
This is where things get a little weird. Once everyone has filled the needs of the sphere, they will unleash a blast of light that covers all of Camelot in white light for a moment, then all light disappears. A total blackout. No electronics, no lamps, all fires are extinguished, glow in the dark sticks stop working, everything! And it’ll stay that way throughout the night until sunrise, when the sun will finally rise again. But you… may want to be careful trying to get home. There’s definitely no way to see unless you use magic to light your way. --------------------------------- INTO THE LIGHT
King Arthur and the Fairy Queen have worked together to compose a plan that requires three items of legend, long lost to time: The Serpent’s Egg, Lancelot’s Ring of Dispell, and The Lapis Exillis. The first item of these is the Serpent’s Egg, something that Merlin had once found– a totem of wisdom that though it cannot predict the future, grants the ability to immediately see and understand probabilities of each and every action, live. (Among a number of other things to a well-versed sorcerer who knows how to extract all manner of wisdom from it, but Merlin’s head is big enough that no one should ask for the brag fest that will ensue on all the uses he got out of his long ago.) This egg glows like the moon and is left behind by a creature known as an ouroboros that lives within the Lightdusk: a long, medieval-style dragon that frequently chews upon its own tail.
No, that wasn’t a typo. When one enters the Dusklight Forest as a familiar at a time of twilight, they’ll be pulled into the forest floor and released within the “upside-down” of the Dusklight Forest, a mirror version of Camelot. The buildings are the same, the people are physically the same, the trees and water and air is the same. Mostly. There are mirror versions of every person who lives in Camelot, but the mirror version will behave in the opposite manner of their original. For example: a character who is virtuous, brave, and true in the true Camelot may be a conniving, cowardly liar in the mirror verse– which can be difficult to detect, given they may lie to act like their original selves to get what they want out of you. Which could be anything– Lightdusk versions of oneself may still like the same things, hobbies, people, and so on. On the other hand, the Lightdusk versions of characters who are less virtuous may be a big help to your quest if you’re willing to admit you might be the “evil twin” in this scenario. Which leads us to the goal of this venture: Finding the Serpent’s Egg. Different types of familiars will be of different help for this quest. Those of an aquatic nature will be able to explore the waters of the Lightdusk in search of a special type of vibrant green cresses that grow at the bottom of waters frequented by ouroboros during nesting. Collect the green cresses and share with others, which will give each person who consumes them the ability to see an invisible herb. With the cresses consumed, the herb appears to be made of pure gold, sprouting from the ground. It emits a sort of happy feeling when you’re near it when it’s just one or two of them, but follow them to find a trail that eventually leads to a field of them. At the center of that field will be the ouroboros’s nest. Once you find the field, however, that is when familiars of the aerial persuasion will be necessary. After all, the golden herbs en-masse cause any who wander into the field to fall into a slumber, to be consumed as prey by the ouroboros. Oops. Those with flight will need to carry those without to the nest to avoid contact with the golden herbs. While that can be done to get in, magical creatures like the Ouroboros sometimes protect their nests with anti-traveling spells. Once you’re above the nest, the power of flight, levitation, teleportation (including personal magic, familiar magic, and totems) will be disabled. This means that the land-based familiars will need to use a special item Merlin will be providing to any who go on the quest– a special stone that will burrow into the ground and head out in a random direction, named after his trusty dog Glain who had found him his Serpent’s Egg back in the day. Glain Stones can’t really be directed, so while they will burrow under the golden herbs, they can’t be used to get into the nest as they just go down and out in a random direction. It should be large enough for most familiars to crawl through– but it’s recommended the land familiar go first, as many flying familiars don’t have good hands to clear the way if any debris is ahead. Be sure to help whichever friend flew you in get out safely! Especially be sure to watch out for Ouroboros barreling after you through the tunnels to get their egg back, as they are known to swallow more than just their tails whole and have a talent for nullification magic– meaning they can stop whatever spells you’ve got going just by being close, making them harder to fight in general. This is where some additional members to your party from the Lightdusk could come in handy, if you think you can trust them, as Lightdusk natives are immune to the Ouroboros’s nullification magic. Make it out safe and sound with a Serpent’s Egg and head back to bring your Serpent’s Egg to Merlin on the Edge of the Dusklight Forest. He can’t go in as his magic is bound to a familiar right now, so he’ll be collecting the Eggs to verify their authenticity and keep them safe until the other necessary materials are found. Oh, and don’t worry about accidentally activating their ability. It takes a lot of studying and time to figure out how to effectively use them, though you may get an inkling (thinking Spider-Man’s spidey sense) that something is about to happen while holding one. |
Archer (EMIYA) | Fate/Stay Night: UBW | OTA
[Archer came because he's tired of the state of the sky but he doesn't look exactly happy about it. He wished there was a better way to do this than make a mess everywhere. At least there's the magical blanket of snow to help so there won't be horrible cleaning duties afterwards. Could he also get a magical snow cover?
Alas, no. Instead he's dressed in an all black, simple outfit. Funny enough his hair also fits the theme, being white, and he can already predict his hair is going to be a pain to clean after this.
Even if he claims not to enjoy this event he's clearly enjoying aiming water balloons at unsuspecting people. Especially the ones who seem like they're trying to avoid being hit and becoming messy. Or just people he knows and likes to mess with. His aim is very sharp and precise.]
B. Something from yourself
[As a blood mage, Archer has taken up a habit of carrying something sharp to prick himself when needed. He has a small-ish knife that he looks at before looking at anyone close to him.]
Do you want to do this ritual together? I'm offering a drop of blood for it.
[Sure, that's a nice conversation starter...]
C. Blackout
[With no light magic or anything similar to help, Archer is kind of lost of how to navigate in the dark. However he can at least stop himself from bumping into people by sensing their minds through cognitive magic.
That still doesn't stop him from walking straight into a wall. But at least it wasn't a person and this whole thing didn't become an awkward lie on top of each other on the ground situation.]
Fuck.
[But man it hurt to bump into a solid wall.]
D. Into the Light
[There's a pigeon sized phoenix near the field of golden herbs. He's not close enough to actually be affected by them, but he's there waiting for anyone who needs a ride. Unfortunately Archer's familiar is not capable of talking to anyone except Archer so he cant commicate and tell anyone he's offering rides to them. He's mostly trying to nod his head and flap his wings a little bit to let them know that he can do that.
... of course there's also the problem of him being pigeon sized so any larger familiars would need to find someone else to give them a ride. Very unfortunate.]
E. Wildcard
[Opposite Archer, as described here, available in this prompt.]
A
Well, so is Lancer, even if he doesn't remember much of it. Even he can be stealthy, although he's not an Assassin, as he sneaks up on the other Servant and proceeds to slam a color balloon on his head, cackling as he does so.]

But she doesn't seem to be carrying any water balls with her. Hmm... Well, anyway, she stops right in front of Archer. She's smiling at him and looking at him and trying to look as innocent as she can (as if that ever works because he knows her so well...)]

Elsa | Frozen | OTA
[Elsa has chosen a completely white outfit for the occasion. She seems excited at this kind of an activity, especially since it seems a lot like harmless fun. She's definitely gathering some water balloons to toss them at anyone she might know, but also a paint brush for later. She uses her kinetic magic to throw the balloons if her opponents are further away, but she's not using too much power.
She seems to be really enjoying herself, even laughing whenever she gets hit with some colors and getting stains all over her clothes.
Any of her CR is also subjected to her painting their face with a brush. You're welcome.]
B. Blackout
[Getting home like this was definitely going to be interesting. She thought that waiting for a moment for her eyes to settle would help but since it's a total blackout, no such luck.
Of course that means possible accidental bumps into other people... or awkwardly touching their body somehow when she tries to navigate with her hands.]
Sorry...! [This was awkward and she's kinda glad no one can see her face.]
C. Into the Light
[Elsa is beginning to realize that this was a mistake. Without arms to help, how was she supposed to do anything? She kept jumping forward, at least trying to help figure out what she could do here.]
How did the Snowgies... oh right, they carried things on their heads. Balancing them... if we're looking for eggs that doesn't sound like a good idea.
[This really was a bad idea.]
D. Wildcard

But Elsa catches her off guard, tapping her shoulder and getting her cheek with a brush and a cold, ticklish, smear of paint. )
Eep! ( That already knocks her off balance, but then there's the stray balloon which hits Izumi's knee and makes her buckle, grabbing Elsa by the forearms to try and balance herself, ultimately pulling them both over onto the floor.

Perhaps we can work together.

Xue Yang | The Untamed/Chenqing Ling | OTA
[As a Dark mage, he has no business lighting anything up. However when darkness falls, he feels like his time - his element - has finally come. If your character is unlucky enough to stumble across one of his curses, they will either find themselves walking in circles for half an hour or feel like their skin is crawling with insects (again for half an hour). Hey, there isn't any pain involved and getting lost is a given considering they are all stumbling around in the pitch black, right? At least if they make enough noise trying to scratch away the invisible pests, maybe someone will be able to find them.
See? He's not being too awful.]
B. Into the Light (Dusklight Forest)
[The change comes upon him smoothly and when he looks down, he sees snowy white paws instead of his feet. His robes, his boots are crumpled on the floor and his senses are heightened. Sniffing the air, he lets out a sound curiously close to a cackle and races off to the forest. There is work to be done and his paws itch to dig!
He only hopes the magic isn't leading him astray. It's hard to ignore like this - that incessant pull. If your character sees a streak of white, join him? Stop him? Hug him? He is fluffy.]
C. Into the Light (Opposites)
[Within the forest, there is another Xue Yang. A far more...polished...version. He is adorned in golden yellow and white - the colors valued by the Jin sect - and his hair is gathered into a neat ponytail. Save for the two strands that always seem to frame his face.
His sword, unlike Jiangzai, is openly sheathed at his waist and both of his hands are whole and without a single scar.
Yet not everything is different. He does pop a candy in his mouth as he walks under the trees, humming as he enjoys the sweet.]
D. Wildcard
[Got an idea? Leave me a prompt or poke me on Plurk at
B-ish?
The little white cat finds the other little white creature in short order and immediately begins to stalk it, trying to work out just what it is before he decides if he wants to play with it or... eat it.

Jean Kirstein | Attack on Titan | OTA
[Jean didn't think this would be as fun as it would be. Throwing paint all over people is actually pretty relaxing and it will help with their current situation so he's enjoying it to the fullest. His all black clothes were already filled with different colors as well. Really, he seems way younger than he usually seems, laughing and just having fun like this.
After contemplating it for a moment he decides to turn into an eagle and drop some water balloons filled with paint from the air onto people to get more paint delivered at once. It's a working solution and he does this a few times.]
B. Blackout
[At the beginning of the blackout, Jean tried two things. One was using the floral illuminator, but even that didn't seem to work under these circumstances. The second was turning into an animal that could see in the dark (a cat) and navigating like that. That seemed to work pretty well so he decides to turn into a much bigger cat: a tiger, to be exact and park in a corner. Since he can talk in this form he offers:]
I can help you get back to your place. I'm currently a tiger so I can see pretty well in the dark.
[Just your friendly neighborhood tiger here.]
C. Camelot patrol
[Jean didn't go to the Lightdusk woods. He did swap bodies with his familiar earlier in the month and the experience went well, but he figured it was better if some of them remain in Camelot just in case. It sort of feels like it's his responsiblity as a knight, too.
He's decided to patrol the city on top of the armored archaeopteryx. It's a good way to bond with her, too.]
Let's go find a shade to take a break in, okay?
[He pets the archaeopteryx and receives an agreeing chirp as they continue towards the park.]
D. Wildcard
[Opposite Jean, as described here, available in this prompt.]
B
[Thankfully, a Food Soul's ability to be able to see well in the dark is nothing magical and simply a matter of their natural biology, and it isn't something that has ever been taken from him by any of these places that see fit to remake him. He glances down at the tiger - the voice is one he recognises - and he impulsively gives the large cat a soft, brief pat on the head.]
Do you suppose that this is a sign it worked, or a sign that it didn't?

Mamoru Chiba | Sailor Moon | OTA
[Mamoru feels like he's finally able to do something to help here. That's why he's completely focusing on pouring his energy into the light orb that was given to him, making sure to give it his all. His all black outfit is full of colorful colors after the paint war party. He spent most of it saving energy, but did throw a few water balloons and painted some cute hearts on Usagi's face.
He has never used this much light magic before so it's very tiring to him, but he manages to make his light orb shoot the beam of light into the sky and avoid looking at the beam directly.
After all of it is done though he needs a moment to sit down. Yeah that took a lot out of him.]
B. Blackout
[Despite using most of his energy on the ritual, Mamoru is using his light magic in small portions to help people walk in the darkness. The light flickers sometimes and he needs to rest some more, but he's doing what he can to help without going too much overboard.]
Just a moment... I need to rest up before using more magic.
C. Plant maintenance
[Due to the exhausting ritual, Mamoru is staying behind in Camelot to look after his garden. Now the sun was back up he wanted to make sure all of them were receiving sunlight and doing alright. He had used a lot of green magic to keep them in good shape and is relieved he doesn't need to do that so much anymore.]
Soon we'll have strawberries... Usako will be thrilled.
[He smiles at the thought of Usagi's excitement over strawberries.]
D. Wildcard

So she's in a prime position to see one of the Light mages sitting down and manages to make her way over before the climax of the spell has every light source winking out.]

Ren Jinguji | Uta no Prince-sama | OTA
[Ren is wearing all white and using different sized paint brushes to spread all kinds of colors around. This isn't new to him as he's done something like this for a game show as an idol, but at least this was for more than entertainment.]
Do you want a painting on your back or on your face? I can do that and I promise it's going to be a beautiful picture.
[Most likely just a flower.]
B. Blackout
[Ah, the complete darkness. Technically he could use his healing magic to light parts of him up, but it wouldn't be enough to see and it wouldn't be convenient in the long run. So walking blindly it was! At least he tries to feel the surroundings with his hands so he doesn't end up bumping into something or someone.
But he ends up falling into a small pit instead because he can't really do that with his legs.]
Oww... who put this here?
[Someone should really remind him he could at least teleport to his castle with Toto's Totem because currently he's forgetting this small fact.]
C. Into the Light
[Ren's familiar was a fox with wings. A fox spirit - or a fox fairy. So technically he was both land and flying type of a familiar but as he was he wasn't that used to flying yet. He kept practicing flight near the golden herb field but didn't feel very confident about it quite yet.]
Flying with wings is more complicated than I thought it was.
[His voice is feminine which he was already used to. It was definitely different from Ren himself completely.]
Excuse me, do you know how to use wings? [He asks anyone passing by, wings or not.]
D. Wildcard
[Opposite Ren, as described here, available in this prompt.]
C
[Ren may not recognize the voice (it sounds sort of like a stern elder lady, or it would if the vocabulary was nicer), but he's seen Rei with his familiar before, so it's pretty easy to guess who he's talking to.]
Flying mammals aren't supposed to work like that... but I shouldn't really question things after this long in Avalon. It's probably some magic shit. [Phoenix Rei extends a clawed foot towards Ren, talons clicking together thoughtfully.] You got hollow bones in there, bud?

Toshirou Hijikata | Gintama (Primatica CRAU)
A ⦿ Ritual
[Okay, this was fun!! Hijikata is breathing hard after what feels like hours of darting around and dodging his fellow outworders' paintbrush-, water balloon- and paint magic attacks and doling out his own share of colours as well. By now the hooded black robe thing he bought is thoroughly stained - as it should be. Now it's time to get more serious, though, as the light mages step into their positions with the magical spheres. He offers his hands to whoever wants to partner with him for this.]
Remember, don't look into the light once it gets too bright.
[He doesn't want anyone to go blind on him, even if it would just be temporary!]
B ⦿ Blackout
[Once the spheres reach their limit they drown the whole place in bright white light, and then... darkness. It's darker than the unchanging dim evening gloom from before, really scary in its total blackness. Hijikata, of course, has his fire magic. He summons a flame in each palm.]
Does anyone have torches? I can light yours!
[He'll also take candles! And if someone is really scared he may just escort them home. He's not the only elemental mage around to keep the fire supply going, after all.]
2) Into the Light
A ⦿ Lightdusk Life
[The Hijikata who lives in the upside-down Camelot heard through the grapevine that people from the other side has been coming in, and so, being a curious and social person, he ventured out to where they had allegedly been popping up. Anyone who tumbles out of the soil and reorients themselves under the same-looking sky may hear him call over from where's he's set up his plush armchair (yes, right here in the outdoors - no worries, of course he didn't carry it himself).]
My, my! Look who it is? How are you? Come over, I've got pralinés!
[Cheery, isn't he?]
B ⦿ Water Cresses
[The Hijikata everyone knows and loves(???), meanwhile, came into the Dusklight in the black-feathered body of his crow tengu familiar. before long he encountered a bit of an issue with the mission objective: he couldn't locate any familiar (well, person in their familiar's guise) who'd be natural swimmer/diver. As such he took off the tall wooden stilt sandals and black robes (he's decent, okay; the feathers cover him) and is currently carefully wading into a pond. This is probably a bad idea, but they need those water cresses!]
Ugh. If I had known this I'd have brought snorkeling gear...
C ⦿ The Serpent's Egg
[With the water cress procured in one way or another the golden herbs can now be seen growing here and there among the trees and bushes, and it's not too hard to follow them to a clearing that's covered in them entirely and providing a safe haven for the ouroboros' nest. Hijikata surveys the area, sharp crow eyes analysisng the situation. For all he can tell there are disproportionally many airworthy familiars on this fetch quest - but hell, he'll do it all on his own if he needs to. Arashi would fret his head off if he knew what his bond partner is doing with his body, but luckily he isn't here. Whether Hijikata did find a water- or earthbound partner or ended up partnering with another flyer, he decisively nods his head at them.]
I'm ready. Let's go, shall we?
[OOC: If you'd like to plot anything out please hit up my plotting post!]
2A
He's more worried about Nyx inhabiting his body than he is inhabiting hers, however briefly, so he sets to work briskly and wings his way over to 'Camelot'. There, his attention is quickly caught by a familiar face...
He lands nearby and stares at Hijikata. The magic... did work, yes? He finds himself second-guessing for a moment. And so for a while, the mirrored Hijikata will find himself being stared at by a dark gwiber familiar. ]

I. Prismatic - Participating?
[Not an event the doctor might normally participate in, but they did have moments were healing magic may be required... and there was some insistence because of certain conditions that pertained to the missing moon. Well, she supposed it made sense; and the way the festival was handled did remind her of another festival she'd witnessed back home.]
[Surprisingly, she could be found with her hands having some colors on them, but her black clothes would have more. She's waiting patiently for a partner for the next step.]
Have you done this before?
[The ritual part. She has, but how comfortable was her partner going to be?]
II. Prismatic - Wolf Moon
[After that blackout, it was nice to see the moon returned the following evening.]
[Of course, where there's a moon, there's a werewolf in the doctor's place, but she's now had months to temper this new form. She could now participate in rather civil activities on her full moon day off, sitting at a late evening café, one leg crossed over the other while she read and enjoyed a beverage.]
[Animals in clothes... must be a sight.]
III. Into the Light
[Only a few times had she considered the size of Eve's form an inconvenience given so many advantages before.]
[But now, traded places with her familiar and expected to tunnel up eggs, her tongue flicks.]
Does anyone know how big these eggs are supposed to be?
[She might have a problem otherwise. Not that she didn't already have a solution in mind of course.]

Zidane Tribal | OTA
I. Prismatic - Paint the Town!
[Maybe mistakes were made, maybe they weren't; either way, Zidane being told there is paint and they're to go wild painting other people meant no one - not a single person - would survive without some manner of new color on them. And with his magic, there's little escape. All white or all black, be ready for a rainbow.]
[What color, what brush, and what image (if any) would he attempt next?]
[That would not be for his next target in sight to decide... unless a more friendly discussion is drummed up before the ambush occurs.]
II. Prismatic - Blackout!
[Okay, should've expected that since the lava did the same during Celliwig's original ritual. But, something tells him the lights were not going to come back in about two minutes - oh boy.]
[Fortunately, he knows spells and has acquired both magical and non-magical items to help out. One Floral Illuminator, or a candlebloom spell later, he has something going. Approaching the nearest person, he's ready to help.]
Okay, which way did you need to go?
III. Into the Light
[Easy to say that Zidane's been around in Avalon - he's not known to stick to a place very well save for being frequent in his township. So, traveling to Lightdusk, one need only seek out a moogle if they're looking for Zidane - he's particularly helpful at this time for crossing over some golden herbs. Just watch the fluffy remarks.]
[However...]
[Like everyone else, another Zidane exists in Lightdusk keeping far and away to himself in the forest. It's been explained - people should know better, right?]
[OOC: Option to encounter Lightdusk!Zidane quite available.]

[Thanatos, at least, has the good sense to keep his voice low when he sees someone obviously setting up for an ambush. Someone he realises that he recognises after a moment, though it had been a while since they had last crossed paths.
He glances up from Zidane's position to the person who appears to be his next target.]
... I see.
[And then he carefully drops into a crouch because... well, someone over six and a half feet in height is easily spotted.] That one, over there?

At Red Wine's suggestion he does wonder how he intends to carry the egg... he picks one of them up himself.]
Let me hold on to it. You ought to go ahead with that digging charm thing so I don't wreck Arashi's feather's in the ground; he'd be on my ass about that. You've got one of those, right? Otherwise I'd have a spare.

Actually maybe we should take more than one egg, just in case it breaks.
[He starts filling eggs into the deep crevices of Arashi's black robes. Surely this won't backfire...]

Stephanie Brown | DC Comics | OTA
Half an hour into the celebration, Steph has already fallen victim to more than a few painters. Her black clothes are almost half covered in splashes and speckles of primarily neon colors, though some darker shades are included. She herself is carrying a small bucket of neon purple paint, along with a variety of large paintbrushes. Just now she's using one with softer bristles to fling big globs at people by smacking the base into her other hand.
"Heads up!" she yells at the back she's targetting next, just to be polite about it.
II - Blackout
"This would be so much easier if we hadn't been half-blinded first," she grumbles good-naturedly. She's still pretty happy from the party, but she doesn't like stubbing her toes any more than the next person. Especially not when she's making herself glow, so she should be able to see these things.
The glow only lights a few feet around her, though, and for the rest she sends bits of light along the ground in front of her like a movie theater staircase.
"Are we getting closer?" she turns back to ask her companion. It's difficult to navigate with so little light to mark the path, but she said she would get them home and that's exactly what she means to do.

Blackout
Unfortunately for Poison, though she has been following Steph the way she's glowing is having the same effect as holding a torch up in front of your eyes in a dark corridor. She's already tripped over a few rocks on the path, the last one having been kicked away with no small measure of irritation.
"We might have missed a turn back there... I'm not sure where we are." At least she sounds... mostly apologetic. "Did we pass that tree growing out of a split boulder yet?"

Fran | Final Fantasy XII | OTA
[For all that the idea of a festival wherein one is meant to cover each other in paint is something new to Fran she's more than willing to get involved. True, her ears are likely to serve as additional targets and there's little she can do about that, save for making sure to wash them well afterwards, but it will hardly be the first time that she has needed to take care to clean them thoroughly after an adventure.
(Even if it will be one of the most colorful.
Her preferred weapon of choice is water balloons, and - unsurprisingly - she has remarkably good aim when she spots someone she deems worthy of a bit more color.]
{Blackout}
[The sudden absence of light, on the other hand, is distinctly less enjoyable. True, it holds no fear for her, and hearing is just as sharp as ever, but that is only useful when people are speaking, and says nothing of what might standing between her and them besides. Nor does she have any sort of magic to light her way - she had not previously thought to attempt to work fire magic into something that might prove suitable and is disinclined to try now.
Instead, she settles for move carefully - while it doesn't stop her from potentially running into people, it does mean that any impacts are less likely to cause injury.
And despite her best efforts collisions do still happen.]
Blackout
At least, for her, being in the dark is hardly troublesome, even without her abilities with animal magic. She's a Keeper of the Moon, seeing in dim lighting isn't tough at all.
Which is probably why her hand is out to steady Fran before she bumps into her, and she speaks aloud for her to hear. ]
Where are you headed to, Fran? I can lead.
