can you tell me what ever really special about me all this time
🧙 WHO: Tsuna and you
⚔️️ WHAT: Tsuna has been updated to the end of the Future Arc, and is now dealing with the ramifications of that. By falling asleep everywhere and potentially destructive training.
🕒 WHEN: throughout the rest of the January
🗺️ WHERE: School and training area mostly.
⚠️ WARNINGS: Spoilers for the Future Arc of KHR? Violence but mostly of the shonen manga variety, will update if necessary.
[A - Gather the Guardians; Locked to Castmates]
[He doesn't really realize it at first.
Tsuna wakes from a deep sleep, staring up at the ceiling with a look of confusion. It's not his ceiling, but he knows it somehow. He blinks, trying to recall, trying to sit up even though he's grogg, caught in that same feeling of knowing and not knowing.
And then it all hits him in a flash.
Avalon, and then as his memories are on fast-forward he remembers Merone base, Irie Shoichi, training and the Choice battle and Uni and running and fighting Byakuran and Uni sacrificing herself and Primo and Byakuran. And then they'd gone home to the past. And now, now he's back.
Tsuna shakes his head, trying to sort out the memories and lies back down. That couldn't have all been a dream. He knows it's not. His hand still bears his rings after all. The now awoken Sky Ring of the Vongola rings, and, Tsuna has to smile, Natsu's new ring as well. Though, as the memories calm down Tsuna doubts he'll be able to summon him here. Which is fine, since he'll have a griffin to contend with after all. There's still a warmth from the ring letting him know that Natsu is with him.
But the voice in his head, the one that sounds like Reborn, pipes up that he needs to gather his guardians, and so he forces himself up. He needs to check on his friends after all.]
[B - Sleep]
[And just like that, Tsuna has to re-adjust to life in Avalon.
In all things, it's not that different from adjusting to life in Namimori. His mom's not here and only a handful of his friends, but at least now he knows they are safe where they belong. But he gets up, goes to school, and carries on as best he can.
Not easily. He's no long in the future, no longer plagued with worries about Byakuran or protecting his friends and his body seems to be catching up with that. Seems to be catching up to the fact that his days are no longer filled with intense training and high-stakes battles and so most of the time, he feels exhausted.
Really, he should just take a day off and sleep but he feels like he's already done enough of that as well. So he struggles on.
And falls asleep at his desk. Against a shelf in the library. In the middle of the training area. And who knows where else, really?]
[C - Train, without my Dying Will.]
[On a day when it's not raining, Tsuna heads outside.
Avalon doesn't have the same resources as the Vongola base, and he will need space to attempt what he wants. Because he also expects that things might get destructive.
It's a weird feeling though, training this way. He doesn't have Lal Mirch or Reborn yelling in his ear or threatening him with physical violence. No Hibari to spar with. He can't enter his Hyper Dying Will mode and gain the focus he gets from that state. His pills do nothing though he may have tried one out of hope.
Instead it's just him and his magic and a new drive to make sure he has the power to protect his friends.
He looks up at the sky and ignites his hands in their bright orange flame.
i - flight
[Like a lot of things in his world, Tsuna understands them more by instinct than by any specific principle. How dying will flames provide flight is one of them. And while someone smart like Shoichi or Spanner could probably explain it, Tsuna is content with they provide propulsion and so he goes.
Here, magic seems to work a little differently.
Bursts of flame can propel him forward but he can't get that sustained levitation with just them. And certainly he lacks the agility he normally has. It's more than a little frustrating to go slamming into a tree, or the ground.
But for now he's lying on the ground, looking up at the sky and considering. He's missing something, and his hands hurt.]
ii - x-burner
[This is the big one.
Before he goes home, Tsuna at least wants an idea of how he can make his signature attack work in this world. He can't get by with wild bursts of magic anymore. And while he still has his contacts, they won't help. They aren't able to measure magic and Spanner is not here to upgrade them. So it's back to instinct.
His experiments with fire have made it known that he can't use it alone. There isn't a way to get the hard and soft flames that he needs but perhaps with combining the magic, he'll have a chance.
He has to get the balance right though, and he's back to instinct.
But he tries. In the left hand, soft flames, water and fire, contradictory but Tsuna is trying to draw on the idea that water (rain) is tranquility. In the right, fire and earth, lava almost, hard flames. And so he stands there, trying to balance, wondering if he dare to fire off a blast.]
[D - wildcard]

A
Kagura...is something wrong?
[She then spots Tsuna not too far from where they both stand.]
B-boss?
no subject
If Tsuna had been thinking more clearly, he could have just texted his friends instead of wandering around the town. But at the same time, the walking helps. His head is clearing and he can start to remember Camelot more, being able to separate it from his memories of Nanimori.
And when he sees Chrome, he lights up. She's still here, she's okay.]
Chrome! Hi...I was, uh, looking for you.
no subject
...you were looking for me? D-did something happen?
[ Her body tenses up used to the many conflicts they tend to get thrown into. As far as she knew, it was a regular day, but she was unaware that her boss was in a deep slumber and have finally awakened. Her familiar leaps up onto her small shoulders to calm her, but it's possible that Tsuna can't see the ghost cat as her two-toned eyes stare at the young Vongola with interest.]
no subject
[He's not entirely sure how to explain the situation off the top of his head. Where does he even begin?]
Nothing bad, really...just, what's the last thing you remember before you got here?
no subject
I'm sorry...I can't tell you that, Boss.
[She's unaware that the other teen has gained more memories, but there's no way for her to gauge how much knowledge he has.]
But why do you ask?
[She's playing things carefully, seeing how much the young Vongola would divulge, so she can figure out how much to reveal as well.]
no subject
Do you remember going to the future?
[That seems like the best place to start.]
no subject
Yes.
[She doesn't want to say too much, but she just decides to focus on the question at hand.]
...Were you concerned about something from then?
no subject
Like, when I woke up this morning, it was like waking up from a really long dream. And I could remember everything that happened in the future.
[It's a weird way to put it. Since he didn't so much remember as experience it in real time? He's still trying to figure it out.]
no subject
As Tsuna struggles to figure out what those memories were and why they feel both real and as if they've long transpired, Chrome walks up to him and places a hand on his shoulder.]
...It's okay, Boss. You don't have to understand it, just accept them as what they are. Everything you saw, it's true.
[She tries to give him a comforting smile knowing that Tsuna must be confused.]</small
no subject
It. It's a lot to accept.
I feel like a lot happened in a short amount of time. All the fighting and training.
We all went through a lot.
no subject
[ Yet, they had no choice. In order to return home, they needed to do what they must. She had to be braver than she ever needed to be or else. And she's sure everyone else was pushed to the brink as well.
She only knows bits and pieces of what Tsuna himself had to endure, but as the boss, she's sure he had to make tough decisions or even push himself to speak up when he didn't have the confidence. He had to be a leader for them in a dire situation, and that couldn't have been easy!]
But Boss...we wouldn't have gotten so far if it wasn't for you. Even if it wasn't the situation you wanted us to be in, we were all willing to do what we must to return home. So don't feel guilty.
no subject
Even so, I'm sorry. I asked a lot of you. And thank you, for everything you did to help.
no subject
[ So that's why she doesn'thave any resentment towards Tsuna for what happened in the future or the other conflicts to come. It's what she agreed to in becoming Tsuna's second half of the mist.]
I don't know how much help I was, but...[Chrome smiles]...any time, Boss.
no subject
I don't think I would have beaten Torikabuto without you...and we needed everyone against the real Six Funeral Wreaths.
I guess I'm still tying to process it all.
no subject
Well, you can take your time. And if you need someone to talk to about it, I'm always here. But maybe...instead of searching through the city for me, you could just...call?
[Chrome smiles sweetly, but she's kind of teasing the mafioso a little.]
no subject
[Tsuna laughs, a little awkwardly.]
I guess this time, I just wanted to see everyone. To remind myself that this is just as real as the future was.
no subject
It's our reality now, but...thankfully it's not as stressful as the future. Still...I had good times despite everything.
[ She was able to get closer to Tsuna, his other guardians, and even his friends. So she doesn't regret their time in the future at all. She was slowly able to open up to other people which is something she always struggled with.]
Even here, I'm hoping to make more good memories with Boss, too. So please continue to look after me.
no subject
I'm glad you were able to be friends with Kyoko-chan and everyone. I know they were happy as well.
And I will. I'm glad you're here Chrome, and I look forward to that as well.
[It's a lot to keep reminding himself that they have peace here, but he'll keep trying.]
no subject
She then nods, bowing slightly at the hip. It seems like everything is settled, so she'll leave Tsuna to check on his other guardians.]
If there's nothing else, Boss, then I'll be on my way.
[She then turns on her heels and starts walking in the opposite direction. Though not without looking back at Tsuna, and giving him a wave of farewell.]
no subject
[That's one guardian accounted for. And Tsuna's heart is a little more at ease.]
