Off Limits isn't the easiest place to find, tucked away in a side street as it is, but once you find the street, the neon sign is a dead giveaway. And if that still isn't enough, the fact that there are cameras floating around the streets, signposting the route for the race may do it. Step inside the gym itself and Kate — hair pulled up into pigtails, looking cosy in thermal leggings and an orange hoodie — will lead you through the main hall to the outdoor training area if you're competing (after taking your money and making you sign a waiver) or ask if you prefer to sit inside or out to view. In both cases you'll find chairs and a projector system currently broadcasting the route for the race, as run by Off Limit's surly owner.

There are quick explanations of the rules — don't use magic, feel free to use other routes as long as you pass the "checkpoints" the cameras create, don't interfere with other competitors, and anyone who does try to cheat will find themselves shot with some of the enchanted arrows Kate has procured for quest purposes (yes, that's been written in the waiver, hope you read the fine print!). And disqualified. Then a quick reminder that the first, second and third place racers can choose their prize in order of placement (first place gets first pick, etc) and everyone who doesn't place will be given a pack of homemade lavender tea as a thank you for competing.

So, with all that said, get racing!

Exactly! The best of both worlds, involving everyone from every world! Nothing should be off limits when it comes to fun and exercise combined!

Heck yeah! [ an enthusiastic fistpump! ...which is then immediately followed by a small wince of pain. yang foresees lots of icepacks in her future. ] Although maybe there should be some non-parkour stuff on the side. Not everyone's big into either exercise or fun.

[ Oof. A sympathetic nod towards the aching area. ]

They can always be our cheer-squad. They can score points on the most creative cheers!

Some friendly competition...I like that. [ she takes a seat on the floor next to della, offering a nod of her own toward the leg she's currently massaging. she gets it. ] Or maybe they could be the people who hold out water. Or doughnuts. Doughnuts are never a bad choice for anything.

[ Della gasps, then sighs, rubbing her stomach. ]

I could really go for some doughnuts right now... we used up a lot of carbs, gotta get those back in!

There's protein bars and some other stuff back there, [ she points her thumb toward the well-laden snack table behind them, ] but a whole pizza is sounding better and better by the minute.

[ a beat of silence as yang frowns in thought. ]

Make that a whole pizza and wings.

You're speaking my language. Count me in! [ she holds out a hand for an introductory handshake. ] Name's Yang, by the way. That way you're not devouring pizza with a stranger.

Likewise on both fronts. [ yang lets go of della's hand and returns to stretching. they won't be heading to any pizza place, much less out of this room, if neither of them are too sore to walk. ] And hey, congrats on the race. What place did you end up in?

Fourth! Not too shabby. Though if you ask me, all you humans have legs that are way too long.

[ She grins with a nudge, showing she's kidding. ]

[ yang takes the good-natured jab in stride, throwing her head back with a loud laugh. ] You've got a point! Still a great place for having the odds stacked against you. Maybe we can work on evening out some of the courses for parkourathon...?

Nah, I don't want you guys going easy on me! I need the challenge - how else am I going to get better? I say, the harder the better!

So what you're saying is there should be hoops on fire and pit traps with spikes. And some parts where we have to swing on ropes.

[ is yang joking? who can say! ]

And don't forget the wild animals full of hunger and bloodlust nipping at our heels.
