Get out your guns, battles begun.... (February Catch All)
🧙 WHO: Yamamto Takeshi, Various and YOU!
⚔️️ WHAT: Open catch all for February with quests, TDM and random shenanigans
🕒 WHEN: All of February
🗺️ WHERE: All over~
⚠️ WARNINGS: NPC death in comments as I will be doing the Selkie quest. None other than that will update if it changes.
Quest for the Pure of heart: Yamamoto accepted this quest not only for the gold offered which will certainly be good for the three young hitmen. But because he wants to help as much as he can here in Avalon, it seemed a good way to do so. The young man has harvested his crystal, making it across the bridge with ease as if ever there was a pure heart, Yamamoto Takeshi possesses it.
His problem, he is now standing on the other side, torn between completing his task as Morganna instructed or not. Slipping something into a person's food sneakily seems wrong to him. Maybe he should ask the man, tell him about the vial? Honesty is always best right.
As it is, maybe a fellow traveler completing this task would like to accompany him to finish the rest, a little teamwork might motivate him to choose a path, rather than stand there torn between his decision because while one completes the task, another feels like it is the right thing to do.
Ingredient 2: Deez Nuts!
Yamamoto figures with his animal magic and sword, he stands a pretty good chance at this task. So he is there in front of the quests postings and going to flash a beaming smile at anyone who catches his eye. He's clearly a young man on a mission and ready and raring to go.
Anyone who even so much as makes eye contact is going to be met with a grin, a slight wave of his hand, and the following question.
"Yo! Want to help me gather some nuts?"
Wildcard: I am open to any of the quests or TDM prompts, if you'd like a starter for one let me know. Or if you want to fling someone at Yamamoto at random, he can be found training daily, not only his magic but his sword too, or just out and about getting to know people, so feel free to fling a random hey, I see you in the street starter or let me know, and I can write it. Long story short, up for anything, so come on at me; I had a rough couple of months but here for all the tags now. You can get me

Locked to Gokudera: Selkie thief : CW NPC death.
The swordsman is hoping that taking on this quest and completing it as a team will help strengthen what ground they have gained since he arrived. Of course, they will make sure Tsuna is aware of what they are doing as well as the outcome because they don't keep anything from him.
But for now, it is just the Rain and Storm, off to take on a pelt thief.
"Maybe he'll give it back if we ask him?"
You never know till you try, right?
no subject
"I honestly don't care how we take it back. I get the feeling my familiar will be upset if something happens to the Kraken." Which isn't entirely the truth or a lie. Gokudera wants to protect the creature because he loves monsters, and if it hasn't hurt anyone, it should not be hunted as if it has. He'd assumed his own familiar was a danger to new arrivals, and so this is a sort of act of retribution.
"I say we show up and act like the guy is a hero, get him thinking we're on his side, and then trick him into handing it over. We can always ask for it." He wonders if he can use his magic to create a barrier that will bounce back the man's means of catching or killing the kraken. Then, they won't have to get their hands dirty. Gokudera could always just say that the kraken is magical and repels those attacks? It's worth thinking about, but he won't know until they see the thief/poacher.
"If he's from this world, it'll be obvious we're not locals. Next time we do something like this, we should be disguised." Hell yeah Gokudera will dress up as a medieval peasant. Why not? He's not unfamiliar with looking the part.
no subject
"We won't let him hurt it." Yamamoto can guess that added onto that should be that Gokudera does not want to see the Kraken hurt either. Truth neither does the swordsman and he also does not agree with anyone being forced into marriage. It seems entirely unfair what this person has done, so while peaceful would be nice, he is prepared to do what has to be done.
"Huh, how do we do that?" Yamamoto is not the best at deception, he is a straight forward kind of guy so if deception is what they are using, he is going to have to follow Gokudera's lead. But then again, Gokudera has a good thought, playing it off friendly that way may just make acquiring the pelt a peaceful endeavor and then they can save the Kraken too.
"Think so, maybe we should go back and get some?" Though, his weapons alone would probably give him away, since despite it not being able to be activated, he keeps not only his future versions sword but also his Shigure Kintoki with him.
no subject
"Right." He's much more invested in the beast's safety than the fact that a selkie got her pelt stolen. It won't be too much trouble to beat some thief up.
"Just act like we think he's great, that's all. We could even act like all we've ever heard of krakens are how horrible they are. I'll even go in and see if I can 'lure it out' for the guy." Gokudera says with a shrug.
"Or whatever. I just want to make sure he's good and distracted. I'll put up a barrier around the creature if I can."
"No. I don't want to waste any time. Whatever the next quest, maybe blending in will do us some good, though."
no subject
Yamamoto thinks the theft is wrong, the forced marriage even wronger still, but the Kraken is the one in immediate danger so it makes sense that be the biggest focus of the mission.
"Then I'll get the pelt and knock him out." If they drag the thief back to justice then the Kraken should be safe, right?
"Good idea, we'll have to get Tsuna some too, in case he comes along."

Locked to Gokudera and Tsuna : Cupid's Arrows
All of them obviously a little curious to see how they work.
One thing Yamamoto should know, if Gokudera is shooting anyone, it's probably him. But that does not stop the swordsman from standing there with a big smile on his face, laughing with that soft inhalation like he always does.
"Huh, what do you think they will do?"
Tsuna next?
"It'll be nice to have a weapon that's a little more quiet. So, this will be like training." And he fires off the arrow, but it doesn't really fly so much as drops. This is not the cool practiced Gokudera from the future with G Archery, ok? With an aggravated grumble, he picks it up, set it back and watches how his fingers grip. Ah, okay now it feels more secure. He pulls back and aims it at Yamamoto, a mischievous grin on his face.
no subject
Unsurprisingly really, since he's always nervous around any sort of weapon. Especially with the word experimental in them. Tsuna has terrible luck in the best of cases but it seems to only increase in the presence of experimental weapons.
"Maybe we should find out what they do first before using them?" He suggests, though he knows it will likely be a futile effort. He flinches as the arrow is fired off.
no subject
"Hahaha! If you think you can hit me." He banters, propping his elbow on Tsuna's shoulder as he does with that grin then turned on his other friend.
"Maa, maa, they wouldn't give them to us if they could kill us right, it should be interesting!" They just got to try them out and hey, Yamamoto is willing to be the target, so it's a win, win right?

[ Azula says his name outload before she can stop herself, realizing in those few moments how stupid it probably was to approach him at all. She hadn't expected to come across him at all, slightly surprised that she found him so easily. This was the thing that got Zuko into so much trouble with his bomb idiot and she did the exact same thing-- see his ignorant face and shout at it. Would she be luckier than her brother and still have a connection to the boy she met in Lunatia?
The longer she stood there, hands on her hips in pretend certainty, the more she knew that was probably not the case. ]
no subject
[The swordsman hears his name but he does not recognize the voice, when he turns it's the same friendly face he always has, a bright smile, reaching right up to his eyes. Open and warm, if about a year or so older than what she may be inclined to remember.
He blinks a couple of times in confusion, then lets out a soft chuckle]
Did you mean me?
no subject
No other fool is around that answers by such a name.
no subject
My bad, I don't recognize you, but it's nice to meet you.
[And his grin widens with a soft chuckle, that ends on an inhalation. Maybe he doesn't remember but doesn't mean he can't be her friend right?]

After the Selkie Quest and talking to Tsuna; CW: Mentions of NPC death
He'd hoped that the seriousness of Yamamoto joining them and taking up a sword over baseball would have struck him during the Ring battles, but apparently not. Apparently what it took was in actually living up to what Reborn-san had pointed out. Yamamoto may not want to be a hitman... but in protecting the people he cares about, he did what needed to be done. How he feels about it... is being masked behind a smile. Gokudera's felt ill looking at it, knowing that it's just something fake, that Yamamoto isn't putting it on for his own benefit.
Gokudera won't be upset about what Yamamoto did, or how he approached it with the Tenth. He will be upset about the idiot hiding how he feels. This isn't something anyone should have to handle alone. Gokudera could have put up a shield to protect the guy that got killed, but he didn't. He's not going to reflect on that. What's done is done. Once he's sure that his family is all settled down for the evening, instead of turning into his own bed to sleep, he's knocking on Yamamoto's bedroom door softly.
"It's me. Can I come in?"
He's respectful and it may seem odd, but to say that the day's events have been sobering would be a massive understatement.
no subject
What is eating at him, is that to him he feels like he could have done it differently, a matter of inches but those inches counted and that his friends once again are seeing that darkness in him. Perhaps a part of him was glad they did not remember everything, even as he hoped they would, it's hard to say. It was nice to forget awhile, to be as normal as three teenagers in a land of magic can get.
And he's ruined that, in one swipe of his blade he's reminded them all of who and what they really are? Hasn't he, he feels like he has, maybe he's only reminded himself, who knows but it's this among other things that keep him awake long after talking to Tsuna.
Long after he has showered and shut himself in his room, Jirou is laying in front of the door by the time Gokudera knocks, his head shoots up, and when the bomber speaks he blinks. He expected Tsuna, but he's not disappointed in any way.
Instead, he calls the Akita from the door and answers, that his bed is still made, his sword propped against it is the only give away that he was not laying here relaxing. In truth, he spent most of his time since stepping in here, working with that blade, trying to replay it and see if he could have done anything differently. The only indication of that is that his hair may be a bit damp, sticking to his forehead here or there.
"Come in.." He answers, making sure he is seated, looking as if he was at least just relaxing with the Akita, even if it's not true.
no subject
Gokudera's lived his life assuming that everyone is bad, that every person holds that darkness Yamamoto is scared they see in him. What he's seen of the swordsman dealing with what happened, he doesn't appear to be feeling guilty, or sad, or frightened, or sick. Gokudera can't handle the smile anymore. It doesn't sit right on him. Doesn't fit. He knows with no shadow of a doubt that the swordsman cannot just accept what he did like it meant nothing.
He doesn't want the Tenth to focus too much on it, so he gives him plenty of time, decides that how the baseball idiot is handling it is much more important. He's going to be more supportive. Gokudera has seen some pretty awful things in his young life, and feels he's more prepared to handle this, to help his fellow Guardian cope however is necessary.
Gokudera walks in, quietly shuts the door behind him, then leans against it, looking at Yamamoto for a moment, then at the dog.
"How're you feeling?"
no subject
Yamamoto feels all of that, to his deepest depths but he is not one to show those feelings. He hides behind that smile, makes sure no one has any reason to worry over him. Maybe, he should realize that Gokudera being here now means that someone sees through it.
Someone knows he is not okay, no matter how hard he pretends.
He blinks, running a hand over Jirou's head, the lie, the smile, they are all on the tip of his tongue and when he looks up he flashes it, opens his mouth and then those honey hues meet green and for a second he is frozen again. The smile falters, it's sad around the edges and the swordsman shakes his head.
"I'm okay.." I'll be okay, I have to be he tells himself. Then his eyes go to the blade beside him, his fingers flex but he does not reach out, instead, his hand goes up to his chest. He has given more than this for his friends and he would do so again.
"It doesn't get any easier, no matter how many battles, does it?" It has not for him yet, he has been through the most battles as a Guardian here thanks to the timelines and yet, he still struggles with this part of their world.

Post-Selkie; During Cupids
He knows they can't really go back to that though.
But lately he's just been feeling such affections for his friends that he has to do something about it. Or at the very least, talk to Yamamoto about it.
He hesitates a few times before knocking on Yamamoto's door.]
no subject
Gokudera had come to him the day of, it had surprised the swordsman but he had appreciated it.
Then the next day there were arrows and for a little while now he has not had to concern himself with it. Full instead of warm affection for his friends and probably pestering his fellow Guardian way more than the bomber would like.
But, at least that smile is genuine and that arm is flinging itself friendly once more around shoulders.
He is sitting on his bed, scratching behind Jirou's ears as the Akita lays with his head in his lap when he hears the knock, perking up he grins.]
Come in!
no subject
He's mindful that Gokudera will probably get jealous so he might say something to him later to avoid that, but at the same time, he wants a little privacy for this conversation. ]
Hey Yamamoto...uh, how are you doing?
no subject
As if reading Tsuna's thoughts, he blinks a couple more times, then lets out a chuckle.]
Where's Gokudera?
[Is this not a meeting? Oh..well nope, not after that question it's not. Please can he just hug and love his friends and not remember that he did something he'll never forget.]
Better now! That arrow sure helped.
[Annnnd there goes his arm around Tsuna's shoulder with a squeeze.]
Makes it hard to worry about all that other stuff.
[But it is still there and best to get it out now while he still has some of that cupid juice going]

Sync or Swim; locked to Gokudera
Either way, this ritual seems like it might be interesting, so there he is in the tent. A relaxed expression on his face as the sounds around him filter between the sounds of a baseball game, the crack of the bat, the cheers. Then there is the sound of the shop, his old man talking, the click of the knives or chatter of customers. That is not to leave out the soft sounds of his sword training, though these are less frequent. The most prominent sound of all though, his friends, Tsuna, Gokudera, Senpai, the Girls, Lambo, everyone laughing, yelling, a general chaotic sound but the one that sounds the most like home to him, like family, even over the sounds of the shop.
Every time he hears it, the swordsman grin's only grows, even though it is rowdy sounding to him it is his peaceful, safe place and that he can hear them all like that together means a great deal to him.
no subject
Noticing Yamamoto puts him a little at ease, and he walks right in, taking a seat in front of his fellow Guardian. The noise is... familiar and not unwelcome. It wouldn't be what he'd hope for if he wanted to meditate. Probably rain on tin roofs or a cafe, but there is something calming about hearing a bustle of daily life.
"Hey, idiot." The bomber greets, chilled from outside and feeling a little cozy here. Just like the times he's been in the sushi shop, acted like he didn't want to be there, but... the Yamamotos have a way about turning where they are into a comfortable, hospitable place. Oddly, he feels right at home in this unfamiliar tent. Gokudera puts his cigarette out against the bottom of his shoe, pockets the butt, and folds a leg under him, the other one extended out some so he can lean somewhat against his knee.
no subject
When he sees its Gokudera he lights up, a happy chuckle coming out with a soft inhalation at the greeting. He figures this should make the ritual a lot easier, they trust each other. Or at least he knows he trusts Gokdera with his life.
"Gokudera! Haha! I'm glad to see you, this should be easy for us!" They can be in-sync with each other when it counts he thinks, so hopefully, they can do it here. Yamamoto is sitting in a perfect criss-cross apple sauce, but it's clear by the minor volume increase, the way his shoulders lifted, and the big smile on his face that he is honestly happy to see Gokudera.
no subject
So his friends can enjoy peace before their life as true mafioso begin. At least while they have time in this world, he will do his best to keep their time as easy as possible.
Gokudera trusts Yamamoto a little, but with most everything regarding his trust towards other people, there is doubt.
"You think so? Aren't we supposed to be in-sync?" They are almost nothing alike. He's not so sure they have enough in common to be well coordinated.
