Get out your guns, battles begun.... (February Catch All)

🧙 WHO: Yamamto Takeshi, Various and YOU!
⚔️️ WHAT: Open catch all for February with quests, TDM and random shenanigans
đź•’ WHEN: All of February
🗺️ WHERE: All over~
⚠️ WARNINGS: NPC death in comments as I will be doing the Selkie quest. None other than that will update if it changes.

Quest for the Pure of heart: Yamamoto accepted this quest not only for the gold offered which will certainly be good for the three young hitmen. But because he wants to help as much as he can here in Avalon, it seemed a good way to do so. The young man has harvested his crystal, making it across the bridge with ease as if ever there was a pure heart, Yamamoto Takeshi possesses it.

His problem, he is now standing on the other side, torn between completing his task as Morganna instructed or not. Slipping something into a person's food sneakily seems wrong to him. Maybe he should ask the man, tell him about the vial? Honesty is always best right.

As it is, maybe a fellow traveler completing this task would like to accompany him to finish the rest, a little teamwork might motivate him to choose a path, rather than stand there torn between his decision because while one completes the task, another feels like it is the right thing to do.

Ingredient 2: Deez Nuts!
Yamamoto figures with his animal magic and sword, he stands a pretty good chance at this task. So he is there in front of the quests postings and going to flash a beaming smile at anyone who catches his eye. He's clearly a young man on a mission and ready and raring to go.

Anyone who even so much as makes eye contact is going to be met with a grin, a slight wave of his hand, and the following question.

"Yo! Want to help me gather some nuts?"

Wildcard: I am open to any of the quests or TDM prompts, if you'd like a starter for one let me know. Or if you want to fling someone at Yamamoto at random, he can be found training daily, not only his magic but his sword too, or just out and about getting to know people, so feel free to fling a random hey, I see you in the street starter or let me know, and I can write it. Long story short, up for anything, so come on at me; I had a rough couple of months but here for all the tags now. You can get me [plurk.com profile] bethestorm to plot.

Yamamoto is not entirely useless, by Gokudera's standards. He just doesn't see him taking the Mafia seriously. It's insulting, but now on a different world, it doesn't always apply. Gokudera isn't so callous towards the baseball nut if they are not doing anything involving the Family. If this is just the two of them working on a quest, then Yamamoto's behavior towards the Mafia doesn't even cross the bomber's mind. The swordsman is focusing on things he shouldn't, clearly. If he's going into this thinking that Gokudera will mistreat him, it won't be anything aside from the usual scoffing and dismissal. The baseball idiot can be useful.

"I honestly don't care how we take it back. I get the feeling my familiar will be upset if something happens to the Kraken." Which isn't entirely the truth or a lie. Gokudera wants to protect the creature because he loves monsters, and if it hasn't hurt anyone, it should not be hunted as if it has. He'd assumed his own familiar was a danger to new arrivals, and so this is a sort of act of retribution.

"I say we show up and act like the guy is a hero, get him thinking we're on his side, and then trick him into handing it over. We can always ask for it." He wonders if he can use his magic to create a barrier that will bounce back the man's means of catching or killing the kraken. Then, they won't have to get their hands dirty. Gokudera could always just say that the kraken is magical and repels those attacks? It's worth thinking about, but he won't know until they see the thief/poacher.

"If he's from this world, it'll be obvious we're not locals. Next time we do something like this, we should be disguised." Hell yeah Gokudera will dress up as a medieval peasant. Why not? He's not unfamiliar with looking the part.

Tsuna next?

"They wouldn't sell something like this for me to use on people if it hurt them. You want to play target, baseball nut?" Gokudera asks while inspecting the bow and readying an arrow. He aims it at his fellow guardian before twisting at the waist to aim at some random person.

"It'll be nice to have a weapon that's a little more quiet. So, this will be like training." And he fires off the arrow, but it doesn't really fly so much as drops. This is not the cool practiced Gokudera from the future with G Archery, ok? With an aggravated grumble, he picks it up, set it back and watches how his fingers grip. Ah, okay now it feels more secure. He pulls back and aims it at Yamamoto, a mischievous grin on his face.

Gokudera doesn't have any goals as far as how any of this is going to work out with his relationship to Yamamoto. This is just something he knows would best be tackled together. It isn't that he's looking to compete or even bond... this is for the good of the kraken, and that's it.

"Right." He's much more invested in the beast's safety than the fact that a selkie got her pelt stolen. It won't be too much trouble to beat some thief up.

"Just act like we think he's great, that's all. We could even act like all we've ever heard of krakens are how horrible they are. I'll even go in and see if I can 'lure it out' for the guy." Gokudera says with a shrug.

"Or whatever. I just want to make sure he's good and distracted. I'll put up a barrier around the creature if I can."

"No. I don't want to waste any time. Whatever the next quest, maybe blending in will do us some good, though."
bakudan_bambino: (have any theories to go with that tie?)

"I think it may do us well to blend in with the natives of this world," he says, knowing that at some point they may need to hide out. There may not be much of a mafia that they have noticed in Camelot, but if there is anyone who suspects it from them, it'll create more trouble than it's worth.

Gokudera isn't so against the forced marriage. He has to wonder how a human got close enough to a creature like a selkie to even take its pelt. It's not right, and he wouldn't dream of justifying such a thing, but the marriage is current. He's glad that Yamamoto seems to recognize that the kraken is the one in immediate danger.

"Alright, I'll keep the Kracken from him. I wonder how he even plans to get it." Maybe that's something he can ask while he plays curious bystander.

"Right? Thanks." Gokudera says while they walk out towards where the pelt thief should be. He sees someone out there and isn't eager to make much noise while he cracks his knuckles, still walking alongside Yamamoto.

"Good thing I'm a light magic tournament champion, then." If this guy has magic, two can play at that game!

"You speak animal. Let me know if you can tell if the Kraken is in distress at all."

Tsuna is nervous.

Unsurprisingly really, since he's always nervous around any sort of weapon. Especially with the word experimental in them. Tsuna has terrible luck in the best of cases but it seems to only increase in the presence of experimental weapons.

"Maybe we should find out what they do first before using them?" He suggests, though he knows it will likely be a futile effort. He flinches as the arrow is fired off.

“They’re enchanted, Tenth! Not cursed! Don’t worry about it!” And he’s having too much fun aiming at the baseball idiot who seems to be having as much fun with the thrill of this as he is.

“Oh, just hold still, then. I’m just starting out!” Gokudera complains and pulls back the arrow, aiming it for Yamamoto’s torso, near his right ribs. When it flies, it goes right for the Tenth, though. Oops! Well, at least there isn’t much power. Maybe the boss will just end up with an enchanted left leg?

Gokudera is obviously more focused on their mission at hand. Honestly not even focusing on the glory of a quest, or the adventure, or that he’s trying to help someone. What matters most to him in the moment is the creature. He’s too soft when it comes to animals, and if he had Yamamoto’s magic, he’d probably be in tears feeling the stress and fear.

“Or at least save your empty head from getting knocked off,” He grins and then looks around, wondering if his familiar is nearby. It should be... and he can sense Larry, but as usual, the creature likes to hide in plain sight, an illusion of its surroundings.

The man’s expression is one thing, but his words make Gokudera snarl and he has to hold himself back from jumping at him immediately. Instead, his fists ball up and he turns to walk into the water, to wade out further than the man or the Kraken is. Once he’s clearly out of arm’s reach and acting as if he’s completely unaware of the supposed beast, he hollers something he hopes will make the man angry, distract him for Yamamoto to knock him out. “I will once I’m done washing the smell of your wife off my lips!” He snaps back before diving under the surface of the water. There’s a large swell after him, something following before it’s sinking under. It definitely isn’t the Kraken.

Gokudera is under the water before the attack can even start. Yamamoto stepping in to stop the crook of a man from attacking him helps.

And it seems he’s gone beneath the surface, along with the Kraken. The boy can’t communicate with it, but Larry at least understands that his human wants it safe. He motions to the Kraken, then to his familiar. The Lariosauro understands as swims about the Kraken, cloaking them both and acting as an escort to deeper water.

Gokudera breeches the surface with a gasp and flings his arms out to create a mobile shield for Yamamoto. He’s too far away to get involved, but he’s not just going to tread water and watch this like it’s some kind of show! He’s chattering cold, hands extended to maintain that shield as his legs kick to keep him from sinking back under. The longer he can watch that shield and believe in it, giving his magical energy to ensure Yamamoto’s safety, the more effective it will be in taking some of those hits.

Well, that's one way to do it.

Gokudera has seen plenty in his young life that most people his age couldn't imagine. He drops his shields, watching Yamamoto with blatant fear in his expression, skin gone pale. His eyes focus on the head lying at the swordsman's feet instead of the face of his fellow Guardian. He knows what it means to be a hitman, to be a supposed natural with things like that. But he's always seen men killed from bullets, and never something as gruesome as a head legitimately severed from a body. There is so much blood, and he can't look away, mouth dry and all thoughts about saving a Kraken gone from his mind. It's just a shrill sort of ringing and buzzing and then his eyes flick over to Yamamoto's blade, dripping blood.

Larry surfaces beside him and looks on, nudging Gokudera, who decides he does not want to approach, doesn't know why he's so locked up by fear. He knows what he has to do, but his body isn't willing it so easily. The Lariosauro swims to the bank and slides up, picking up the head and swallowing it whole.

That's odd and startles Gokudera right out of his fear. Enough that he approaches and walks out, clothes absolutely soaked, socks squelching with each step as he looks over the body. The boy glances about, making sure no one is seeing them. The sooner he gets the body in the water, the better.

"You alright, idiot?" He asks, voice oddly hoarse as he check's the dead man's pockets for any gold, just looting it of anything that may help it be identified before he looks on at Larry and nods to the water. The creature grabs one of his feet and then starts dragging him in.

Gokudera looks on at the smearing of blood across the gravel at the water's edge, then at it on Yamamoto's sword. Thankfully, it isn't all over the swordsman, and Gokudera gives a labored sigh. He's cold.

"Alright." He says easily enough. Whether Yamamoto meant to do what he did or not doesn't change what's happened, and Gokudera is not going to try treating him any differently. It wasn't exactly cruel what Yamamoto did, but swift, and probably something he didn't even give much thought to. Gokudera steps to stand in front of him, where his enemy had been. He looks over how he's holding his sword, then looks at his lips, trying to figure out if the other is going to be sick over what he'd done, or if he needs his weapon removed from his hand so he doesn't have to feel the burden of his action so heavy in the moment. There are any number of things Gokudera could do.

"How do you feel? Do you uh... do you need anything?" Perhaps to go back into town and take a hot shower. Gokudera may be cold, but he's capable of taking the pelt back to the woman they took this quest on for.

[personal profile] bakudan_bambino 2021-02-03 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Gokudera knows that this is definitely not okay, and Yamamoto can try to hide it, but nothing really is going to change what he just saw, what the baseball idiot just did. He's not thinking it's unnecessary, but the boss likely won't be happy. They're at least safe. Gokudera is usually a bit scared when his fellow Guardian gets intense, and that's one thing. Watching him cut some murderous bastard's head off is another entirely. He feels ill, but he's going to hold it together. They have to finish this up.

"No let's just go take it and go back so the Tenth doesn't worry."

Yamamoto probably needs time alone to process all of that, right? Gokudera is cold and uncomfortable, but he's not going to walk around alone because he doesn't feel safe. Not going to admit that, though.

"I want to see the look on her face, knowing she'll be free."
bakudan_bambino: (cocky)

[personal profile] bakudan_bambino 2021-02-03 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
He may feel he can't afford to fall apart, but Gokudera expects it. It'd only be healthy to process this in whatever way feels right, and he may not be as close to the swordsman as Yamamoto remembers, but he is supportive... even as someone he doesn't consider a friend, this is not anything he'd want dealt with alone. When it's all said and done, Yamamoto will answer to himself however he sees fit, but Gokudera knows that he may need support... the same kind he offers to them over things far more trivial.

"Oh yeah, definitely. Do you think she'll have to marry you, since you have her pelt?" Gokudera asks and nudges Yamamoto in the ribs gently with his elbow.
